We were just talking about Paulina Poriskova and how she feels like shes being dismissed and ignored now that shes getting older. That must be a big adjustment for a supermodel used to getting stares and attention. (I cant relate to that as Ive cultivated a bitch vibe to keep men away since I was young.) Christie Brinkley, on the other hand, has pretty much made a cottage industry out of remaining approachable, sunny and positive. Shes 68, shes had a lot of work done that shes cagey about, but she loves talking about getting older and staying sexy. To each their own, and it is interesting to see the difference in how the 80s supermodels talk about it. Christie was just on The Masked Singer. I didnt know that she could sing, but she did Chicago on Broadway when she was 57. Christie told Yahoo Entertainment/SiriusXM Volume about that and about how women are aging differently than they used to.
?The first thing that they said to me [when I started modeling in 1973, at age 19] was, ?Get it while you can, because theyll chew you up and spit you out by 30. Youll be over-the-hill and done-for,?? Brinkley recalls. ?I was like, ?Whoa, OK!? And theyre like, ?No, seriously ? its like an athlete. Theres a certain amount of years that you can do it, and then after that, youre just no good.? And I was, ?Whoa, thats harsh. I think weve got to change that.??
?A 60-year-old today doesnt look like a 60-year-old from the ?50s,? Brinkley says. ?[My generation is] saying, ?Oh no, youre not going tell me Im not supposed to do that at my age, that Im not supposed to have hair past my shoulders, or that Im not supposed to have a hemline at a certain length, or Im not supposed to switch gears and do a completely new job starting right now.? This generation has thrown all of that out the window and said, ?Dont boss me around!? ? This is the generation that is literally reshaping the numbers. Instead of those numbers shaping us and dictating to us, were redefining those numbers.?
?I think a lot of people focus on aging as, like, counting wrinkles and counting numbers. And its not about that at all,? Brinkley muses. ?Its counting adventures and memories and smiles, really. So, I welcome every adventure, and Im so happy and thrilled that the producers of The Masked Singer invited me to do this. I?m very grateful. And I think gratitude also plays a huge part in staying young at heart, because when you can find something to be grateful about ? no matter where you are, no matter what the situation ? it puts a smile on your face. And lets face it: A smile is the best thing you can put on your face.?
[From Yahoo.com]
A few weeks ago I saw a tweet I cant find again that said women looked older in the past because their styling was so dated, basically. (This article with an old advertisement from the 60s is similar.) Were aging better because were keeping up with the trends and also because were taking better care of our skin. Plus its plastic surgery and injectables in Christies case especially. This also reminds of the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, which came out in 1999, when Rene Russo was just 45. They made a big deal back then about the fact that she was a sexy older woman. She was 45 for Gods sake! Not only have womens styles changed over the decades, societal perceptions of older women have too. Christie bugs in a lot of ways, but I appreciate her perspective.

Christie Brinkley and the fabulous Wendi McLendon-Covey were on Access Live to talk about Christie?s guest appearance on The Goldbergs, where Christie recreated her scene in Vacation by pulling up next to the Goldbergs in a red convertible on the highway. I haven?t watched The Goldbergs in years, it?s a cute show but it felt played out after a couple of seasons. The formula got old to me but respect to them for continuing it and there?s even that spinoff show Schooled with Tim Meadows, which had its second season premiere too. (Side note I?ve been listening to the fabulous new Pajiba podcast, where they?re talking about new and returning TV shows and there are so many shows I haven?t even heard of! If you?re looking for new shows to watch check them out they are so funny. I love Dustin?s rants, and they have great recommendations.)
Anyway the first part of the interview wasn?t that interesting to me, they were just talking about the show, but at the end Christie mentioned aging and being fabulous. Wendi is turning 50 and Kit mentioned that, which is why Christie started talking about it. Here?s what she said:
Wendi: I feel like getting a shirt that says ask me how old I am
Christie: I love that theyre declaring their age because 50 aint what it used to be. In the old fashioned days people used to lie about their age. Women really need to declare their age now because our image of those numbers has to shift. It will only shift when we see gorgeous women like these saying Im turning 50 and its like this is 50. This is the result of a healthy diet, exercise, all the advances that we know about now. 50 just aint what it used to be.
[From Access Live]
She was right about some points but of course she only alluded to plastic surgery and injectables. No shame on women who get those, I probably will soon-ish, but that?s the unspoken part of this conversation. As someone closer to 50 than 40, it?s inspiring to see Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer and to a lesser extent Christie Brinkley and Gwen Stefani, looking incredible over 50. I think the key is fitness and nutrition, but of course skincare and injectables play a large role too. However most of it is privilege, which is time and wealth. They have time for exercise, spa treatments, dermatologist visits, mindful eating and just to focus on themselves. So many women work full time jobs, care for a family and do most of the housework. We?re also expected to look as good as possible, while living our life for other people.
Christie Brinkley also talked about giving her DWTS gig to her daughter Sailor after Christie broke her arm. Theres no way that was a set up as some people have claimed.
Heres that interview. The part I quoted is at the end.

Christie Brinkley has changed her story several times about whether shes had botox or work done. When you see her on video its clear that shes pulled taut, Ill say that, and that her cheeks are very puffy. Ive done several stories on her varying explanations for what kind of treatments and skincare she gets and rather than recap all that Ill point you there. Her story changes based on what shes promoting. She looks great, she just looks worked on and she looks much different than even a decade ago. Anyway Christie mentioned wrinkles in this interview about aging like she totally welcomes them and is not trying to avoid them by any means necessary.
?I honestly have had years in my life where I?d be like, ?Wait a minute, how old am I again??? Brinkley exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. ?I just don?t think about it.?
Fortunately, her ageless face ? which stems from good genes, clean living and Ultherapy treatments ? doesn?t reveal the years of hard work and personal tribulations she had to endure over the years. Still, she remains humble about her appearance. [Ed note...]
?When I started doing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue [in 1979], I was very concerned about trying to live up to the image they projected of this hot body in a bathing suit,? the National Lampoon?s Vacation actress explains. ?I?m kind of in the same situation with aging. Aging is inevitable. If I?m lucky, I?m going to be running around as an older woman with my hard-earned wrinkles. It?s inevitable.?
[From US Magazine]
I have no problem with women getting whatever they want done to look younger or to change the shape of their faces or bodies. Just dont make a cottage industry out of looking younger and selling products for that and then act like its all minor procedures and youre really into aging. She makes my job so easy though and I appreciate that. Like all I have to do is point out the things she says and throw up a photo.

I like my women when they look in between the ages of 18 and 30 with some exceptions, most notably Christie Brinkley. So when I see Kylie Jenner and know that she is 20, I cant believe anyone would pay money to look like that. She must have a mental illness. That being said, this []

Why I first saw this story I thought “Christie Brinkley sure changes her story about what she gets done to her face.” Then I realized that her face changes so much she probably is telling the truth – she varies her procedures, she’s just not reminding us about her past work while trying to take advantage of the next news cycle and our forgetfulness. (But really, only gossip nerds like me remember the things she’s said.) So here’s Christie’s latest anti-aging procedures, which seem to be accumulating over time to give her a comical look in motion. She’s into a Botox alternative called Xeomin which is being touted as similar to Botox but allowing for more movement. This is the first I’m hearing about it. She’s also into Ultherapy, which is ultrasound for your face. (I have the Nuface mini, which is an at-home microcurrent machine and I swear it works to lift, at least temporarily. It’s a slight different treatment than ultrasound.)
Here’s what Brinkley said about her latest treatments, and FYI in 2015 she said she’d “tried” Botox in her forehead and wouldn’t ever do it again, then later in 2015 she said she gets Botox in her neck and laser resurfacing. In 2016 she denied getting Botox and said she had fillers in “tiny doses”. (That was around the time she put out a skincare line.) She’s never copped to invasive plastic surgery, which would explain how her eyes changed shape the past ten years. Of course Christie is a spokesperson for both of these new treatments, which probably didn’t do much given everything she’s had done to date.
?I wondered if people would think I?m phony and fake,? Brinkley, 63, exclusively tells PEOPLE of using the treatments in a new interview featured in this week?s issue, on newsstands Friday. ?But it?s better to be honest and say, ?Yeah, this is what I do.??
Her goal was ?never to look different,? says the model and author of Timeless Beauty, who has become the spokeswoman for both products, which are owned by the pharmaceutical company Merz North America. ?But I?m almost 64. At a certain point, you might need a little something extra. When I look in the mirror, I want to feel like I look as good as I feel. And if you can have something done to feel more confident and better about yourself, then you feel like your face matches your spirit?and my spirit is enthusiastic and energetic.?
First, she got Xeomin (pronounced ZEOmin), which is an injectable that temporarily improves the look of frown lines between the eyebrows. It works by blocking the transmission of signals from nerves to the muscles, which causes muscles to relax and appear smoother. ?It?s similar to other botulinum toxins [like Botox],? says Brinkley?s dermatologist Dr. Patricia Wexler of Wexler Dermatology in New York City.
However, it?s a more ?purified toxin,? says the dermatologist because it doesn?t use accessory proteins like other products. ?Given correctly, you?ll have a very natural look of lift in the area.? A single treatment ranges from $300 to $500 and lasts up to four months.
?I was so afraid to do it,? Brinkley says of trying Xeomin. ?But I still feel like myself. I could still move my eyebrows and I feel like I have all my same funny faces. It was like a non-invasive pick-me-up.?
[Her dermatologist also touts Ultherapy which costs around "$1,800 per area treated, and it takes between two to three months to see full results."]
If there are naysayers to her latest beauty secret reveal, she?s ignoring them. ?There are always going to be the people who build themselves up by pulling you down,? she says. ?But then there are the women who are supporting women. And if there are little things that I can do that are going to make me feel great, make me look good for my job and that would be selfish of me not to share it,? she says.
[From People]
This is what she always says, that she doesn’t want to look different but she does look different. She looks good (I think she looked better a few years back when she was using treatments sparingly), just different and obviously enhanced. I wonder if People is running these stories as needed filler or if they’re actually getting paid by Merz to include Christie’s endorsement. (We’re not getting paid.)

| Christie Brinkley surprises daughter Sailor with news she's an SI Swimsuit model | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is a pretty big deal for a commercial model. I think finding out you get to be in that issue would be news you?ve practiced receiving from the moment you began your career as a model. Sailor Brinkley-Cook, the daughter of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook, is such a model. Actually, I?m not sure what kind of model she wants to be, commercial or fashion, but she did appear alongside her mother and sister last year in the magazine’s 2017 Swimsuit issue. I?m not trying to take anything away from Alexa and Sailor but I have to assume the ?get? for that issue was Christie. But not this year. Sailor, it was just announced, will be appearing on her own as a rookie model in next year?s issue. To let Sailor know, SI set up a phony interview scenario, which Christie ?crashed? too tell her the big news. You can watch the whole thing and all the emotional reactions on their website and below:
Again, I’m sure this is huge news for a model-hopeful to receive. But is anyone that surprised that Christie Brinkley?s daughter will appear in the SI Swimsuit Issue ? again? I mean, even SI is running with the headline ?Christie Brinkley daughter becomes a SI Swimsuit Model.? Congratulations to Sailor for getting a solo spread but didn?t we all accept this as a foregone conclusion? I guess Sailor didn?t, though because she?s clearly excited. I?m sure she?ll look amazing and I generally think the SISI is a beautiful issue. The photoshoot will be in Aruba ? gawd, what I wouldn?t give to be in Aruba. Maybe I can hold the lighting shields.
Since I?m already being salty; I get that this was a spectacular way to break the news – having her supermodel mother surprise her with it on video as everyone rushed out and cried. But isn?t one of the best parts of getting good news getting to tell people about it? I still love calling my parents when I have good news. I pout a little over the fact my kids are old enough to call their grandparents about various accomplishments so I don?t get to. However, this is particularly newsworthy because Sailor will be the very first second-generation model for SI so I guess that?s why they went to all the trouble. Still, in most of their promo shots, it?s Christie taking pics of Sailor in her swimsuit. So sure, she?s passing the baton and all that but this is supposed to be Sailor?s moment, right?
I don?t like that swimsuit they gave her either. Although, if it was my ticket to Aruba, I?d suck it up.

| Christie Brinkley wears a bikini all day to avoid tan lines: believable? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Christie Brinkley is such a hustler. She makes me roll my eyes a lot, but there’s something admirable about the way that she just continues to get press for the same thing – her looks and her body. She’s a model, she never really changed up her game, and it’s still working for her. She’s looking a bit puffy lately in the face, for lack of a better word, and by that I mean she’s had too many fillers, but it will settle and in photos it’s not as easy to notice as in motion. Anyway Christie is one of the many stars in Gap’s new Bridging The Gap commercial, which is meant to celebrate diversity and includes Christie as the sole older person. It also has Wiz Khalifa, Alek Wek, and Priyanka Chopra and features everyone dancing around to Boney M’s “Sunny.” You can watch the video here. As part of promotion for her commercial, Christie told People that she regularly tools around her house and garden in a bikini because of course she does.
?I always put a bikini on and say, ?Oh, it is just to wear around the house. I am not going to go anywhere in it. I just want to get a little color while I am gardening,’? Brinkley, who stars in Gap?s newest Bridging the Gap campaign, told PeopleStyle. ?I run around trimming my begonias to even everything out so I don?t have any tan lines.?
Her reasoning is simple: ?When you?re naked, you want those parts tanned!? Before anyone worries that she?s not practicing sun safety, she?s clear that she?s careful about protecting her skin. ?I don?t care how much sunblock you put on, when you?re outdoors as much as I am, you?re going to get some color.?
Although Brinkley?s plan is just to keep her bikini-clad bod to herself at home, sometimes her paddle-boarding takes her to areas that are a little bit more public than she bargains for.
?Where I live there is a side of the island that is the hotel area, and I end up paddle boarding down when I don?t intend to be there,? the star told us. But she takes it all in stride. ?You know what? You can?t really critique a person over 50 ? it is just like, if they are brave enough to put on a bikini then you let them be!?
[From People]
I like that she specified that she still wears sunscreen anyway. I’m one of those very pale people who only gets freckles so I just wear a full light shirt if I’m going to be out in the sun all day. (I’m not a gardener though.) As an aside, while I’ve always been conscientious about wearing sunscreen on my face, one thing I wish I had done earlier is wear sunscreen on my hands. I’m starting to get those spots on my hands and they definitely give away my age. I guess I’m surprised that Christie hangs out regularly in a bikini, assuming this stupid anecdote is true. She’s so slavishly devoted to looking young, I would think she would cover up more. Maybe she figures that she can always have something done at the dermatologist to reverse it.
Christie also did an interview with InStyle, where she called Instagram “the new knitting,” said she’s “attuned to beauty” because of it, and explained that she tells her kids not to stress about what other people think. “I always say to my kids, I just want you to relax and not feel like you have to worry about what ‘they’ think. Because who is they? ‘They’ doesn?t exist. Everybody is busy in their lives and there’s a few little gossips here and there, in the big picture, what does it matter.” She explained that well, and usually the beauty she’s attuned to is her own. I’m just saying she has a lot of selfies, as do most people.

| Christie Brinkley uses filler to fix 'a line I don't like, not to look different' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Christie Brinkley has often been asked the secret to looking great at 63 and while she’s admitted to getting Botox and filler after changing her story about that, she usually focuses on more natural prevention measures, like exercise and diet. She has a whole book about that, called Timeless Beauty, and right around the time she released that book she started admitting to injectables, but she’s never owned up to more invasive plastic surgery. The entire shape of her eyes has changed but she’s still minimizing the amount of work she’s had done. In what I believe is a new interview with New Idea magazine (via Daily Mail), Brinkley said she does “tiny, minute” amounts of filler but not to look “hugely different.” Oh and she also has a skincare line because of course she does.
‘I truly think my vegetarian diet plays a huge role (in looking younger)’ Christie told the publication.
Recalling how she became a ‘lifelong vegetarian,’ the blonde bombshell said she ‘read about the slaughterhouses’ and decided she was ‘not going to be a part of that system’.
‘I’ve been vegetarian ever since,’ she added.
But the aspiring actress said it is also about the mentality of how people approached their food, claiming she is strongly opposed to dieting.
‘We have to stop thinking of healthy eating as a ‘diet’, which I call deny-eting. It’s like you are denying something you should be having,’ Christie said.
‘Instead you need to have a paradigm shift and be like: “I have the opportunity to gift myself”‘.
And a treat every once in a while was not off the tables, with the entrepreneur enjoying alcohol occasionally, calling a glass of Prosecco an ‘exclamation point on the end of a good day’.
The model, who was the face of CoverGirl for 25 years, did admit she had tried her hand at cosmetic surgery though, but insisted it was ‘tiny, minute amount’.
‘I just do it if I have a line I don’t like, not to look hugely different,’ she disclosed to the publication.
But while she has experimented with Botox, she admitted it was ‘a disaster,’ joking that her eyebrows were not expressive enough for her.
A fan of keeping active, Christie also told New Idea she feels like she has to move everyday, ‘because you rust if you don’t’.
Among her favourite’s seemed to be simple and relaxing activities, saying: ‘You can never get tired of yoga’.
[From New Idea via The Daily Mail]
Yeah look at her chipmunk cheeks. In motion (you can see an interview with her from last week here) she looks overfilled. I googled it and apparently fillers like Juvederm do build up and last longer each time so while she may be getting “tiny” amounts the results are very noticeable and she does look different. Also, because I’m lazy I just used older before and after photos of her below, but check out the “after” photos compared to how puffy she’s looking now. That’s not weight gain, she’s incredibly fit. That’s all I’m saying. I would pay a lot of money to look like her “after” photos even when I got to be about 55 maybe, but her photos now make it look painful. As I’ve said I hope it fades for her.
