Lindsay Lohan was arrested in NYC this morning for hitting a pedestrian in downtown Manhattan and fleeing the scene.
Cops say Lindsay was parking her Porsche Cayenne near the Dream Hotel when she ran into the knee of a 30-something guy around midnight. One of the passengers got out to check the vehicle for damage and then they went into the hotel. Naturally, we wouldn’t want some peon’s knee damaging the Porsche.
Police were called while she was inside and 2 hours later when she walked out, she was immediately arrested. She was heard screaming, “Call my dad! Call my dad!”Lindsay was booked for leaving the scene of an accident and then released with a desk appearance ticket.
The victim was checked out at the hospital but didn’t have any visible injuries. He claims Lindsay was “slurring” her words and reeked of booze. Granted, that’s not really an indictment of Lindsay considering she always reeks of booze. That’s all her sweat glands produce now.
However, surveillance video of the incident shows the guy is exaggerating. The video shows Lindsay’s car going at a very slow pace going down a ramp while the guy was walking in the pedestrian path. The car did get close to the guy but it’s unclear if it ever made contact. After reviewing the tape this morning, one detective believed Lindsay grazed the back of the victim’s leg while another thought the car never made contact.
Not that it’ll matter because the video shows that after Lindsay goes down the ramp, the victim starts sprinting after her. Only when he caught up to Lindsay did he realize it was her since there was a crowd forming at the entrance of the club. When asked about this, the victim will probably look side to side, grab his knee and go “Ow, ow, ow, ow!”
The only odd thing is Lindsay left the club minutes after arriving, got in her car and left for a little bit and then came back. Probably to refill on cigs and condoms.
For her part, Lindsay is calling the story “really fishy” because the guy had no visible injuries. She believes she was set up. Which may be true but can’t we put her in jail anyway just to be safe? And when I say jail, I mean dungeon. The kind with lepers and surrounded by a moat with hungry crocodiles and that you have to fight your way out of to gain your freedom. I think that’d be pretty cool.

It feels like it?s been a little while since we had a series of Lindsay Lohan stories in one day, all involving some cracked-out crime. When was the last time? Her crack-heist at a slumber party, right? Right. That was last month. But it?s been a while since Lindsay has gotten into any kind of car accident (months!), so we were due. Anyway, as we already discussed, Lindsay plowed into some poor pedestrian early this morning in NYC. She was arrested for leaving the scene of the crime and her victim was sent to Bellevue for treatment. These are just some updates to the story, because crack dramz tends to get spread out over the hours:
*Lindsay was with her manager and ?a male pal.? Who is her manager again?
*A NYPD source tells Us Weekly, “While driving down the alley, she was trying to get people to step aside by flashing her lights. Everyone moved except one person.? Basically: MOVE THOSE PEDESTRIANS, I?M Lindsay Lohan. This was at approx. 1 a.m.
*She really was going into a club ? The Dream Hotel?s nightclub. She was in the club for approx. an hour and a half, and she was arrested when she exited.
*TMZ updated their story with this (try not to LOL too hard):
Lindsay is telling friends she had no idea she hit anybody and it wasn’t until she came out and got arrested that she knew anything was going on. As for the story about one of the passengers in her SUV getting out of the car and checking for damages, she says it never happened. Nobody ever got out of the car.
Lohan is calling the incident “really fishy” because the man didn’t appear to have any visible injuries and feels she’s the victim of a set up. She’s not going to let the incident go and is planning on fighting it to the end.

*TMZ also has a Cracken-sympathetic story about the surveillance video outside of The Dream Hotel. They claim that the video reveals that the Cracken?s victim is ?grossly exaggerating his claim at the very least.? You can read the story here ? basically, you can?t tell from the video if Lindsay?s car made contact with the dude, and the NYPD detectives investigating have different theories.
*On the video, you can also see the alleged victim sprinting after Lindsay?s car after she allegedly hit him.
*TMZ says the tape shows that ?Lindsay decided to leave the club minutes after arriving, got back in her car and left for a short time … then came back.? Crackie.
So, basically Lindsay is just going to claim that she never hit the guy, or that she grazed him so insignificantly that he?s not even really injured, and that he?s just making this all up because she?s so epically famous and rich and everyone picks on her because she?s The Biggest Celebrity In The World and everybody else is a crack liar.

Taking a break from her ?Kourtney and Kim Take Miami? duties, Kim Kardashian showed up in Sydney, Australia for the E! Brand Evolution event today (September 19).
The ?Disaster Movie? babe arrived at Paddington for the swanky affair, sporting an embossed silver sleeveless dress as she showed some love to the Aussie paparazzi.
During a recent interview, Kim confessed that in helping her sister Khloe with some fertility issues, she grew interested in the whole process herself.
Kardashian explained, ?I was thinking about freezing my eggs - really, I wanted information.
I was really going for [sister] Khloe at first - so that?s why I went there and once I started seeing the information and all the charts about how your eggs are the best they?ll ever be right now - it got me thinking.?
?I started the process and then I stopped the process soon after - just before the injections - I stopped because I wanted to help Khloe through that, I thought, let?s focus on Khloe first and I still wasn?t sure that?s what I really wanted to do. So I stopped the process,? she added.
?The amount of information I learned just going there was fascinating - it is so amazing the technology we have and all the tests that can be done to see what your issues are and Khloe?s issues, just the fact they are fixing it now is amazing. It?s so important to know.?

My point was just that Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy might not last now that they?re separated by distance, by work, by school, and by the seasons. But do not fret! Fair Swifty and her handsome heir are still making it work. In between whirlwind promotional duties and appearances on behalf of her new album, Swifty managed to stop by Conor Kennedy?s prep school, and they enjoyed a quiet weekend together. Because apparently that?s allowed at fancy prep schools?
As summer winds down, Taylor Swift’s work schedule is revving up. And while her new love Conor Kennedy has already gone back to school, the couple, whose romance heated up over the summer, did not stay apart for long.
On Saturday, Swift, 22, and Kennedy, 18, headed for the intimately lit Taylor’s Tavern & Restaurant in Greenfield, Mass., a quaint New England town only a few miles from Kennedy’s prep school in Deerfield.
“They were very happy and very polite,” says a source. “She was very sweet.”
The young duo, who have spent a lot of time together in the past few months, enjoyed a warm, sunny weekend in a scenic part of Massachusetts dotted with farm stands and country stores. Kennedy and Swift also indulged in a classic country pastime, antiquing.
Paying a visit to Deerfield’s Old Station Antiques on Saturday, they browsed together in the store not far from Kennedy’s dorm, according to a source.
On Sunday, Swift once again had to say goodbye. She left late in the afternoon ? as Kennedy presumably prepared for Monday morning classes.

If you haven?t guessed by now, I have no idea how the rich live. Everything I know about the children of the Rich and Famous, I learned from watching My Super Sweet Sixteen and the Mitt Romney campaign. So it seems a little bit bizarre to me that a student attending a fancy prep school is simply allowed to leave school for a weekend (?) to hang out with his pop star girlfriend. I mean, I guess they don?t have classes during the weekend, and I guess students are allowed to go home on weekends too. But are they allowed to just sign out and go to a bed & breakfast with their girlfriend? It feels like there should be more oversight, right? Can I get some more red tape and regulations at the fancy prep schools? This isn’t college! You can’t just do whatever you feel like.

Last week was full of Jessica Simpson’s Weight Watchers nonsense. I still don?t really know what to make of Jessica and Weight Watchers and (IMO) their fraud. But I think Jessica is made of teflon. Or maybe she?s just covered in bacon grease, because nothing ever really sticks to her. I think it?s the ?soft bigotry of low expectations? ? people think she’s dumb, so when she?s involved in something idiotic, people are just like, ?Uh, Jessica. Stop farting around, dumbass.? So Jessica has been pretty quiet for about a week, and now she?s back with a new interview, full of all kinds of Farty details.
She’s already a singer, actress, fashion mogul and reality show mentor. Now Jessica Simpson has her sights set on primetime.
“I think doing a sitcom is something I really want to do,” Simpson, 32, tells iVillage in a new interview about her career goals. “[I would] be able to be with my daughter every day on set.”
The pop star, who welcomed baby Maxwell May 1 (with fianc Eric Johnson), says she can’t wait to encourage her little girl to follow whatever it is that speaks to her.
“I’m going to let Maxwell do what she wants to do,” Simpson says. “I mean, I’m definitely going to parent her the way my parents parented me . . . [but] when I was young, I was like, ‘This is what I want to do,’ and they supported me, and I was doing it by the time I was fourteen years old.”
Adds the Jessica Simpson Collection founder, “I think it’s important to encourage from a young age that whatever you’re passionate about — go for it!”
Simpson says that she and Johnson have been so focused on their bundle of joy and her future, that they have yet to sit down and focus on plans for their wedding. Still, the Fashion Star judge has a clear vision of the type of celebration she’s aiming for.
“I know it’s going to be a perfect wedding, and . . . I mean, I say that, and it could not be . . . we really haven’t planned it,” she confesses. “But I see it being definitely a destination thing and everyone celebrating and being able to dress up and having all of my bridesmaids looking beautiful in whatever designer they want to wear.”

First, the idea of Jessica on a sitcom?? Are we counting her reality show with Nick Lachey as her first ?sitcom?? I guess. I think Jessica is capable of that kind of thing ? ?playing? the ditzy, farty blonde on camera. You don?t even have to give her a script. But that?s the problem, isn?t it? Jessica is not good when she has to use a script.
As for Jessica?s admission that she?ll raise Maxwell like she was raised? don?t hate me, but I understand what she?s saying. Jessica isn?t going to raise her daughter the way, say, Gwyneth Paltrow raises her daughter. Jessica isn?t going to try to raise a multi-lingual child. She?s not going to raise a child with an emphasis on ?book smarts.? We already knew that, didn?t we? Maxwell is going to be raised around grits, guns and God. And you know what? That?s fine. Not everyone has to raise their kids from the Gwyneth-Jen Garner-Gisele Playbook.

Katie Holmes covers the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar Russia, and Us Weekly is hilariously calling this Katie Holmes v. 3.0. Honestly? The photoshoot inside the magazine is very pretty, but the cover is awful. Katie looks very photoshopped here and her cheeks look very hollow. Plus, her nose looks kind of different than usual, and that hair looks like it was painted into the picture. Why did they do this to her and make it the cover shot? She looks much better in the below picture, right? Cute Joey Potter is almost back!
Otherwise, the clothes are cute, and Katie looks like she’s getting back to her old self again. Katie’s been laying low since her NYFW debut of the slightly improved Holmes & Yang line, but there’s been a bit of amusing news about her concerning an advance screening invite to The Master. The Weinstein Co. tried to summon her for their own publicity purposes, and Katie politely declined. Can you blame her?
Glowing reviews and powerhouse performances from Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams have made Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master a hot ticket among actors and industry operatives — with the exception of Tom Cruise’s ex-wife Katie Holmes.
Celebrity spotters tell us that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Steve Martin, Sam Rockwell, and filmmakers Spike Jonze and Quentin Tarantino are among the famous faces who’ve caught the movie during its limited release in New York and Los Angeles. Susan Sarandon was also in the crowd at the film’s 70-millimeter screening at the Ziegfeld Theater on Sept. 11.On Sept. 16, “One Tree Hill” actress Sophia Bush tweeted: “If you don’t go see The Master, there is officially no chance we’ll ever [be] friends. What. A. Movie! Brilliant performances.”
That same day, Hello I Must Be Going cast member Melanie Lynskey tweeted “Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in The Master makes me want to quit acting, keep acting, destroy things, kiss his face, cry for a day.”
One interesting footnote to the high celebrity demand to see The Master: A source close to the Sept. 11 Ziegfeld screening says Katie Holmes was invited to screening but sent her regrets. Her spokeswoman Leslie Sloane did not respond to Movieline’s request for comment on speculation that Holmes did not attend because her appearance would have created a media feeding frenzy that could have riled her ex-husband, Scientologist actor Tom Cruise.

I think Katie played it safe by not attending The Master because you know the media would have been all over that. Beyond the fact that Tom might have thrown a hissy fit about her attendance, I think it’s just a case of “too soon” where Katie’s enjoyment of the movie would be concerned. I mean, she just checked out of a six-year nightmare during which she was securely under the thumb of the unhinged, lift-wearing midget himself. Then there was the whole matter of seeing her face on a Vanity Fair cover that contained a detailed account of Tom’s wife audition process. Maybe a few years down the road, Katie will be able to Netflix The Master, but right now? Give the girl a break.
Now let’s get back to this photoshoot. Katie looks adventurous and happy in some of these photos. I also love those smoky eyes and wish I could wear that kind of makeup without feeling overdone.

Another day, another quote-dump from Goop. To be fair to her, it?s not like this is a completely new interview. We covered the first excerpts from Gwyneth Paltrow?s InStyle cover interview yesterday ? go here to see. Goop discussed how she only allowed her kids to watch TV when it was in Spanish or French, and Goop talked about how her marriage was ?challenging? because Chris needs an environment with ?gravitas? or some such BS. So these are just more quotes from the InStyle piece, and there are some Goopy gems in here too:
Gwyneth turns 40 years old next week: ?I?m taking stock and really looking at everything. I?m trying to accept myself. Does anyone else notice that, as always, it?s all about Gwyneth? I mean that even when she?s discussing her children, she?s only talking about herself. When she discusses her Goop readers, it?s all about Gwyneth. I mean, obviously, this is an interview WITH Goop so it?s understandable. But it just feels like everything is about HER experiences, her journey, her rules, her diet, her birthday and no one else?s.
In another interview ? done on a TV show, I think ? Goop was recently asked if she would ever consider plastic surgery. Goop said, “I want to move my face because I’m supposed to convey emotion in my job. But I have wrinkles so I don’t know – I’m not going to say that I’ll never do anything, but I would always want to look like myself.” Considering CB and I felt like Gwyneth was hittin? the Botox back in 2010-11, I think she?s being disingenuous. But I believe that she isn?t getting any nips or tucks. I think she just tried Botox for a little while, maybe some fillers too. Oh, and I think she might have gotten a boob job too. So, yeah. Other than that stuff, all natural, right?

Ugh. UGH. Just when I start feeling a pang of sympathy towards poor, pathetic Kristen Stewart, she ruins it with that mouth of hers. Kristen appears on the new issue of Glamour Germany ? I?m not enough of a Twihard to know if this is a completely new photo shoot and interview, so all I can tell you is that other sites are running the shoot and interview as if it?s completely new, so I?ll just take their word for it. Obviously, this interview was probably done before The Great Mini-Coopering, and as such, Kristen still has the same twitchy, conceited, self-absorbed attitude that she?s always had. There?s something really, really rich in here, so read the excerpts first:
On the end of Twilight: ?I?m relieved. Not that it?s finally over but that we told a story from beginning to end. A story I and all my colleagues invested a lot of energy in. I lived in the Twilight world for about four years. That?s a very long time that demands a lot of patience on your part.?
On how she survived the grueling schedule: ?Thank God, I had the opportunity to do smaller movies like The Runaways, Welcome to the Rileys, and On the Road in between [shooting the Twilight films]. Otherwise I?d probably have turned mad.?
On the industry being littered with phonies: ?I would never work with people who aren?t really creative and aren?t committed to what they do. Unfortunately, there are a lot of those people out there, they are f**king everywhere, and they try to suck the soul out of you. For example, I would never do a makeup campaign, even though the [final] photos with me would probably look good. Thank you, but it doesn?t interest me.?
On her life right now: ?I notice that, at the moment, I am in an immensely intense phase of my life. It feels like I could burst from all my energy any minute now. And I don?t want this fire burning inside of me to go out.?

Prepare to clutch your pearls. The Cracken was arrested early this morning! She was just sitting in her pristine apartment, reading her Bible and sipping a glass of water when BAM! She was arrested. No, of course not. She was out clubbing like a crackie with some of her friends/dealers/sycophants in New York City and The Cracken hit some poor guy with her Porsche when she was parking, and then she and her peeps just walked away from her victim and went into her hotel. She was arrested a short time later.
Lindsay Lohan was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident early this morning after allegedly clipping a pedestrian in downtown Manhattan … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Lindsay was pulling in to park her Porsche Cayenne near the Dream Hotel in downtown NYC when — at a very low speed — she allegedly hit the knee of a 30-something year old guy. That was around shortly after midnight.
We’re told one of Lindsay’s passengers in the SUV got out and checked the vehicle for damage, and then LiLo and co. went inside the hotel.
We’re told someone called police while Lindsay was inside … and when she walked out of the hotel — around 2:30AM ET — officers arrested her.
According to our sources … Lindsay was booked for leaving the scene of an accident — a misdemeanor — and then released with a desk appearance ticket … meaning she did not have to pay bail before release.
We’re told alcohol was not involved.
We’re told the alleged victim was hospitalized … however, he was not knocked down or dragged, and didn’t have any visible injuries.
This arrest could absolutely trigger a probation violation in Lindsay’s jewelry theft case because one of the conditions of probation is she OBEY ALL LAWS.
Even without a conviction, Judge Stephanie Sautner — the judge in the jewelry theft case — could haul Lindsay’s butt into court if there’s probable cause to believe she committed a crime.

Yeah, I doubt anything will happen. Even though this went down in NYC, and that gives me a small twinge of crack-hope that she’ll have to face the consequences for something, anything, I doubt it. The California legal system will be like, “Huh? What happened? It probably wasn’t important. I sentence you to a friendly pat on the firecrotch!” And the NYPD will probably be the same, God knows.
