Too many people avoided Widows for some reason. Even given Liam Neeson?s racist bullst this week, I would still recommend the film. In fact, now that we?re all in a place of thinking that Liam is awful, Widows is a great movie to watch because of what happens with his character (no spoilers, just watch it). Liam doesn?t have a huge role in Widows, but it?s a substantive part, and he plays Viola Davis?s character?s husband. They reportedly got along very well on and off the set, and Viola talked a lot about how important it was for to play an interracial love story with a big-time white leading man like Liam. I guess Liam never told her the story about the time he went hunting around, looking to kill any ?black bastard? he met.
Liam?s Widows costar Michelle Rodiguez had some thoughts about Liam?s whole racist AF story. Michelle thinks? well, I?ll let her tell it.
Michelle Rodriguez is certain that her Widows co-star Liam Neeson is not a racist. The actress is one of the few industry insiders to publicity support Neeson since the actor gave a lightning-rod of an interview in which he admitted that decades ago, he wanted to kill a black man in order to get revenge for a friend who had been raped.
?It?s all fkin? bullsh-t. Liam Neeson is not a racist,? said Rodriguez at the amfAR Gala New York on Wednesday night. ?Dude, have you watched Widows? His tongue was so far down Viola Davis?s throat. You can?t call him a racist ever. Racists don?t make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongue?so deep down her throat. I don?t care how good of an actor you are. It?s all bullsh-t. Ignore it. He?s not a racist. He?s a loving man. It?s all lies.?

First of all, NO. Second of all, CAN WE NOT. Third of all, what is Michelle even doing here? Honey, please just stop for a second! She?s acting like there are merely ?rumors? or ?gossip? that Liam might have done something. No. He sat there, TWICE, and told the same fking story about wanting to hunt down and kill any black man he saw and he didn?t even understand why the story was racist. It came out of his mouth, on the record, twice. And if the argument is ?anyone who makes out with Viola Davis can?t be racist,? I?m going to say no to that too. Racist men often have sexual relationships with women of color. It?s a thing.

Here are some photos of Michelle Rodriguez at the Furious 7 premiere (Kaiser covered solo Elsa Pataky and everyone else). Michelle’s wearing a Vivienne Westwood dress, which is gorgeous under certain lighting. The silhouette flatters Michelle, but the jacquard overlay is the wrong color. It looks dusty, for lack of a better descriptor. I would have preferred a darker overlay, but I’m chuffed to see Michelle favoring Westwood designs lately.
Michelle has a new interview with NJ.com. The most interesting part is how she picks her roles. You’ll never see her play the girlfriend who fades into the background. Michelle also has a problem with scripts that feature an empowered women getting killed or raped. Yes, why does Hollywood do that? Michelle has the answer:
The appeal of this franchise: “We’re antiheroes being heroes, you know? It’s kind of Robin Hood-esque … But also I think it has a lot to do with the multicultural cast. People in this country – or in Spain, in Africa, in Asia – they can buy a ticket and see somebody who looks like them, and someone who isn’t necessarily a stereotype but an individual, a character who’s kind of blue-collar but also in this heroic position. It’s still pretty rare to have characters like that you can identify with. And after all this time, it’s crossing generations. I have six-year-kids running up to me and talking about Letty, which is really cool.”
On early career advice people gave her: “Well, I don’t know how well-intentioned it was! But you know, here’s the thing – I have such a strong sense of self, there are certain lines I just won’t cross. I’m really picky about the parts I choose. I can’t be the slut. I cannot be just the girlfriend. I can’t be the girl who gets empowered because she’s been raped. I can’t be the girl who gets empowered and then dies. So I just said to myself, look, you’re going to just have to create your own archetype, doesn’t matter if you go broke doing it. And I almost did go broke, twice! But people finally got it: OK, Michelle is not malleable, you’re not going to influence her by shining fame and money at her, and they stopped offering me that sort of stuff. But you know, it’s a Catch-22. It’s helped me and it’s screwed me. I’ve stuck to my guns and I’m proud.”
The movie clich of the empowered women who dies: “I remember this script that came over my desk and it’s – I’m not even going to name it, it’ll just get me in more trouble – but I was reading it and at first I wanted to say no, because she’s Latina and she’s a drug dealer, and that’s like the only time you see Latin-Americans in Hollywood pictures. But I kept reading and I thought, well, some of it is based on truth, and she’s kind of an interesting person. And then I turn the page and they’ve stuck in this rape scene. Which didn’t even happen in real life, they just stuck it in there, this made-up thing and I thought, why? Why it is necessary to take her down like that? I mean, like Million Dollar Baby – why’s she got to die at the end, man? I mean, I get the tear-jerking, but would you do that to a male character? … I mean like 80% of the writers out there are men, and of course you’re going to write what you know. But it’s our fault as women for not penetrating that market, you know? I can’t complain about the scripts that are out there until I start writing some myself.”

Michelle also talks about how everything came together for her after first Resident Evil movie. That’s the first time I noticed her and knew she possessed a fierceness seldom seen in Hollywood movies. She speaks the truth on how most script writers are men, and their narratives reflect their bias. Not every guy writes that way (obviously), but that’s the general trend.
MRod’s been making the press rounds. She talked to Entertainment Weekly about her sense of loss over Paul Walker’s death. They were friends and co-workers for 14 years, and she was so used to his regular presence that “I went pretty crazy. A lot of the stuff I did last year I would never do had I been in my right mind.” I believe she’s referring to the bizarre Zac Efron fling and the Cara Delevingne mess. There’s also a gross story about how obsessed she is with caviar. Us Weekly says Michelle regularly drops $700 in a single sitting because she loves the stuff so much. What a waste of money.

I’ve always enjoyed Michelle Rodriguez on camera. She kicks some serious butt in most of her movie roles. In real life, Michelle’s a hot, party-girl mess, and I still don’t understand the Zac Efron thing. Sometimes some weird stuff comes out of her mouth, which is what happened here. Some rumors started circulating about Michelle starring in a Green Lantern role, although god knows why they’d want to make a sequel.
TMZ caught up with Michelle on Friday night and asked about the casting rumor. In TMZ’s video, Michelle laughs and says, “That?s the dumbest thing I?ve ever heard … Like, stop stealing, you know, all the white people?s superheroes. Like, make up your own. Know what I?m saying, like what?s up with that?” TMZ implies that Michelle was referring to Samuel L. Jackson playing Nick Fury. Yeah, she probably was shading Sam, which bugs. He plays the Ultimate Nick Fury, a character who was designed with Sam Jackson in mind! His race shouldn’t matter anyway. Just like it doesn’t matter that Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman.
Michelle felt the backlash and recorded a video she posted to her Facebook page (with her cat in the background). I don’t think she improved upon the situation:
I want to clarify about my comment yesterday. I stuck my foot in my mouth once again, and I said that people should stop trying to steal white people superheroes. I guess it got taken out of context because a lot of people got offended … but I have a tendency to speak without a filter, so sorry about that. What I really meant was, ultimately at the end of the day there’s a language. And the language that you speak in Hollywood is successful franchise. And I think that there are many cultures in Hollywood that are not white that can come up with their own mythology … I’m just saying that instead of trying to turn a girl character into a guy or instead of trying to turn a white character into a black character or Latin character, I think that people should stop being lazy, and that people should actually make an effort in Hollywood to develop their own mythology.

Michelle’s lack of comic book knowledge doesn’t help matters. There are thousands of Green Lanterns in the comic books, not just the Hal Jordan character played by Ryan Reynolds. Some of them are men, some are women, and plenty of them are not white.
Putting that point aside, Michelle believes that placing minorities into roles that were written as “white” is intellectually lazy. Yes, it would be amazing if Hollywood would adapt tales of mythological figures from non-Eurocentric cultures. As the Daily Beast suggests, “There are tons of mythological figures in the African diaspora and across indigenous American cultures and Asian cultures that could be explored via major Hollywood productions.” Agreed. But I don’t see how it’s a bad thing when the best actor for a job captures a role, and those decisions shouldn’t be dependent upon race.

Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez have occupied the “shock value” category for summer romances this year. I’ve been doing quadruple takes for the past week as they strolled together in Italy and kissed on a yacht. If I were to guess who was more into this romance, Zac would be the winner. Michelle seems like she’s just having fun and enjoying some young(er) tail. But I’m more of a Michelle fan than a Zac fan. She’s so fierce and fun in movies. They’re both messes in real life.
Some fantastic new pictures of Zac and Michelle have surfaced. You can see them here. Zac and Michelle are grinding together in a club, and they went horseback riding. Zac went shirtless “as he and his majestic steed trotted along the sandy shore of a lake, and then into the shallow surf.” People has hilariously compared Zac’s stunt to Vladimir Putin & Justin Bieber (shoutout to the “pure bread stallion“). Zac looks ridiculous and kinda hot too. I am conflicted.
Us Weekly says Zac and Michelle have been hooking up a lot longer than we’ve known. For years: “Whenever they?re together and both single, they hook up.” They first got together in 2011, a few months after he broke up with Vanessa Hudgens. Us says Zac and Michelle have never been serious, and now “they’re just having fun on vacation.” They lean on each other during hard times, and they’re bonding over Michelle’s recent breakup (with Cara Coke Dropper) and Zac’s substance abuse troubles. Huh.

Well, this is surprising. Here’s a photo of Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez at an Italian airport. They weren’t coming home, just travelling from one yacht to another. We talked last week about how Zac and Michelle are on vacation together. I hadn’t even realized they knew each other, and then I assumed they were either drinking buddies or mutual pals of their Italian entrepreneur friend, Gianluca Vacchi. Zac and Michelle were having a blast on Vacchi’s yacht & it seemed like a party atmosphere. Nothing more, nothing less.
Zac and Michelle are definitely more than just friends. The Mail has exclusive photos of them kissing on another yacht. They’re very handsy and clearly into each other. At least Zac seems really into Michelle. She may be more into her daredevil stunts like climbing the yacht’s mast.
Do you think this could be a summer romance? Zac usually goes for “good” girls, and Michelle is anything but a classic good girl. I’m not even talking about her bisexuality, which has nothing to do with this story. Zac is a pretty big mess behind his dimples and pretty ab muscles. Michelle has her own issues. She must party hard if she dated Cara Delevigne. She also spent six months in jail in 2008 for violating her probation on a DUI case. Maybe Zac and Michelle are perfect together, but I don’t see this lasting. Physically, they’re probably like dynamite. It makes you curious, right?

In an Instagram video posted Tuesday (July 1), the "High School Musical" hottie does a choreographed dance to the Lil Jon and DJ Snake tune with his buddies Gianluca Vacchi and Youseff Giga.
His pal Michelle Rodriguez even makes a brief cameo.
Gianluca posted the clip and wrote, "Enjoy the Autoironic dance Michelle , Z , Youssef , me... @mrodofficial @zacefron @youssefgiga."

Taking some time away from her busy career, Michelle Rodriguez scored a luxury yacht and went sailing on the coast of Sardinia, Italy today (June 27).
Joined by some friends, the ?Fast and Furious? female donned a skimpy black bikini and began performing various daring jumps into the ocean while shutterbugs looked on.
In a recent interview, Michelle discussed her sexuality in light of her on/off relationship with English model Cara Delevingne.
She explained, ?I've never walked the carpet with anyone, so they wonder, ?What does she do with her vagina?? Plus, I play a butchy girl all the time, so they assume I'm a lesbo. They're not too far off. I've gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too f*cking curios to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.?

So, The Daily Mail has a lengthy exclusive tell-all about where Michelle and Cara are in their relationship after just a few months. Michelle is thinking about babies. Because? well, some things never change in gossip-world. Women always want babies, obviously.
They have made no secret of their growing love after spending the past few months jet setting around the world together. And one of Michelle Rodriguez’s closest confidants has revealed she is so in love with British supermodel Cara Delevingne that she believes she is ‘the one’ – and wants to start a family with her.
In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the friend of the Fast and Furious star – who has asked to remain unnamed – reveals how Michelle, 35, is so besotted by Cara, 21, that she has already told pals she would love a baby with her. But while the actress is planning her future with Cara – who is 14 years younger than her – we can reveal the Mulberry model?s family is terrified of the influence the wayward star is having on the top model who has become the toast of the fashion industry.
The source, who Michelle regularly confides in, said: ‘Michelle comes from a broken home and it has a lot to do with why she has found herself in trouble again and again throughout her life. Constantly, she pushes boundaries and has been in trouble with the law, but really all of it is because she is desperate to be loved. Her mom and dad separated when she was a child and ever since Michelle has been yearning for some stability in her life. Sadly after years of dating older women and men like Olivier Martinez, nothing seemed to work out for her. But now Cara has come along, who is so much younger than the women she normally dates, but suddenly Michelle is happy again.’
In recent years, former Lost star Michelle, who openly admits she is bisexual, has endured a string of broken relationships after dating French heartthrob and S.W.A.T co-star Olivier Martinez, Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel as well as model Claudette Lali, director Francesca De Sola and model Aleksandra Rastovic. The source claims Michelle had a ‘great thing’ going with Terminator 3 actress Kristanna Loken – who strongly hinted to Advocate magazine that she was in a relationship with her in 2006, yet Michelle has never confirmed their relationship.
‘Kristanna wanted to come out as a couple. She’s proud to be bisexual, but Michelle wasn’t ready to go public,’ said the friend: ‘So instead of working it out, Michelle ended it. Then she was left heartbroken a year later when she fell for another model/actress only to find out she had slept with someone else while she was away filming the movie Avatar.’
Michelle’s close friend admitted: ‘She’s a very free spirit and before this relationship she has always been terrified of commitment. And because of her troubled past, many of them have essentially had to be her babysitter or a mother figure to her. So now Cara might be younger than her, but she honestly thinks this is ‘the one’. Just before she met Cara she was talking about wanting a family within the next couple of years. She really wants a baby and wants one soon and now she has found Cara she thinks this could finally be the time to chase that dream. Sadly due to Michelle?s troubled past, Cara?s family are not so sure. They are not 100 per cent pro this relationship and are in some ways willing it to end.?
?The 14-year age gap between the girls concerns them as does Michelle’s wayward reputation. They know Cara has been swept off her feet by Michelle, who has dropped everything to be with her young love, but the family fear the relationship will end in nothing but disaster. I highly doubt at 21-years-old Cara is ready to start a family. She is no doubt currently smitten with Michelle, who dropped everything, including her girlfriend and friends, to be with her. But if anyone is going to get their heart broken in this relationship it’s going to be Michelle. She will smother Cara, and wants to be around her 24 hours a day.’
The source added: ‘You can see from the photos of them out together in London that they are clearly having fun. They don’t seem to have a care in the world and I know Michelle will pay for everything, go everywhere with her and has unlimited funds to do as they please. To begin with this will be nice and she will be flattered. But when she has to go away to shoot a film, it will end and Michelle does fall hard. And maybe it will all be a little too much for someone as young as Cara.’
