In career news for Miss Alba, she most recently finished up work on an upcoming animation/adventure/comedy called ?Escape from Planet Earth.?
The actress lends her voice for the family flick along with celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Brendan Fraser and James Gandolfini.

According to an insider, the ?Material Girl? songstress is in serious talks with Coty to develop and release her own signature scent.
One industry source told press, ?When something is done, it?ll be absolutely phenomenal and one of those rare [occurrences] that will turn the industry on its ear.?
?A Madonna scent would make sense [in general]. She is an internationally known celebrity who has appeal to a wide cross-section of demographic and cultural markets. It could be an interesting opportunity for someone.?

Joined by Melissa George and Selma Blair, the famous twins hammed it up at FIJI Water as part of the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week festivities.
In career news, Mary Kate and Ashley have signed on as the new creative directors for the tennis shoe brand Superga.
Ashley explained, "We were at a meeting with Steve [Madden], and we were wearing Supergas - two years later, it kind of fell into our lap. I really don't think there's anything like this brand. It's a tennis-shoe brand with 100 years under its belt. Superga is really a luxurious brand. We are really hoping to bring it back to its roots."

These are some newish photos of Taylor Swift walking to the Rodarte runway show yesterday, during NYFW. Swifty?s dress is Rodarte, obviously. Now? some have claimed that I am prepared to go to war against lace and crochet. They might be right. It?s not that I just flat-out hate lace and crochet, always and forever. I just think that:
1. Head-to-toe lace is always going to be a bad idea. Always. No exceptions.
2. Head-to-toe crochet is always going to be a bad idea. Always. No exceptions.
3. Beware of too much white/cream lace/crochet, because The Doily Effect occurs.
4. Lace is very ?precious? and ?girly? and a little bit goes a long way on adult women.
5. Crochet is very ?grandmother? and a little bit goes a long way on women younger than, say, 70 years old.
6. Beware of The Lingerie Effect - lace details can often look like your panties are showing.
7. Lace and crochet rarely photograph well, so while it might look lovely and pretty in person, the effect will probably be lost on camera.
So, with all of my lace rules/suggestions in place, what do you think of Taylor Swift?s ensemble? Doily Effect. Too precious. Too old. Too much, all over. Plus, the odd ?antiqued? look to the crochet is throwing me off. This goes beyond The Doily Effecct and it looks like Swifty just draped her grandmother?s giant, ratty, old, hand-knitted crochet blanket on herself.
So, let me say something nice about Swifty? she has really nice skin. And I?ve never noticed how pretty her profile is.
Oh, I meant to mention this - Joe Jonas wants Swifty back, according to Us Weekly. If you remember, Swifty and Joe were cuddlefesting, and then he went and cuddlefested Camilla Belle, and then Joe dumped Swifty over the phone. And so Swifty cried and wrote music about Joe, and about Camilla being a giant slut. And now Joe wants Swifty back? Interesting. Your move, Camilla.

Last we left The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Social Network star Brenda Song, she was impregnated by Miley Cyrus’ older brother Trace. “Yikes! By that thing?,” everyone thought.
You can calm down now because in an exclusive statement to Star, Brenda’s mother says “she’s actually not pregnant.” She adds, “It’s very upsetting to our family because of what I’m going through and it’s not how we raised her. She’s very upset.”
I’d be upset too if I got knocked up by Miley Cyrus’ brother. I’d be so devastated I’d walk the streets with a sign on my belly that read “Free Kicks!”

Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake cover the upcoming issue of W Magazine to promote In Time, a futuristic thriller that hits theaters on October 28. Before we get into this interview, it’s necessary to recall the recent Interview Magazine piece where Amanda suggestively told JT that she’d “just stepped out of the shower” when he called so that he would know that she was naked. Yes, she was flirting with him like mad, and I think the girl has some serious self-esteem issues as well. Mostly, I base the latter opinion on a very uncomfortable Craig Ferguson interview where Amanda repeatedly calls herself “boring” and generally looks in danger of shrinking into the chair cushions at any given moment. Interestingly, she also mentioned being in the shower once while talking to Ferguson too, so maybe that’s her default “suggestive” line; but the fact remains that Amanda, while completely gorgeous, really is a pretty boring individual and is only truly fascinating in terms of her dog.
Amanda is a very pretty but odd bird, and Kaiser wanted me to mention that she’s got horrible taste in men, so it would make sense if she’s into JT. After all, she dated Ryan Phillippe and still nurses (as recently as this past June) an on-off relationship with Dominic Cooper, who not only repeatedly cheated on her but also hooked up with Lindsay Lohan while he and Amanda were together. Definitely, JT fits right in Amanda’s “type,” which consists of self-absorbed, cheating douches; yet I think that she could do so much better even though, in this interview, she admits to being fixated with the idea of dating her co-stars. She also brings up Megan Fox too, which makes me think that they got along pretty well while working together and might both suffer from the socially awkward dilemma in their interviews:
On Sex Scenes: Sex scenes are great. A lot of my costars have been sexy guys my age, and so, why not? I’m not going to pretend it’s not fun. Justin was great-he had come from doing Friends With Benefits, where he basically had sex every day at work-and so it was easy for both of us. We just kind of got it on, and then were like, “That was good!”
On Being A Closet N’Sync Fan: I went to four different proms in high school. I was addicted to the whole ballroom thing. But it was embarrassing to be an ‘N Sync fan in high school. I was into them in middle school. I definitely danced in my friend’s basement for hours and hours to ‘N Sync’s first album.
On Kissing Megan Fox: Jennifer’s Body is my favorite movie that I’ve done. It was overlooked in theaters, but it does have a DVD following. I can’t believe nobody wanted to see Megan Fox and me hitting it. They had an extreme close-up of our tongues, and I’m telling you, the thing about the scene is that it’s actually really sexy. For a young girl to say that about her own sex scene-it must be because it’s special. I think Megan and I kissed really well together. We have similar kissing styles and it worked. We got it done for the masses, and the masses still didn’t show up.
On Doing Romcoms: I love acting like I’m in love. It’s a very positive thing. Making a movie is, in general, romantic. It’s very special, very intimate. So you can see why a lot of actors get together. When you’re young, it’s hard not to get together with your costar. But I’ve been doing this long enough to know that it’s usually not the greatest idea.
Isn’t it weird how Amanda’s changed her tune on romcoms? Before now, she only claimed to do them for the money, but now she apparently loves acting like she’s in love. Well, she’s good at doing just that, which is about the extent of my feelings on that subject.
As for JT’s half of the interview, there aren’t many interesting quotes from which to pull, but he does describe his performance in the much maligned Southland Tales as “performance art.” Of course, I have unavoidably started assuming that every time one mentions “performance art,” it’s either a subtle or not-so-subtle dig at James Franco, but that’s probably not the case here because JT goes on to admit that he really didn’t understand the film at all. In all fairness, I don’t think anyone understood Southland Tales, and I only appreciated that movie because Dwayne Johnson was present in all of his overacting, buffed-up glory. Back to this W interview though, which features a few decent self-deprecating tidbits from JT:
On How The Acting Thing Started: In films, I didn’t crave the type of attention I had sort of stumbled into in my music career. And I do not audition well. I’m really not good at it. Early on, I did movies like Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan because the directors didn’t ask me to audition.
On Planning His Every Career Move: It’s different now, but in the past I’ve had some accidents, for sure. I think I have to laugh about the fact that I grew up in public. All these weird stages in my teenage years are documented. Why did no one tell me how terrible some of those outfits were?
On Avoiding Typecasting: After The Social Network, I got two or three sociopaths pitched to me. I didn’t want to play that again. It’s the same for musicians-once you do a song that’s a big deal, you get pitched a similar song. But just like I didn’t want my second album to sound like my first album, I want all the characters I play to be distinct and different.

The interview arrives with slightly overwrought photoshoot featuring JT and Amanda all dolled up as the “picture-perfect political couple.” Obviously, they’re not doing it yet, but Amanda is dropping hints like crazy that she would totally go there if JT was game. Oddly, Life & Style just published a report that JT and the long-suffering Jessica Biel are planning to marry, which was supposedly a condition to their limp-wristed reunion a few months ago even though he’s probably fooling around on Biel again. In Hollywood, it’s a sure sign that a guy won’t marry a girl when he takes his mom to the Oscars instead, right? So Amanda definitely still has a shot at the JT douche ride and definitely meets the height standards for admission.

The sad part is that deforestation (in the Amazon) is increasing at an alarming rate, threatening the forest and our lives, because our health depends on our planet's health. We have to take the steps now to protect our planet's health, to live in harmony with this wonderful planet."

Just a little while ago, CB wrote about Jennifer Garner?s appearance at the TIFF premiere of her new film, Butter. Jennifer looked cute in a Pink cocktail dress, maternity style. Go here to review Garner?s ensemble - it was very appropriate and nice for a TIFF premiere. Unfortunately, Jennifer?s costar Olivia Wilde went all-out in this full-length Marchesa gown which? dear God. It?s too much. Aesthetically, it?s just too much gold, too much white sack action, too much sparkle and too gaudy and cheap-looking, which is pretty typical of Marchesa, in my opinion. But then we have to ask: was this appropriate for a TIFF premiere? Is Olivia Wilde a big enough star where she can get away with wearing a full-length gown and attempting to steal the spotlight from the film?s true star, Jennifer Garner? No, Olivia is not. Olivia is the new Kate Beckinsale. The over-dressed, try-hard fashion girl/actress.
Here?s Ashley Greene, fresh off of trying to ride Gerard Butler?s jock a few nights ago. Ashley wore Oscar de la Renta. Some of these girls? they make impeccably designed and tailored clothes look cheap. It?s just Ashley?s face, and her vibe. She?s wearing de la Renta, but it feels like she?s posing in a bikini on a men?s magazine.

These are photos of Kim Kardashian at yesterday?s Vera Wang show. Kim and Beyonce were both in attendance, and according to reports, they arrived at the same time with their entourages, and a major kafuffle ensued. Kim was wearing Vera Wang - and I don?t think that I?ve ever seen a Wang gown look worse. Why does Kim look so? lumpy? Is she wearing Spanx? Any kind of support garment? Is it just the design of the dress that makes a curvy ?size 4? woman look like lumpy crap?
Vera Wang designed Kim?s wedding dress, so it makes some kind of sense that Kim would make her cat-faced way to the runway show. But Kim is also being criticized, not only for her lumpy, cat-faced appearance, but for showing up in a full-length gown. The Vera Wang show was held during the day? so Kim basically got all dolled up in a gown for a day event lasting about twenty minutes. Ugh. Of course, it might not have been Kim?s fault - Vera might have sent Kim this particular dress to wear, and Kim just complied.
But Kim thought she was like Cleopatra. Because Cleopatra was a cat-faced Botox monster married to a big lug?

Pregnant Jennifer Garner looked rather lovely last night at the TIFF premiere of Butter, wherein she plays a contestant in a butter sculpting contest. The film is a political satire comedy, and Garner’s character is said to be similar to Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman. Producer Harvey Weinstein personally invited Bachman to the movie’s premiere in Iowa. Weinstein issued a statement that Bachman and other Tea Party members could be flown in on his dime. It was a pretty clever marketing strategy on his part.
In terms of this dress, it’s not my favorite. I know I said in our last Garner post that I like to see pregnant ladies in empire waist gowns, but this Valentino number looks a little too fussy and glittery for my tastes. It’s like a Barbie princess dress with all that stuff going on at the bodice and the tulle overlay on the skirt. Her hair and makeup look gorgeous though. She has some very good people. Again, Garner is matching her lipstick to her dress color and it doesn’t look too matchy. She’s so pretty when she’s made up.
Garner gave a quick interview to USA Today at the premiere. She said a few disjointed things about wearing heels while pregnant, keeping her kids entertained in the car and drinking coffee. My impression of her interview could just be based on the way USA Today is editing what she said. It probably flowed better in person, and she probably had to speak to so many people that night that she was talked out.
And she’s spending her day in impressively tall Prada heels. Not that Garner is bragging or anything. “I wore the short ones. Rachel Zoe would not be happy. I have some that are two inches taller that I wore last night,” she says. “You go through a training course when you’re in the Screen Actors Guild. They have an obstacle course in platform heels. Everybody you see out there, we’re all in it.”
Her rules for having a good time here:
“Snacks. We have snacks in the car. We have candy in the car.”
“While I’m very good about caffeine, I am also not afraid once or twice a pregnancy to have a half-caf latte. Today is one of those days.”
“Find ways to be as comfortable as possible and just go with it. It’s not an illness, being pregnant. I’m in the easiest part of it.”

I don’t think that the beginning of pregnancy is the easiest. I was puking all the time the first few months, but she’s probably at least four to five months along now, judging from these photos. She’s worn loose clothing up to now and all of a sudden she looks really pregnant. From what I remember it got easier from then on out. All I can really remember is the beginning and the end of my pregnancy, when I was extremely uncomfortable on both ends. The middle was kind of uneventful, so I guess I know what she’s saying.
Again, Garner is stunning on the red carpet. I’m one of those women who doesn’t go out without putting at least a little makeup on, and usually I put a small amount of thought into my outfit. I don’t get her day-to-day style, especially in comparison to what a knockout she is when she’s done up.
After writing that I saw these photos of Garner at the airport in LA on Monday, on her way to Toronto. She’s wearing makeup and is dressed casually cute. Good job.
And this is what she wore Monday out at TIFF. Holy boobs!

Where to even start? These are new photos of LeAnn Rimes at yesterday?s Herve Leger show. LeAnn is wearing a Leger bandage dress, in this unfortunate shade of pale nude-blush. The color alone washes her out - pale blondes always have to be careful of these pale shades, because THIS could happen and you end up looking like a bleached ghost. But the color isn?t the worst part. The worst part is LeAnn?s crazy body.
First: look at her sickly little chicken legs. Her legs alone tell me that she?s not healthy. Everyone always screams about Angelina Jolie?s skinny little legs, but Jolie?s aren?t anywhere as near as bad as LeAnn?s.
Now, for the bolt-on issue. When I saw photos of LeAnn last week, I asked if anyone else thought LeAnn got her bolt-ons fixed. I?m asking again - look at them! I think she went into to Brandi Glanville?s plastic surgeon (again) and asked him to fix ?the drift? and she also went up a size in implants. Hand to God, they look bigger to me, and they?re not in her armpits anymore.
When Star Mag/Radar caught up with LeAnn at the show, she told them, ?My favorite thing to wear? Nothing!!! I have to be honest I?m so bad! I love clothes, but I?m from the south where we literally walked around barefoot all the time!? She also tweeted: ?Insane Herve Leger collection I just saw backstage! Cage boots..my obsession!?
The dude she?s posing with is Max Azria, by the way. He?s the chief designer for Leger, and he?s the man responsible for the plague of bandage dresses.

Yesterday, Kaiser brought us news of Megan Fox, a.k.a., “Megan 2.0: The Supporting Actress Years,” who has evidently taken some public relations lessons and now speaks quite rationally in terms of waiting to have a baby until she makes more money. In addition, Megan also recently quit her restrictive vegan diet and has subsequently gained a few pounds, which makes her look a lot more human. Here’s a question though — why would a vegan have ever claimed to eat red velvet cake every night before bed? Sure, maybe it’s an adapted “vegan” recipe, but Megan has also said that she’ll starve to death before cooking for herself, so I imagine that her version of veganism was a lot of raw food and, basically, not eating much at all. Why am I even bothering to question Fox’s words? It’s not that I think Megan Fox is a liar, but I do believe that she has a history of making sh*t up in interviews (like when she claimed to be “OCD”), and that’s hard to forget. She probably didn’t say all that wacky stuff out of any malicious intent, but I have a hunch that she’s probably socially awkward to a degree and resorted to making things up to sound more entertaining during interviews.
At any rate, Megan is trying to revamp her reputation in the industry, so during her TIFF promotional duties for Friends With Kids, Fox sat down with Moviefone to discuss her relief at not only trying her hand at ensemble comedy but also playing a character who is “not a jerk” and is “more human” than those she’s taken on before. She also expresses concern that people view her as “a robot,” but that impression might be less about her previous roles and more about her botoxed, Photoshopped face. Just saying.
Speaking of humanization, a strange thing happened during the recent promotion for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon; that is, the boorish behavior of Michael Bay and Shia LeBeouf, which was geared towards promoting the film at the expense of humiliating Megan, actually caused a lot of people to feel sorry for her. Yes, she deserved to be fired for badmouthing Bay in the press, but she didn’t deserve the promotional mudslinging from Bay. She also didn’t deserve to be called a Spice Girl feminist by Shia, nor did he have any right to expose their prior hookup(s) in a Details interview. However upset that Megan might have been about all of this “Boys Club” behavior, she kept her mouth shut in an unprecedented display of restraint. Now, Megan tells Moviefone what she was really thinking during that whole mess:
On Why She Didn’t Defend Herself Against Shia’s Words: I didn’t want to talk about it while they’re on the press tour because I didn’t want to try to throw mud at them. I didn’t want that movie to suffer. Especially because I love Shia. I wanted that movie to do well for him. I didn’t want to have this big media war over something that really was so silly and it would have just been my ego needing to engage in a war, at that point. Of course, there will be a time when I want to tell my side of the story. I just don’t feel it was appropriate while they were promoting the movie. Like, “She’s trying to take away from the movie.” So it was best to let them say what they were going to say. It’s fine.
On Watching Transformers: Dark of the Moon: I haven’t seen it yet, but I will see it. I mean, if they hadn’t been hitting me so hard on the press tour, I would have gone to the theater. But I felt like that would have been a disaster: Me sitting with a packed theater of people watching the movie. So I didn’t go. I mean, I have nothing against watching it. And I love Shia to death; I love him unconditionally. And I love that crew. I’m really close to the hair, makeup and wardrobe that made that movie. I want to see it for them. I know it looked amazing in the trailer. Out of all three trailers, that was the trailer that I was like, “Wow, sh*t, this is a huge movie.” So I think it will be an interesting, fun thing to watch, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
On Her Past Interviews: That’s sort of the most … like the feeling of betrayal — that you have as a celebrity or an actor or entertainer — I think comes from meeting with journalists and feeling like, Hey, I had a good conversation with you, then you read the article and it’s like, Wow! Well, that’s not the angle that I thought you were going to take. You need to sell this magazine, I understand, but, sh*t, I just didn’t realize it was going to go in that direction. So you have to become a little bit jaded with press in that sense. You have to just guard yourself, because you never know what people are going to do. Like I said, I used to have a lot of fun in interviews — I’d be playful, I’d be sarcastic. But there’s too much room for someone to take what I was saying and cut it up, rearrange it, and throw it on “Extra.” It’s insane. You have to be really strong. You have to just shut yourself off to the criticism at some point.
On Being “More Human” In Friends With Kids: I just think the idea is that because most of the way that people have seen me, it’s the glorified pin-up girl with motorcycle boots who is also fighting to save the world. It’s not necessarily someone who you connect with because they’re not real people necessarily who exist like that — the glossy lips in the middle of the desert. In Jennifer’s Body I was this crazy — it’s this wonderful Diablo Cody script, but it’s so kooky and so weird and I was eating people. It’s just a very strange movie. You don’t necessarily see the human side of whoever is playing that person. And I just think the media, in general, I just don’t really get portrayed as someone who has feelings or who is sympathetic. Or I sort of am portrayed as this — I feel — like a self-absorbed ice queen. Maybe. And I think the people who see me in a role that allows me to be more human — I don’t know another word to use to describe it — is why people are saying it’s a good move to have done.
For the most part I’m really strong with how much bullsh*t I had piled upon me for so long. But, you know, I care about people. I care about my life and I love people. I’m not this robot. I feel people think I’m almost like a robot — like an android. And that I’m all about me and my thoughts are all about me. That I want to be famous. I know one thing I’ve heard a lot is, “Does she say the things that she says because she wants attention? It’s attention-seeking.” But I always felt like, if that were the case, wouldn’t I display some sort of attention-seeking behavior, which I’ve never done. I’ve always tried to live a really normal, private, quiet life. So I just think I’ve always really allowed room for the media to sort of chop my words and put their own narrative on it and create this salacious sound bite that goes everywhere. And because of that I feel like people just have no idea what I’m like or who I am. I feel like it’s a mystery. Which is OK. It could be a good thing. But obviously there are times when you struggle with it because being misunderstood 90 percent of the time is difficult because you want to clarify. But you deal with it.

Yes, Megan’s getting some good PR advice right now, and it’s flowing into this interview. She sounds more mature than ever before, and I hope the trend continues. She very nearly almost slipped up while talking about her role in Jennifer’s Body but redeemed herself by praising Diablo Cody’s script. So Megan is steadily learning to play the Hollywood game, which at least gives her some promise towards not messing up any possible goodwill that she might earn in these ensemble comedies that she’s got going on right now. Hopefully, her role in The Dictator with Sacha Baron Cohen will take her a few places as well. Of course, I admit that I’m secretly rooting for Megan Fox not so much for herself but because it would be nice to watch Michael Bay eat his words someday too. After all, something needs to take that douchebag down someday.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the cover boy for the October issue of GQ - emphasis on ?boy?. Did they set the Photoshop tool to ?1999?? Leo?s face is not this thin anymore. I like Leo and everything, but as he?s grown up, weight has gone to his face and it?s never left and he?s no longer this good-looking kid that GQ wants us to see. Anyway, you can see the full slideshow here - lots of nice photos, where Leo looks very young. Leo is promoting his new film, J. Edgar, which was directed by living legend Clint Eastwood. Leo?s big accomplishment as an actor before now was his relationship with Martin Scorsese, who is famously detail-oriented and almost OCD. I would imagine coming off of several Scorsese films, working with laid-back, easy-going Clint Eastwood would be a breath of fresh air. The tabloids tried to make it sound like Clint and Leo weren?t getting along, but Clint is around for part of Leo?s interview, and they sound like two men who respect each other. Here are some interview excerpts:
Leo on learning to care about the financial part of filmmaking: “Throughout my career, I never knew which movies of mine made money and which didn’t. When Titanic came out, people would say, ‘Do you realize what a success this is?’ And I’d say, ‘Yeah, yeah, it’s a hit.’ The [money] stuff never mattered to me until I was into my thirties and got interested in producing, and people would show me charts explaining what finances a movie, what you’ll make from foreign, what you’ll make from domestic, what you need to make an R-rated film that’s a comedy versus a drama. But even now I say that unless you want to prove that you can carry a film with your name, continuously trying to achieve box-office success is a dead end.”
Leo felt overwhelmed: “My introduction to acting in films was with De Niro in This Boy’s Life. When I got the part I was 15, and somebody said, ‘Do you realize who you’re gonna work with?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I guess.’ And they said, ‘No, no, no. Go watch all of his films, and then go see these people’s films.’ So I obsessively watched films on VHS, and I remember feeling so overwhelmed by what had been done in cinema already. Watching a young Brando or James Dean or Montgomery Clift, I was like, Oh, my God, how can anyone ever hope to achieve that type of greatness?”
Leo?s wet dream (as an actor): “For my generation, it’s always the ’70s. That period where you felt like the hands were being dealt back in the director’s favor. The studios realized that letting them tell their stories was something the audience had a hunger for. And of course, it all went awry. [They both laugh.] Taxi Driver to me is the ultimate independent-movie performance. Playing a character like Travis Bickle is every young actor’s wet dream.”
GQ: [To Eastwood] You’ve described yourself as a social libertarian. What does that mean to you?
Clint Eastwood: I was an Eisenhower Republican when I started out at 21, because he promised to get us out of the Korean War. And over the years, I realized there was a Republican philosophy that I liked. And then they lost it. And libertarians had more of it. Because what I really believe is, let’s spend a little more time leaving everybody alone. These people who are making a big deal out of gay marriage? I don’t give a f–k about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We’re making a big deal out of things we shouldn’t be making a deal out of.
Leonardo DiCaprio: That’s the most infuriating thing?watching people focus on these things. Meanwhile, there’s the onset of global warming and?
Clint Eastwood: Exactly!
Leonardo DiCaprio: ?and these incredibly scary and menacing things with the future of our economy. Our relationship to the rest of the world. And here we are focusing on this?
Clint Eastwood: They go on and on with all this bulls–t about “sanctity”?don’t give me that sanctity crap! Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want.
Eastwood on J. Edgar Hoover and the gay issue: “I’d heard all the various controversies and gossip?that he wore dresses at parties. Everybody was saying, maybe he’s gay because he’d never gotten married. But that’s the way they did it back in the ’40s. If a guy didn’t get married, they always thought, Oh, there’s something wrong with him? Well, [Hoover and Clyde Tolson, the associate director of the FBI] were inseparable pals. Now, whether he was gay or not is gonna be for the audience to interpret. It could have been just a great love story between two guys. Or it could have been a great love story that was also a sexual story.”
Leo on the gay thing: “What we’re saying is that [Hoover] definitely had a relationship with Tolson that lasted for nearly fifty years. Neither of them married. They lived close to one another. They worked together every day. They vacationed together. And there was rumored to be more. There are definite insinuations of?well, I’m not going to get into where it goes, but?”
Eastwood: “It’s not a movie about two gay guys. It’s a movie about how this guy manipulated everybody around him and managed to stay on through nine presidents. I mean, I don’t give a crap if he was gay or not.”
Adds Leo: “If I were a betting man, I actually don’t know what I would bet [regarding his sexuality].”

I actually thought that it was part of the historical record that J. Edgar was gay, and a transvestite. Right? Aren?t they teaching that in history books at this point? But if Clint Eastwood says it?s open to debate, so be it. Oh, and Clyde Tolson - Hoover?s rumored lover/life-partner - is being played by Armie Hammer. That big hunk of handsome that our moms love. Maybe I should be grateful that Keira Knightley wasn?t all up on Michael Fassbender?s jock when they filmed their erotic spanking scenes in A Dangerous Method. Obviously, The Fassdong is a powerful thing, but Keira managed to walk away un-Fass?d. I wonder how she does it? Because after I see one of his films, I?m covered in total and utter Fass-lust for DAYS. I can?t even imagine what it would be like to be in the same room with him. Or God forbid, by put in a position where I was tied to a bed and he had to spank me. Oh, there it is. My new happy place.
Keira discussed A Dangerous Method, and her scenes with Fassbender in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. It?s a really in depth piece - you can read the full thing here - so I?ll include some of her comments on her career and some of older films.
On her early years as an actress: ?It was always, sort of, my escape — and, sort of, a secret, because I wasn’t allowed to talk about it at school? 18, 19, 20, 21 is quite a tricky time, I think, in anybody’s life, whether you’re in the public eye or not, so the added thing of being followed around by groups of paparazzi, and being written about, and everything was very strange, particularly when you’re, kind of, going, ‘I don’t know who I am or what I want’.?
The Oscar nominations for Pride & Prejudice and Atonement: “It didn’t make me feel validated at all? I had very low self-confidence… I always believed the negative stuff and I never believed the positive stuff.”
Her next role: It was announced this week that her next project will reunite her with Joe Wright, her director on Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, for another ambitious literary adaptation: Anna Karenina, who has previously been played on the big screen by the likes of Greta Garbo (1935) and Vivien Leigh (1948). Knightley told me, “I mean, it’s a monumental book, and it’s a very hard task. So it’s gonna be great.”
On preparing for A Dangerous Method: “I’d never heard of Sabine before; obviously I’d heard of Freud and Jung, but I didn’t really know anything about them — I vaguely knew it was about sex and that parents get blamed an awful lot, but apart from that I didn’t really know anything. So as soon as I knew that I was gonna do it I phoned Christopher [Hampton, the screenwriter of both Atonement and Method] and said, ‘Just help, please!’”
The scenes in which her character is hysterical: “I sat in my bathroom for a couple of hours and pulled faces at myself… I wanted it to be distorting; I think it’s important that it was shocking… Actually, reading about it, doing research into it, we took it down quite a few notches than what I think it would have been, because a lot of the stuff that you read — you just think, ‘Nobody would believe it!’ It’s really extreme.”
Almost turning down the film because of the spanking scenes: “When I first read the script, I thought, ‘The script was fascinating, and it’s David, and I really want to work with David, but I read those two scenes and just went, ‘I don’t think that I can do that,’ particularly because it’s the age of the Internet; it’s gonna be everywhere; I don’t want that out there’… I phoned him up to really turn it down… I said to him, ‘Look, I love you, I love the script, I love the character, but I really don’t know that I can play those scenes’… He said, ‘Look, if I’m gonna do them, then they’re gonna be clinical; they’re not gonna be sexy, they’re not gonna be voyeuristic in that way.’ And I thought, ‘Okay, well I can understand that. As long as it’s clinical and it’s not some, sort of, weird sexy spanking thing.’”
Executing the spanking scenes: “There was a box which he hit, so he was nowhere near me, thank God! I did actually say to Michael before one of the scenes — I was like, ‘I’ve got a security guard outside. You touch me and he’s gonna break your legs!’ And he was like, ‘Keira, you’re tied to a bed. You’re not really in a position to say that.’ I said, ‘I guess you’re right.’… [I did] a couple of shots of vodka — definitely — beforehand, and then a couple of glasses of champagne as a celebration of never having to do that again!”

Sporting a black track jacket, loose white tank top and calf-length leggings, the "Friends With Benefits" beauty opted for an iced cup of joe after enduring a heart-pumping workout at a nearby gym.
Meanwhile, when she's not working up a sweat or making hit movies, Mila is busy getting young people interested in the politics of today's world.
"Yes (I'm frustrated), because you are given such an amazing opportunity with so much information. Why is no-one taking advantage of it? You don't have to watch Fox News or CNN or MSNBC; you don't have to be part of a political party, you could just read. Why is nobody reading? I feel like, in our generation, people don't read," Miss Kunis told ContactMusic.
She continued, "So obviously you are incredibly ill-informed to the point where they will go do these tests in Middle America... And they'll ask, 'OK, what party are you?' And they'll say, 'Republican'. 'Why?' And they can't even tell you. They have no idea what the Republican Party stands for. It's crazy to me that people don't educate themselves about the world considering so many of them have children who are going to suffer because of it."

"My stepfather was in the Air Force. I was constantly the new girl, which was really hard because people weren't welcoming me. Walking into a cafeteria was literally like going onto a battlefield. On her grandmother being diagnosed with breast cancer:
"I was only 12 years old when my grandmother found out she had breast cancer. I remember thinking it was a death sentence. But she had a mastectomy and survived - and lived many wonderful years longer. She taught me that we fight to live and feel and love, and that you can't let one experience define your existence."
On being female friendly:
"It may surprise you to know that many of my close friends are women. I don't trust a girl who says she has a hard time being friends with other women. She's the person who will steal your boyfriend."

These are new photos of Beyonce at New York Fashion Week today, Tuesday. Bey and her sister Solange were photographed at the Vera Wang show. Okay? shall we talk about her bump? I understand that her bump might be expertly camouflaged by this tiny little babydoll, empire-waist bubble dress, but Beyonce?s bump still looks somehow? different/smaller than it looked at the VMAs, a little more than two weeks ago.
So let?s talk conspiracy theories. Immediately after the VMAs, some Bey-haters were throwing shade on the bump, claiming that it was just an old-fashioned pillow. Many of us noted that just a few weeks before the VMAs, Beyonce had been wearing skin-tight costumes that didn?t reveal any kind of bump. Then, last week Media Takeout reported that a ?top industry insider? said that Beyonce was definitely wearing a prosthetic belly. The insider claims that Bey is definitely pregnant, but that she?s still in her first trimester, about eight or nine weeks along, and that ?She wanted the announcement to be dramatic, so she made sure she had a baby bump.” Then, just over the weekend, paparazzi got shots of Bey and Jay on holiday - Bey was wearing a bikini, and her bump looked different there too. She had some swelling in her abdomen, but it didn?t really look like the prominent ?bump? she had at the VMAs.
And now these photos? maybe I?m just mistaking the actual bump for netting and fabric. Maybe Beyonce just knows how to mask her bump (even when she?s wearing a ?kini?!?). Maybe I should stop the Beyonce hatin?. But I really do wonder what?s up.
Oh, and I hate the bubble dress. Her face looks good (tweaked, but okay), but the dress with the exposed leg? it makes her look tacky.
