Just days after her replacement was officially named for the U.S. version of "X Factor," Cheryl Cole has been tapped to host the U.K. version of "The Voice."
Rumors of the possible new gig for the "Girls Aloud" singer now have U.K. networks ITV and the BBC fighting to play host for the super-successful singing competition.
A source close to the situation told The Sun newspaper, "The hype around 'The Voice' is now so great that ITV feels it has no choice but to be in the running for it. If the BBC got it - and managed to sign Cheryl - then it could snare loads of viewers away from 'The X Factor.'"
Meanwhile, "X Factor" creator, Simon Cowell finally spoke out about Cheryl's departure from the show, telling press, "I'm sorry. I hope we're still close friends. She's still a star."
Cowell added, "The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her. But the truth is I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the right place at the right time. This was never personal or saying 'you were terrible.' "

She also revealed how some men feel the need to be rude or dismissive simply because she is famous and successful. ?Sometimes, perhaps because they are intimidated, they feel they have to knock me down,? she told the Sunday Times Style magazine. ?They know perfectly well who I am, but say, ?How are the Narnia films going??.?
This all because she’s famous, has $33 million in the bank and is hot (at least with long hair). I don’t see how any of that is intimidating. In fact, I’d be standing outside her house right now with a bouquet of flowers if it wasn’t for this restraining order.

According to a report, Leo wrapped up his uber-romantic French Riviera holiday with Blake Lively by taking her to Disneyland.
Blake made a quick stop at the MTV Movie Awards before being whisked off to Anaheim where she and DiCaprio enjoyed VIP treatment at the theme park.

The casually-clad momma-to-be was all smiles as she and Honor, who was dressed head-to-toe in princess attire, checked out of their posh overnight pad to get on with the day's fun festivities.
Jessica, being the proud parent she is, has been busy at work on her too-adorable tot's birthday for some time now.

Matt Damon has been looking a little too “middle aged dad” lately. He was perfectly buff when he filmed Adjustment Bureau, but when he promoted it in early March he’d gained some weight and was sporting long fug hair. On the Piers Morgan show in March he was just as attractive as ever, but he looked like a more serious, older version of himself. He was sporting some cute but nerdy glasses on too.
Damon made an appearance at an event honoring him last night. He was one of the people celebrated at the “Made in New York” awards for his “‘significant contributions’ to the city?s entertainment and new media industries.” Damon lives in New York now with his family so that he can spend time with them while he’s filming. He told the audince that he used to come to New York with Ben Affleck to audition and that “our dream was…to actually some day get a movie… that [is] shot in New York.” Damon has fulfilled that dream several times over.
You can see that he’s taken some weight off, which he probably gained as sympathy pounds during his wife’s last pregnancy. He’s also cut his hair short. He looks like Jason Bourne again and like he’s erased ten years.
I’ll take Damon any old way, but this look is the one that won me over 13 years ago in Good Will Hunting, and this is the one I prefer.
Is it blasphemous to say that he should maybe consider dyeing his hair, like his good buddy Ben Affleck?

Here are some newish photos of Kristen Stewart arriving in London yesterday. She and Robert Pattinson spent the weekend together in LA, and I?m not really sure why she?s in London now. Sparkles flew back to Toronto, where he?s filming. Perhaps K-Stew is taking another English lover? According to the British rag, The Mirror, K-Stew was seriously pissed off at Sparkles for ?snubbing? her during their ?Best Kiss? win at the MTV Movie Awards. You might remember that Sparkles ran off into the audience to makeout with Taylor Lautner? apparently, K-Stew let her lip-biting bitch rage:
AS 7,000 fans watched in stunned disbelief Robert Pattinson snubbed Kristen Stewart and snogged her mate instead. Her male mate. So it?s little wonder that Kristen sank her fangs into R-Patz just minutes after the pair collected their gong for Best Kiss at the MTV Movie awards. The on/off couple briefly returned to off as the actress tore a strip off the vampire heart-throb, screeching across the VIP area backstage: ?You made me look like a total jerk out there!?
As the British actor, 25, tried to defend himself, she raised a ?talk to the hand? palm and brushed past him.

Twice before they have refused to recreate their snogs on the awards stage, but this time Kristen suggested the pair give the chanting fans what they wanted ? a full-blown smacker. Leaning in, she was all-set for a tongue sarnie? until, Rob deadpanned: ?I feel bad because I don?t feel like kissing you. You don?t want to kiss me, do you??
Refusing to give up, the 21-year-old actress replied: ?It?s been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it.?
R-Patz disagreed. Shaking his head, he continued: ?I just think there?s someone else in the audience who will appreciate it a little more.?
Then, jumping into the crowd, he grabbed Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner, and kissed him full on the mouth. As the crowd, mostly teenage girls, shrieked, Rob dusted himself off and planted a delicate kiss on Taylor?s hand.
Despite her public humiliation, Kristen and Robert patched up their differences, and were later holding hands and giggling.

Yeah? do you believe this? Historically, Kristen Stewart HATES showing any kind of affection in public. She hates the very idea of presenting herself publicly as anything other than a surly, angst-ridden, lip-biting, slouchy troll. She would never be mad at Sparkles for NOT kissing her in public. The last time he tried, she rolled her eyes and moved away. Besides, all of the behind-the-scenes stories from the after-parties had Kristen and Sparkles all loved up:

And after K.Stew changed out of her red leather Balmain mini dress she wore to the show, the starlet got comfy by throwing on her signature checkered sneakers, black skinny jeans, and a ripped white T-shirt that exposed her black bra. Rob rocked jeans and a baseball cap to attend the swanky after bash.
“Rob and Kristen seemed really comfortable with each other and with showing their affection in public,” adds our eyewitness. “At one point, they sat down at a table with Emma Stone and her friends and kept playfully touching each other and stealing quick kisses throughout the convo. Both were in great spirits.”

I simply don?t get it. I really don?t. I really thought that Sparkles would be done with Kristen by now, but it really does look like Sparkles is ?the one who loves too much?. Eventually, Kristen will break his heart. And at some point, he?ll realize that there are less surly fish in the sea. But for now, they?re good.

Okay, I think these are probably the last of the CFDA photos (although I might talk about my Gerard Butler a little later). Here is our beloved whack-job Chloe Sevigny, wearing some kind of frilly-leather combo ensemble, possibly by Opening Ceremony, which is by Chloe?s own line. If this is what she comes up with as a fashion designer? dear God. I love Chloe just because she?s funny, but this combination just looks? cheap.
Next up: Miranda Kerry in this black cutout dress by Michael Kors. I would like to see the dress without the gold belt/embellishment at the waist. And beyond that, I really dislike cutouts. But Miranda doesn?t look bad here.
What?s good about Liv Tyler?s dress - I love the colors. What?s bad about her dress: it looks like wallpaper from the 1970s. It?s by Proenza Schouler, a label I?m starting to think is severely overrated.
And finally, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ashley is in blue, I guess. They?re both wearing their label, The Row, but MK?s gold jacket is Chanel. I kind of like the blue, just because it?s not incredibly over-sized and frumpy. She should be applauded for not looking like a little old lady for once.

Here?s how everything went down last week: first, the initial batch of nude photos of ?Blake Lively? came out. Blake?s rep denied that Blake was in the photos. Then the second batch of photos came out, and her rep still stuck to the same denial, only this time the denial barely got any coverage because people have eyes. Then, Blake is pap?d on a boat with Leonardo DiCaprio in Venice. She looks worried and pensive? yet breezy. You can see the photos here. That was Blake?s real response to the photo scandal - ?Yeah, you?ve seen my boobs, but I still landed Mr. Hollywood. JELLUS?? Next up: Blake makes an appearance at the MTV Movie Awards. She didn?t back out, which I give her credit for, and she stood tall even though she became the butt of some jokes and some bitchiness from Reese Witherspoon. Personally (and I know many of you don?t agree with me), I though Reese looked like a bitchy, hypocritical prude while Blake earned some sympathy from me. But that?s just me - I admire her hustle, and I think Blake?s nude photos will end up helping her career.
Anyway, it?s looking more and more like Blake doesn?t need my sympathy. She and Leonardo must have flown from Italy to LA together, and Leo joined her later that night? at Disneyworld. Ugh.
Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio just wrapped up an ultra-luxe, mega-romantic jaunt on the French Riviera and other Euro hotspots. What’d they do for an encore? They went to Disneyland!
After Lively, 23, made an appearance at the MTV Movie Awards (showing up on the red carpet and presenting onstage with Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds), the actress was spotted later that night with DiCaprio, 35, and a group of pals (most of them in their 20s) at the Anaheim, Calif. park.
According to a Disneyland witness, the hot new twosome and their entourage were escorted via private entrance to the front of the line on the “StarTours” ride past 11 p.m.. The Gossip Girl starlet wore a knit smock and a face-concealing hat, while DiCaprio donned jeans, windbreaker and a hat. The group — seen taking photos of one another with their phones — enjoyed their own private ride on the Star Wars-themed simulation ride, according to the observer.
After midnight, the VIP crew was spotted again (with a guest relations tourguide) hanging outside the penny arcade on “Main Street.” A little while later, with the park all but empty, the witness spotted to group “chattering and laughing” during a stroll through Downtown Disney back to their hotel.
Just last Thursday, Lively and DiCaprio were spotted on a water taxi in Venice, Italy, following numerous, luxe stops in Monte Carlo, Saint-Paul de Vence, France, and elsewhere.
“I’ve never seen him like this with a girl,” one DiCaprio source told Us Weekly.

They?re both massive country music stars, and Taylor Swift and Shania Twain have teamed up for a very special video for the CMT Music Awards.
The ?Should?ve Said No? hitmaker and the ?Man I Feel Like A Woman? songstress recreated a scene from ?Thelma & Louise? and it looks totally authentic.
Shania did a great job of portraying Susan Sarandon?s Louise, while Taylor took care of Geena Davis? gig Thelma.
The 2011 CMT Music Awards is scheduled to hit the airwaves tomorrow night (Wednesday, June 8th) at 8pm on the CMT Network.

Historically, I?ve never been the biggest Kirsten Dunst fan. I?ve always found her rather annoying, honestly. But over the past year or so, I?ve noted time and time again that Kiki seems to be trying to get her act together. She?s made the effort to not look or be so wasted in public, she?s shown up to many events looking sober and pulled-together, and at times flat-out beautiful. Reportedly, she?s even been acting more professionally behind the scenes too. All of which I respect. That being said, the girl still has some misses, and last night was one of them. Kiki wore this Patrik Ervell tux and shirt? and I really, really dislike it, in total. I dislike everything put together - the slim-cut pants, the poorly-cut jacket, the old-fashion tuxedo dress shirt, and the turquoise lapel detail. It looks like Kiki is trying too hard to look impossibly chic, like she?s wearing vintage YSL instead of this budget crap. And that too-high hair bun isn?t helping either. Oh, and she?s back to looking drunk/high too.
Just to show you that I?m not a complete hater of the tuxedo look for ladies, here?s LeeLee Sobieski, wearing a fresh white suit/tuxedo designed by her husband Adam Kimmel (the shoes are Givenchy). THIS is a beautiful look on a woman. Not so much with Kiki?s tux.

Not only is she just flat-out crazy, Fergie actually offends me and others with her insanity by claiming that she?s this wonderful mother (she?s not, she?s a narcissistic drama queen) or that she ?loves? the idea that both she and Princess Diana weren?t at the royal wedding. For real. Anyway, Fergie is still in the midst of a publicity tour to promote her show on OWN (Oprah?s network). This morning, she gave an interview to Today, and it?s a lot of the same crap that we heard in Fergie?s Harper?s Bazaar interview. Pity poor Fergie, she?s a victim of her own generosity! The media is so mean! She?s so wonderful and selfless and no one ever gives her credit for being so awesome!

Ah. Her story about selling influence to the royal family is now a ?tabloid setup? - her story has changed yet again. She also changed her story about watching the royal wedding! Jesus, she just lies all of the time. She told Oprah that she did in fact watch the wedding in Thailand. Now she claims she didn?t. WTF?

Sarah Ferguson broke down in tears on US television as she said she had been left feeling “emotionally bankrupt”, “worthless”, “unlovable” and “pointless” by the years of abuse. Telling how she had been scarred by the behaviour of her late mother, Susan Barrantes, she said: “I looked in the mirror this morning and went, ‘Well, no wonder no one loves you - you are so disgusting.’”
The Duchess made the emotional disclosures in a six-part documentary series for US the Opera Winfrey Network in which she is filmed undergoing therapy. In the show, called Finding Sarah, the Duke of York?s former wife revealed how her mother spotted a vein on her forehead when she was a toddler which she believed to be a sign of the antichrist.
The Duchess recalled: “When she used to hit me because I didn’t sit on my potty or wouldn’t eat, a little vein would come up on the centre of my head near my red hair… It’s just the way I was brought up. No wonder I’m so flawed.”
She went on to disclose that she blamed herself for the break up of her parents? marriage after Barrantes left her father for an Argentinian polo player.
She said: “I believed I caused my mother to leave and therefore I am worthless and unlovable.”
Wiping her eyes with a Pink handkerchief, the Duchess went on: “Dad, who was a tough military man, said, ‘You need to get rid of all your ponies because there’s no one here to look after them. . . your mum has gone.’ Every time I got upset he would call me a sheep’s ass and tell me I looked like a clown and to grow up and stop being so silly. So I did. I shut up and never said a word.?
But the Duchess went on to tell how her daughters, Beatrice, 22, and Eugenie, 21, are a constant source of support and encouragement.
She said: “The girls are solid, confident, fabulous and they do really well… they have seen me sabotage myself and learn from my mistakes. They believe in me and love me.”
Finding Sarah will premiere in the US on Sunday, June 12.

Du Pres? body was never found after trying to save Greenlee in a waterfall accident, hence leaving the door open for Duhamel?s cameo.
After a long and successful run, ?All My Children? will air its last episode this coming September.

I?ve mentioned this before, in passing, but I feel like I should be honest at the very beginning of this post: I?ve never been able to stand Thandie Newton. I have some various ?reasons? for not liking her (she?s one of the most overrated and ?affected? actresses working today, in interviews she comes across rather Goop-y and sanctimonious), but basically it?s just a gut-level reaction for me. It?s like a twitch at this point. Whenever I see Thandie, I?m just disgusted. It?s very much like my gut-level reaction to Kristen Stewart at this point - there is never a moment when I don?t want to smack her. Don?t you have people who just piss you off for little to no reason? Thandie is just one of those people I irrationally hate.
So with that prologue, imagine my reaction to this recent interview Thandie Newton gave about her start as an actress at the age of 16 years old. She got a part in an Australian film called Flirting (also starring Nicole Kidman), and Thandie began a sexual relationship with her 39-year-old director John Duigan. Now, I guess 16 was and is the age of consent, so it?s not like it was statutory rape, legally speaking. And Thandie is not claiming that, to her credit. But I?m still not sure why she?s discussing it:
Thandie Newton has revealed that she has come to terms with a traumatic relationship with a film director 23 years her senior who she claims took advantage of her innocence as a teenager. She spoke about her six-year affair with director John Duigan which she began when she was 16 after travelling to Australia to audition for his film Flirting, which starred Nicole Kidman.
The Bafta-winning actress has said the relationship left her feeling ?self-destructive? and said she has only spoken about it ?so teenagers can see they can resist and gain self-awareness?.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, Miss Newton, 38, star of Mission: Impossible II, The Pursuit of Happyness and Rock ?n Rolla, claims Duigan took advantage of her when she was vulnerable.
She said: ?I was a very shy, very sweet girl. I wasn?t in control of the situation. Would I have liked things to be different? Sure. But I can now value myself more for the way I got through it. I don?t see myself as a victim.?
She added: ?Part of me feels grateful I can accept the difficulties that came with that situation and be a more compassionate person myself.?
Miss Newton, an ambassador for skincare brand Olay, is happily married to director Ol Parker, with whom she has two daughters, Ripley, 11 and Nico, seven. She said she had therapy after the affair. She also said she never told her parents about at the time.
Asked why she had not reported it to police, she said: ?I am my own supreme court. I judge that one. And in a strict legal way there might not be a case.?
Previously she has said: ?In retrospect, although it was legal because I was 16, I was coerced.?
Duigan, now 61, lives in America. He is believed not to have married. His spokesman could not be contacted last night.

Yes, a 16 year old girl is not emotionally and intellectually capable of carrying on an adult, sexual relationship with a 39-year-old man, regardless of whether or not it was technically legal. It?s really creepy, and that is on him, this John Duigan dude. But you know what else is creepy? That it went on for SIX YEARS. And that she never told her parents? Who else thinks that there?s more to this story??

Paris Hilton’s new reality show, The World According to Paris, premiered on the Oxygen network last week. It was a “ratings bomb,” according to multiple reports and got just 409,000 viewers. Reality TV World explains that those are low ratings “even by the women’s cable network’s fairly modest standards,” and adds that by comparison Aubrey O’Day’s reality show got 704,000 views for its premiere episode.
What’s more is that Paris has pulled out of promoting the show. She cancelled a bunch of scheduled press appearances, not that they would have made any difference, after Barbara Walters called her to task on The View last week. Barbara and Whoopi questioned why Paris hasn’t done any charity work and why she’s doing a reality show yet again, and Paris got defensive but handled herself well. (You can watch that video here if you’re in the US.) It was too much for her, though, and she couldn’t be bothered to show up for anything after that. This explains why Paris’ cat-faced mom, Kathy, was on The Today Show alone yesterday to do an interview about the show. Do you think the Kardashians would ditch a morning television appearance like that? Of course none of this is Paris’ fault, and it’s not due to the public’s lack of interest in her. It’s all the network’s fault:
“Paris is furious that the show didn’t premiere at the time it was supposed to,” an insider tells me when speaking about ‘The World According to Paris.’ “She worked her tail off doing promotion and publicity for the show and then because of a technical mistake, the show aired at a completely different time in a lot of markets.”
A representative from the network denies that there were any glitches in her premiere episode.
“The show premiered at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 as was promoted,” an Oxygen spokesperson told me in a statement. “There were no technical mistakes. We look forward to a very exciting run of the series.”
This week’s episode brings together Paris and Charlie Sheen’s ex, Brooke Mueller, whose ongoing substance abuse struggles will be addressed. The rep said this week’s episode with feature Brooke’s “cry for help.”
Her busy week of promotion also included a rough interview on ‘The View,’ where Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg grilled the socialite on the frivolity of her show. She reportedly flipped out backstage and got into a shouting match with a producer. In short, it was a disaster and she canceled events because of it.
“Paris’ second season on that MTV show where she found a new friend was a disaster and she hasn’t been able to sell a magazine cover since the Kardashians arrived,” a TV insider tells me. “If the numbers remain less then the 400,000 that tuned in last week she could get pulled off the air.”
By comparison, the March debut of singer Aubrey O’Day’s show drew 724,000, and 1.7 million viewers tuned in for the premiere of the most recent installment of ‘The Bad Girls Club.’
“This could be the last nail in the coffin,” a senior marketing manager tells me. “She has been replaced by Teen Moms and Snooki. She would have been better off not doing a new reality show at all then doing one that proves no one cares.”

I agree with Whoopi and Barbara. Paris is a twit. If her life is so great and she’s got so many businesses going why is she doing reality TV again? I know, she wants to show that she can compete with the Kardashians and the Jersey Shore kids. Only she can’t, she’s old news, and she’s never matured beyond the party girl doing drugs and dropping racist slurs that we saw in those “Paris Exposed” videos. This is her life, and she doesn’t have a lot to offer. We’ve all known this for some time. It’s Paris who will never get it.

Here are some photos from last night?s CFDA Awards (where Lady Gaga was named a ?Fashion Icon?). Jessica Alba was in attendance, of course, because she doesn?t have much going on and she fancies herself a fashion girl. She jacked some color tips from Cheryl Cole for this Diane Von Furstenberg gown. Is this the new color scheme and no one told me? Bright purple and orange, co-existing together in one outfit. Good to know. In any case, considering the maternity dress doesn?t look like Pepto-Bismol vomit, I?m going to give Alba a fashion pass. Yeah, this color scheme is very ?Jack Nicholson as The Joker?. But the real style fail is Alba?s hair. Very few women can really make this tightly-slicked back, ?instant facelift? hairstyle work. On Alba, it looks wonky. She has such pretty hair - why not just style it around her face?
Next up: Lucy Liu, over-dressing in Monique Lhuillier. Most ladies were wearing cocktail dresses, but there were a few gowns. But basically it was just Gaga and Liu who decided to wear giant show-stopping dresses. Gaga?s excuse was that she was being named a fashion icon. Liu doesn?t have an excuse. She just decided to wear a ball gown to a cocktail party.
Here?s Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein. I love the dress? on Naomi. On someone else, it might have looked like an unfashionable sack. You have to be slender and blonde to make this sack look good, I think.
And finally, Kelly Bensimon wearing God knows what. She really has no idea how to keep it covered up. She looks like Steven Tyler.
