It doesn?t sound like the fourth installment of The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is off to such a hot start. The producers got Johnny Depp to sign on, which is good. But, as we reported yesterday, they were going to try to cast British comedian Russell Brand as Captain Jack Sparrow?s long-lost brother. However Brand might be too busy to pick up what would most likely be a hefty paycheck to hang out on a tropical island and act weird (which he already does all the time anyway).
Now the latest news: Keira Knightley has no interest in reprising her role of Elizabeth Swann. Keira says, ?I think it?s done.? Silly girl. Doesn?t she know that a franchise isn?t dead until the producers have squeezed every last single drop of joy and pleasure out of something? OK! has more:
The good news for fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean films is that Johnny Depp has already signed on for the fourth installment, but the bad news is that Keira Knightley will most likely not be making another appearance as Elizabeth Swann.
“It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don’t think I need to go there again,” she tells Moviephone?s Inside/Movies, “I think that it’s done.”
However she has no bad feelings about her former castmates or towards the Pirates movies at all ? in fact, she’ll be first in line for tickets!
“I’m very excited to see the next one,” she reveals. “And [Johnny] is so wonderful in that character. I think it’ll be wonderful.”

That?s a classy way of handling it. If it was any other actress, I might make a remark about how she thinks she?s too good to return to the role that made her a star, but I don?t think that?s the case with Keira. She?s actually a really talented actress, and her role in the Pirates franchise is pretty boring for an actress. Perhaps she just didn?t want to make out with Orlando Bloom again. Who could blame her? I bet that dirt-lip itches.

Let’s see, can we do a quick tally on this week’s Brangelina tabloid rumors? The big one is the claim that Brad’s pulling a David Beckham and cheating with the nanny. Of course there are the required “Angelina’s pregnant again!” rumors that come out each week. And in National Enquirer territory, they say they’ve got the inside scoop on a feud brewing over the couple’s child care arrangements. According to their “sources” the couple has a deal, and Angelina is pissed because Brad broke the terms of this arrangement by recruiting his mom, Jane to help out with the kids while she’s working on a new movie.
Angelina Jolie has nixed Brad Pitt’s plan to move his mother into the $60 million estate they’ve rented on Long Island!
The Changeling star put the kibosh on Jane Pitt moving in to help with their kids because she felt it was too close for comfort, an insider told The ENQUIRER.
The A-list couple have an agreement that while one of them works, the other looks after their six children, and Angelina - who’s filming the spy thriller Salt - was incensed when Brad turned to his mom for help, said the source.
“Angelina feels Brad should be able to handle the kids on his own, and she saw his request for help as a cop-out,” said the insider.
“She cared for the kids while Brad made his last film in Germany, so she feels it’s his turn, and she told him to tell his mother they didn’t need her help.”
Jane and her husband live in Missouri, but she relocated to the south of France soon after Brad and Angie’s twins, Vivienne and Knox, were born on July 12.
“What Angie says goes,” the source divulged.

Okay, that last sentence I do believe. She calls the shots in this relationship. But telling Brad’s mom that she is “not needed?” That seems a bit harsh. Besides, we all know that the couple has help with all those kids. What difference does it make if it’s Brad or grandma doing the diaper changing, as long as it’s getting done? Would it be so bad if Brad admitted that he can’t keep track of six little kids by himself?

Matt Damon is still pissed that it took so many decades for the Academy to recognize Martin Scorsese. The two worked together for the first time in 2006?s The Departed, and the famous director had a big impact on the Bourne Supremacy actor in many ways. The biggest way? Matt thinks that the Academy should be on a ten-year delay. For example, the Oscars just held last month should have been recognizing films that were made in 1998. And last year?s films shouldn?t be recognized until the 2019 ceremony. Good luck with that, Matt. Contact Music has more:
Matt Damon insists the Oscars are no indication of whether films are good or not - even though he’s a past winner. The Bourne Supremacy star picked up a Best Screenplay Oscar in 1998 for Good Will Hunting, a film which also earned him a Best Actor nomination - but he’s skeptical about the way the Academy picks its winners.
He tells Parade.com, “I think that the best way to judge movies is, like, 10 years after they’re released. I think they should actually do the awards that way. I think they should have done the Academy Awards this year for movies from 1998. I think it’s better to look at a movie and then step back and look at it again. I don’t think that the awards necessarily get it right. I think they get it wrong more often than they get it right.”
It’s not the first time the actor has questioned the validity of the Oscars - he campaigned for director Martin Scorsese to win his first Academy Award three years ago (06), insisting the prizegiving would be a “farce” if the moviemaker was overlooked for The Departed.
He said, “Marty’s such a great, great director. He really wants it (Oscar) and he hasn’t made that a secret. He’s been upfront about saying it would really mean a lot to him.?
“He never felt that Hollywood had validated his work because his work is centered around the east coast and New York and that somehow threatened the establishment or something. But it demeans the Oscars more than it demeans Marty that he doesn’t have one, to be honest with you. Once he receives his (Oscar), then everyone who has one, their award is validated.”
Scorsese won his first Best Director Oscar for The Departed. It was the sixth time he had been nominated for the award.

I totally understand the sentiments behind what Matt is saying. The Academy has made so many bone-headed decisions, especially in the past ten years. It used to be an actor would usually win an Oscar for the performance that, as it turns out, is their most famous. Like Gregory Peck winning for To Kill A Mockingbird. Or Audrey Hepburn winning for Roman Holiday. But Nicole Kidman winning for The Hours? Don?t get me wrong, it was a fine performance. But ten years from now, people will remember Nicole Kidman for Moulin Rouge.
There would also be the unintentional side-effect of the ten-year Oscar campaign, which Harvey Weinstein would probably still dominate. How many interviews could an actor or director give about a film they did ten years ago? How would the publicity even ramp up? But, as I said, I understand Matt?s sentiments. I wonder if he thinks his Oscar-winning screenplay for Good Will Hunting stands the test of time?

Earlier today Celebitchy reported that rumors were floating around saying that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer had broken up again. Now People has confirmed that the relationship is indeed over, and John apparently broke up with Jen right after she got back from her European promo duties for ?Marley & Me.?
They wowed Hollywood with a high-profile Oscar date, posing arm-in-arm for photographs in what was largely seen as their official coming out as a couple after a year of off-and-on dating. Then Jennifer Aniston headed to Europe to promote Marley & Me and John Mayer stayed in L.A. to work on his music.
And just days after Aniston returned, they were a couple no more, sources confirm to PEOPLE.
“They had some disagreements and decided to not continue to see each other,” says one source. “Jen is moving on with her life like she always does. She seems happy.”
A second source says Mayer broke up with Aniston after she returned from Europe.
In the last few weeks, the former Friends star has been spending time with her close pal Courteney Cox Arquette and her yoga instructor-friend Mandy Ingber, while Mayer has been busy getting his new house ready and working in the studio. Then E!’s Marc Malkin reported rumors of a possible split.
Reps for Aniston and Mayer had no comment.

John?s the kind of guy most people could date for a few weeks before they tired of him. According to E! News, Britney Spears is dating her longtime agent, Jason Trawick. The two were first quietly rumored to be together way back in November of 2006, and again last May when Trawick joined her at Mel Gibson?s Costa Rica estate. E! says they?re definitely together, and it sounds like it might actually be a good relationship. Trawick?s had a positive influence on Britney and was instrumental in helping her reconnect with her parents. In fact her dad even approves of the relationship.
Britney Spears isn’t confining her comeback to the stage. The “Gimme More” purveyor is at work on her personal life, too. E! News has learned that Spears, 27, has been secretly on dates with her longtime talent agent, Jason Trawick. Trawick, 37, a William Morris Agency rep, recently joined Spears for the first four shows of her Circus tour, but we have learned that the two recently have grown much closer away from the workplace.
Trawick declined to comment and referred our request to Spears rep, who has given no official comment on any extracurricular relationship. Trawick’s WMA assistant would only confirm that Trawick had been traveling with Spears on her Circus tour and is now back in L.A. A Spears insider, meanwhile, insists that the singer and the agent strictly have a “close professional relationship” and that’s it, calling it “ridiculous” to suggest the pair is anything close to “romantic.”
Trawick was spotted with Spears and her sons on March 1 in Louisiana, riding around in a golf cart right before she began her tour. The four were wearing sweatshirts, and Trawick was holding Sean Preston while Britney drove, holding Jayden James. In May 2008, Trawick jetted down to Costa Rica with Spears to Mel Gibson’s retreat, sparking romance rumors that were never confirmed. The two were seen smiling and laughing as they boogie-boarded in the surf. Spears wore nothing more than a bikini and rode around on the back of an ATV with her arms firmly planted on Trawick’s waist.
They were then photographed together May 23 at Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday party at L.A.’s Petersen Automotive Museum. Trawick has been credited with helping Spears reunite with her parents, manager Larry Rudolph, and landing her comeback role on How I Met Your Mother. Perhaps most important, Britney’s conservator approves. Says a Spears family confidante: “Jason is one of the few people who Jamie Spears trusts.”

It seems like Britney and Jason are definitely together, regardless of what her friend says. E! also noted that his William Morris Agency bosses know about the relationship and are fine with it. He?s been Brit?s agent for five years, and has other high-powered clients as well, including Paris Hilton, Taylor Swift, and Hilary Duff. It must help their relationship that Trawick is successful in his own right.
In other Britney news, Madonna showed up for her concert in New York City on Wednesday. And of course she made a big show of it, making sure everyone saw her enter with her security team. Us Weekly noted that she had a smirk on her face when she left? possibly trying to imply something bitchy about Madge.
Brit?s mostly getting decent reviews for her concerts so far, and her comeback is definitely moving forwards. It?s not an overnight process but she?s sticking with it. It sounds like her personal life is also moving along quite well, and she might finally have a decent guy again.

Well, not in those exact words. It was more inferred than anything else. Speaking to Harper Bazaar, Gisele says her husband Tom Brady is “very naive, almost like a child.” She goes on to say:
“One thing that I thought was so amazing when I first met him is that he is innocent,” she adds. “He sees the world with colored glasses. He’s very strong and focused in his job, but he’s so sensitive.”
Tom Brady is a big baby who cries a lot. Gotcha. His teammates are going to ride him so hard next season. Expect them to put baby powder in his locker and buy him a warm bottle of milk instead of a beer and go, “Baby want his bottle? They tied the knot Tuesday in Savannah… [in a] secret wedding.
After confirming her engagement to Adams in February, Moore said she wanted the wedding “to slip by unnoticed by everybody. I guess we have to be sort of sneaky about it, but I’ll see what I can accomplish.”
I don’t know how two people who look like that managed to escape the public eye for so long! You’d have thought the Center for Disease Control would have snatched them right off the street and properly quarantined them until they consented to their Hepatitis vaccinations. Maybe they just lived underground like mole people for the last few months. That would at least explain his unfortunate hair color.

Nicole Kidman has been fairly diligent about keeping 8-month-old daughter Sunday Rose away from the paparazzi. But on Tuesday the photographers got new pictures of her ? in fact they?re some of the clearest photos we?ve seen of the baby so far. Nicole took Sunday to a Gymboree class in Nashville. Afterwards both mother and daughter are seen exiting the building looking pretty tired ? and Sunday?s got the most adorable flushed Pink cheeks.
Nicole Kidman takes little Sunday Rose to a Nashville Gymboree Play & Music Center Tuesday, March 10th, afternoon where they both played, danced, and sang with the other mothers and kids. Kidman revealed a slight belly bulge perpetuating the rumors that she may be pregnant with baby #2. As the two left the play center, Kidman looked attentively at a sleepy and over-stimulated Sunday Rose, who resembles her mother more and more each month.

I doubt Nicole is already pregnant again. And I?ll point out that even when she was pregnant with Sunday, you could barely tell. It was as if she were standing straight up in Nicole?s belly instead of curled in the fetal position. If Nicole had even a slight bump, I?d put her at a solid 7 months along. That woman?s womb is supernatural or something.
Nicole does appear to be really exhausted. She?s always so perfectly put together ? it?s sort of nice to see her looking like a semi-regular new mom.

In an interview with Blender magazine, Kelly Clarkson talks about peeing in the shower and “anybody who says they don’t is lying.” She also checks the tissue to see the color of her snot.

I’ve been sitting here all day trying to figure out how Kelly Clarkson could appear more attractive. Kelly goes on to explain that this oversharing she does is part of her charm.

That’s true. I guess. But, it’s like this. There’s a big difference between being told girls fart too and girls actually farting into their hand, cupping your face with it and telling you to “smell it, bitch.” Which is sort of what Kelly did here.

Nicole Scherzinger just made my day! These photos of Nicole from the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon are downright stunning! Nicole looks amazing, and I love the top. One friend notes that this has happened before and they’ve gotten back together so don’t assume John Mayer has the wherewithal to latch onto another actress’ fame so quickly.
God. By now, Jennifer Aniston’s eggs must look like that sandwich you left in the fridge six months ago. You probably need an ice pick to tear them apart because they’ve all crusted together. Her biological clock must be ticking so loudly that she mistakes it for her morning alarm.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has not officially announced the end of her relationship with Ross McCall, and the last we heard was that the engagement is off but the relationship is on. Now Star magazine says that not only is the McCall/Hewitt relationship over, she’s dating her co-star Jamie Kennedy.
The actor joined Hewitt to celebrate her 30th birthday last month (Feb09) and America’s Star magazine claims they are now a couple.
A source tells the publication, “Jennifer and Jamie have grown incredibly close since he joined the cast of her show last fall. They hit it off right away, and her feelings for him have only grown stronger.
“She’s trying to keep her relationship with Jamie a secret, telling people they’re just friends, but she can’t hide her true feelings.
“They work together all day and hang out most nights. And when they aren’t together, they’re constantly on the phone… Jamie makes (her) laugh, which she really appreciates after crying over Ross the last few months.”

Star magazine is not the most reliable source, but I think we cans safely assume that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ross McCall are done. Not many relationships survive a broken engagement, and these two pushed their wedding date back several times.
On a side note, does anyone remember when Jennifer Love Hewitt decided to just go by the name ‘Love’ in the style of Prince or Madonna? I think that’s back when she was going to be a singer rather than an actress. Her music wasn’t too bad, for the actor-turned-singer genre. Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will opened a K-6 elementary school last fall in California called the New Village Leadership Academy. The two homeschool their own children and felt they had the money and knowledge to open their own school. The Smiths have close ties with the Cruises, and Will has donated money to the Church of Scientology. Smith’s school uses some of the teaching methods of Scientology, although Will Smith denies that it is primarily a Scientology school.
Jada now plans to start a high school, one that presumably follows many of the teaching methods of the elementary school, including Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s unproven “study tech”:
Jada Pinkett Smith is adding another title to her resume: schoolmaster. The actress-producer and her husband, Will Smith, opened the New Village Leadership Academy in Calabasas, Calif., last fall. The school is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.

The school’s website says that it has a no-sugar policy; serves organic, fat-free lunches; teaches children at their individual level, not their grade; and has an emphasis on hands-on learning. One wonders how much of the policies they’ll translate into the high school - it will be hard to convince 16-year-olds not to smuggle in candy and chips. But hopefully the individualized teaching and hands-on aspects won’t be put aside. It’s easy for kids to just fall through the cracks, especially in high school. It’s a little surprising, however, that they don’t have plans for a middle school. It seems like that would be the logical next step.

Anne Heche, 39, and James Tupper, 43, had their first child together over the weekend, a son they named Atlas. Anne also has a 7 year-old son, Homer, with her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon. Anne and Coley had an acrimonious divorce, with accusations flying on both sides. Their divorce was finalized earlier this week with Anne ordered to pay an over half million settlement.
Anne Heche and beau James Tupper welcomed their first child together over the weekend, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.
Atlas Heche Tupper weighed in at six pounds, 12 ounces, the rep adds.
Heche finalized her divorce from ex Coley Laffoon — the father of her 7-year-old son, Homer — earlier this week.
“Homer is very excited to be a big brother,” a source tells Us.
Heche exclusively confirmed she was pregnant to Usmagazine.com in December. “They are thrilled,” her rep told Us then.
She and Tupper first met in 2006 on the set of their short-lived ABC drama Men In Trees while Heche was still wed to Laffoon.

The names Homer and Atlas both come from Greek mythology, with Homer attributed as the author of epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey and Atlas a Greek God who held up the heavens. Homer and Atlas are odd baby names, but there are worse, particularly among celebrity families. Considering that this is Anne Heche we’re talking about she could have picked something much more stigmatizing. Congratulations to Anne and James.

These two made their first red carpet appearance together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on February 22 and it’s not surprising that their relationship is kaput yet again:
Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may have called it quits.
That’s the rumor I’m hearing. A source says that the pair’s on-again, off-again relationship may have ended when Aniston returned from overseas, where she was promoting Marley & Me. She returned sometime within the last week.
“He broke up with her when she got back from her European tour,” the source said.
Aniston’s rep did not immediately comment. Mayer’s rep declined to comment on the singer’s personal life.
And what are their friends saying?
One pal warns that we shouldn’t be quick to assume the two are through for good. As we know, this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gone their separate ways.
Aniston recently opened up about love and romance to the U.K. magazine You. “Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That’s hoping too much,” said Aniston, who turned 40 exactly a month ago. “I think every relationship is a world unto itself.”
As for finding the perfect partner, she said, “I don’t have one and I don’t think it exists.”
Aniston and Mayer went public for the first time at the Oscars at the end of last month. Backstage at the Kodak, Aniston told Gayle King, who was interviewing them for her pal Oprah’s show, that she was “very happy.” Later in the night, they strolled arm-in-arm into the Vanity Fair post-show party at the Sunset Tower hotel.

This time, maybe Mayer will have the sense to keep his mouth shut and not blab to the press about their split, but it’s doubtful. If Mayer did break it off I hope she doesn’t let him come crawling back the next time he wants to get publicity for dating a famous woman. There are plenty of great guys who would love to commit to her if that’s what she’s looking for.
According to E!, Aniston is next working on the film The Baster about a woman who opts for IVF treatment with her best friend. She’ll be filming in New York, where she has friends and colleagues and where she headed after her first breakup with Mayer. Hopefully her friends will rally around her and help her realize that she can do better and that she doesn’t have to put up with a hot and cold relationship.
