The Sports Illustrated beauty will play lead role, Roxie Hart, for 11 weeks at the Ambassador Theater in New York City.
During the course of the show?s 15-year run, Brooke Shields, Bebe Neuwirth, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams and Melanie Griffith are among the actresses who have played the sassy role.
Brinkley?s debut is April 4th.

If you watched the Super Bowl, you would have seen Eminem in not one commercial, but two.
Aside from the ?Slim Shady? rapper appearing in a Lipton Brisk Iced Tea ad, he was also featured in a rather serious Chrysler 200 commercial, as well.
Of the Chrysler ad, Andrew Hampp of Advertising Age magazine told press, ?As much as the spot is about what it's like in Detroit, it's very much about having Eminem ... and it wasn't necessarily about a promotion for a particular vehicle, but I came away with a higher appreciation for the Chrysler brand."
In the two minute ad, which was the longest in Super Bowl history, viewers saw a story of Detroit's decline over the past few decades. And, just like Em - whose own career stalled out due to his drug demons - the commercial tracked Detroit's eventual return and promised that the best days are still ahead.
It concludes with a choir singing Eminem's iconic "Lose Yourself," and Eminem saying with a stern face, "This is the Motor City; this is what we do.?
Hampp added, "If anything, the spot did a good job coming up with a way to reposition Chrysler. ... He's authentic to a younger generation, which is what Chrysler needs. The toughest demo for them is not grandmothers, but younger kids who already listen to Eminem and might otherwise buy foreign cars."

I finally watched The Kids Are All Right this weekend, and I was so impressed with the film, particularly with the very convincing way that Julianne Moore and Annette Bening played longterm lovers in a slump. Without giving away any spoilers, the ending was too pat to me. Overall though I thought it was an understated, realistic film that had some touching truisms about marriage and family. Moore’s performance was excellent and Kaiser thinks that Moore should have received some more recognition from the industry.
Anyway Moore gave an interview to The Guardian in which she revealed that a therapist convinced her she needed to get married for her kids’ sake. It sounds like she could be revealing she’s having trouble in her marriage, but if you read between the lines it’s like she’s saying marriage isn’t necessary to prove commitment:
Every family is different. In my family there was one parent you asked for money and the other for permission to do things. You could never get both out of one parent. My father gave me money (”Here’s $50, but you can’t leave the house”) and my mother let me out (”You can go out, but I’m not going to give you any money”) and that was just how it was. I see that with my children too ? my husband and I flip-flop in different roles.
The only reason I got married in 2003 was for my children. I had a therapist who said marriage is really a container for a family and that made sense to me. Bart [Freundlich] and I have been together for years. We have Caleb, 13, and our daughter Liv, who is eight.
I want to be with my husband and kids as much as I can. Some celebrities take their children everywhere with them ? despite having to pull them away from school and friends. Because of my own childhood experiences, I try to work in New York or during the summer when my family can come with me. The days of doing a film where I need to be away for months during the school year are over.
The kids go to a Quaker school. Their father and I believe a lot in community, social responsibility, making sure you give to people less fortunate than you. The children, I think, see fame as separate from me. I always say, “I’m not on the cover because I’m famous. It’s because it’s my job, I’m in a movie.” I stress work and accomplishment and not celebrity.

She sounds like such a good mom and like she’s working to ensure her kids stay grounded. I really like Moore and find her so lovely and normal.
She doesn’t always get it right fashion-wise, though. (Remember her fuchsia dress with the single poof sleeve at the Golden Globes?) Moore wore a white long sleeve shift dress from The Row, the Olsen Twin fashion line, at the Greater New York Human Rights Campaign Gala in New York on Saturday. She’s so lovely and that dress just washes her out and hangs there. Plus it looks ridiculous with those black tights and booties.

I normally don?t give a crap about Gretchen Mol, but I saw these photos and several things surprised me: first, Gretchen is pregnant! With her second baby - which is shocking to me for some reason, because I had no memory of her first pregnancy. Secondly, I was surprised that she looked so good. The dress is Marchesa, and it looks great on her, it?s the right color for her, and the fit is amazing. Third surprise: Gretchen is still working! She?s got a gig on Boardwalk Empire, which I don?t watch, so I didn?t realize she had a job. Hm? she has a job AND she?s wearing Marchesa. Is this all Harvey Weinstein?s doing?? Gross, I know, but now whenever I see Gretchen, I always think of Lainey?s blind item from 2009. So? Gretchen is pregnant again. Interesting.
Boardwalk Empire star Gretchen Mol looked gorgeous and glowing as she arrived on the red carpet in New York last night. The actress dressed her growing baby bump in a flowing turquoise Grecian gown. She was attending the 63rd Annual Writers Guild Awards with her husband Tod ‘Kip’ William.
Looking positively stunning in the Marchesa dress, she has joined the likes of Natalie Portman and Jane Krowlicki, who both recently lit up the Screen Actors Guild Awards’ red carpet in form-fitting gowns which showed off their own growing bumps.
Gretchen, who is due to give birth this month, looks to have chosen the dress for comfort. With an empire line that cuts just underneath the bust, the flowing design complimented the actress’s large baby bump whilst not being too restrictive.
Accompanied by her handsome husband, she kept the focus on her dress by downplaying her accessories. With just a pair a chandelier earrings and her wedding ring, she addressed all of the attention to the flowing frock.
Gretchen announced her pregnancy last year at a film premire. And her timing for the birth couldn’t be any better. Due this month, she is currently on break from filming her hit show Boardwalk Empire. She has a recurring role on the HBO hit series as Gillian Darmody, a showgirl at the Beaux Arts. Gretchen’s impending arrival will be her second child.
The actress recently said that she hasn’t got as nice a reaction as when she was pregnant with her first baby.
‘It?s interesting the reaction ? when people see you and say, “Oh, when are you due? Is it your first?” ‘ she told People magazine. ‘And you say, “No, it?s my second,” they?re like, “Oh, disappointed sigh.” Like, it?s just not as sweet and dramatic.’

And mostly he?d like to piss on one critic?s shoes, because that critic had the audacity to mention, in his review of The Fighter, that Christian Bale is somewhat known for his repeated body transformations for various films. The critic?s words were ?trademark weight loss?. Which? is honestly one of the nicer ways it has been referenced. Some would call it Bale?s ?gimmick in lieu of a true Method? or ?an eating disorder that causes Bale to binge and purge for a paycheck.? Anyway, Christian spoke about the criticism and he lost his temper a little bit. Not as bad as the infamous, taped obscene rant, but it has its moments:
Christian Bale has received both praise and awards for his role in The Fighter, but it seems he doesn’t take criticism quite so well. He wants to ‘piss on the shoes’ of a critic who wrote about his ‘trademark weight loss’ acting.
The actor, who famously had an on-set meltdown filming Terminator: Salvation and also a real-life falling out with his mother and sister, was speaking to the Australian edition of Empire magazine.
The star has previously lost weight for roles in the movies The Machinist and Rescue Dawn. Discussing his role as crack-addicted welterweight fight Dicky Eklund in The Fighter, for which he also lost weight, he said: ‘To be honest, I find it laughable that it’s considered to be some f-cking gimmick - it’s so patronizing. For God’s sake, do people not understand what a pain it is to do? It’s as though it’s some comment about, ‘Oh it’s easy for him, because he’s done it a bunch of times’. It’s not easy, it’s not fun - it’s horrible. I would never pick to do that, but it’s a part that I like and he’s a welterweight and he’s a crackhead. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a welterweight with any fat on him - or a crackhead. So it’s just what you end up having to do. Somebody told me that somebody wrote something about my “trademark weight loss”. I’d just like to piss on that guy’s shoes.’

Matt Damon lost a ton of weight for Courage Under Fire, and then he thinned up for The Talented Mr. Ripley, and then he bulked up for The Informant. Tom Hanks memorably did weight gain and then weight loss for Castaway. There is method to it, and I don?t doubt that it is difficult for Christian to lose and gain so much weight for the roles that he takes. But after a while, it does seem like a gimmick, you know? Doesn?t it seem like every other film he does has him doing some extreme diet? So should we just say ?Oh, that?s His Process? or should we begin to question it just a little - ?Hey, why do you only take roles that have you doing some radical transformation to your body? Do you have issues? Do you think if you had a healthier relationship with food you wouldn’t be such a surly jag all of the time??

Rihanna has once again become embroiled in a new steamy photo scandal after new nude pictures of the R&B star were leaked online last week.
The website which published the pictures claimed they were texted by the pop star herself to a former boyfriend who shared them with his friends – one of whom sent them to the media, reports the Daily Mail.
The naked photos of Rihanna – which she texted to a former boyfriend – shows the 22-year-old topless, clad only in a pair of lacy underwear, covering her breasts with her arms as she poses in a mirror.

She?s facing grand theft charges for allegedly lifting a $2500 necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store, and now Lindsay Lohan may be arrested and paraded in front of the Los Angeles Police Station.
According to TMZ, the ?Mean Girls? actress could be the subject of an arrest warrant that would give cops the option to pick her up, cuff her, and take her to central booking.
Despite the fact that LiLo?s charges are shoplifting-related, the LAPD may decide to have Lindsay do a ?perp walk? as a message to other would-be kleptomaniacs.
The charges could be filed as early as today (February 7), thereby giving Lindsay little time to figure out a publicity-avoiding strategy.

As we learned over the weekend, Lindsay Lohan?s crack thieving ways could land her in jail, for real. TMZ?s sources have been squawking for days about how Lindsay is definitely going to be charged with felony grand theft for the $2500 necklace she stole a few weeks ago. Now TMZ claims that it?s definitely happening today, and now it?s just a matter of whether Lindsay gets cuffed and taken in by police or whether she?s allowed to turn herself in. Somewhere, Mother Crackhead is plotting a Thelma & Louise-style escape to Mexico with nothing but Ali, Lindsay and a brick of cocaine stolen from Charlie Sheen?s house.
Lindsay Lohan could be getting a very unwanted TV role as early as today — accused felon in handcuffs, paraded before scores of cameras.
TMZ broke the story … Lindsay will be charged with felony grand theft as early as today.
An LAPD source tells TMZ … no decision has been made on whether an arrest warrant will be issued — which would then allow cops to find Lindsay, put her in cuffs, and walk her into the station in front of a gaggle of reporters.
There are other options. Authorities could make arrangements for Lindsay to voluntarily surrender at a location and in a manner that would avoid the cameras.
And there’s another possibility … The D.A. could allow Lindsay to surrender in court, at her arraignment. A perp walk in a shoplifting case is unusual, but not unheard of. It would certainly send a message.

Also - a ?source close to Lindsay? (Mother Crackhead) told Radar that Lindsay thinks the prosecutor, Danette Meyers, is ?out to get her? and is using all of these legal (crack) shenanigans to ?get elected?. Meyers spoke to Radar about the cracked-out claims, saying: ?The D.A.’s Office has been fair and compassionate in prosecuting Ms. Lohan on her DUI. The same fairness and justice will be applied in determining whether or not to file charges in the present manner. I think her lawyer would agree with this statement. I believe justice was administered fairly and equitably.”
Also - remember how Lindsay knew that the cops had gotten a search warrant and everything? Well, Radar has another story now, and it?s like a ?Behind the Scenes At Crack Central?. Apparently, Lindsay is a cracked-out liar, even to her inner circle. I know, that?s SO SHOCKING. A source tells Radar: “Lindsay read Radar’s story about the necklace and freaked out. She couldn’t believe that cops had obtained a search warrant for her house. She told advisers close to her that she was never in Kamofie & Company, the jewelry store that she allegedly stole the necklace from. When it was pointed out to Lindsay that there was surveillance video of her in the store, the denials stopped. People in Lindsay’s inner circle say she lies all of the time. Some people believe one of the reasons she does is because Lindsay is trying to be a people pleaser.” Do believe that Lindsay is a crackhead liar because she?s a people-pleaser? I don?t. I think she?s always lying about stuff because she?s cracked out of her skull and she?s always on the crack hustle, on the grift, and she?s always working some angle.

Christina Aguilera, who sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl yesterday, has rejected pleas from her staff to get help after she drunkenly passed out on a bed at a Hollywood party.
The pop idol stumbled into “The Hurt Locker” star Jeremy Renner’s 40th birthday bash last month and was spotted lying on a bed before she was helped out of the party by her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler.
In the wake of her divorce from Jason Bratman and box-office bust “Burlesque,” sources tell us Aguilera has been acting erratically, and her staff banded together with a plan to persuade her to get some help. But when Aguilera caught wind of their plan, she threatened to fire all of them for even suggesting that she has a problem, a source told Page Six.
“They wanted to talk to her carefully about the issue, but they’re not going to because they are scared after she threatened to fire them,” a source close to Aguilera’s camp told us. ?Her people desperately want this to come out so she will get help.”
However, a different source said the story that Aguilera needs help was being spread by a fired and disgruntled former staffer, and that in fact, she’s just dealing with a tough time in her life.
Aguilera has a history of axing her staff. After giving birth to her son, Max, in 2008, she reportedly threw a tantrum and fired her day-to-day manager, one of her assistants and her publicity firm BWR because she was displeased with a photo spread of her baby that ran in People magazine.
On the heels of her Super Bowl appearance, Aguilera plans to perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. A rep for the singer, asked about her recent behavior and her staff’s reaction to it, said, “No comment.”

Ha, I had forgotten that Christina has a history of being a temperamental bitch with her staff. That?s so funny that people got fired over her People Magazine cover - I remember that cover too. It was awful - Christina was wearing a mountain of makeup, and it all just looked so cheesy and unnatural. Ooh? here it is! Look at her nose! So? she?s had a nose job since then, right?

UPDATE: But no one is speaking the truth yet. Christina just released a statement about the National Anthem flub. She says: “I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.” What did ou expect her to say? “I was so drunk, I don’t even remember messing up the line”?

She slipped up on the words to the National Anthem at last night?s Super Bowl, and Christina Aguilera says it was a case of the nerves.
In a statement to press, the ?Ain?t No Other Man? divorcee explained that she was overwhelmed by the whole gig.
?I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.?
Nevertheless, Christina nailed the rest of the song, and then the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gearing up for an outgoing flight, Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner were spotted at LAX International Airport last night (February 6).

As for the recent comparisons between herself and Madonna, Avril says she?s nothing like the Material Girl.

The Daily Mail has a maybe-new interview with Ben Affleck, posted to coincide with the UK DVD release of The Town. (It’s possible it was conducted back in September when the movie was first out in England, but it’s hard to tell from their description.) Affleck talks at length about the process he went through to research the movie, which included spending hours talking to convicted robbers from Charlestown, the neighborhood in Boston that was portrayed in the film. He also said that his best friend, Matt Damon, viewed the film in five different stages of completion and gave him “pages of very smart notes” of where to go with it.
On how Matt Damon helped with The Town
We?ve been friends for 30 years. I can?t believe I?m old enough to say I?ve had a friend for 30 years. But he is a friend, and a partner in a company we have together. He saw The Town in five different versions and each time he saw it he presented me with pages and pages of very smart notes. I?ve got to a stage in life where I have learnt who my real friends are. You don?t need many, you just need good, solid friends. My brother, Casey, is another one and my godfather is a really brilliant guy.
On his research for the film with convicted robbers
I spent hours just talking to the inmates. I developed an excellent relationship with the authorities and we shot one scene in a real maximum-security prison. When you walk in you can just feel decades of sorrow and pain, anxiety and terror, loneliness and misery.
I met one guy who had served 15 years before being released. I asked him to audition for a part in the movie, but I remember being pretty intimidated by him. Then he came in and read and he was amazing. He said, ?My daughter told me if I get in the movie I?ll be a millionaire.? I said, ?You know what, you?re not going to be a millionaire but we?re going to put you in the movie and see what happens.? It changed his life. There are guys in that movie who have been nothing all their lives. Now they are legends at home.
On why he’s a good poker player
Maths aside, it is really a game about knowing yourself and reading other people. There are all these tiny nuances of human behaviour you can tap into, which is why so many actors get into it. Actors are good at it because they learn to detect truth. Tobey Maguire is a better poker player than most poker professionals ? he?s a genius. It?s mesmerising to watch him.
On how he’s content with life
You make mistakes in life and that is what learning and growing up is about. In the movie business it is very easy to get carried away. But now it is nice to be in a place where I feel lucky with my family and really blessed.
Failure is just a function of risk. I look at my great heroes as actors and directors and none of them have perfect records. I imagine I will have an even more imperfect record. I think you have to still be brave enough to take risks. Today I am enjoying the success. Being number one at the box office is pretty cool. But I?ve been round the block enough times to know it won?t last forever.

This begs the question: how much of Damon’s input was used in The Town (which should have earned an Oscar nomination)? I’m sure Affleck is a talented director, and Damon has said as much, but how much of The Town can we credit to Damon? Like those excellent, close up car chase scenes through the labyrinthian streets of Boston bore a certain resemblance to the chase scenes in Prague that were shown in The Bourne Identity. I’ll admit to stirring the pot on this one, but that really occurred to me when I saw the movie.
Also I’m impressed with how Affleck has grown as an actor and family man. He has a good head on his shoulders now and has definitely matured. It’s nice to see his career pick up again.

Soaking up the national spotlight, Christina Aguilera was front and center at Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, TX on Sunday (February 6).
The "Burlesque" beauty was joined by boyfriend Matthew Rutler as she preceded kickoff while giving the Cowboys Stadium crowd a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.
Miss Aguilera joined a lineup of star performers including Lea Michele and halftime show leaders The Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Slash.
The Super Bowl stop comes as Christina is just returned to the States following a visit to Brazil for Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
