Making her promotional rounds, Katy Perry was spotted out and about in New York City on Tuesday afternoon (August 24) .
After running errands in a black and white dress with Pink cardigan earlier in the day, the "Hot n Cold" singer later stepped out clad in a tight, sexy red number with heels.
During a recent visit to MTV News, Miss Perry explained a little bit about what?s behind her creative songs. She told, "There's a lot of puns. You know, when I learned how to write a song, the person that was kind of teaching me was an amazing songwriter, and he was like, 'Don't forget about the double entendres. Don't forget about the puns.?
Katy continued, ?Don't forget that one word can have two meanings.' So I'm always kind of looking for that one thing that's really normal that you can make twisted."

Making what's shaping into a great night even better, Jewel has been announced as a brand new performer at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.
Being held at L.A. Live's Nokia Theatre on August 29 at 8PM ET on NBC, the "Foolish Games" singer is said to be taking the stage during the in memoriam tribute timeslot.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Jewel will be performing "an acoustic version of the previously unreleased song 'The Shape of You,' which is about the loss of her friend."
As for the Emmy Awards ceremony, the show is being hosted by Jimmy Fallon with stars such as Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Sofia Vergara, Jon Hamm, Ricky Gervais and Matthew Perry among the presenters.

The socialite/designer looked lovely as she walked the runway in several getups during the Charlie Brown fashion show at Sydney Town Hall, Sydney, Australia.
Prior to the show, Nicky was seen throwing back a couple of cans of Red Bull and getting her game face on.
Of her selected outfits for the event, Nicky told press, "Usually I wear dresses that are much shorter," though she looked fabulous all the same.

TMZ first reported that Loeb was injured in a car crash at about 4:30pm in Bel Air, CA and was taken to the hospital with a broken leg and gash on his chest.

Earlier today, the ?Every Day is a Winding Road? songstress opened the Sheryl Crow Imaging Center in Los Angeles as part of the Pink Lotus Breast Center.
In a statement, Sheryl said, "Joining forces with the Pink Lotus Breast Center has provided me with a wonderful platform to create awareness and encourage the millions of American women over 40 to get their annual mammogram.?
"Detecting breast cancer early is a woman's best chance at survival, and digital full-field mammography is the gold standard of early detection."

Unfortunately accidents happen and Sofia Vergara's boyfriend Nick Loeb was involved in a serious car crash on Monday afternoon (August 23).
According to TMZ, the ?Modern Family? actress? beau was rushed to a hospital in Bel Air with a severely broken leg and a deep gash across the chest.
After being taken to the hospital at about 4:30 pm yesterday, the 35-year-old remains in the intensive care unit.
Vergara and Loeb have been dating since January after reportedly meeting a Golden Globes party.

At first, I only saw Drew Barrymore?s dress - at last night?s premiere of Going the Distance - from the waist up, and I thought it was a cheap-looking cocktail dress. I was very disappointed, because Drew recently brought the glamour and the beauty to a recent red carpet for Nylon - she looked amazing then, not so much last night. I don?t care for her ?growing out the blonde? hair (which needs to be brushed), and now that I?ve seen that the dress is a full-length gown, I still think it looks cheap. Very Vegas showgirl.
As far as Drew?s costar and on-and-off boyfriend Justin Long? well, who knows what?s going on with them? Allegedly, they quietly split up a few months ago, but most people have noted that Justin and Drew seem back ?on? for this promotional tour. Friends with benefits? Sure. Especially if the dude loves going downtown, as Justin Long seems to adore. I don?t really find Justin attractive, but he seems like he?s a nice guy, so whatever.
Two more people of note were at the premiere - Christina Applegate and her baby bump in a vivid purple, and Kate Beckinsale. Now, Christina is actually in the movie. Beckinsale is not. But Kate still tried to out-do the stars!

She?s on top of her game with her new album Teenage Dream dropping today, and Katy Perry's new song ?Firework? is one of the most memorable tracks on the record.
Of the song, Katy explained, "I wanted to go in with Stargate, and I finished off with a couple of songs, one song called 'Firework,' which is probably my favorite song off the record. Like something I'm most proud of."
"People are coming back and almost adopting it as their own anthem, and it's hard, I think, to write an anthem that's not cheesy. And I hope that this could be something in that category. I hope this could be one of those things where it's like, 'Yeah, I want to put my fist up and feel proud and feel strong.'?

The latest pregnancy rumors about Mariah Carey, 40, were sparked from an appearance she made in Brazil over the weekend looking bigger than usual. Not only had Mariah gained weight, but she was also wearing looser clothes, which made it seem like she might have something to hide. Mariah likes to dress like she’s 20 years younger and favors outfits that are much too tight and short. If she’s wearing clothes that are more modest it definitely seems like a sign.
Mariah’s husband Nick Cannon was asked on his radio show whether she was pregnant. He skirted around the issue but seemed to suggest that she was but that he couldn’t say anything about it yet:

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again ? when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her,” Cannon, 29, said on his radio show Monday on New York’s 92.3 FM.
Elaborating on a Twitter message he posted in June, Cannon stresses that the issue is delicate. “We all know it’s extremely personal, and it is for a woman to deal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff,” he says.
But he explains that if there ever is news to announce, the couple want to “strategically plan it out properly” to avoid “media hoopla.”
“That’s something you want to keep near and dear and as close to you as you possibly can, until you’re 100% sure, in any situation,” he says. “There’s a certain time limit you’re supposed to wait before you can actually officially say that you are and all that stuff. You don’t want to mislead anybody.”

The thing I take away from Nick’s statement more than anything is that he’s really devoted to Mariah and is there for her no matter what. I’ve seen this guy gush over Mariah in interviews and you can tell that he adores her and puts her on a pedestal. It sounds like he’s half-confirming that she’s pregnant but that it’s early days and he can’t say anything at this point. These two have surprised me with how long they’ve lasted after a very hasty wedding over two years ago. They’ve said many times that they want to start a family and that it’s a priority for them. If they’re pregnant, then congratulations! Mariah has been rumored to be undergoing IVF and it must have been a rough road to get to this point. You can understand why they wouldn’t say anything about it if she is pregnant. We’ll see though. Nick also recently said that Mariah would be interested in being a judge on American Idol “if she has enough time” and “if they could work with her schedule.”

Some of us theorized that she was pregnant again, and that?s why she was trying to hide her waist with sketchy fabric. It was just a theory - and it?s a theory that Radar?s ?fashion experts? have picked up on. Note: there isn?t even some anonymous ?source? or ?insider? claiming that Angelina is pregnant. It?s just a bunch of fashion-watchers who are like ?Hey, she?s wearing a sack! Pregnant much??
Drawstring waists, maxi-dresses and asymmetrical ruffles are fueling rumors of a seventh baby for Angelina Jolie! When the 35-year-old Salt star was photographed walking with children Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh through an airport in Tokyo last month, the tight pants and designer heels that have become accustomed to her ?look? were gone.
Instead, the high fashion had been replaced with a new and simple ensemble: a drawstring waist little black dress and thongs. Since then, Jolie has paraded a month long fashion parade of hot maternity trends, leading experts to think she is showing off all the tell-tale signs of how a woman hides the early stages of a baby bump.
RadarOnline.com consulted fashion stylist Colin Megaro, who says Jolie has been sporting a series of dramatic floaty evening dresses on the red carpet as she makes her way around the world promoting her new flick.

A look through the fashion archives shows how the mother of six stopped showing off her figure in seamless and body conscious fashions. She has been strategically cinching, draping and covering up her midsection in a variety of clever tricks — sometimes even using her arms for extra coverage!
Angelina hit the Berlin premiere of Salt on August 18 in a BCBG Max Azria wrap gown, which coincidentally was the same designer who dressed her for several red carpet events back in 2008, when she was pregnant with the twins!
?This drop waist dress with long lean lines could definitely be concealing a baby bump,? says Colin. ?The slack fitted wrap top, which drapes across her front leaves plenty of room for any extra weight in the mid-section.?

During last week?s sack parade, her boobs didn?t look bigger. Second ?tell? - she gains a little weight in her upper arms. That was there - her arms didn?t look like tiny little twigs. It’s hard to believe that anything we hear from Heidi and Spencer is legitimate. Their whole relationship seemed manufactured for publicity, as did Heidi’s plastic surgery, Spencer’s breakdown, and their breakup/divorce. Right before the weekend we heard that Spencer was shopping sex tapes featuring himself and Heidi as well as another featuring Heidi and Playmate Karissa Shannon. Porn giant Vivid confirmed the news and said that it was all up to Heidi whether or not they would release it. Heidi denied that any sex tapes existed, although Shannon admitted there was one with her and Heidi. Heidi and Spencer then cursed each other out through Twitter.
Now these two have been spotted together in Costa Rica, where Heidi is said to have gone to escape the sex tape rumors. They quickly scattered when the paparazzi came around and tried to make it look like they weren’t together. Spencer and Heidi offered some lame excuse to People Magazine about how they had to share custody of their dogs and how Spencer didn’t have anywhere to live. There are several scenarios that came to mind when I heard this news, but the ones that stick out are:
1. Heidi and Spencer are conspiring to release the sex tapes together and were busted together in Costa Rica
2. Heidi and Spencer are conspiring to release the tapes and also conspired to get themselves photographed to add to the suspense and get people talking about it. (If they did it this way, I have to admit it was pretty clever.)
3. Heidi was initially opposed to releasing the tapes, but gradually came around when she realized how much money was on the table.
There are surely other options, but that’s all I can come up with at this point. It seems like one of those scenarios is accurate, because the head of Vivid headed to Costa Rica to work out a deal with Heidi.
Heidi Montag is privately acknowledging the existence of her sex tape … TMZ has learned — and sources close to the former “Hills” star tell us she’s finally willing to talk business.
We’re told Heidi has agreed to listen to Vivid Entertainment honcho Steve Hirsch when he arrives in Costa Rica to make an offer on the footage … some of which is said to contain girl-on-girl action with Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon.
We’re told Heidi wants Hirsch to provide her with the sales numbers on Kim Kardashian’s sex tape — which was also released through Vivid — because Heidi may be interested in working out a “back-end deal” if Steve can’t offer enough cash up front to satisfy Montag.
Hirsch told us he’s leaving for Costa Rica sometime next week.

There are also several scenarios for their relationship, as in - they broke up for publicity, they did break up legitimately but are off and on, or they broke it off and are still friends. I don’t really care what’s going on with them, but I’m still curious. These two are experts at playing the media and I wouldn’t put it past them to stage this whole divorce and sex tape controversy for publicity and cash. They’re also pretty shallow dumb people and I doubt they could fake Spencer’s craziness, Heidi’s body dysmorphia and their relationship problems, whether they’re still together or not. They’re messed up people making money off selling their lives. It’s not that much of a stretch to believe that Heidi was in on this sex tape scheme from the beginning.

Miley Cyrus wants to put the final nail in Hannah Montana’s Disney themed coffin. The 17 year-old is set to star as a teen engaging in risky behavior in a movie called LOL: Laughing Out Loud. Twilight’s Ashely Greene will play Cyrus’ main enemy while Demi Moore will play her mom. Hollywood Life has the details from the script while MTV has an interview from April with Demi confirming the casting.

OK, so there?s no pole dancing in this coming-of-age story for the Generation Z crowd, but Miley DOES indulge in some pretty racy teenage behavior. As Lola ? who is described as a ?teenage Aphrodite, minus the confidence? ? the 17-year-old actress loses her virginity, talks about sex incessantly, smokes marijuana, kisses one of her two best female friends on the lips, gets wasted and accidentally shows her mom, Ann, (Demi Moore) her Brazilian wax. Exactly ? Hannah Montana she is NOT.
We loved this line best, mostly because we?ve been harboring similar thoughts about Miley and her risque new look.?You?re my daughter,? Ann tells Lola ? whose nickname happens to be LOL, ?And I won?t let you turn into a porn star!? LOL indeed.
While Miley?s turn as a soul-searching teen who wants to try EVERYTHING (bad and good) in life isn?t such a hard line to swallow, Ashley Greene?s metamorphosis is a lot more fun to read! The Twilight star plays completely against type as Lola?s arch-nemesis, the slutty (and aptly named) Ashley ? who?s nicknamed ?The Post It? because ?she sticks to every guy.?

At least Cyrus didn’t go “full porn star” like Lindsay Lohan, but this latest role doesn’t bode well for her career. Disney will not be thrilled about this. New episodes of Hannah Montana are still airing, with the final season lasting until Spring, 2011. Still, Miley is doing a good enough job shedding her Disney image on her own through various states of undress and suggestive performances. She doesn’t need a controversial role to move that process along, but of course she’s taking one. She’s Miley and she’s just going to “be herself.”
In that interview in April, Demi Moore said she had just started working with Miley and found her “incredibly grounded.” She also added that Miley “is a true professional, and she truly has a wonderful family.” A wonderful family that supports Miley in whatever it is she wants to do that will make them money. Miley turns 18 on November 23.

Continuing their promotional tour, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of their new movie ?Going the Distance? last night (August 23).
The ?Never Been Kissed? babe and the ?Accepted? stud both looked to be having a marvelous time as they arrived at Grauman?s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Set to open in theaters nationwide on September 3rd, ?Going the Distance? also stars Christina Applegate, Charlie Day, and Ron Livingston.
The movie?s studio just released another trailer for the film, featuring more dialogue and scenes of the characters interacting. Smells like the date movie of the season!

The "Twilight" hottie savored every moment alongside her "Camp Rock" beau, with the twosome holding hands during each and every break in the action.
As first reported by GossipCenter, Miss Greene and Mr Jonas sealed the deal on their relationship status this past Friday (August 20), as the pair were snapped smooching in New York City.
The coupledom comes as Joe is in the midst of touring and promoting "Camp Rock 2" - which premieres on the Disney Channel on September 2nd.
