Here are the last photos from the 2020 Golden Globes, lord what a journey we?ve been on. Is it just me or was this year?s GG ceremony mostly okay? I think I?m getting jaded, because the only thing that really upset me was seeing my nemesis win an award. For this year?s Globes, there wasn?t really one consistent fashion trend either, did you notice that? People wore some tacky, wacky sh-t and some plain sh-t. I hope polka-dots are not on trend this year because? no, I dislike that. Zoe Kravitz wore a variation on two polka-dotted patterns with this Saint Laurent look, which? sucks? Yeah, I?ll say that full on. It sucks. Zoe had her family there though her mom Lisa Bonet wore Fendi, and Jason Momoa wore a muscle shirt under his jacket. It was glorious.

When covering Sandra Bullock recently I realized that the last thing we saw her in was Bird Box, which came out over a year ago. That was how they introduced her last night toom by referencing Bird Box. Where has she been?! Sandra was a presenter and she wore this dramatic Oscar de la Renta gown. The color looked more mustard on screen and it wasnt the best, but it looks worse in these photos. It wasnt that orange. The bottom is too fussy and ruffled for me but I like that she went with a big ball gown.

Sometimes I wonder what I would wear if I had boobs. I might show a little cleavage once in a while, but I wouldnt want to hang out of things. My friends who are lucky that way always tell me what a pain it is, and how I can wear whatever I want. I just want to know what its like to have that problem. There were a lot of cleavagey outfits last night, like Patricia Arquette and Salma Hayek. This looks like two different dresses squeezed into one. Its got a too-tight turquoise bodice in which shes barely contained and a straight white skirt that doesnt seem like it goes with the top at all. I do like the tiny belts at the waist and bust, but does it need that stupid keyhole too? Plus the bodice is brocade, thats overkill. This is Gucci, Salmas husband owns the parent company of that brand and somehow Salma gets fug looks. With Gwyneth Paltrow on the red carpet last night everyone else looked pretty good though. This isnt that bad in comparison.
Sienna Miller was also in Gucci. She looks a little underdone and beachy but this suits her and I like the mix of light colors and fabrics. Its whimsical and just her style.

I will forever stan Cate Blanchett?s style because I think she loves clothes and cares about fashion. She also has the kind of personality and look where she can pull off weird, unconventional stuff. But her Mary Katrantzou look at the Golden Globes was awful! It reminded me of one of those little dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, you remember them? I mean, she?s not the worst dressed! But this was a bad look. The boob cups and the sheer whatever yikes.
Rooney Mara in Givenchy. She was just there as Joaquin Phoenix?s date, right? I don?t remember her presenting. Joaquin won and he couldn?t even really finish his thought when he said her name and it was very sweet. That being said, lord she?s such an odd little goth wood sprite.
Rachel Bilson and Bill Hader made their red carpet couple debut. I guess it was sweet? I don?t know, I still haven?t figured it out. She wore Brock Collection a bit twee.

As you know, Kaiser calls Laura Dern her nemesis. If you want to know more about that, we talked about it on our podcast on episode #37 and this link is queued up to that part. She says Laura Dern overacts and that she rubs her the wrong way. Ive always found Dern harmless, but I used to like her more and am now noticing the things that Kaiser mentions! Plus Enlightened was hard to take and I didnt watch Big Little Lies. Dern won best supporting actress for Marriage Story last night, which could mean that shes going to get an Oscar. Shes been nominated twice before. Laura Dern might get an Oscar before Amy Adams. She was in Saint Laurent and I thought this look was a mess and her hair was awful, but Kaiser actually liked it! Go figure. It does look better in photos than it did on camera and I see the appeal of it now. I think her styling was throwing me off.
Leslie Bibb was in a tiered ruffle sequin gown by Honor. If you look at the bottom you can see that its actually ombre. I don?t think tiered ruffles ever work on dresses and there?s just too much going on with this and her face says it all.

Taylor Swift was nominated for a Golden Globe for her original song for CATS: The Movie. She did not win. I don?t even think it was some kind of anti-snake thing or anything personal against Taylor. I just think Cats was awful and no one wants to give it any awards. It?s not Taylor?s fault. Still, she came out and tried a look and here we are. This gown is Etro and I?m honestly still working out my feelings about it. Something nice: I kind of like the fabric and the colors and the pattern. Something not nice: the cutout sucks and it ruins the fit of the bodice of the dress. All in all, not the best on Tay but far from the worst. Also: no bangs? She?s a whole new Snake!
Jodie Comer wore Mary Katrantzou, a rather epic affair with giant shoulders, which was one of the design trends of the night. Personally, I?m starting to feel like Comer is the New Blanchett. Does anyone else get that vibe? Shape-shifter who looks radically different every time we see her, and someone who can pull off weird and exciting looks. Anyway, I like that she went BIG and I appreciate that she didn?t play it safe.
Rose Leslie is so pretty and talented, why is she A) wearing this boring-ass Elie Saab gown and B) still with Kit Harington? Oh well.

For some reason, I thought Margot Robbie would be wearing Tom Ford at the Globes, because I thought she had a lowkey sponsorship with Tom Ford?? But no, she doesn?t? anymore. Nowadays, she?s lowkey contractually obligated to wear Chanel on every major awards red carpet. And as with so many Chanel girls, I often feel like it?s not the best fit. I?m kind of here for the top of this imagine if the whole dress was made from that embroidered material. It would be very interesting, possibly even beautiful. The white skirt throws it off, imo. Maybe if the skirt was black? Her styling is really dull too she was probably aiming for ?beach waves and lowkey makeup? but she just looks too informal.
Margaret Qualley also got to wear Chanel and this look has a more ?Chanel? feel. It has beautiful construction, but it?s kind of boring. She?s so pretty.

This is a post dedicated to some of the women in Pink at last nights Globes. Kirsten Dunst is so happy and adorable that everyone just notices her beautiful smile. This pale Pink frilly Rodarte dress is lacking, but there were so many worse looks last night and look at how cute she is with Jesse Plemons! Theyre couples goals. Kirsten was nominated for best actress in a TV series for her work in Showtimes On Becoming a God in Central Florida. That category went to Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

I was low-key shocked by the number of women dressed in Dior at last night?s Golden Globes. Usually, Dior only dresses a handful of A-listers and they make sure that everything is on-point. This year, they dressed about a dozen women and most of this sh-t looked like knock-off Versace or budget Rodarte. It was definitely weird there was no rhyme or reason to any of the Dior looks. Anyway, here?s Charlize Theron in Dior. I thought this was Versace, but? like, weird Versace. I?ll give the look some credit: the corset/bustier thing was impeccable. It was the lime green fabric drape that threw off the look. Plus, I just haven?t enjoyed Charlize?s styling recently she doesn?t know what to do with her hair and it shows.
Awkwafina wore Dior and she won Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical for The Farewell. Which is a great little movie and I?m so happy for her, and happy for the film. This look is very? Awkwafina.
Dakota Fanning?s Dior look seemed? okay. I?m okay with it.
Helen Mirren?s look was my favorite Dior. She?s so beautiful and this is so classy!

By the time Michelle Williams came onto the carpet, I had forgotten that I was actually waiting to see her. We knew that she announced her surprise pregnancy last week, ahead of the Golden Globes, because she didn?t want to suddenly debut her bump out of nowhere. But wow, what a rollout. Michelle walked the carpet with her (still-married?) lover Thomas Kail, who directed her in Fosse/Verdon. They were both married when they worked together. Her marriage fell apart soon after. We don?t know when his marriage fell apart. It does look like Michelle is about five months pregnant, I would say. So? the math is there. Hilariously, some Getty photos ID Thomas as ?Phil Elverum.? Nope. And for old time?s sake, Michelle brought Busy Philipps along as her second date too.
Michelle?s look here was Louis Vuitton and honestly? I don?t hate it. When she was single, she wandered around red carpets looking like a Civil War ghost and/or a retro widow, and now that she?s in love and knocked up, it?s all about soft, creamy orange? The message has been received.
People are still talking about Michelle?s Globes victory well-deserved for Fosse/Verdon and her speech, where she spoke about a woman?s right to choose.
CB tweeted that it felt like Michelle was making a convoluted argument that every woman has the right to make reproductive choices and/or slay as many married dudes as they want. Which? is true. Women should be 100% free to make all of those choices for themselves.
I feel like Lucy Boynton was trying to do a Michelle Williams thing and maybe Lucy pulled it off better than MW! She also wore Louis Vuitton? I mean, it?s just tin foil, but it sort of works. She?s an actress in her own right, but she attended as her boyfriend Rami Malek?s date.

Just recently I was describing what its like to do fashion commentary, and I used Sofia Vergara as an example. I said Do you know how Sofia Vergara always wears fitted mermaid dresses? Well you notice when she sticks or veers from that look and mention it. So here she is in a red Dolce & Gabbana strapless gown with silver sequin piping. This is her typical look but she still worked it. I loved her giant hoop earrings they were amazing. Sofia presented with Matt Bomer and she called him out for saying one of her lines. Some people thought that was a bit, but I though she was just standing up for herself. She wore Dolce & Gabbana though, and given how problematic those designers are this was absolutely a choice.
Also in a fitted dress with sequin piping was Molly Sims. I dont have a designer ID on this and she posted three photos to Instagram without mentioning it! I think I would like this better without the ruffles. The top half is gorgeous.

Ana De Armas was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Knives Out and she was also a presenter. Ana honestly had one of my favorite looks of the night this Ralph & Russo looked absolutely amazing in motion, both on the red carpet and when she was on stage with Daniel Craig. In photos, it does look slightly flat, but trust me? this is a gorgeous gown, tailored perfectly.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge also wore Ralph & Russo an impeccable tuxedo suit which was SO on-brand for her. I love all of this, honestly. Phoebe won for Best Actress for Fleabag, and Fleabag picked up the Best Comedy award. The Hot Priest Andrew Scott- was there!
Olivia Colman wore Emilia Wickstead and it was? not great. I don?t think Olivia really knows or cares about fashion, I think she probably just wears whatever her stylist tells her to wear. This was a mess, but it?s fine. While she won a Globe for The Crown, she gave a shout-out to Fleabag in her speech. Which was great!

We?ve seen it happen to many a Fashion Girl after years of slaying every red carpet when they?re just a presenter, suddenly Fashion Girls FREEZE when they?re actually nominated for something. That happened to Jennifer Lopez. She didn?t know how to present herself! Should she go with some sexy, curve-hugging number? Should she go full-glam diva? Should she go for Dripping In Jewels? She couldn?t decide. So we get this absolute mess of a Valentino gown. I felt sorry for her, because her face telegraphed the fact that she knew she made a huge mistake. She didn?t strut around the Golden Globes red carpet like she owned it. Poor Jen. It also sucks that she lost the Best Supporting Actress Globe to Laura fking Dern. Well, at least she didn?t have to pose with a Globe statue wearing this stupid dress?
The gown in Valentino. The Valentino people should have talked her out of it. She should have talked herself out of it! She must have been thinking about Christmas gifts when she chose this dress. Ugh, I feel so bad for her. She froze, it happens to the best of us. I actually like the styling hair, makeup and jewelry are all on point. A-Rod looks Botoxed though.

It felt like people legitimately gasped when Gwyneth Paltrow came onto the Golden Globes red carpet, and the gasps were not because Gwyneth looked amazing. In fact, I?m struggling to even remember a moment in the recent past when Gwyneth walked a carpet looking great. But this was something else? this was Lena Dunham-esque fashion trolling. This was ?look at me, I?m so avant-garde, you don?t even understand what I?m wearing.? Either that or Gwyneth has zero style and her stylist absolutely loathes her. Her hair stylist and makeup person must hate her too, by the way.
Gwyneth wore this Fendi gown and it was entirely inappropriate. It was completely unlined, and I feel like the matching ?panties? were sheer enough that we could make out everything too. The back view was a giant YIKES. Gwyneth probably thinks that she can wear anything off the runway, but there?s a reason why so few actresses do that most women don?t WANT their ruffled ass hanging out at the Globes.
Goop was there as executive producer on her husband?s show, The Politician, where she also has a supporting role. But she also got to present Best Supporting Actress to Laura Dern, and it was just? Peak Nemesis, or something. Ugh, I?m so mad about all of this! It drives me crazy that Gwyneth thinks her brassy blonde hair still needs a center part. Her makeup is awful too.
