| Hugh Grant, 57, is expecting his third child with Anna Eberstein, fifth child overall | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did anyone else do a double-take when Hugh Grant came on-stage at the Golden Globes to present the clip from Dunkirk? I second-guessed myself for a moment – was Hugh Grant in Dunkirk? No, he wasn?t. He?s just British, and Dunkirk is about British people, so I guess the Hollywood Foreign Press was like ?sure, close enough.? Which is how Hugh Grant came to attend the Globes. He brought along his girlfriend Anna Eberstein. I think they?ve been kinda/sorta together for something like four years or so, although it?s difficult to know for sure. You know why? Because Hugh Grant impregnated Anna around the same time he impregnated another woman, Tinglan Hong. Tinglan was his ex, he bought her a house and they have two babies together. Anna is his on-again/off-again girlfriend and they have two babies together (close in age to Tinglan?s babies). And now Anna is pregnant again.
Hugh Grant is reportedly set to become a father for the fifth time. The 57-year-old actor’s girlfriend Anna Eberstein’s mother Susanne reportedly spoke to Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet, saying: ‘I’m very happy to be getting another grandchild. She’s due rather soon.’
Hugh and Anna, who attended the Golden Globes together on Sunday evening, have two young children together – a son John, born in 2012, and a second child, born in December 2015. MailOnline has contacted representatives for Hugh for comment.
The name of their second child remains a mystery, but the birth was confirmed by Anna’s mother to a Swedish newspaper.
[From The Daily Mail]
Due rather soon? I did another double-take. Look at her in these photos from the Globes?? She?s barely showing! But there were other photos of Hugh and Anna in LA and she did have a sizeable bump, but I still don?t think she?s due very soon. But whatever. Who would have ever guessed that Hugh Grant would be doubling down so hard on fatherhood at the age of 57? He isn?t interested in marrying any of his baby-mamas, but I guess that?s okay with them. Now I wonder if we?re going to find out that Tinglan is expecting another baby too.

| Christian Bale seems to think that romantic comedies are beneath him | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I don?t give Matthew McConaughey a lot of credit for most things, but I?ll give him this: he is good at being a romantic lead. So is Keanu Reeves, so is Tom Hanks, so is Colin Firth, so is Hugh Grant, so is Kumail Nanjiani. Those are actors who are great as ?falling in love on-screen.? They are open to having great chemistry with a leading lady. This used to be a given with actors: they would need to be good at romance on-screen. But it?s fallen by the wayside over time, concurrent with the rise of superhero films, honestly. Few major actors these days are open to playing romantic leads or even reading romantic-comedy scripts. Christian Bale is one of those actors. It?s weird, because he?s so talented, I think he would be great at anything he wanted to do. But when asked about doing a rom-com, he scoffed and dissed the whole genre, like rom-coms are beneath him. He also said a lot of sh-t about why he loves to do those drastic physical transformations and more in this Guardian interview:
How he gained weight to play Dick Cheney: ?I ate a lot of pies? I?ve got to stop doing it. I suspect it?s going to take longer to get this off. These pants are one of the few pairs I?ve got that have these straps on the side so I can still fit into ?em.? A fluctuating waistline, he says, has consequences. ?I?m not big on shopping, so you end up with a lot of elasticated things.?
Why he?s obsessed with transforming for roles: ?There is a much easier way, but I can?t do it. I don?t know if it?s because I don?t have any training. I see actors who can just be themselves and then switch and give these really incredible performances, and then switch back to being themselves. I find I start laughing because I?m too aware that it?s still me. So I try to get as distant as possible. Otherwise, I can?t do it? It?s helpful not to look like yourself. If I look in the mirror and go, ?Ah, that doesn?t look like me,? that?s helpful.?
When he lost all of that weight for The Machinist: ?It?s an amazing experience doing that. When you?re so skinny that you can hardly walk up a flight of stairs ? you?re, like, this being of pure thought. It?s like you?ve abandoned your body. That?s the most Zen-like state I?ve ever been in my life. Two hours sleep, reading a book for 10 hours straight without stopping ? unbelievable. You couldn?t rile me up. No rollercoaster of emotions.? Alas, it doesn?t last. ?As soon as you start putting the food back in your stomach, the rollercoaster comes back.?
White patriarchy: ?Everything is run by old white men. The richness that we could all enjoy if we started embracing a much wider variety of sources of storytelling from women, from minorities.?
The Weinstein scandal: ?I can?t see that this will become a footnote and be swept under the rug. It does feel like it will change…Some people might call me almost reclusive. Nobody gossips with me. I was clueless. If I?m not making a film, I don?t really socialise with that many people who make films. The casting couch, yes, I?d heard of that. But specifics? No, nothing at all. Do I believe that it has all been happening? Absolutely.?
Whether he would consider doing a romantic comedy: Bale bats the question back with what sounds like a challenge. ?Have you ever enjoyed a romantic comedy?? I pause and he presses the point. ?Have you ever enjoyed a romantic comedy?? A few, I say, but my mind blanks. ?Can you name ?em?? Er, When Harry Met Sally. ?That?s going back quite a ways, isn?t it? You?re hard pressed.? He shakes his head. ?I was asked to do a romantic comedy recently and I thought they?d lost their minds. Cats have those insane half hours every evening. I think it must have been that for the production company. I don?t know why anyone would ever offer me a romantic comedy. I find American Psycho very funny.?
[From The Guardian]
I have the feeling that Leonardo DiCaprio probably thinks the same thing about rom-coms at this point too – like, ?why would I bother to ?fall in love? on-screen with some 30-something woman when the ?real acting? is getting groped by a CGI bear?!?? This is part of male fragility too, let?s face it: actors like Bale and DiCaprio think that being romantic or funny or both is somehow ?less than? play-acting hypermasculinity. Or maybe I?m just overanalyzing and Bale is just critical of how few good romances and romantic comedies there are these days. But why do I think that if Ghost Nora Ephron made a baby with Richard Curtis and that baby wrote the most brilliant, touching and funny rom-com script, Bale still wouldn?t want it?

| Angelina Jolie wore black Valentino to the National Board of Review Awards | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Just FYI, I think I?m going to end up writing like three or four stories about the photos from the National Board of Review awards last night, because sh-t got LIT, fashion-wise and gossip-wise. I had forgotten this, but the NBR recognized Angelina?s First They Killed My Father with the Freedom of Expression Award. They also gave the Freedom of Expression Award to John Ridley?s Let It Fall: Los Angeles, 1982-1992. FTKMF was not recognized as the NBR?s Best Foreign Film or even one of their ?top foreign films,? but I guess they wanted to give Jolie some kind of recognition. So Angelina did turn up, with her daughters Shiloh and Zahara, and with Loung Ung (from whose memoir the film is based).
First, the fashion notes? Angelina has been waiting for the #WhyWeWearBlack movement for a long time. I bet you she wears all-black the whole year! In solidarity, of course, but also because that?s her default anyway. She actually wore a great black dress – this is by Valentino. It?s sacky and lovely. She paired it with Barollo Italy shoes and Forevermark earrings.
I don?t have the IDs on what Zahara and Shiloh were wearing, but it looks like Shiloh wore a great little tuxedo (with no tie) and Zahara got an elegant black dress pantsuit. Shiloh?s arm was in a sling – apparently, Angelina took the kids to Lake Tahoe for the holidays, and Shiloh broke her collarbone while skiing. Shiloh often comes across – in Angelina?s interviews – as the most adventurous of all the kids, and the possibly the most sporty. She was probably on the ski slopes, pretending she was Shaun White and? oh well. The kid seems to be fine! Reportedly, Shiloh?s broken collarbone is why Maddox wasn?t Angelina?s date to the Golden Globes – Maddox stayed home with Shi, and Pax was his mom?s date.
Here?s part of her speech – I wish I had the full video!

| Kelly Clarkson is 'not above' spanking her kids: 'I find nothing wrong with a spanking' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
When I was a kid, growing up in the South, most parents would physically punish their kids. I?m sure the no-spanking movement was already taking hold in other parts of the country at that time, but it?s true that many Southern parents grew up with ?whoopings? or spankings or some kind of physical punishment, and they did the same to their kids. Nowadays, it absolutely feels like Parents Who Spank are an oddity, a throwback, like their methods are bizarre and arcane. Anyway, in what I?m sure will be a major throwdown on the mommy blogs, Kelly Clarkson said this week that she?s ?not above? spanking her kids. I would assume she?s just talking about her daughter, who is 3 years old, and not referencing her baby son.
Kelly Clarkson isn?t opposed to a spanking.
?I?m not above a spanking, which people aren?t necessarily into,? she told a Rochester-based radio station last week. ?And I don?t mean like hitting her hard, I just mean a spanking. My parents spanked me and I did fine in life and I feel fine about it,? she explained. While she, personally, sees nothing wrong with a little spank, she?s aware that it?s a belief not shared by everyone.
?So that?s a tricky thing when you?re out in public, ?cause then people are like, you know, they think that?s wrong or something, but I find nothing wrong with a spanking,? she said, before adding, ?I warn her. I?m like, ?Hi, I?m gonna spank you on your bottom if you don?t stop right now. Like, this is ridiculous.’?
The pop star, 35, made clear that her southern upbringing informs her belief about spanking as a form of discipline.
?I?m from the South, y?all, so we get spankings,? she said. ?My mom would call the principal if I ever ended up in the principal?s office and give permission for her to spank me?I?m a well-rounded individual with a lot of character, so I think it?s fine.?
Clarkson shares daughter River Rose, 3, and son Remington Alexander, 1, with husband Brandon Blackstock. But the ?American Idol? winner is done having kids, as she revealed that she got her tubes tied and Blackstock had a vasectomy following Remington?s birth.
[From Page Six]
I feel like this is very much ?different strokes for different folks? but I?m saying that because – to me – nothing Kelly says reads as some kind of confessional that she?s an abusive parent. Some parents spank, most don?t, and it?s a choice. Again, that?s how I see it, and I?m speaking as a childfree woman who chuckles to myself whenever I see a child acting like a melodramatic brat in public, especially when the mother is trying to calm the child down with all of those trendy methods currently in fashion. To me, it?s not so much pro or anti spanking, it?s pro or anti discipline. There are a million ways to effectively discipline your kids that don?t involve any kind of physical punishment, and it?s clear that Kelly is using ?spanking? as a threat and some kind of warning system when River is misbehaving. There are some parents who spank who have well-adjusted kids, and some parents who spank and their kids are totally traumatized and f–ked up. Who knows how Kelly?s kids will end up? I don?t know. But I bet they won?t misbehave much in public.

| Helena Bonham Carter in talks to play Princess Margaret on The Crown | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I am currently obsessed with season two of The Crown. The same was true of season one but it was different because I knew its history better so I was able to sort fanciful from fact. This season, I shout, ?Wait, but did that actually happen?!? every other scene. I have two episodes left and I?m trying to spread them out so I can savor each moment. I just finished the Kennedy episode and, accepting how embellished it was, it still took an emotional toll. The cast is fantastic *standing O for all*.
Season two ends in the year 1964. Season three will likely skip ahead to the early 1970s. We know Olivia Coleman will be taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy who’s been amazing in her two seasons. I?m biased because I think Olivia could play a mulberry bush convincingly so I think she is a lovely successor to Claire. The current role being filled is that of the queen?s sister, Princess Margaret, who was played by Vanessa Kirby in seasons one and two. Vanessa was as good as Margaret as Claire was as QEII. She personified ?tragic beauty.” So who has the chops to take over? Netflix thinks HELENA BONHAM CARTER does.
The ?Ocean?s 8? actress is currently in talks to play Princess Margaret in the upcoming season of Netflix?s royal drama ?The Crown,? multiple outlets have confirmed.
Series creator Peter Morgan reportedly has a six-season plan in place that involves new actors joining the cast every two seasons to play older versions of the characters. Bonham Carter is ?all but confirmed? to replace actress Vanessa Kirby, who delivered a standout performance this past season as the youngest daughter of King George VI.
?I?m just so excited about whoever gets to do it because they?ve definitely got the coolest stuff coming up. Bring on the drama!? Kirby said of her replacement in December. ?I would have loved to have done it. I absolutely love to do all the blazing rows and getting drunk and just all of it. But I suppose I was lucky enough to have two seasons, so I could be more grateful, really.?
[From Huffington Post]
What do you think? I like it. I think HBC and Olivia are well matched. Margaret?s storyline in season three will focus on her marriage to Tony Armstrong-Jones falling apart so it will be a meaty role. The article mentioned that HBC played Queen Elizabeth (aka the Queen Mum) in The King?s Speech. I remember her performance in that film standing out to me in the way she conveyed so many emotions while never abandoning an air of grace. All of her Tim Burton caricatures aside, I these types of roles are where she shines. As you can tell, I very much want this deal to go through.
Side-bar: Olivia also played the Queen Mum in Hyde Park on Hudson.
The role of Philip has not been discussed but Matt Smith implied on Seth Meyers that he may know who it was (didn’t give it up, though). Again, Matt Smith did such justice to it during his turn (and has practically given me TMJ from clenching my teeth over Philip’s antics). There will also be a new Tony, and we?ve only just been graced with Matthew Goode! Plus, QEII?s children are starting to come of age and Prince Charles will be in his early to mid-twenties, which also means? we?ll meet Camille (Shand) Parker-Bowles for the first time. When I finish season two, I’ll commit much time dream-casting the season three but for now, I’m not quite ready to let my current cast go.
Last note: the exact date range for season three has not been announced but it is thought it could cover 1970-1979. My guess is the season finale will likely be the death of Lord Mountbatten. If so, that will be one powerful episode, I’m sure.
