Seeing that he has the best-selling album of the year, it only makes sense that Eminem has been chosen at the opening act for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
With the ceremony taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday night (September 12), MTV general manager Stephen Friedman confirmed that the "Recovery" rapper will get things underway at the Nokia Theatre shindig.
"We thought that there's no better way to kick off the show than a performance from Eminem," Friedman told of the decision to pick Eminem, who's nominated for 8 trophies, as well.
As for the preparations for the annual event, VMA executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic said, "Every year, we try to have a theme and purpose beyond just giving awards away. This year, being back in Los Angeles, we really gravitated toward mid-century modern architecture and the pop culture of the '50s, like the youth-oriented rebellion films 'Rebel Without a Cause' and 'Wild Ones.' It's a very L.A. kind of a set."

"We're down to the final three but today we had all 17 designers back for the reunion," she said. "And they're very emotional designers, they ask a lot from themselves. And I think that's why season eight has been very successful, because they reveal a lot of their feelings and people can connect more with that."
As for the latest crop of contestants, Miss Klum dishes, "They're softies this season! And they get aggravated fast--they fight quite a bit and they show their emotions a lot. Today [at the reunion] one of them who [had been eliminated] wanted me to tell them why they had to leave. They didn't understand it! They said, 'People came to me and told me the other person's design was so much uglier,' why did I have to leave? It's so sad!"

It?s been forever since we?ve had a good Gwyneth Paltrow story! She went on a Goop holiday for all of August, so the peasants basically had NO IDEA what to wear, eat, go or think for like six whole weeks. Plus, Gwyneth didn?t ever deign us with her presence out in public - God knows where she was all that time. Perhaps getting a little work done? Because she looks a little bit tweaked in these photos - she went out in London last night, stepping out to support her friend Stella McCartney, who was doing something or the other (what do I know?).
One very notable thing about these new Gwyneth photos - she looks really good. Fresh and pretty and? showing off her bra in a very low-cut crisp white blouse. Goopy boobs! It also looks like she?s wearing some kind of windbreaker cape-let? Weird. I thought Dame Goopy would break out in hives at the mere glance of synthetic fabrics, but the windbreaker is probably designed by Stella, and synthetic is okay as long as it costs a thousand dollars. But why the showing of the bra? I can?t believe Gwyneth would deign to pull such an uncouth, trashy move? almost Lohan-esque. Is Gwyneth trying to sex it up a bit? She has an agenda, trust me. I?m just too much of a peasant to understand it now.
Maybe she?s trying to get her husband?s attention? God knows where Chris Martin is. Although, I have to admit, I thought we?d be hearing about her split from Chris at this point in the program. I was wrong - Gwyneth and Chris saved their marriage. Good for them? Sure.
Also, her Goop newsletter this week - it?s all about fall fashion and shopping. Goopy is smart enough to give us a list of the ?budget? looks we should be buying this season, all reasonably affordable save the odd Stella McCartney four-figure purchase suggestion. Gwyneth also did a video with some ?friends? at a shop to talk, anthropologist-like, about what the peasants should wear. Chuckle? that really is what Gwyneth is like now, an anthropologist of peasants. She?s trying to learn from us, people! She?s studying how we live, so that she can suggest ways to make our little lives better. Anyway, the video? my favorite part is when Gwyneth says ?okay? in this absolutely condescending, snotty way when she?s told the women are ?J.Crew obsessed.” Enjoy:

An ex bodyguard of Britney Spears has filed a lawsuit for sexual harassment and emotional distress. Fernando Flores worked or Britney from February to May of this year and alleges that the 28 year-old pop singer repeatedly exposed herself to him along with abusing her two sons, which he supposedly witnessed. We’ve heard this from Flores before as he first spoke to the press in June, telling British paper The Sun that Britney often walked around naked and was seen hitting little Sean Preston with a belt. Britney was investigated by CPS and cleared after that claim.
Here are details from TMZ* Radar quotes a source who says that Flores “doesn?t want to settle this. He says he wants the lawsuit to go all the way.?
According to the suit, a copy of which TMZ has obtained, Fernando Flores claims Britney made “repeated unwanted sexual advances” toward him by exposing herself in front of him in her home.
Flores alleges, on one occasion — in a scene right out of “Legally Blonde” — “She was wearing a white lace, see-through dress. She walked over close by [Flores], intentionally dropped her cigarette lighter on the floor, bent over to retrieve it and thereby exposed her uncovered genitals to [Flores].” The lawsuit goes on, “The incident caused [Flores] shock and disgust.”
The suit then goes on to describe another alleged instance where Britney summoned Flores to her room, where she was standing naked. The suit claims, “After an awkward silence during which [Britney] just stood naked before [Flores], [Flores] asked Spears if she needed anything. After some hesitation, Spears asked [Flores] to get her two bottles of 7 Up.”
One time after allegedly exposing herself, the suit claims Britney said, “You know you liked it.”
And the suit says, “In addition to exposing herself to [Flores], Spears engaged in numerous sex acts in front of [Flores].” There’s also an allegation Britney was “loudly having sexual relations” in a hotel suite where her kids were present. The suit does not say if the kids saw anything.
And there is a more serious allegation — The suit claims on one occasion Britney allegedly demanded Flores’ belt, then walked in the house and allegedly twice “savagely hit the small child [Preston]” with the belt.
And the suit claims on another occasion Britney fed both kids crabmeat even though she knew they had serious fish allergies. The suit claims both kids started vomiting and Spears allegedly prevented anyone from seeking medical help, allegedly telling them, “Mind your own f**king business!”
Although it is not mentioned in the lawsuit, sources have told TMZ … Flores contacted the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. And we’re told DCFS investigated and determined the claim had no merit.

It’s very easy to believe that Britney would proposition her bodyguard and walk around naked in front of the guy. This is her M.O. and we’ve seen her do it for the paparazzi for years. I hope that the boys were sleeping when she had sex in the hotel suite where they were all staying, that she never fed them crabmeat knowing they were allergic, and that she never hit Preston with a belt. I could see her hitting her boys with a belt though, as depressing as it is to think about someone treating a little kid like that. Britney is mentally ill and we’ve seen that she has poor parenting skills. Still, we have to consider this guy’s motivations and the fact that these are just allegations at this point. He’s not the first bodyguard to claim that Britney is an awful mother, though.
*It’s worth noting that there are two stories of potential child abuse, the belt and the food allergy incident, that TMZ and Radar report are in the lawsuit, but that don’t appear in the PDF of the lawsuit on TMZ. Radar has those allegations in the PDF of the lawsuit they posted. It looks like the two sites have different versions of the same lawsuit, with some pages missing from TMZ’s.

He indirectly told Kristen Stewart to give up her acting career if she hates fame so much, but Adam Brody says he didn?t mean to come off the way he did.
The ?Romantics? actor gave an interview on Diablo Cody?s online talk show recently where he was asked if he liked being a celebrity or would rather be ?just an actor,? an obvious reverence to the ?Twilight? actress? sentiments.
And in response, Brody explained, "It's only gotten worse, I'm sure, being a celebrity. At the same time, I don't have a lot of patience for people who moan about it too much. Because there are many things you could do. ... It's like, quit ... you don't need to be an actor, so it's like, if it's that much of a problem ... there's the door."
After receiving a ton of negative responses to his remarks, Adam told press, "I, no, I just, I, this is horrible. It wasn't taken out of context. I saw [the episode] and thought I sounded like an idiot. I did. Regardless of how anyone else took anything, I would think that sounds very ungentlemanly and I sounded like a jackass."

My problem is not that she?s slightly heavier than she was a year ago - my problem is that she is still wearing the same clothes that she wore when she was thinner. You know, the same looks. The work duties come as Miss Livley gears up for an all-new season of "Gossip Girl" premiering on The CW on Monday, September 13 at 9/8c.
Talking about the show and her career with Starpulse, Blake said, "I'm on a very commercial show so the last thing I want to do is a commercial movie. I wanna take risks, I don't wanna play it safe. I mean, I could probably make more money if I did more commercial projects. It would be nice to buy an apartment but I'm 22 and I don't need to yet."
As for how long she's locked into the CW gig, the blonde beauty tells, "We have six-year contracts but who knows how long TV shows ever run. They don't always go the full term contracted? We're in season four."

The previous day was all about relaxation for Paris, as she listened to some tunes before ending the night with a movie.
Paris tells, "Listening to Jack Johnson. What an amazing song writer and singer. I love all his music." She adds, "In bed about to watch Legends of the Fall :)"

Stepping out for a good cause, Taylor Swift partook in the NFL's Play 60 campaign to fight childhood obesity event in New Orleans on Wednesday (September 8).
The country singing cutie joined up with football stars such as Deuce McAllister, Derrick Brooks, and Eddie George at the Michelle Obama hosted festivities.
Speaking to the crowd, First Lady Obama said to the luck 70 participants, "We're here because of you. We want you guys to grow up strong and healthy. Anyone can be smart and funny but if you're not in good health, we know that you will have a hard way to go."
Meanwhile, running back Deuce McAllister said, "To team up with the first lady is definitely a good thing. It goes right with what we're doing here today. I think the biggest thing is to keep people healthy now. If we do that, we may not have these diseases we're seeing popping up, like heart disease and diabetes."
