After rumors soared that the 48 year-old and his Italian beauty Elisabetta Canalis called it quits, Clooney couldn?t keep quiet.
?Once again the story is made up, spread to other outlets and now denied," Clooney, said in a statement released after the reports covered Internet. Adding he said, "But don't let facts get in the way of a good story." The couple has been together for nine months and was first seen together last summer, with their first appearance at September?s Venice Film Festival.

She's been referred to as a serial dater in the past, and it sounds like Jennifer Love Hewitt is falling for the wrong type of guys.
The "Ghost Whisperer" actress who recently split from Jamie Kennedy, admits to being cheated on ?a lot? in her life. "It's brutal," she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Tuesday (April 6). "Once I found out on television and that was awesome. And then another time I found them together ... and that was, woooo!"
Hewitt admitted to walking in on the couple and ended up knowing the girl. "That was not good," she says, adding that she also found out another partner was cheating because she "had a feeling" and then "found phone stuff." But thankfully, with Kennedy it was different "We are sort of opposites -- I am sort of this gushy hopeless romantic and he is sort of this realist," she says. "So, he really taught me how to look at the reality of things like love whereas I had my head in the clouds before. He very much taught me some things and he taught me a lot about men and what they think."
On the bright side of things Hewitt is ready for some change and wants to take control. She joked that she will not go after famous men like she has in her past, although she never purposely went after them. "I don't seek them out," she says. "I am starting to think maybe that's not the way to go."

Always lending a helping hand, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted visiting Bosnian refugees at the former Yugoslav republic of Montenegro on Tuesday (April 6).
The "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star knows Montenegro from when he shot "The Dark Side of the Sun" there in 1988. The owner of the Splendid hotel near Budva explained, "Brad Pitt told me that he had wanted to show Montenegro to Angelina as he had nice memories of Perast, Sveti Stefan and Kotor where he had shot one of his first movies, at the beginning of his career in 1980s. He told me they could bring the kids here for a vacation as they like it and the nature is nice."
The couple was in Bosnia on Monday and spent time visiting internally displaced Bosnians that continue to live in the collective centers that still have horrific conditions, even 14 years after the end of the war.
Meanwhile, Jolie is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN's refugee agency UNHCR and, as previously reported, is filming "The Tourist" in Venice with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, who was behind the critically acclaimed 2007 German film "The Lives of Others."

Having a caring heart, Madonna feels especially close to the Malawian orphans.
The famous singer is currently spending time in the African nation with her children, Lourdes, 13, Rocco, 9, adopted Mercy, 5, and David, 4 ? with Mercy and David both being from the country.
During the trip, Madonna is excited to be able to help the young women with the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls school.
In a blog about building the school she wrote, ?On my first visit to Malawi, I was devastated to meet child after child who had been orphaned by AIDS. Having lost my mother at such a young age, I felt a close connection to these children. Their stories had touched my own. In a country of 14 million, a staggering one million children have been left alone with the responsibility of raising each other. I returned home knowing the future of Malawi was resting on the shoulders of these orphaned children, and I had to act.?
Meanwhile, Madonna wants to reunite David and Mercy with their original families, but Mercy?s father, 25-year-old James Kambewa, has left the country.
It is said he may have left because of all the attention he was receiving from accusations saying he got her mother, 14-year-old Mwandida, pregnant ? which lead to her death during childbirth.
However, David?s father, Yohane Banda, can?t wait to reunite with his son. ?I am excited David is coming,? he said. ?I want him to meet his stepmother and new sister and brother.?

We?ve finally got photos, video and a full statement from Angelina Jolie, who traveled with Brad Pitt to Bosnia on Sunday, and stayed through all of Monday. Angelina and Brad met with refugees, on behalf of the UNHCR?s continuing work and peacekeeping mission in-country. The UNHCR has an extensive blow-by-blow account of Angelina and Brad?s activities over the past two days (full piece here), but they also have Angelina?s statement, speaking as a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR:
UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie, travelling with her partner Brad Pitt, on Monday visited internally displaced people and returnees in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jolie’s trip came over fourteen years after the end of the war that ravaged this Balkan country. She took a break from working on her latest movie to highlight the plight of 113,000 Bosnians displaced from their homes and 7,000 refugees from Croatia, many of whom are living in collective centres, often in appalling conditions.
Jolie visited a collective centre in the town of Gorazde where the residents live in dilapidated accommodation with little support and with many completely overwhelmed by helplessness. She then moved on to a village near Visegrad where Jolie visited a family and talked about their return to an area that saw some of the worst atrocities of the war. Jolie said she was “so inspired by these families. Despite the grim realities of their unsettled existence, they have an incredible determination to make a better future for their children.” Jolie then travelled to the town of Rogatica where she visited displaced people in another collective centre lacking basic amenities, such as running water.
From 1992-95, when war raged in the country, over 2.2 million people were displaced. That displacement shattered lives then and the suffering continues to this day for many. Some of those Jolie met during her visit spoke of the terrible anguish they had endured, including rape and torture, with one woman saying “I have my body, but it no longer has a soul.”
“After seeing these people and hearing their stories, I cannot overemphasise the need to focus on the wellbeing of the most vulnerable individuals of the population,” Jolie said, adding that “?by ending displacement and ensuring quality of life, we can help to promote progress and long-term stability.”
Jolie also met UNHCR staff who told her about proposals to help resolve the situation of those still displaced. “I hope we can find solutions for the remaining tens of thousands of displaced people,” Jolie said, adding “?only then can we really close one of the most tragic chapters in modern history.” Although her visit was short on this occasion, Jolie said that she hopes “to return to this beautiful country soon and meet with political representatives to further discuss the solutions that are so badly required.”
Looking to the future she noted that “Bosnia and Herzegovina now has the opportunity to move forward by ending displacement and further capitalising on the EU accession process. The local leadership has the ultimate responsibility to make choices to ensure that this will happen.”

I think this is what divorcing couples should aim for - forget the bullsh-t, and just focus on the kids and having a cordial relationship. Easier said than done, I know. But here are Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet giving it the old college try today, as they take their kids to school in New York. This photo op comes not a moment too soon, because the British tabloids (and to a lesser extent, the American tabloids) had Winslet in a state of frenzy, sobbing on Emma Thompson?s shoulder and screaming at the ocean, all while trying to seduce her dearest friend, Leo DiCaprio. Meanwhile, Sam Mendes was portrayed as a douche who dumped his beautiful wife for either a younger version (Rebecca Hall) or the old girlfriend who he just couldn?t stop thinking about (Rachel Weisz). She’s has an Oscar to her name but Kate Winslet’s acting skills were really put to the test as she reunited with estranged husband Sam Mendes today. The 34-year-old managed to raise a convincing smile as the pair staged a united front for the sake of the children.
She emerged from her New York apartment holding the hand of her nine-year-old Mia, from her first marriage to assistant director Jim Threapleton. Director Sam, 44, followed close behind with their son Joe, 6, in tow.
The pair piled into the same car and proceeded to drop the children to school.
It is the first time they have been seen together since they announced the end of their almost seven year marriage last month.
The triplex property, where they lived for six years, is in the city’s affluent Chelsea district and is said to have been put on the market for 3.9million. Sam is believed to be living in an office that he has in the building, while Kate and the two children have remained in the three-bedroom, three-storey flat at the top of the building.
Kate has spoken of her desire to move back to England to be closer to friends and family, but has been staying in Manhattan while she films Mildred Pierce, a mini series for the HBO channel.
The five-part series is based on the the 1941 Jame M. Cain novel about a woman who leaves her unemployed husband and re-builds her life.
Kate has maintained a dignified silence since her split from Sam, but on Saturday, the Daily Mail’s Katie Nicholl reported that she is angry that he has got back in touch with his ex-girlfriend Rachel Weisz.
Sam has been widely tipped to direct the new James Bond movie and, according to industry sources, is determined to cast Rachel, 40, as one of the villains.
A source said: ‘As soon as Kate and Sam split, he was on the phone asking Rachel if she was interested in doing the movie. Rachel has always been persona non grata in the Winslet-Mendes household, and Kate went ballistic when she heard that Sam wanted to hire her.?
‘Sam has wanted to work with Rachel for ages, but Kate would not allow it. Although they ran in the same Hollywood circles, they avoided each other.’

This joint appearance makes me like Sam and Kate even more, and it makes me question so many of the reports about Sam cheating on Kate. Now, he could have really cheated on her - but if he did, he and Kate are working through it with grace. They look cute with their kids too.

It’s kind of nice that I have such a great video (with) such a great artist in the can. They’re going to be able to see the Un-Thinkable video first and then see Put It ina Love Song, but it probably won’t come until closer to this summer.”Keys has ruled out inviting Drake to make a cameo in the clip when she shoots it later this month but hopes to collaborate with him again in the future: “He won’t be in the video. That’s too obvious. (But) he’s a great guy. I’m really proud of all the things he’s been able to achieve, and we’re most likely going to do some kind of remix for the song that’ll be really good. For the past two days, Madonna has been in Malawi. She went there to allow her two adopted children to spend some time with their biological families. She was also there to do some sort of work with the UN Millennium Village that Madge is helping to fund in Malawi, and she also laid the first brick (or stone, whatever) to her multi-million dollar girls? school in Malawi, the one that?s displacing hundreds of villagers. Unfortunately, we don?t have access to the new photos of Madge in Malawi, so these photos are from her last trip, last October. Anyway, in addition to this flurry of activity, Madge also wrote an open letter on HuffPo, all about her $15 million girls? school, and how we need to help her pay for it:

As an artist, I know the transformative power of art. Malawi’s culture will be preserved and passed on through the teaching of music, art, and dance in our academy. Once instilled with pride in their homeland, young women will understand the importance of remaining in Malawi and investing in their own communities.
I will share not only my own words of encouragement tomorrow at our ceremony, but also encouragement from women and men around the world who believe that the future of Malawi rests squarely on the shoulders of its girls.
As one Raising Malawi supporter wrote to Malawi’s girls, “You carry the future of your country in your school bags.”
Having seen the determination in the eyes of these children, I know they have the strength to save Malawi — they just need to be given the tools. I am so grateful for the many people who have partnered with me to provide the resources needed, including Jeffrey Sachs, with whom I am launching a new global initiative to provide access to education for all children on all continents.
It is with hope for a bright future that I am here. Tomorrow the brick I will lay is not just the bedrock to a school — it is the foundation for our shared future.

I do think Madonna is probably doing more good than harm in Malawi, even though at times her efforts seem half-assed and corrupt. What never fails to give me a chuckle about Madonna?s efforts is how, like in music and love and art, Madonna is always derivative of someone else. She got on the African adoption bandwagon, copying Angelina Jolie. But instead of going through legal international adoption channels, Madonna basically paid people off so that she could have a baby. And then when she got criticized for it, she played the victim. And now she?s being derivative of Oprah, trying to build a girls? school in Malawi, and writing about how the girls are the future (I seem to remember Oprah using many of the same phrases). But the thing about Oprah?s school in South Africa - Oprah actually funded it herself. Oprah didn?t expect all of us to pony up money to fulfill her multi-million dollar vision of a school. Oh, well.

Earlier in the evening, Selena took the stage at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire Arena along with her band The Scene for her first live concert in London.

What do you think of Catherine?s tiger print? I was confused at first, and CB and I were trying to figure out if this is really a tiger print, and we think it is. It could have been totally cheap, but it kind of works on Catherine. She classes it up, and plus, the dress is an appropriate length and she accessorized beautifully. She ended up making tiger-print look elegant. Who knew?
Now, is this the figure of a woman who spends half her life dieting? I don?t know. She looks like she has a lovely figure, but she looks like a woman who eats bread and drinks wine, you know? Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and ABC for $20 million. Sheridan alleges that Cherry hit her on the face during an argument on set in September 2008. According to Sheridan’s lawsuit, her character’s death last season was in retaliation for complaining about the incident.
Former “Desperate Housewives” co-star Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit so over-the-top it seems perfect for Wisteria Lane.
The actress has sued ABC Entertainment Group, ABC Studios, Touchstone Television and series creator Marc Cherry for $20 million, claiming that she was physically assaulted by Cherry and fired when she complained about it.
The complaint was filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court by attorneys Mark Baute and Patrick Maloney.
Sheridan alleges Cherry struck her in the head in September 2008 on the set of the hit ABC series. “After she complained to her employer about Cherry’s improper behavior, Cherry arranged to have Sheridan terminated from the show, resulting in her losing millions in future earnings,” the complaint says.
ABC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. UPDATE: ABC Studios just gave us the following statement: ?While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.? Cherry could not be reached.
Sheridan says Cherry punched her in the head during production on the the series’ fifth season. He allegedly apologized but then arranged for her character, Edie Britt, to be killed off the show. Sheridan claims that she informed ABC about the whole mess, but producers did nothing.
The seven-count complaint alleges causes of action for wrongful termination; assault and battery; gender violence; discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and age; retaliatory termination; breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Some other allegations from the complaint:
Sheridan says the assault went down like this: “On September 24, 2008, during a rehearsal for the show, when Sheridan questioned Cherry about something that was in the script, Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.”
She says she was “physically and emotionally injured, humiliated and stunned by Cherry’s sudden physical violence and stated, ‘you just hit me in the head, that is not okay. THAT IS NOT OKAY!’ ”
Sheridan says Cherry’s abusive behavior was well-known on the set: “After an incident where Sheridan’s co-star on the show Teri Hatcher went above Cherry’s head to speak to ABC executives, Cherry told Sheridan, ‘I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.’ ”
Sheridan, whose character was killed off near the end of Season 5, also says her compensation for the show was $175,000 an episode for her fifth year, $200,000 for her sixth season and $250,000 for her seventh. She claims she stood to earn millions if she hadn’t been fired.

If this is as cut and dried as Sheridan claims then of course she’s entitled to compensation. I’m not sure $20 million is at all warranted, but if she’s telling the truth and she was fired for complaining about physical abuse from a supervisor then she has a right to sue. That’s a big if though, and given the things we’ve heard about Sheridan I wouldn’t put it past her to either exaggerate, misrepresent, or make up something like this in order to get a big cash settlement. I’m thinking we haven’t heard about this until now because Sheridan was hoping that ABC would settle her claim with seven figures or more. Maybe when they refused to give in she decided to make this public.
Last year, Sheridan made some bitchy comments about Cherry. She said that he had personal issues that led him to kill off her character. “I think whoever Edie represented in Marc?s life was somebody he didn?t like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.” Cherry claimed that he axed Sheridan’s character in order to cut costs, but he also gave her a backhanded compliment, and said she “performed the aging, neighborhood tramp better than anyone has ever done before.” Given the expense involved with defending the network against Sheridan’s lawsuit, it may have been cheaper to keep her on.

They?re always up for a swanky evening out, and last night (April 5) Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas were spotted at the 2010 Eugene O?Neill Theatre Center Monte Cristo Awards.
The star-studded event was held at Bridgewaters in New York City?s South Street Seaport and honored the achievements of Hal Prince.
And both Catherine and Michael were dressed to the nines as they arrived, posing for the paparazzi before heading inside to get in on the action.
In a recent interview, Ms. Zeta-Jones told press she?s happy with her shape, even though she?s not stick thin. "I find this wave of super-skinny women scary. I'm not going to lie to you. I've got to drag myself down to the gym like everybody else. But I look at the red carpet sometimes and it's like a pageant. I'm quite a broad girl, not at all delicate.?
"I watch what I eat to stay in shape, but I'm against diets. I eat when I'm hungry, three meal a day. I love chocolate, ice cream and cakes."

Vampy vixen Edit Britt has been dead for nearly a year, but Nicollette Sheridan is determined to avenge her demise. The actress filed suit Monday against ?Desperate Housewives? creator Marc Cherry for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. Sheridan claims Cherry attacked her for questioning his script, then launched a vendetta against her for reporting him to ABC. When the network refused to take action, Cherry killed off Edie Britt.
OK, why did Sheridan take a whole year to file this? And don?t the producers of TV series have the right to hire and fire characters? Sure, Edie was sweet eye candy, but this series kills off characters all the time.
