Nicolas Cage is 57 years old. He has an Oscar and a home in Las Vegas. He owns a menagerie of birds, cats and lizards. He believes/knows that his cats are his best friends. He is on his fifth wife: a 27-year-old Japanese woman named Riko Shibata. They met in Japan, while Nic was there working. Riko is an actress too. They got married last year, during the pandemic, and he?s been bringing her out to some of his events. They even did a magazine cover together last year. I have no idea how their marriage works, but it?s not even about the age difference. I just don?t really know how any woman could live with him for any length of time. Maybe his cats are really cool! I hope so. In any case, the Crow Coppola is going to have some company: Nic and Riko are expecting.
Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata are adding a little one to their family. The couple is expecting their first baby together, a rep for the couple confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. This is Cages third child as he is already dad to sons Kal-El, 16, and Weston, 31, from previous relationships.
The parents-to-be are elated! adds the rep. Cage, 57, tied the knot with his wife during a very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on Feb. 16 of last year, honoring his late fathers birthday.
Its true, and we are very happy, he told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. The couple met in Shiga, Japan, through mutual friends while Cage was filming Prisoners of the Ghostland.
Cage and Shibata, 27, who is also an actress, made their red carpet debut last July at the premiere of Cages film Pig.

Good for them, I suppose. I don?t think I realized/remembered that Weston is actually older than Nic?s current wife. Weston has had some problems in his life, but he and Nic have always been pretty tight. I don?t know if Nic has much of a relationship with Kal-El, and I think Kal-El and his mom might live in LA? Again, I don?t know. Wishing everyone a lot of luck! Also: Nic is truly part of the awards season. He?s gotten such good reviews for Pig.

In 2019-20, we heard from Nicolas Cage a few times and honestly, he didn?t sound all that terrible. He?s self-aware enough to understand that outsiders think he?s bonkers, but really he?s just a weird guy who likes to spend his money on cobras, cats, crows, quests for the Holy Grail and dinosaur bones. That flurry of interviews happened after he drunkenly and mistakenly married Erika Koike in March 2019. The marriage lasted all of four days and apparently, Cage was pretty embarrassed about it. It was kind of messy for a few months as he tried to get an annulment and was eventually successful in getting a divorce. So, that four-day marriage ?counts? as his fourth marriage. And now he?s gotten married for a fifth time.
Nicolas Cage is in newlywed bliss! The actor, 57, wed Riko Shibata last month in a very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
Its true, and we are very happy, Cage says in a statement to PEOPLE. While news of the wedding broke on Friday, they tied the knot on Feb. 16 ? a date that is very special to Cage.
The date was chosen to honor the birthday of the grooms late father, Cages rep tells PEOPLE. The bride wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto that required three layers.
Cage wore a Tom Ford Tuxedo for their special day. The bride walked down the aisle to her favorite song, Winter Song by Kiroro. The couple ? who met in Shiga, Japan, more than a year ago ? exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in. In photos of the ceremony obtained by PEOPLE, Cage gives his bride a passionate kiss as they are declared husband and wife with a backdrop of lush greenery and fairy lights. The couple walked out of the ceremony hand in hand before heading to a small celebration.
After the wedding, the happy couple was joined for a small celebration attended by Nicolas ex-wife, Alice (who he remains very good friends with) and their son Kal, his rep says. This is Cages fifth marriage following his public split from Erika Kookie after a four-day marriage in March 2019, which also took place in Las Vegas. He was granted a divorce two months later. The Face/Off star was previously married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, to Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004 and to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016. In addition to Kal-El, Cage has a son, Weston, 30, from his relationship to actress Christina Fulton.

I?m including photos of Nic with Riko Shibata about one year ago in New York. She?s very pretty! And very young-looking and trendy/fashionable. She?s apparently 26 to his 57. So? just over 30 years younger than Nicolas. Whew. I mean, it?s a good thing that this one didn?t end after four days and a Las Vegas annulment. It sounds like they?ve actually spent some time together and have been serious about each other for much of the past year. I would guess that they quarantined with each other. And his cats too, one would hope. Congrats to them.

| Nicolas Cage thinks everyone should watch 'Marriage Story' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Academy award winning actor Nicolas Cage has a new movie coming out, Color Out of Space. It?s a modern adaptation of the H. P. Lovecraft short story and even though it has Tommy Chong in the Ammi Pierce role, the trailer isn?t doing it for me. However, Nicolas is doing press for it, so he went to Extra to promote Marriage Story. Uhm, Nic? I think you?ve forgotten how this works. Nicolas brought up the nominated film because he thinks anyone who is divorcing should see it to get a better understanding of how family law works against you in the process.
Nicolas Cage is a fan of the Oscar-nominated movies this year, but he?s got his eye on a particular film.
The actor, 56, spoke to Extra while at the Wednesday night premiere of his new film Color Out of Space and showed his support for Noah Baumbach?s divorce drama Marriage Story.
?I think that?s a very important movie,? Cage said. ?I think anyone who?s even considering divorce ? and the families ? it should be required viewing.?
The star, who has been divorced four times, added, ?Having been through it, family law is absolutely the worst.?
[From People]
I?m not considering divorce, but I did watch Marriage Story. It?s a good film and the acting is as good as everyone says (with apologies to Kaiser, Laura Dern was fantastic. So was Merritt Weaver). I watched the movie, in part, because of how much press it got, but mainly because I am an Alan Alda stan (probably not the reason you were expecting). I did not care for it. But I didn?t care for it because it was fairly realistic, which made it so depressing. I kept emailing CB telling her how much the film was bringing me down and then ignored her repeated suggestions to maybe not watch something that was bumming me out so much.
However, to Nicolas?s point, it is a good example of the divorce process from a legal perspective. As you know, I come from a family of lawyers, three of whom were divorce or family law so although I am far from an expert, I?m familiar with the legal tactics involved. Nicolas is practically an expert as he has had four marriages, ranging from 12 years to four days. Three of his marriages ended in divorce and one was annulled. He also has two children, one born out of wedlock and one born in wedlock (I only mention the wedlock part because it has different legal ramifications under family law). Two of his wives, Patricia Arquette and Lisa Marie Presley, came into the marriage with their own wealth/assets that needed protection. My point is, Nicolas has seen Marriage Story played out from every angle, so perhaps we should heed his advice, although my hope is that no one here needs it.

Nicolas Cage is okay. I wouldn?t say he?s doing ?well? but he?s not off-the-rails completely. He probably is still on a quest for the Holy Grail, but hey, who isn?t. He still works, mostly on completely random movies which get shuffled off to direct-to-cable or hidden at some streaming service. He?s currently promoting Primal, which was out (somewhere) on November 8th. Vanity Fair spoke to him around just before Halloween, which he says is his favorite holiday, and the ?holiday for actors.? He also talks about his love of cats, which is the reason why I?m writing about this. I love men who love cats. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
On Halloween: ?I?m going full blast. I love Halloween?always have?. It?s really the actors holiday?the holiday that encourages transformation. It?s the only holiday where you can safely, hopefully, meet people who are total strangers and have [an authentic] exchange. That gives a sense of community. I?m going to take my ex-wife and my son out to dinner and we?ll celebrate. My son?s getting a little old for trick-or-treating,? Cage said of 14-year-old Kal-El, ?but I encourage him to still embrace the holiday and find something cool to wear. I?m going to be Kid Flash?one of the lesser-known DC characters?but with a full beard, which is kind of ironic. But it will work for the holiday.?
About his weird movie, Primal, which he hasn?t seen: ?So I?m a bit at a loss with how it went, but I?m told it went well, and that it?s exactly what it [was] meant to be?a fun, wild adventure involving animals that get loose on a ship with a dangerous man. I was trying to channel my inner BogartI always go back to the well when I?m looking for inspiration. Not that I could ever be Bogart?he?s the greatest?but it?s always good to borrow from the best.?
He?s a Cat Man: ?I?ve always responded to cats. As a child they were my best friends. I had a little one named Razzmatazz that I saved. He was my best friend.? These days, Cage has two cats?a Maine Coon, Merlin, ?who looks like a forest cat,? and Tigra, a Toyger who ?has stripes? and ?looks like a jungle cat. I?m closest to Tigra. She?s such a sweetheart. So is Merlin, the Maine Coon. He?s very affectionate. One day I would like to have a Savannah or something a little bigger, but I am not there yet. I do love all animalsThey inspire me. I have always had a fondness for cats in particular, which is another reason I was so excited about this script. The idea of this white jaguar is such a beautiful-sounding animal. I like the idea of being in a movie with something that majestic.?
[From Vanity Fair]
My mom had two Maine Coons two sisters and they were such big, fluffy divas with big personalities. One was the biggest bitch you have ever met, and she only really liked my mom. The other liked to snuggle. They were like walking fur-blankets with crossed-eyes. I had never heard of Toyger cats but apparently they?re basically just full-in tiger kitties? Of course Nicolas Cage has what amounts to a miniature tiger. Anyway, I love men who love cats. I wish Cage had an Instagram so we could see his kitties and his dinosaur bone collection. He could even give us updates on his Grail Quest.

Before I saw the photo ID, I saw the photos and I was like ?that guy looks vaguely familiar, sort of like a weird funhouse-mirror version of Nicolas Cage.? Yeah. It?s Nicolas Cage. Nick attended the LA premiere of Running With the Devil, which Cage stars in. I just watched the trailer for it and? it actually doesn?t seem like a completely terrible movie? What gives?? It?s about drug running, from the fields to the streets, and Cage plays a middleman. It looks like a straight-up ensemble, sort of like Traffic.
Anyway, this is how Nick Cage looks now. It?s fine. I?m actually sort of happy for him that he?s at this stage of his life and his career where he?s like ?fk it, I?m just growing out my greying beard and I don?t give a sh-t anymore.? It feels like a healthy choice for him. He was also at the premiere with his son Weston Coppola Cage. Weston really takes after Nick, right?
Cage was also recently in Toronto for the TIFF premiere of Color Out of Space, his latest sci-fi/horror/something. It actually got great reviews? As the NY Post notes, Cage seems to be having a moment this year. It was just last month that Cage gave that absolutely bonkers interview to the NY Times too. Who knew that 2019 would be The Year of Cage??

Nicolas Cage is, I suspect, NOT insane. I believe there?s a difference between people who are legitimately dealing with profound mental health issues versus people who are just willfully bonkers. Nick Cage is willfully bonkers. I?m not saying that?s a good or bad thing, but it is? entertaining. Like watching a car crash, if the car crash had a bad toupee and owned a bunch of dinosaur bones. Behold, the greatest hits from Nick Cage?s NYT interview, where he covered such subjects as those screamy karaoke videos, his search for the Holy Grail, and why he?s not in therapy anymore.
About the videos of him screaming ?Purple Rain? at a karaoke bar: ?You go to a karaoke bar with a male friend in the neighborhood, the bar says ?no videotaping? and suddenly, there?s two different videos of you doing karaok. Who did that? Who exposed the videotape? Who sold it?[It was]more like a primal-scream therapy? session that he didn?t want to become a viral moment, since it was right around the anniversary of Prince?s death. ?It was a holiday weekend, and I didn?t want to go anywhere, but my friend who was with me said: ?You can?t sit here in your apartment. You?ve got to go out.? So I went to the one place in my neighborhood that I knew had no video recording, just to have some fun, and that became everybody?s business.?
He doesn?t want to go out any

| Nicolas Cage & Erika Koike were drunk as skunks when they eloped in Vegas | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

As we discussed last week, bizarrely, Nicolas Cage got married and then within days, he filed for an annulment. His new bride is Erika Koike, a makeup artist he was apparently dating for about a year. They apparently got drunk in Las Vegas and while sh-tfaced, they decided to get hitched. Now that they?ve sobered up, they realize it was a huge mistake:
Nicolas Cage claims, in a request for annulment, he was too drunk to make a responsible decision when his new wife suggested they get married. According to Cage?s annulment documents, obtained by The Blast, the ?Leaving Las Vegas? star admits he and Erika Koike were ?both drinking to the point of intoxication? before participating in a wedding ceremony.
He says he ?lacked understanding? of his actions and was therefore incapable of agreeing to a marriage with the makeup artist. Cage now understands he ?reacted on impulse without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions.?
In his request to get the marriage wiped from the record books, Cage also reveals that his wife did not tell him about ?the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person,? and believes fraud was committed. Further, he says Koike has an active criminal history that he didn?t know about. We did some digging, and Koike was actually busted for DUI last year in Las Vegas. She pled not guilty to the charge last week, and is due back in court in June.
Since learning about the alleged fraud, Cage says he kicked Koike out of his house, and ?made arrangements? for her to stay somewhere else.
[From The Blast]
Just to get this straight, Erika was living with him AND she was seeing someone else AND she had a DUI last year AND they were both drunk as skunks when they got married. I agree, an annulment is in order. They?ll probably get one too, because according to the Blast, Erika isn?t going to fight him on the annulment filing she apparently believes the whole thing was some big Friends-esque-plotline mistake. From what I understand, an annulment would completely wipe out the wedding/marriage from the books, so we can?t even call Erika his ?fourth wife? now or his estranged wife. Also: while I?m glad that they seem to be in agreement on the annulment, I also think it?s a huge red flag that a 55-year-old man got drunk and eloped with his girlfriend and then asked for an annulment. Granted, almost everything about Nick Cage is a red flag at this point.

| Nicolas Cage will likely marry his young girlfriend of one year, Erika Koike | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These photos of Nicolas Cage made the rounds earlier this month. Cage was in Austria for the Vienna Hofburg, and he posed for photos with an assortment of businessmen and their wives. He also seemed to pose a lot with this young woman in the purple dress. Is this his girlfriend? I ask because there are not that many photos of Cage?s latest girlfriend, Erika Koike, and I think she might just be a shapeshifter who looks radically different with different hair. If this is Erika, here you go Cage has been dating her for about a year. No one knows much about her other than A) she?s much younger than Cage, who is 55 years old, and B) she?s a makeup artist. And now she might be Nicolas Cage?s fourth wife.
Nicolas Cage is ready for wife #4 hes asking the state of Nevada to greenlight a marriage to his GF in Las Vegas, no less. According to court record, Nic applied Saturday for a marriage license in Clark County, and he listed his new-ish girlfriend, Erika Koike, as the second party. Nic lives in Sin City, BTW and his marriage license is valid for one year from the time its approved.
Nick and Erika have been together since April 2018. They were seen hanging out in Puerto Rico at the time while Nic filmed a new movie although, not much more is known about his potential bride-to-be. She appears to be a makeup artist with at least one credit on IMDb.
[From TMZ]
I actually had to backtrack and search my memory for all of Cage?s prior relationships and marriages. Alice Kim was his third wife, and that arguably seemed like the most stable marriage and relationship in his history. They were together for more than a decade, and they have a 14-year-old son together. Cage was also briefly married to Lisa Marie Presley, and he was married to Patricia Arquette (something I forgot about completely).
So, do we find this shady? Or no? I think Cage is probably a giant mess in his personal life and this young woman looks like she?ll take him to the cleaners, but joke?s on her, I don?t think he has much money anymore. So maybe it?s true love!!

There should be an expiration date on being allowed to use the phrase “Academy Award Winner” to sell a movie.

| Nicolas Cage 'takes great umbrage' with Hollywood's lack of roles for Asian actors | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
I always forget two things about Nicolas Cage: one, he?s still with his wife Alice Kim (even though they had some marriage problems in the past) and two, they have a son together, Kal-El Coppola Cage. For real. Nic Cage named his son Kal-El. Because of course. Anyway, what?s important to remember is that Nic is married to a Korean-American lady and their son Kal-El is mixed race. Which means that when Nic was recently in Beijing to do some press for his new film, he answered questions about diversity in Hollywood with a surprising amount of depth and racial transcendence. OMG, I kind of love Nic Cage now. WTF?
Nicolas Cage just wrapped up shooting on location in China for British director Nick Powell?s upcoming period drama Outcast, co-starring Hayden Christensen. But before Cage left the country, he gave an interview to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, in which he reveals a few things about his role in the film, discusses his acting methods and speaks out against the dearth of lead roles offered to male Asian actors in Hollywood.
Answering a question about his experience working with the Chinese crew on Outcast, Cage took the opportunity to briefly turn the interview in a more serious direction.
After praising his female co-star Liu Yifei’s performance and saying how much he enjoyed working with the Chinese industry, Cage added: ?I hope that we will see more Chinese actors in American cinema too. We do see Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi and Chow Yun Fat, but it?s very rare to see the Chinese male actor in Hollywood movies, which is something I take great umbrage with. You know, my son is Asian. He may want to direct one day; he may want to be an actor like his father — and I want that to be open to him. So I want to make some kind of effort to see more of that happen in Hollywood.?
Cage?s wife Alice Kim is Korean-American. He said their 8-year-old son, Kal-El (named after Superman’s birth name on planet Krypton), came along with him to China.
?He was here with me for the first few weeks, but he had to go back to the States to go back to school,” he said. “Selfishly, I wanted him to stay with me the whole time, but the teachers said he had to go back to school, so he went home.”
Outcast is the first film Cage ? whose filmography spans some 75 films ? has shot in China. He described the experience as positive and noted that he has “no doubt” China will soon surpass North America to become the world’s largest film market, as many analysts have forecasted.
The film is a co-production between China’s Yunnan Film Group and U.S.-Australian outfit Arclight Films.
?I do want to come back, and I want to work with a Chinese director and Chinese actors,? Cage said. ?If there?s something that makes sense for a white guy like me, I?d like to do that here in China.?
He said he views Tony Leung (In the Mood for Love, Lust, Caution) as one of the world?s great actors.
?I would like to make a movie with Tony, but I don?t know how to do it,? he said. ?I want to do it.?
Last month Cage attended China?s Huading Awards, an awards show that honors talent across all categories of the arts. At the time he told The Hollywood Reporter that he hopes to soon move to Hong Kong.
He reiterated that desire in the CCTV interview, saying, ?One of my goals is to have a base near mainland China. I think Hong Kong would be a good match for me. I like being in Hong Kong.?
Near the end of the segment, CCTV?s anchor gently challenged Cage on his recent filmography, noting that some critics have questioned his choice of projects.
?You can?t make your choices based on what critics think. You have to make your choices based on what?s honest for you,? Cage replied.
He added: “I can?t let it bother me. I?m happy. I?m making movies I want to make. Something is working.”
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
Right? Nic comes across as a nice, decent guy here. I do wonder about his insistence on moving to Hong Kong though? it feels sort of like a complicated tax dodge? The IRS knows where Nicolas Cage lives, so maybe he is thinking of setting up a homebase outside of the US. I hear Ireland is the newest corporate tax dodger haven, but I?m not sure if it?s the same deal for individuals. As for Nic?s love of Tony Leung? well, I mean, who doesn?t love Tony Leung? And of course it goes without saying that Nic is dead-right about the lack of substantive parts for Asian and Asian-American actors in Hollywood.
