I wish I loved anything as much as David Beckham loves sucking up to royalty. David finally got his knighthood last year after years and years of royal bootlicking, but he?s still showing up for some in-person photo-ops with King Charles whenever Charles wants to get in the papers. On Sunday, King Charles attended the Chelsea Flower Show, and of course he stopped by Sir David?s ?garden? at the show.
The King joined Sir David Beckham to tour his own garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, which included a nod to their shared love of beekeeping. The King?s Foundation Curious Garden was designed to reflect the monarch?s passion for plants and the importance of nature.
It also has plenty of references to Brand Beckham, a King?s Foundation ambassador, including gnomes and roses named after them both. The garden features a beehive, inspired by the King and Sir David?s shared enthusiasm for beekeeping and producing natural honey, and seven raised beds in a nod to Sir David?s football shirt number.
The King leaned forward to sniff the rose named in honour of Sir David by his daughter, Harper, to celebrate his 50th birthday.
The King was joined for his annual visit to the show by the Queen, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Perched on a shelf in the garden were four small gnomes with name tags: Charles III, Sir David, Alan, for co-creator Alan Titchmarsh, the television gardener, and Frances after Frances Tophill, the garden?s designer. The ban on gnomes was lifted this year for only the second time in the show?s history, the previous time being 2013 to mark the flower show?s centenary.
[From The Telegraph]
? There was a ban on gnomes?? British people are so fussy. Anyway, David Beckham co-designing a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show is fine, maybe even cool. But David?s obsequiousness towards Charles will always be funny to me. And I?ll always wonder if Victoria gets the ick when she sees David like this.
Meanwhile, another piece of David Beckham news came out recently David is officially the UK?s first billionaire athlete, per the Sunday Times. He and Victoria are now worth 1.185 billion, and a good chunk of it is David?s stake in Inter Miami.

Meryl Streep and Martin Short filming for OMITB in May, 2025. The photo were discussing is below
Meryl Streep and Martin Short have been dating for roughly two years. They got together while Meryl was a recurring character on season three of Only Murders in the Building. You may remember when it was widely assumed that Selena Gomez was telling Taylor Swift about them at the 2024 Golden Globes. I love this particularly perfect pairing and am still a Meryl/Marty/Selena Golden Globes Truther.
The next, sixth season of Only Murders in the Building takes place in London. Steve Martin has posted tourist-themed pictures from London. Martin and Meryl are also there, both professionally and personally. In fact, a fan spotted them at a London restaurant and took a picture of them looking cozy and loved up. From Us Weekly:
Meryl Streep and Martin Short enjoyed a meal out together in London recently.
In a fan photo shared via X on Sunday, May 17, the Only Murders in the Building costars were seen seated side by side inside a restaurant. As Short and Streep, both 76, focused their attention on a phone screen, the actress rested her shoulder on the actor?s chest.
?Spending a few days in London, choosing a restaurant at random and ending up eating just a few meters from Meryl Streep and her husband,? the fan?s caption read, mistakenly taking Short to be Streep?s husband. (Streep is currently single following her 2023 split from husband Don Gummer, and Short has been a widower since the 2010 death of wife Nancy Dolman.)
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for Streep and Short for comment.
The sighting comes amid reports that the Netflix series is currently shooting its sixth season in London, marking the show?s first filming location outside of the U.S. In recent days, Short and Streep?s costar Steve Martin posted multiple Instagram photos of himself exploring local sites, including Trafalgar Square and a gift store selling beanies inscribed with ?London.?
[From Us Weekly]
That picture is so sweet. Martin and Meryl look very comfortable together. For what it?s worth, the person who took the picture of them out at dinner went on record as saying that they looked like they were having a ?great time.? They also shared that there was a lot of laughter and ?tender? gestures. Martin has been through so much in his life, yet he?s still able to continually rise about it all in a way that I don?t know that I could do. I?m glad that Meryl is there for him.
I had somehow missed that Only Murders in the Building is filming in London for this upcoming season! That is so exciting. As much as I enjoy The Arconia, we?ve had five seasons of murders in that building. I like that they?re switching it up. I?ve read that Tina Fey is returning as Cinda Canning, but not much else is known about it so far. Until recently, my sister lived in London for several years, so I was lucky enough to visit her and become familiar with the local landmarks and sites. I?m excited to see if I recognize anything on OMITB?s next season.

| | Javier Bardem: male toxic behavior is killing thousands of people | | Added 4 minutes ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Javier Bardem has a Spanish film at Cannes this year that is getting great reviews, but sounds like a really tough watch. The Beloved follows Javier?s character, a director, who reaches out to his estranged adult daughter, an actress, to be in his next film. And along the way there?s a lot of manipulation and toxic behavior. (The Guardian calls it Javier?s ?scariest performance since No Country For Old Men,? and them?s fightin? words.) So naturally Javier was asked about that theme of toxic behavior, specifically of the male variety, and the man did not mince his words, saying that ?f?king male toxic behavior? in our world leaders and intimate partners is killing thousands of people. I?d call that a pretty accurate and honest assessment.
Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem unleashed a profanity-laced critique at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, taking aim at world leaders including Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Bardem said toxic masculinity, a central theme in his new film ?The Beloved,? stems from ?the bad education that we have received for many ages,? adding that he, too, is a product of that culture.
?I?m 57 years old, coming from a very machista country called Spain,? he said.
The ?No Country for Old Men? star pointed to violence against women in his home country as a stark example of how toxic masculinity can become normalized.
?There is an average of two women killed monthly by their ex-husbands or ex-boyfriends, which is horrible,? Bardem said. ?Just that amount of women being murdered ? it?s unbelievable. And we?ve kind of normalized it. It?s like, ?Well, yeah, it?s horrible.? I mean, are we f?king nuts? We are killing women because some men think thye own them? They possess them??
Bardem, who is married to fellow Hollywood star Penelope Cruz, then argued that some world leaders have the same mindset.
?And that problem also goes to Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin and Mr. Netanyahu,? he said. ?The big balls man saying, ?My c-ck is bigger than yours, and I?m going to bomb the sh-t out of you.? That is f?king male toxic behavior that is creating thousands of dead people.?
[From HuffPost]
As someone who watches an inordinate amount of Dateline and 48 Hours and 20/20, I agree, wholeheartedly, that there is a fundamental f?k up in society where men are clinging to the centuries-old false belief that they own women, and this plays out on a micro scale in our individual lives and globally to the point where I?d say it?s more than obvious that men?s time in power should be ended and labeled the failed experiment that it is/was. But what do I know, I have boobs. Anyway, I love that there?s no pretense with Javier Bardem ? if he?s speaking out about something, it?s because he?s passionate about it. This authenticity is what makes his performances so grounded. It?s a cliche, but putting yourself in someone else?s shoes really does pave the way for empathy and understanding. I imagine acting and exploring different kinds of manhood is a personal form of conversation that Javier has with himself, before taking thoughts like this out into the wider world of public opinion. I mean, a man who?s played everything from Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men to King Triton in the live-action Little Mermaid ought to have some pretty interesting thoughts on masculinity! Overall, it?s just so refreshing that we?re hearing adult men openly discussing how to be good, better men, and I?m not surprised it?s talented character actors leading the charge.

In late April, People Magazine had a curious exclusive about Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt. Pete and Elsie started dating last year, and Elsie became pregnant within the first few months of their relationship. They welcomed their daughter Scottie Rose in December. So, Scottie was less than six months old when People Mag exclusively reported that ?there are issues, but they?re trying to figure things out together.? It read like a preview of a break-up. That?s exactly what it was by last Thursday, two weeks after People?s exclusive, Page Six confirmed that Pete and Elsie had split, six months after welcoming their daughter. I did not expect the break-up to get dramatic so quickly, but it has. Over the weekend, Elsie started spilling some tea on social media, although she deleted some of her comment responses by Monday morning.
Elsie Hewitt says she is solo parenting following her breakup from Pete Davidson, but a source refutes that claim. In a TikTok video shared on Saturday, May 16, the model, 30, clapped back at digs about her casual appearance in paparazzi photographs.
?Thats not what Im thinking about right now, because I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and Im doing it on my own, which is hard,? Hewitt said. She and Davidson, 32, who share a 5-month-old daughter, Scottie Rose, recently split.
In the comments section, Hewitt liked a response from a TikTok user who said that ?not staying with your partner? when they are postpartum is ?insanely loser behavior. The commenter added, This is THE most vulnerable time in a womans life.? Hewitt appears to have since deleted the like.
Another wrote, I hope you dont mean youre doing the financial part alone that would be insane given the circumstances. You seem like a lovely person and a wonderful mother! Were all rooting for you. In a since-deleted comment, Hewitt responded, I am :).
That same day, Hewitt shared a post on her Instagram Stories, stating that she is currently looking for assistance raising her child. ?Im currently trying to find an assistant/ mothers helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person,? she wrote in text over a photo of herself. ?Apply here if qualified & serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes,? Hewitt continued, adding that the position would ?of course? be paid.
In response to Hewitts claims, a source close to Davidson tells PEOPLE, Pete has made himself extremely available and has provided full financial support. Pete is actually covering all Scottie costs and more. The insider adds: He is hoping Elsie has good health and success for the sake of their daughter.
[From People]
So, Elsie got online and suggested that she needs to work to support herself and Scottie, and this came just days after Elsie and Pete?s split was confirmed. While I also think it?s loser behavior to leave a woman who gave birth to your child six months ago, I also believe that Pete has probably tried to set things up so Elsie and Scottie have enough money. Pete is a lot of things, but I don?t buy that he?s a deadbeat dad. At least? I won?t buy that without further evidence. Speaking of, Pete?s ?pals? ran to Page Six to dispute the money stuff too. One source said: ?Pete has been paying for everything

I?m truly enjoying this run of ?street style? photos of Taylor Swift in the past week. She and Travis Kelce have been in New York, and Taylor has been popping out every day or every other day. It?s been nice to see her out and about, and her outfits have been cute too. Over the weekend (Saturday evening), Taylor did something she rarely does: ventured outside of Manhattan. Taylor and Travis attended a ?private event? in Brooklyn, at Honey?s bar. It was apparently a friend?s wedding?
Taylor?s gold dress is from Maria Lucia Hohan, and the fabric is silk. It?s expensive, retailing for $2,280. She paired the dress with Aquazzura sandals and an Aquazzura clutch. But the most interesting detail of her look? She bought and wore a suite of opal jewelry which once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor.
[Taylor Swift] wore a full Darlene De Sedle 22K gold and opal diamond suite that was notably once owned by her idol and last album muse Elizabeth Taylor. It?s the first time she?s worn the entire set in public, which was auctioned publicly in 2011 and has not been seen in its full glory since. Swift modeled the matching chandelier-style earrings, ring, and bracelet?unmistakable, thanks to their pastel opal sheen and sculptural shapes.
It?s believed that Elizabeth Taylor, the classic Hollywood cinema star and muse to Swift?s The Life of a Showgirl, purchased the jewelry set in 1999. It stayed in her expansive collection until its sale at New York auction house Christie?s in 2011. The lot fetched around $6,000, and was part of a staggering, record-breaking $156.7 million day, exceeding all of its original estimates. Today, it remains one of the largest celebrity estate sales ever recorded. Later, the opal and gold suite was sold once again on 1stDibs for $125,000.
Swift?s 2025 music video for ?Elizabeth Taylor? saw her wearing several other pieces from the screen legend?s collection, including a 33-carat Krupp diamond (famously purchased in 1968 by actor Richard Burton as a gift for his wife), a 19th century diamond tiara that Taylor wore to the 1957 Oscars, and a famed suite of Cartier rubies.
[From Vogue]
So did she buy these pieces or is she borrowing them? I doubt she was the one who purchased them in 2011, but that doesn?t discount the idea that she purchased them from whoever bought them at auction. I feel the same way about this as I did whenever Kim Kardashian wore pieces from Liz Taylor or Marilyn Monroe as if. But even then, just be a good caretaker to those jewels.

In recent months, the Mail?s coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has gone full-throttle into the alternative-reality Deranger fan-fic. At this point, the Mail doesn?t even care what Prince Harry and Meghan are *actually* doing and saying, they?re just nurturing these alt-reality caricatures until Mail columnists are carted off to the looney bin and/or they get sued, I guess. Well, Alison Boshoff has written another piece about how everyone hates Harry and Meghan, mostly Meghan, and how all of the Sussexes? A-list friends want nothing to do with them. This is another one of those ?The Mail Remembers? pieces, because Boshoff is mostly talking about the guests at Harry and Meghan?s wedding, ahead of the Sussexes? anniversary on the 19th. I?ll spare you most of the histrionics, but I wanted to highlight some of the most egregious claims.
The Sussexes have fallen out with everyone: Not that Harry and Meghan believe that this could possibly be their fault. ?They don?t get it. They never think it is them,? one associate of theirs tells me. My source tells me: ?They love famous people ? they are very name-droppy. The association gives them a kick. But if someone stops calling they don?t ask why.?
They?ve fallen out with Oprah: Today, though, things are rather chillier. While Meghan has ?definitely been to Oprah?s house?, I am told by a source ?they are not as close as they once were?. Indeed, the relationship appears to be existing on a hair?s breadth for one reason, as well-connected broadcaster and former Page Six columnist Paula Froelich, of NewsNation, tells me. ?The truth is Oprah has been long-arming the Sussexes for some time,? she says. ?She can?t let them drift too far away because if something happens ? one of the three big Ds, divorce, death or drama ? she will want the interview. But she is not actually friends with them.?
No one wants to get caught up in Meghan selling clothes: Froelich also believes long-term alignment with Brand Sussex carries a reputational risk, hence former celebrity friends distancing themselves. ?No one wants to hang out with Meghan. ?Lots of reasons, but she might sell clothes while using their name,? she says, referring to Meghan?s latest business wheeze where she promotes her outfits through a fashion app that gives her a 10 per cent cut of the sales generated. Can you imagine? ?What to wear to visit Oprah,?? Froelich adds, with a shudder. As Froelich says: ?Oprah was tarnished by her association with them. The interview she did in 2021 was so soft and she didn?t push back on anything said, so she was seen as a sycophant rather than a great interviewer.?
The Clooneys: The other most high-profile guests at the Sussex wedding were George and Amal Clooney. Amal commanded attention in a spectacular yellow dress and the actor and his human rights lawyer wife had prime seats? How did they know the couple? Some say that ? just like Oprah ? they didn?t and the invitation was a simple ?reach out? from Meghan and Harry to those more successful and connected than themselves. The burgeoning friendship with the Clooneys ended, however, with Megxit. The source says: ?The Clooneys now want nothing to do with them.? Certainly Harry and Meghan have never been invited to the Clooneys? annual fundraiser, The Albies, which honour humanitarian work. Nor have the Sussexes, who regard themselves as prominent humanitarians, ever won an honour, which appears to be quite a snub. Paula Froelich says: ?George and Amal Clooney were never friends with her? they have literally nothing in common and side with the actual royals.?
Meghan is cheap!! An associate says this kind of gifting from friends is very much the done thing for the Sussexes, whose money troubles have only grown since the end of their lucrative Spotify and Netflix deals. ?They ask for a lot of resources to be spent as they believe it is a privilege to be in their circle,? says a source, adding: ?They think they are entitled to all the private planes.? The source also observes that Meghan is ?cheap? or stingy in British parlance. ?She is the cheapest!? the insider exclaims.
Idris Elba: The Sussexes? association with Idris Elba, who DJ?d at their wedding, seems to have ended in the same way for the same reasons ? Elba has long been a prominent supporter of the King?s Trust. Indeed the star, who was also at the event on Monday night, started his acting career with the help of a 1,500 grant from the then Prince?s Trust which allowed him to train at the National Youth Music Theatre. Elba has even made a documentary with the King about the charity, which will be out on Netflix in the autumn. And so, while the actor once called Harry a ?good friend? and revealed bride Meghan had sent him a playlist of tunes for the wedding, including Dr Dre, there has been no sign of them as much as meeting in six years.
The Beckhams: The falling out with David and Victoria Beckham is no less notable. The pair had declared themselves thrilled to be at the wedding in 2018, some eight years after Harry and David first got to know each other when backing the FA?s bid to host the World Cup?.David remains close to Harry?s ?nemesis? William, and is closer yet to King Charles. The friendship with Harry has, you could say, been allowed to tail off.
Elton John: A handful of close friendships remain. Elton John is still very tight with Prince Harry, although it is observed ?that is a Harry relationship,? rather than a Meghan one. It?s also interesting he no longer sends his private plane to bring Harry and his family for holidays at his Saint-Tropez home.
[From The Daily Mail]
Something I?ve always found interesting is that the Windsors have made a point of targeting Sussex-associates over the years. Prince William and King Charles BOTH targeted David Beckham to bring him onto ?their? side, and David clearly did anything and everything to get his knighthood . Charles targeted the Clooneys, not that it was difficult, as it was clear that George is perfectly happy to buy Amal?s access into the upper echelons of society. Charles also targeted Idris, although I don?t believe that Idris fell out with Harry at all (Idris just doesn?t have that personality). This is yet another piece where the British press is implicitly admitting that the left-behinds throw tantrums until various celebrities are forced to ?choose? which side to support.
But yeah, mostly this is just bullsh-t though. Oprah is fine with the Sussexes, and their relationship is simply discreet, which is how truly wealthy and elite people move. The truth is, Meghan and Harry are astonishingly good networkers and the Mail has no idea about the Sussexes? actual friendships, associations and relationships. And that, more than anything, is why the Mail has to create these alternative-reality stories.
