Taking care of an injury, Zoe Saldana emerged from a medical building with a colorful brace on her arm in Los Angeles, California on Friday (August 24).
Carrying a brown paper bag and a bottle of juice, the "Avatar" actress put her healthy hand over her face as she made her way across the street wearing high rise skinny jeans and a polka-dot top.
On the business front, Zoe has been rumored to have landed the lead role in the upcoming Cynthia Mort film "Nina", playing the late jazz musician and classical pianist Nina Simone.
The movie is said to document Simone's rise to fame as well as her relationship with her manager Clifton Henderson (played by David Oyelowo).

After much back-and-forth, Usher has been awarded primary custody of his two children by a court.
The "You Make Me Wanna" singer had been in the midst of a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
During the drawn-out proceedings, Foster claimed that the 33 year-old engaged in drug use in front of the children and absent at times. Usher fired back that Tameka kicked him and spat on his then-girlfriend.
Despite Usher being awarded primary custody, Miss Foster will retain some custodial rights to the pair's young sons.

With a colorful backpack slung over her shoulder, the fresh-faced "Ted" actress carried a Starbucks cup in one hand and shielded her face with the other as she walked down the sidewalk wearing black leggings and a light blue jacket.
Before grabbing her iced drink from the famous coffee shop, Mila kept sup on her slender figure by working up a sweat at a dance class in LA.
Earlier this week Miss Kunis enjoyed a baseball game with her rumored boyfriend Ashton Kutcher, where the pair sat in the first row at the park's stadium, munched on some grub and even shared a kiss! The yet-to-be confirmed duo were also joined by the brunette stunner's mom and dad.

And it sounds like Michelle and her boyfriend Jason Segel are getting serious- the ?Forgetting Sarah Marshall? stud recently called the late Heath Ledger?s dad/Matilda?s grandfather Kim Ledger to introduce himself.
An insider told press, "Jason got on the phone and introduced himself to Kim, and then invited the Ledgers to use his home whenever they wanted to fly in from Australia to visit Michelle and Maddie."

Ashley Greene showed up to the poorly reviewedApparitionpremiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood yesterday. The Chicago Tribune says the movie “hasn’t a ghost of a chance of being good.” Ouch, poor reviews and bad puns. That’s insult to injury.
The silver lining is Greene looked great. Due in part to her 5-6 days a week workouts which include Pilates, cardio, yoga, martial arts and strength training. Sure, that may seem excessive, but the alternative is her showing up to these things fat and out of breath. Is that what you want, huh?! You monster!

Kathie Lee Gifford confirmed on the Today Show yesterday that reports that country music star Taylor Swift showed up uninvited to the wedding of Kyle Kennedy were 100% true, because Kathie Lee was there at the wedding and saw the whole thing happen (look for Taylor to write song about being betrayed by Kathie Lee on her next album). According to the Daily Mail:
“I was just a guest at that wedding. [Kyle] is actually my granddaughter by marriage,” Gifford explained.
“The truth is, [the bride's mother's] account is accurate,” she went on, explaining the singer and [her 18-year-old boyfriend Connor Kennedy] were asked to leave twice.
But giving the Grammy winner some credit, she added that she did eventually leave.
I’m no stranger to being asked to leave a wedding. It’s called “open bar.” Now, what they should have done is grab Taylor by the shoulders, slap her across the face and yell, “For God’s sake woman, pull your dress back up and get out of the fountain, you’re embarrassing the family!” There’s really no room for misinterpretation there.
Taylor’s Elie Saab handbag isn’t even out yet, but you can get the same look by Rebecca Minkoff for under $400.

It just struck me as I was looking through these photos of last night?s LA premiere of The Apparition: Ashley Greene is the brunette Blake Lively. A pretty girl who is all hustle and hype, with not that much substance. We can bicker about the levels of hustle and hype, for sure ? Blake Lively is superior in that sense, mostly because of the dudes she dates. But there are lots of comparisons to be made between Ashley Greene and Blake Lively. Sidenote: I will also accept comparisons of Ashley to Kellan Lutz!
Anyway, Ashley has been dying to be a full-fledged movie star for a while. You may know her from the Twilight franchise (don?t ask me who she plays ? somebody with a really awful wig, right?), and from her infamous statement in which she compared herself to Angelina Jolie? because she was in a love triangle with Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas. For real. Anyway, just like with Blake Lively, I kind of admire Ashley?s hustle. She works hard at her celebrity status. She wants it. This is what she?s been working for: to the biggest ?name? on a red carpet, at her own starring vehicle (a budget-looking horror flick).
So how does Ashley perform when it?s her turn to shine? It?s not bad, actually. I kind of love this Donna Karan Atelier dress. It even looks like something Blake Lively would wear ? but I think I might like it more on Ashley, a brunette. It really compliments her coloring, and I love the lipstick choice. She has really nice hair too, although I personally would like to see her go a few shades darker. Ashley is the face of Donna Karan these days ? I wonder if Donna made this dress for her, or if Ashley just had her pick of the best Donna Karan frocks? Either way, this look is a winner for me.
PS? The one thing I dislike is the too-big cocktail ring. I think it?s a cabochon sapphire (with matching earrings)? It seems gaudy.

Gwyneth Paltrow must think that she’s the ultimate Renaissance Woman or something. Never mind that she just admitted that trying to do more than one thing at a time totally stresses her out, for Goop has decided that she’s much more than merely a mother, actress, model, blogger, singer, gym owner, a cookbook writer (who uses a ghostwriter, natch), and all around amazing person with an amazing work ethic.
Now Gwyneth has decided that she must be everything to everybody (you know how she lives to serve her peasants), so she’s seriously considering opening her own restaurant because, you know, there are no decent places to grab a meal in Los Angeles, right? Guess who’s helping Goop deal with the finer details of how to operate a restaurant? That’s right, her dear friend Mario Batali. Here’s the story from this week’s Star:
Gwyneth Patlrow is planning to open a world-class restaurant in Los Angeles. An insider tells Star, “She’s talking with her good friend, chef Mario Batali, about opening a place that specializes in Spanish cuisine. She wants to have a place where she can entertain her L.A. friends.”
While Gwyn, 39, is a well-known foodie and a fan of entertaining, it was Mario, 51, who pushed her to pursue her culinary dreams. “He gave her the confidence to take it to the next level and start thinking of concepts and locations. It will be a huge ego boost for her to be a restaurant owner.”
Phew — without this eatery, all she’d have is millions of dollars, a killer body and a rock-star husband.

Can you imagine dining in a restaurant owned by the Goop? First off, a simple starter soup will probably cost $39 because it will be based upon only the finest tears from Spanish orphans. And if a fat person ever enters the building, Gwyneth will likely tell them they shouldn’t eat anything. Hell, she’d probably have a weigh-in at the door, and then when people are done eating, the very special Goop cleanse will be part of the dessert menu. How splendid!

Before we got to the controversy, let?s just take a moment and look at Salma Hayek?s pictorial for the September issue of Vogue Germany. The photos themselves aren?t anything amazing, I don?t think ? it seems like such a bored and boring editorial. That being said, Salma?s body is CRAY in these photos. Like, she?s an embarrassment of riches with that body and that face.
Now, on to the controversy. In the interview with Vogue Germany, Salma was discussing her supporting role in Oliver Stone?s Savages. In the film, Salma plays some kind of Mexican drug lord ? her character orders Benicio del Toro to kidnap and torture Blake Lively?s character, I believe, and while Salma?s scenes probably weren?t filmed in Mexico (I think the whole thing was shot in and around LA), apparently Salma felt like it was the first time in a while that she was playing a ?Mexican character?. Salma is half-Mexican, you know, and she was raised in Mexico. Which makes her comments to Vogue Germany? a little weird:
“I am proud to have been involved in this film with all these great actors,? Hayek told Vogue Deutsch (as translated from German to English). ?Honestly, I hardly had any memories of what it is to be Mexican. My life is completely different now.”
“It?s true that we have a problem in Mexico and it is important to talk about it. However, the U.S. is playing a major role, even if they claim it is purely a Mexican problem. More than 30,000 people have been killed in the past few years in this drug war — mainly by arms that come from the U.S.?
?My life is completely different. It?s great thanks to my daughter Valentina and my husband.?
?It?s much easier to get an Oscar than a great husband. My career is not as important as everything else I have achieved. If they offered me to change my life in exchange for being the most famous and the highest-earning actress, I wouldn?t accept.?

Do you see where there?s a problem? I will spell it out for you: ?Honestly, I hardly had any memories of what it is to be Mexican. My life is completely different now.? I understood what she was trying to say ? that she?s far-removed from the world in which she grew up, having lived in LA and Paris for the better part of two decades. But Salma?s words are being taken as? well, something altogether Goop-ier. (Sidenote: Can?t you just imagine Gwyneth Paltrow saying something like, ?Honestly, I hardly had any memories of what it is to be American??).
Hispanic blogs are criticizing Salma for her statements, with one blog, Guanabee, asking: “What did Salma mean by basically saying she forgot what it’s like to be a Mexican woman? That she’s too French and rich for our blood?” It?s a thing now. And so Salma?s rep went to E! News and claimed that “the whole thing has been lost in translation” and “Salma is not disparaging Mexico in any way.” Apparently, this was the original quote, per Ingrid Sischy (who wrote the Vogue article):
“I am proud to be in this movie with all these great actors. The truth is that I almost have to try and remember what it’s like to be Mexican. My life is different now. You cannot make yourself represent something. You have to be an individual, by being the best you can be.”

I really don?t see a huge different? ?The truth is that I almost have to try and remember what it’s like to be Mexican. My life is different now.? Versus: ?Honestly, I hardly had any memories of what it is to be Mexican. My life is completely different now.? What?s the big diff? I?m not seeing it. If anything, I think the clarifying quote might be slightly MORE offensive. It makes Salma sound like she really has to put some effort into remembering a life beyond her gilded walls.
Incidentally, I think the real money quote is ?It?s much easier to get an Oscar than a great husband.? O RLY? Says the woman who does not have an Oscar, and whose husband just settled a giant child support case for the kid he fathered while Salma was pregnant. Sure.
