| Lauren Cohan on the Walking Dead scene which almost made her quit the show | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Spoilers for season three and season five of The Walking Dead, which aired in 2012, 2015
We all have those sh*tty days at work where we’re like “this sucks I can’t take it anymore,” but apparently working on a depressing gory TV show can really test an actor’s resolve. Lauren Cohan (Maggie), 34, told a story during an upcoming appearance on Inside The Actor’s Studio about a scene from The Walking Dead that made her want to quit. In a scene from season three of the show, Maggie cuts into pregnant Lori’s stomach to save her baby, this was at Lori’s insistence while they’re trapped in a boiler room as zombies overrun the prison. Lori ends up hemorrhaging to death, but baby Judith survives. After Lauren read that scene she was so emotional that she ran to go see Steven Yeun, who plays her husband, and told him she didn’t think she could do it. Lauren explained that all the actors live in the same apartment building so it was easy to go get support from Steven when she needed it.
?I knock on Steven?s door, and I said, ?I have to leave the show. I don?t think I can do it,?? recalled Cohan, who explained she and her castmates all live in the same apartment building. ?It affects you so deeply to the core to touch on ? to dive into so much of this material.
?And then I realized that?s why I have to do it because the outcome of that, as heinous and as [much] as that affected me? we watch to feel and to hopefully, honestly portray something. And bad stuff happens, and what?s the point in not getting real about it? Ironically enough as hard as this is, the deeper you go into it?
[From US Magazine]
As preparation for this story, I re-read the details of how Lori died after Maggie did a DIY c-section and it made me sick to my stomach and so sad for Carl for having to witness his mom’s death. (US Weekly has that clip from the show if you’d like to see the video.) I mean I saw it when it originally aired but I can’t imagine having to film something like that. As a viewer I try to tune some of those really violent and especially sad scenes out, and to rationalize the deaths like “oh this character’s death was foreshadowed, they needed to take them out for this reason” (with the exception of Tyreese, that made me so mad). It must be rough having to act out the death of a co-worker.
I know Cohan is the one having the breakout career (sort of, if you count her creepy doll movie) but I would love to see more interviews with the other actresses from The Walking Dead, particularly Danai Gurira (Michonne) and Melissa McBride (Carol).
Oh and The Walking Dead returns on February 14! Screw Valentines Day, this is what I’m doing that night.

| Julianne Moore: 'It's very difficult to find parts, no matter how old you are' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Julianne Moore covers the March issue of Marie Claire UK. She?s really ageless, isn?t she? And by that I mean she?s looked pretty much the same for the past 15 years. I even believe that she?s Botox-free and plastic surgery-free. I think she just takes care of her skin. At least I hope so. Julianne covers MC to promote Freeheld, the true story about Moore?s dying character fighting for her death benefits to go to her life partner, played by Ellen Page. Freeheld got a limited release in America last fall, and there was some hope that it could be an awards contender, but critics didn?t care for it very much. Anyway, here are some highlights from Julianne?s profile:
JM on Ellen Page?s coming out: “Ellen was miserable. She talked to me very frankly about her own experience?what it felt like, about the nature of the discomfort. A lot of people I know came out a long time ago. None of my friends were celebrities when they came out; they were college students. So here I was talking to this very young woman, who had recently come out, about experiences that were very, very fresh, so it was a different kind of conversation.”
On LGBT rights in general: ?I think it?s easy for us in New York to say ?Oh, things are different? but they are not. People can still be discriminated against at work, or for housing. In some States they can be fired for being gay; they can be denied opportunities.?
Ageism in Hollywood: ?It?s very difficult to find parts, no matter how old you are, no matter where you are and whether you?re a man or a woman, the movie industry is not in the business of finding good roles for actors or actresses; it is in the business of creating films that will make as much money as possible.?
She witnessed the AIDS crisis in the 1980s: ?I was 23 years old, and people started dying. The first person I knew went away to Mexico on vacation, came home and died?he said he had the Mexican flu. People just kept dying. And these were my friends. It was happening in the actor community, and it was devastating. So I think that made me politically aware.”
She?s a mom first: ?At night, I won’t answer work emails, or the phone, unless there is an emergency. If I have to read scripts, or have a meeting, or do an interview, I do it during the school day. I don’t think I’ve ever given an interview within the school hours, just because I want to be home when my kids are home. I want to have dinner with them.”
[From Marie Claire UK, E! News]
It seems like giving interviews when her kids are in school would be the perfect time? I get that she wants to be home when they get home from school, but the way she said that was a bit odd. And I think she?s being much, much too nice and conciliatory about ageism in Hollywood. Just because she?s one of a handful of over-40 actresses working with some consistency, doesn?t mean that ageism is still rampant with actresses in particular. A 30-something man can plod through and not become a movie star until his 40s, and he?ll work consistently for another 30 years. But if an actress hasn?t been successful by the time she?s 35, her career is pretty much over.

Always looking her very best, Kate Hudson models some yummy swimwear on the March 2016 cover of SELF magazine.
The mother-of-two insists that despite her flawless figure, she really isn?t a stickler for only eating health food- "I like living my life?I'm not highly regimented? If I want to go out and eat at a restaurant with amazing food, I'll do that, like, once a week where I'm not thinking about it. I want to indulge! I want to do things that are not necessarily healthy sometimes."
Kate also advocates worrying more about the inner-being than the outer appearance- "Find the place where you feel really good in yourself? We've been programmed to feel like we're under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way. And that's not our fault. That's what culture and society have gifted us as women. Thank you but no thank you."

| Gwyneth Paltrow Covers Glamour March 2016: Relationships Are My Biggest Success | Added 8 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

|
|
|
|
Flashing a flirty smile, Gwyneth Paltrow is featured on the front of the March 2016 issue of Glamour magazine.
In her interview, the ?Sliding Doors? dame chats about the naming process for her Juice lipstick colors- ?The line is made in California, so I was thinking of my California posse: Cameron, Blythe, Apple, Drew, Reese, Kate, Chelsea?. If you were to ask me what my biggest success is, it?s that I?ve been able to maintain and nourish my relationships. As you get older, you choose friends based on not only what feels resonant and warm but if they?re bringing something to your life. My women friends are incredibly intelligent. There?s no posturing, no competition. Especially in Los Angeles, I see pockets of friends who are very competitive, and I think, ?What is the point? I would rather be alone in bed with a book than have a girlfriend who is like that.??
Ms. Paltrow also confesses that naysayers sometimes get under her skin- ?Sometimes I?ll get annoyed if someone?s like, ?Goop is so expensive.? I?m like, ?Have you looked at the website? Have you seen the range of price points? ?Cause we sell things that are $8.? I?m like, ?If you want to f--k with me, bring your A-game. At least have all your information.? Once in a while, if I?m exhausted and overwhelmed, I?ll be like, ?Ugh, that bugs me,? or, ?That hurt my feelings.? But very rarely. I don?t lose sleep over it. It?s my business to live my life and learn my lessons. I don?t care what anybody else thinks?. Maybe when I was 25 that would have been different. But I?m 43 years old, and I know who I am, and I own my mistakes. They?re my business. And when somebody who doesn?t know me has an opinion, it?s none of my business.?

| Nicole Kidman works so she won't 'live vicariously through my daughters' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Nicole Kidman covers the new issue of Harper?s Bazaar UK (the March issue). While I?m not crazy about the newsstand cover (that red jacket is meh), the subscriber?s cover (at the end of the post) is really beautiful. As for what Kidman is promoting? I barely know at this point. She was getting magazine covers throughout 2015 to promote Queen of the Desert, Secret In Their Eyes and other films, but some of those films didn?t even get released. Queen of the Desert got pushed to March of this year. Secret In Their Eyes is being released in the UK at the end of February. The point is that she?s promoting something, which will be out at some point. The point of Nicole?s Bazaar interview is that she loves to work and she doesn?t believe in being a stay-at-home mom. Some highlights:
Saying no to stay-at-home motherhood: ?I don’t want to be the mother who lives vicariously through my daughters, so I’m trying to balance it. There was a period where I didn’t do anything, and my mum said, ‘I really think you need to get back and do something?. I want to be around them, I’m the happiest when I’m around them. It’s that simple. But for me to completely give up doing any of this, what would I do artistically??
She believes she conceived Sunday Rose after bathing in a sacred watering hole in Australia: But she said her ‘scientific and agnostic mother’ doesn’t share her belief. ?She says, ?How did I have this changeling child that believes all these things?? But I spent my life trying to get pregnant and I went into the waters up in Kununurra, and suddenly I got pregnant, and so did all the other women who bathed in it on the film.?
What she calls daughters Faith & Sunday: ?The Kittens? because of their ?purring, affectionate natures? They snuggle and they’re very warm.?
[From The Daily Mail]
Before we ever dreamed of Beyonce?s collapsing, pillowy bump, a lot of people thought Nicole faked her pregnancy with Sunday. It was a similar sort of situation with Beyonce ? there were a lot of bump-conspiracies, and Nicole ?lost the baby weight? and got back into her white jeans within a few weeks of giving birth. But if she wants to keep telling the story about the sacred waters, sure. It?s none of my business. Apparently, she also told the magazine that she would love to adopt another child but she thinks ?there’s only so much time.?
As for what she says about working and not wanting to be a stay-at-home mom? I get it. And I even sort of agree with her, as only a child-free woman could. I have no dog in this hunt, but it seems like Nicole is just talking about her experience as a mother, not every woman?s experience. And it also seems like she?s seen women who give up their careers and pour their entire lives into their children, and she?s seen that it doesn?t always end well.

| Hugh Jackman gushes about his wife of 20 years: 'we?ve always done it together' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee Furness are one of those couples who love to talk about how they met and will tell you how much they mean to each other. A lot of people throw shade at Hugh for marrying an older woman who isn’t Hollywood perfect, and he’s been the subject of gay rumors, but to me that just means that he’s dedicated to his wife and isn’t a superficial bastard. Plus he’s such a natural, accomplished entertainer and he can sing and dance with the best of them. That doesn’t make him gay, that just makes him excellent at his job.
Anyway, in a new appearance on Ellen, Hugh talked about meeting his wife, a story which he’s told many times and which you can tell he still loves telling. He was gushing about her this time because their 20th anniversary is coming up, but he usually doesn’t need an excuse.
“She and I met before [I got famous]. It was my fist job and it was…obviously, she’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and it gets better and better,” Hugh, 47, said of Deborra, 60. “I’m kind of really grateful that I met before anything kind of happened, because everything that’s happened in my career and on-screen, off-screen, we’ve always done it together.” He then told the story of how they first got together on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli. “She was the star I had this major crush on her. Everyone did! The whole crew had a crush on her, and I was so embarrassed by that I didn’t talk to her for about a week. When I realized, I didn’t talk to her. About a week later, I go, ‘This I silly.’ I had a dinner party and I invited her over and about 20 other people, and she said, ‘What’s the matter? Have I annoyed you? You’re not talking to me anymore. What have I done wrong?’ All the sudden I was?I’d had a couple ??and I said, ‘Look, I got a crush on you. I’ll get over it.’ And she went, ‘Oh, really?’ I was like, ‘Oh, this is bad.’ She goes, ‘Yeah, I got one on you, too.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, great.’ So, that was it.”
Here they are today, “21 years and two kids later.”
[From E! Online]
I watched that episode as I’ve been taping Ellen and I have to say that Hugh adores his wife. To all you cynical bitches – I get it, most of the time I’m with you, but this is an exception. I’ve seen both Hugh and Deborra Lee interviewed many times and they’re the real deal. Yes it makes me jealous but at least the woman who bagged Hugh isn’t some Victoria’s Secret model (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you know what I’m saying, she has other attributes).
Hugh was promoting his upcoming film, Eddie the Eagle, which tells the true story of the first British Olympic ski jumper, played by Taron Egerton (not
