| Courteney Cox 'regrets' what she's done to her face: 'Like, you look horrible' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

On Monday night, the new season of Running Wild with Bear Grylls premiered. I?ve only watched a few clips here and there, and now I?m sort of regretting not watching the premiere episode, because it featured Courteney Cox on the cliffs of Ireland. Which sounds fun/terrifying. Courteney is back together with Johnny McDaid (who is Irish), although this time around, their relationship seems to be more on his terms, as in they?re spending more time in London and Ireland, it feels like. Cox talked about McDaid a bit with Bear, but the most interesting part (to me) was when Cox talked about the cosmetic work she?s gotten over the years and how she?s afraid of ageing. Some highlights:
How she feels about her fame: “I feel lucky. I don’t feel burdened by it. I mean, people can be pretty mean, though, now that there’s all this social media. The comments…if I ever want to feel really bad about myself, I just click on one of those Daily Mail comment sections.”
Ageing in the spotlight: “I think there’s a pressure to maintain [your looks], not just because of fame, but just, you know, being a woman in this business. Getting older has not been…I don’t think it’s the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. You know, I think I was trying to keep up with getting older, trying to chase that…you know, it’s something you can’t keep up with. So, the more you relax into it and the less I try…’cause sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and go, ‘Oh, God.’ Like, you look horrible. I have done things that I regret, and luckily they’re things that dissolve and go away. So, um, that’s good, because it’s not always been my best look. So, now I just have a new motto: ‘Just let it be.’”
Why she split with David Arquette: “I think that we were such good friends. We found ourselves leading separate lives and just coexisting and being great friends, but not having the intimacy that…is so important in a relationship. I think you really need to work in a relationship, and I think that we tried. We’re just really different, too. I’m the polar opposite of him. That can be great for a lot of things, but I need this kind of real, one-on-one connection. And I don’t know. I don’t know. It wasn’t a dramatic ending. It was more of a…just, I don’t know. I’ve really been…No one’s ever asked me in this way, so I haven’t really thought about it like this. I mean, as divorces go, I would say it’s one of the better ones. For sure. We’re good co-parents together.”
Her relationship with Johnny McDaid: “We were engaged for over a year and then we broke up. There’s something about…you know, he’s from Ireland. And the way he regards love is precious. We have to treat it in a different way. It’s more special. You coddle it. So, I didn’t know how to regard love the way he does. And it definitely made a lot of mistakes that I see, whether it’s co-dependency or people-pleasing. I didn’t know how to bring it in. It was always external. I definitely have learned a lot, and no matter what, I will be a better person from that breakup, even though it was so brutal.”
[From E! News]
I genuinely appreciate how honest Courteney is about ageing and regretting some of the sh-t she?s done to her face. While the work seems to be non-surgical ? as in, she was doing a ton of Botox and fillers ? I think she?s sort of kidding herself if she thinks that all of that stuff just ?dissolves away? when you?re done with it. While she looks less frozen (and ?surprised?) these days, you can tell that she?s still doing that sh-t. And it?s because she?s scared of ageing naturally, which she basically admits. As for what she says about McDaid? Irish people are more precious about love? What?

| Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in hot-pink Balmain: underwhelming or cute? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s premiere of Mechanic: Resurrection, a sequel to Jason Statham?s 2011 film, The Mechanic. Statham?s career is pretty interesting, in that he just keeps churning out these (interchangeable?) stunt-heavy action films and apparently there?s enough of a market for them. I guess. This film also costars Jessica Alba, who wore a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress. I liked her dress a lot more than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley?s look, which was a hot-pink Balmain two-piece thing. Usually I love Rosie?s style and she can do no wrong, but that Balmain is definitely a ?miss.?
Jason was asked by E! News about the seeming boy-beef between Vin Diesel and The Rock. Statham worked on Fast & Furious 8 with both men, and as far as he knows, he doesn?t have a beef with either of them. That?s as far as Jason will go, saying: “I’m good with them. We’re good pals, and if [Johnson's] got any problem with me then he’d probably tell me to my face. So I’m good with them.” ?Tell me to my face? is such a dude thing. It?s also pretty childish. It goes along with ?NUN-UH? and ?YO MAMA.?
Also, did you know that Statham was once an Olympic hopeful in diving? He competed in diving for years but never made it to the Olympics. He says now: “It’s a bit of a sore point I never got to the Olympics. I just heard they got seven million or something for the diving per year. They deserve it. The divers we’ve got now are just terrific. I started too late. It probably wasn’t my thing. I should have done a different sport.” Yeah, it is weird to me that when he was younger, he went to? diving. Not boxing. Not wrestling. Not even gymnastics. Diving??

| Ben Affleck celebrated his 44th birthday in Montana on a family vacation | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In our post yesterday about Mayim Bialik’s preachy video on co-parenting with her ex, several of you mentioned that this was Jennifer Garner’s playbook as well: spending vacations and holidays together, making sure that everything seems “normal” for the kids, and also getting along for the sake of the kids. Only in Garner and Affleck’s case, it’s not entirely clear to either the public or probably their kids that they’re actually separated. “Sources” may insist that they’re not together one week and then claim the next that Affleck is trying to win Garner back and that she might be open to it. So it’s hard to tell what’s going on, particularly when the celebrity-friendly outlets run stories like this:
[Affleck] celebrated his Aug. 15 birthday with ex Jennifer Garner and their three children while on a family trip to a Montana resort where they own a condo.
“The family spent the week together and enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking, biking and swimming,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE.
Despite separating after 10 years of marriage in June 2015, the actors have maintained an amicable relationship, the focal point of which is their three children ? Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and 4-year-old Samuel.
The family has spent a large amount of time together, including a month-long trip to Europe during the summer while Affleck was filming Justice League in London.
“Ben is happiest when he’s spending time with his family,” adds the source. “It was a great birthday.”
[From People]
Good for them, but here’s the thing – I doubt we would have heard anything about this if they didn’t tell People Magazine. There aren’t any paparazzi in Montana (although I wouldn’t be surprised if some “found” them, Garner said they would get papped in Timbuktu) so we wouldn’t have seen pictures and it’s not like everyone is wondering where they are. Instead of recording confessional videos describing the play-by-play of her coparenting and maybe-reconciliation with Affleck, Garner (or maybe Affleck, I have no idea) tells the press what they’re doing. I wonder if any other of Affleck’s exes would have stuck around so long. We’ve seen how both Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow have handled their respective divorces with kids. Both of them have been civil to friendly to their exes, with Paltrow striving to perfect divorce and tell us about it, but they’ve each moved on to other partners. Garner isn’t doing that for whatever reason, and neither is Affleck. It just occurred to me that last year we heard what Affleck did for his birthday too – he went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with Garner and their kids.

| Natalie Portman: French are 'judgmental about how you are & how you look' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Natalie Portman has been shilling for her feature-length directorial debut, A Tale of Love and Darkness, for months really. But she?s definitely stepped it up in the past few weeks, doing a full promotional tour in New York and giving interviews to anyone who wants to speak to her. The film is pretty small and it?s not going to make much money, but the reviews are okay/mediocre and most people think that Portman should try her hand at directing again. Anyway, Portman chatted with the Guardian last week about how she?s moved back to America after living in Paris, how she?s still a vegan and more. Some highlights:
Moving back to LA after living in Paris: ?People in LA are just wild. French people are very judgmental, or in Paris at least, about how you are and how you look. You would never wear workout clothes on the street or sandals or shorts or wild colours. It was fun to get back to where everyone?s just being free.?
Vegan food in Paris: ?Actually, Paris has improved a lot for vegans in the past few years. It was a lucky moment to be there as a vegan.?
Whether she reads the reviews: ?No. I avoid it. It?s inhibiting to hear bad things about yourself. It makes you afraid, and you can?t be afraid when you work.
Watching herself onscreen: ?I usually see a movie once when it comes out at the premiere and then never see it again. Usually I cringe through the premiere and hate everything I do. The less I?m in a movie, the more I like it.?
She enjoyed her sober Oscar campaign for ?Black Swan?: ?Being sober the whole time is a trip! I?ll tell you that. I felt unusual being that way relative to the room.?
[From The Guardian]
?You would never wear workout clothes on the street or sandals or shorts or wild colours.? Isn?t it that way in most major European cities? That they look down on you if you wear flip-flops and jeans or sweatpants? I imagine it?s magnified in Paris, a city known for being stylish and chic. Your yoga pants are gauche! Take your flip-flops back to America, you peasant! Considering I live in sweatpants and flip-flops pretty much year-round, I guess Paris would HATE me.

| Heidi Klum posts intimate tropical getaway snaps with boyfriend: cute or TMI? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Model and reality competition show mainstay Heidi Klum shared some sexy snaps with her handsome boyfriend, art curator Vito Schnabel, from their Caribbean vacation this past week. Let?s just say I?ve got new #vacationgoals.
Heidi is sure to look well-rested after her vacay, if her photos are any indication. On Sunday, she posted a picture snuggled against 30 year-old Vito?s back with the caption ?….dreaming ….??? How does she get a candid picture to look like something out of a Vogue photo shoot? All of my vacation snaps feature sunburned raccoon eyes and ocean-matted hair. The hairstyle phenomenon known as ?beachy waves? is a lie. Trust me. I’ve spent a fortune on products to make my hair look as perfectly beach-tousled as Heidi’s and it always ends up just looking greasy.
…..dreaming ….??

| Bryce Dallas Howard's parents taught her to 'control your kids' friends' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Bryce Dallas Howard, 35, is still promoting Pete’s Dragon, a fantasy kids’ film in which a feral child has a dragon as a protector. She plays a park ranger who finds the child. It’s been out about a week and a half and is just doing ok at the box office (for a Disney movie) and is currently at number five after opening at number three. I like seeing Howard’s interviews because she comes across as grounded and not full of herself, which is not what you would expect from the daughter of a Hollywood director. Last week, we covered an interview she did with People where she claimed that her mother wanted to make sure that she and her three siblings did not grow up entitled. In a new video interview with People, which you can see here, Bryce was asked for the most important thing that her parents taught her. Her answer was surprising.
When you see a pregnant woman, what is one thing you wish you could tell her?
Whenever I see a pregnant woman, the one thing that I wish that I could tell her is that it doesn?t end when the baby comes out. I thought after I had my first child, that I was like ?I?ll just have the baby and jump out and everything is going to be great.? While it was great because he was healthy, it took a long time to heal after that.
What is your secret to losing baby weight?
My secret to losing baby weight was to not be obsessed with losing baby weight. To focus on what was important which was my child?s health, my health, my mental health. To understand that it takes a year to create a baby and sometimes it takes years to return to that pre-baby state or whatever state you?re in. My body changed a lot after having children. It was really healthy for me to not put focus on it needing to be a certain way and embracing what it is.
What?s the most important thing your parents taught you?
The most important thing my parents taught me about raising kids was to control your kids’ friends. What they said is at a certain point your child?s friends have more influence over them than you have as parents.
What do you miss most about your life before motherhood?
Freedom. Just the ability to be whimsical and say ?oh I?d like to do this today.? Definitely having kids has brought a lot of structure and routine into my life? [but I miss being] spontaneous.
[From Video on People.com]
These questions sound kind of asinine, but I think they’re standard for People videos as I’ve heard other celebrity moms being asked the same things. I really like what she said about how she focused on her health and her children’s health instead of on getting bikini-ready after she had a baby baby. Howard has been open about the fact that she had postpartum depression after her son was born and said she felt disconnected from him as a baby. I think that’s what she’s talking about when she says it took her a long time to heal and that she focuses on being healthy and not perfect.
Also, in terms of controlling your kids’ friends, I never really thought of it that way. I do notice that my son tends to hang out with the other kids with the moms I like the most, but that’s also because they’re the most reliable and easiest to make plans with. So maybe I do control his friends without admitting that’s what I do.
