Yesterday was ?Blackout Tuesday,? and a lot of white celebrities participated in it. Which is missing the point those white celebrities could and should be using their social media to amplify, inform, educate and engage. But so many people did it and many of them weren?t saying much of anything about Black Lives Matter BEFORE the blackout, which is also missing the point. Still, it was absolutely discouraging to see the reaction to all of those black boxes on Instagram and Twitter. The reactions were either ?thank you, you?re doing the most for BLM!? or ?you?re racist because All Lives Matter!? Both of those responses suck.
Anyway, Ashton Kutcher had some time to reflect on the ?All Lives Matter? argument. He made a video, which I cannot access on Twitter because Ashton has had me blocked for years (lol). But I can still access his Instagram, so there you go.

| Gwyneth Paltrow slams All Lives Matter, calls it 'a blind spot of white privilege' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

To me, Gwyneth Paltrow is the inevitable peak of white privilege, someone who was born rich and well-connected who parlayed those advantages to even greater wealth, fame and better connections. She has historically used her privilege to shill fake science to other wealthy, gullible white women. Gwyneth has done racist sh-t before too, but it?s not her ?brand.? If I?m being generous, I would say that while Gwyneth seems like she would be a total Karen, she?s more of a clueless Becky when it comes to conversations about race.
That being said, I?m all for white celebrities using their platform to do anything beyond the bare minimum. While Gwyneth was quiet for a week about the murder of George Floyd and the protests, she decided to use her Instagram to not only push back on the All Lives Matter people, but provide links to organizations doing good work. This was her message:
If you feel compelled to comment ?all lives matter? in response to this post and you?re not a bot (which you probably are), nor an agent provocateur trying to create instability and division in our country, you might want to consider that you are reacting from a blind spot of white privilege. Saying ?all lives matter? is a denial of how dangerous it is to simply live as a black person in America. ?All lives? do not live in fear of getting killed simply because of the color of their skin.

I may balk at Gwyneth?s lack of self-awareness 99% of the time, but I don?t have any problem with anything she?s doing here. It?s better than the ?blackout? posts other celebrities were doing. She highlights important work and encouraged her followers to donate. And she talked about white privilege. It?s better than most celebrities and corporations.

| Wow, Lea Michele gave an 'apology' statement to People Mag & it's terrible | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lea Michele tried to do a tweet about racism and George Floyd, only to have it blow up in her face spectacularly. The backlash began when Samantha Marie Ware, a former Glee guest-star, tweeted that Lea actually threatened to ?sh-t in her wig? among other ?microaggressions? which caused Samantha to question her career. Lea?s other former costars (on Glee and other shows) piled on and backed up Ware?s story and more. Then, within the same newscycle, Lea?s corporate sponsorship with HelloFresh was terminated, and HelloFresh said it was specifically for Lea?s racism. So? what?s new? Lea went to People Magazine to perform her apology.
Lea Michele is apologizing for past behavior after her Glee costar Samantha Marie Ware accused her of tormenting her on the set of the musical TV series. Michele, 33, says in a statement exclusively shared with PEOPLE that while she does not remember making the specific remarks that Ware says she made, that is not really the point.
What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people, Michele says, explaining the importance of listening and learning from those who she might have hurt in the past.
One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other peoples perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face, Michele says. When I tweeted the other day, it was meant to be a show of support for our friends and neighbors and communities of color during this really difficult time? but the responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them.
While I don?t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that?s not really the point, Micheles statement continues. What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.
Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused. We all can grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect on my own shortcomings.
I am a couple of months from becoming a mother and I know I need to keep working to better myself and take responsibility for my actions, so that I can be a real role model for my child and so I can pass along my lessons and mistakes, so that they can learn from me, she concludes. I listened to these criticisms and I am learning and while I am very sorry, I will be better in the future from this experience.
[From People]
This is a lot: ?Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult? Well. So is she acknowledging her ?privileged position? or saying that it?s just people who PERCEIVE her as ?insensitive or inappropriate?? It?s just a mess, honestly, and I don?t know what to say here. She deserves no cookies for this, although I guess a vague apology is a start. But to be clear, she was accused of being racist and a terrible coworker and she makes it sound like people are just misremembering things but she?ll work on getting people to perceive her differently. It?s not a good statement.

| Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas protested in Venice, CA together | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas were seen in Venice, California yesterday at a march for George Floyd. Ben held a sign that read Save First Baptist Church of Venice, although I doubt it was his. The photo was taken and posted by Save Venice, a community organization dedicated to saving the historic Black church, established in 1910 and sold by the pastor a private owner in 2017. The group is using legal means to gain control of the church and have it declared an Historic-Cultural Monument. By having Ben Affleck hold that sign, they just got so much publicity for their cause. Im pretty sure that small notebook page with Black Lives Matter on it is theirs, and no disrespect for that. I am not crafty and usually just print something out on my computer and paste it to a bigger poster board.
Anna initially posted this to her Instagram, with a blackout square and she did use the right tag, #BlackOutTuesday. Incidentally, activists are urging people not to use the #BlackLiveMatter as it drowns out more important causes and calls to action. Its awesome that they came out and protested.
The activist who met Affleck and took the photo, Sarah Mahir, spoke to ET Online. She had just got done making a speech about the need to save the church and that she turned around and Ben Affleck was standing there. [He] graciously agreed to take a photo and possibly keep in touch with us.
A source gave a quote to People about it that Ben wants to continue to be a model for his children. They talk about these important issues. Also E! has a bunch of quotes, they posted them last week and Im just seeing them now, about how sweet Ana is with Bens kids and how she keeps him sober. At least his people parceled them out and didnt blanket the press with these, but theyre cheesy. Heres what they said:
She supports his sobriety and has really helped him stay on track, the insider says. She is loving, caring and fun. They are always laughing and making each other smile. Ben is extremely happy with herEverything seems to work between them, and its been a long time since he has fallen hard like this.
Ana loves kids and couldnt wait to meet them and spend time with them, the insider said. She knows how much they mean to Ben and so she was anxious to be a part of that. She is very sweet and kind to the kids. They immediately warmed up to her and like her a lot. They are all comfortable together and shes very nurturing. Everything has worked out very well.
Affleck is fully present for his family.
[From E! Online]
This is all so calculated, right? As for the protest, Ana wore a mask in the photo but Ben didnt. (Update: supposedly he has a mask on in video from the protest.)
Here are photos of Ben and Ana on his motorcycle yesterday. I do think they rode it to the protest because in the photo Ana has her jacket tied around her waist. No wonder they had a small sign.

| HelloFresh fired Lea Michele: 'HelloFresh does not condone racism' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Yesterday, we discussed Samantha Marie Ware and how Lea Michele threatened her when they worked together on Glee in 2015. Ware claimed (and I believe her, 100%) that Lea told everyone that if given the opportunity, she would ?sh-t? in Samantha?s wig. What was amazing was that immediately, several former Glee peeps and former Lea Michele costars all piled on with stories and GIFs, all agreeing with Samantha. Apparently, Abigail Breslin is another one of Lea?s old (Scream Queens) costars who hates her guts:
Weighing in? Abigail Breslin and more stars subtly addressed drama surrounding Lea Michele after Glee alum Samantha Maria Ware accused the actress of making the show a ?living hell.?
Later Tuesday, Breslin, 24, was caught ?liking? a handful of tweets about the Glee backlash. ?not everyone agreeing that something felt off about Lea Michele? where have y?all been i?ve BEEN saying this FOR YEARS??? i thought i was alone,? one Twitter user wrote. Another tweet in Breslin?s list of ?liked? posts simply showed a photo of the series? slogan, ?And that?s what you missed on Glee.?
[From Us Weekly]
So, yeah, Lea has left a lot of carnage on every show she?s ever been on. Literally everyone knew she was the worst though I remember hearing stories about her terrible behavior when Glee first became a thing. Those stories calmed down after Cory Monteith died people felt sorry for Lea but I guess she kept on treating everybody like garbage after Cory died. Another piece of good news? One of Lea?s corporate sponsors just dropped her:
Lea Michele?s partnership with HelloFresh just spoiled. The meal-kit company announced on Tuesday that it terminated its relationship with the former ?Glee? actress after Samantha Marie Ware spoke out against Michele?s alleged racist behavior.
?HelloFresh does not condone racism nor discrimination of any kind. We are disheartened and disappointed to learn of the recent claims concerning Lea Michele,? the company tweeted. ?We take this very seriously, and have terminated our partnership with Lea Michele, effective immediately.?
Michele?s rep hasn?t responded to numerous requests for comment.
[From Page Six]
In the midst of any of these ?feeding frenzy? gossip cycles, I always love it when an outlet says something like ?Her rep had no comment,? or ?his publicist hung up on us.? If Lea treats her COSTARS like sh-t, how do you think she treats her friggin? publicist? That publicist has probably been ?liking? all of the shady tweets too. Anyway, yeah. No more HelloFresh for Lea. HAahahahahaha. Oh well.
God, I couldn?t even finish watching this because she?s THAT annoying. How has this chick been a working actress for the past decade?!?
