Liv Tyler has a new skincare video for Vogue that my girl Kaiser/Chandra alerted me to. She knows I love Liv Tyler and skincare and this video far exceeded my expectations! I know its long, but just watch a few minutes of it, I posted it above, and youll see what I mean. Liv is sharing her very pricey skincare routine and while its unattainable to most of us plebes it was a delightful look into her self-indulgent rituals. I always remember the interview Liv did where she said she took two HOUR baths nightly while pregnant with her last baby. She would watch entire movies in the bath. That sounds ridiculous, right? Once you see how much Liv loves taking care of her skin it seems so like her. In the video, Liv starts prepping by sticking a fancy scrunchie in her hair made from an Hermes fabric (I love scrunchies!). She then uses an oil cleanser to remove her eye makeup, moves on to a special foaming Japanese cleanser made from silk, then applies two different face masks starting with a special blue flame mask which costs $40, according to Allure. Thats not bad and she does moisturize and applies makeup after. If you add up all the skincare products she shows it totals over $1,000. Liv explained that her grandmother got her into skincare from a young age and her dad, Steven Tyler, loves it too. At the end of the video she ends up looking so glowy, natural and gorgeous. Heres Allures report on Livs products.
In a new video for Vogue, the 42-year-old actor shares her skin-care routine which, after her hair is tied back with the chicest scrunchie in the world, starts with not one but two cleansers. Thats not the only step she doubles up on, though.
After using the gooey and oily Sarah Chapman Skinesis Lash Boosting Eye Cleanse ($62) on her entire face, Tyler likes to foam up with Chidoriya Hydrating Facial Soap ($17). Its made from pure silk and rice bran, and its just this really beautiful, this is the little bar of soap, she says of the Japanese cleanser. You add water to it and you make this kind of lather.
The next step Tyler does twice is masking, so she can get two different benefits. First up is the Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask ($40). Its really good to sort of draw out any impurities in your skin, and it also gives it a good glow, Tyler says. After removing it, she then applies the first of three Dr. Barbara Sturm products in her routine, the Face Mask ($160). Its really good to also do a hydrating mask of any kind, she says, explaining that she uses this one in particular because it feels kind of cool and hydrating and moisturizing.
Another Dr. Barbara Sturm product, Hyaluronic Serum ($300), comes next, and its the most expensive one of the bunch. You dont actually need much. You can just put one dropper-full or just a couple of drops. Tyler says, explaining that she also applies it to her neck and hands. It really is very deeply, deeply hydrating. It goes way in and penetrates.
Before applying any other topical products, Tyler shows off her weird Sarah Chapman Skinesis Facialift ($38), a textured rolling tool. It feels really good if youre stressed and you clench your jaw and stuff, but its supposed to kind of help contour this part of your neck, she says. Then, she applies Talika Eye Therapy Patches ($49), which she keeps in the fridge.
In addition to double cleansing and double masking, Tyler also double moisturizes ? first, with Rodin Olio Lusso face oil ($119). After that, she break out a French favorite, Avne Extremely Rich Compensating Cream. I use this a lot on set, she says, explaining that its great under makeup. She then gives it a little boost with Sisley Paris Floral Spray Mist ($100), and a big boost with her third and final Dr. Barbara Sturm product, Glow Drops ($145).
[From Allure]
I think I can afford that cream Liv uses, although its a splurge at $35. (It has 4.3 stars, 194 reviews and an A from Fakespot!) If youre interested in all the makeup Liv uses, Vogue has those details. Her other tips include drinking plenty of water and green juice. She also takes CBD oil for anxiety, which I do too. I get mine from CBDistillery (not an ad, but they can send me free stuff if they want) and it doesnt get me stoned exactly. However I cant take it before work or before we record the podcast as it does make my thinking slow. Liv has such a soothing voice that I could watch this video on repeat all day. Liv is a treasure. I hope Im half as excited about gossip as Liv is about skincare. I dont think I could ever sound that sexy when describing it though. Damn.

Bazaar has a new “day in the life” feature with Liv Tyler. Tyler is currently pregnant with her third child. She made the announcement in January so I assume she’s due sometime this summer. I love Liv but the hourly play-by-play she gave Bazaar of her average day is a bit exhaustive. She divides her time between New York, where she lives when she’s filming, and London, where her fiancee, David Gardner, is currently living. She told Bazaar that she spends about a week in London every month and is moving there in September. The nice thing about Liv is that she gushes about the people who work for her, including her assistant, trainer and chef, and mentions them all by name. She also owns up to some seriously indulgent practices including two hour baths every night and hiring a manicurist to come over after her kids are asleep. She lives a charmed life.
On being pregnant
I’m pregnant now, I’m allowed to eat what I want, which is really fun. It’s crazy?I’ve been pregnant for two years straight. I feel more balanced when I’m pregnant, strangely, and less pressured. It’s like a nine-month vacation when I can prioritize being home.
Her fitness routine
In New York I work out with my trainer, David Kirsch, either in the morning or later on. Since I’m pregnant again, we do light weights and the medicine ball, but I take it easy.
Her assistant helps her with her work with fashion brand Belstaff
She was Alexander McQueen’s assistant until he passed away, so she’s great at helping me understand the fashion side of things.
Her afternoons
In New York, I have this incredible cook and superwoman, Claudia, so I’ll eat at home and run errands while Sailor naps
She loves to take photos
I take hundreds of photos every day and send David tons of videos of Sailor doing something crazy, like right now he’s whirling a pot around. I also love to FaceTime with my grandmother. She is so sweet with her correspondence. She calls me “Baby Girl,” which became “BG,” and signs her texts “With devotion.”
She takes two hour baths at night and watches movies while she’s in the tub
I’m a major bath person. It’s a full-on couple-hour process every night, while the boys watch football or after they go to sleep. I add salts and Kneipp oil to the water, put a face mask on, and exfoliate my skin with gloves. I wash my hair with Pantene every other day unless I have gorgeous hair left over from an event… I can read a script in one bath, and sometimes I’ll pull up a stool and watch a movie on my computer while I soak.
She drinks wine with her manicurist at night
My favorite thing is to get my nails done or get a facial. Nobody can find you for an hour. This amazing woman Gina comes to the house and does my nails while the kids are asleep, and we sit on the couch and drink wine.
[From Bazaar]
Liv’s life sounds amazing and I enjoyed how grateful she is for all the people who help her out. I can’t believe she takes two hour baths every night that’s incredible. Also, I just learned a life hack for watching movies in the tub – get a stool and put your computer next to the bath. I’ve never thought of that, although I can only bathe for about 20 minutes before guilt sets in and I start thinking of all the things I have to do. Liv also says that she does transcendental meditation for about 20 minutes every night. She enjoys her down time that’s for sure.

| Liv Tyler on 90s models: 'they were a 4 or a 6' they weren't malnourished' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Liv Tyler, 38, has a new interview with Yahoo! Style. She’s currently starring in The Leftovers, which is in its second season on HBO, and has a new indie film coming out next year called Wildling. Plus she just designed a clothing collection for British brand Belstaff, which I suppose is why she talking to Yahoo! Style. She also has a ten year-old son and an eight month-old son at home. She’s described by the journalist as exhausted and she sounds like she has a lot on her plate. Liv is also thinking about body image when it comes to fashion and while she seems to hold herself back from saying that today’s models are too thin, she does describe the models of the 90s as not “malnourished”:
?I go through periods where I just want to wear sweatpants and a puffer coat, and I wish I lived in Maine where I grew up and I could just jump in the car and go to school,? she says. ?And then I stop myself and say, wait, you?re so lucky you get to live in New York City and you have beautiful clothes. Pull yourself together.?
?Samples are a size zero ? they?re so tiny,? says Tyler. ?I?m 5’10?, a giant, and I wear a size 10 shoe. Sometimes I just have to settle for what fits.? She says a sample came in the other day from a designer brand she often works with, and the bra looked like it wouldn?t even fit her 10-year-old. ?It was like a training bra,? she says with a disappointed sigh. ?But if I were 5’2? and really petite [like a lot of actresses] I could wear those things.?
Samples, she notes, weren?t that small when she first started modeling. ?If you look back at Helena Christensen or Christy Turlington, they were probably a 4 or a 6 ? they had beautiful bodies, very lean, obviously, and gorgeous,? she says. ?They obviously took beautiful care of themselves ? they weren?t malnourished.? Today, sadly, is a different story. ?The girls walking the catwalk [now] are very, very thin and very tall,? she says. But when I ask her what she thinks of that change, Tyler demurs. ?I hate to make big statements because people just run with it and take it out of context,? she says. ?The whole industry has changed, it?s hard to comment.?
Like any woman, though, Tyler says, she has days when she wonders whether she should try harder to fit into certain beauty standards: ?I?m looking at photos and thinking, wait, should I look like that? Do I need to do that? Do I want that??
But Tyler always manages to find a way back to herself. ?I?ve always felt this strange combination ? a will to be myself and to keep what is authentic about me [juxtaposed with] this other side of my work, which is very much about beauty and physical appearance,? she explains. ?I think there is a lot of pressure [in Hollywood] to look the same, now more than ever. But I always try to remind myself of who I am, and stay true to that, to not compare myself to others.?
[From Yahoo! Style]
Liv makes a good point about the sizes of 90s models vs. today. It would be nice to see more size 4 and 6 models in general, although of course today’s sizes 4 and 6 are not what they were in 90s. It’s interesting because the body size of the average person has increased while the models have gotten smaller. It’s like high fashion keeps getting more unattainable.
Also, I made a similar point about sample sizes in a story yesterday on Lindsey Vonn, but I hadn’t read this interview before I wrote that. I was just thinking about how actress’s body images must be influenced by the fashion available to them and Liv spoke to that. Imagine being told that you could get free designer clothing straight off the runway as long as you were a certain (very low) size. It could be alternately infuriating and motivating, although Liv just seems introspective and thoughtful about it.

| Liv Tyler, 38, talks aging: 'It's not fun when you see things start to change' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The lovely Liv Tyler covers More Magazine, which typically features older celebrities. This reminds me that Tyler is 38 now. She has a kind of perpetual naivety that makes her look so young. Livtalks to More about aging in Hollywood. She almost says that the roles have dried up but then seems to realize that she sounds ungrateful and hedges a bit, calling the roles she’s offered now “interesting” despite the fact that she also calls them “second class.”
Liv is promoting season two of The Leftovers on HBO. (I’m sorry to say it’s one of the few shows I couldn’t watch past the first episode. It was just too slow-paced and depressing for me, although the reviews are mostly positive.) Her costar, Justin Theroux, has some nice things to say about Liv that confirm the impression I’ve always had of her – that she’s a positive, genuine person. Here’s some what she told More, with more of their interview at the source and in the print edition:
On valuing her role as mom over her professional career:
?I didn?t see how I could go away for three months to make a film and be the mother I wanted to be.?
On what she loves most about being a mom:
?My favorite thing about being a parent is that I learn so much from the push-and-pull dynamic of mother and child. Having children, I learned about my own strength.?
On what it?s like to juggle her career, relationship and kids:
?I feel like I?m conducting a giant orchestra, because there?s so many moving parts. It?s like, ?Over there, you guys do that!? And then, ?Over there, you do this! All together now!? It?s kind of what it feels like to be a mom, isn?t it? In the modern world??
On aging in Hollywood:
?38 is a crazy number. It?s not fun when you see things start to change. When you?re in your teens or twenties, there is an abundance of ingnue parts which are exciting to play. But at [my age], you?re usually the wife or the girlfriend, a sort of second-class citizen. There are more interesting roles for women when they get a bit older.?
On taking on serial television for the first time with The Leftovers:
?With a film, you have the script, and you know the beginning, middle and end. With TV, they write as they go. I have no idea what my character is going to be doing ? which is frustrating. Part of me loves it, and part of me hates it, having no control. Being comfortable in the unknown is hard for humans; even if we don?t really know what?s going to happen, we kind of trick ourselves into thinking we have a plan. This latest career move has been an exercise in letting go.?
Justin Theroux, Liv?s Leftovers costar, on her positivity:
?You?d think someone who has experienced what she has might become jaded or cynical. And she?s neither of those things. She?s sunny-side up, not sunny-side down. Liv carries this incredible optimism in life. There?s a wonder to her. She?s a seeker. She?s looking for the next most interesting experience in life, in love, in everything.?
On her relationship philosophy:
?I had this philosophy that you should only get married once. But then, of course, that changes. I definitely believe we have lessons we learn through our relationships. You?re meant to work through and mirror each other. It?s the thing in someone that drives you the most crazy that is maybe a part of yourself somewhere.?
On what?s more important to her today than it was 20 years ago:
?Not being perfect, my girlfriends, and a glass of wine at the end of the day.?
[From More Magazine received via e-mail]
In terms of seeing things change, I’m 42 and I’ve only recently noticed that I have these scowl lines around my mouth. I’m trying to make an effort to correct my resting bitch face, because my default is to slightly frown. (There’s no way I’m getting injectables after seeing some of the results. I’ll just have to deal.) Otherwise I’m cool with aging as I’ve noticed I give less f*ks the more time passes. Plus there’s always makeup. It must be hard in Hollywood though because women like Liv, with her big eyes and gorgeous looks, are no longer picked in their late 30s for the roles they would typically fill. There just aren’t parts for older women. The men age but the women keep getting replaced. Liv may have wanted to say as much, but she’s too nice to sound ungrateful.
The editorial is well done and somewhat haunting. When Liv looks at the camera, all you want to do is put a blanket around her and give her a cup of hot cocoa. Even when she closes her eyes, there’s something vulnerable and sweet about her. It’s like the photographer wanted to test this. She doesn’t lose her charisma when her eyes are closed, you’re just waiting for it to hit you full force.

She?s well on her way to becoming a mother for the second time, and Liv Tyler definitely has that pretty pregnancy glow.
The ?Armageddon? actress is featured on the cover of Town & Country magazine?s December/January issue and it sounds like she?s enjoying having a bun in the oven.
Liv gushed, ?The most fun thing about being pregnant again is having those mom hormones flowing around. You?re more present in your body, and it?s making me a better mother for Milo.?
Ms. Tyler also explained what drew her to ?The Leftovers?- ?When I heard the premise, I thought, ?That?s right up my street.? I?m attracted to things that are a little off. Growing up I was a huge fan of The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, and Creepshow ? things that don?t provide all the answers. Normally I?d say I?m not a competitive person; I kind of think things happen for a reason. But for the first time in my life I really went for a role.?
Looking back over 2014, Liv shared that she?s in a great place these days. ?I mean, for seven years I?d been saying I wanted to do an HBO show with an ensemble cast. And I wanted a house in the country. And getting to have another child? If you knew me well, they were the things my heart longed for. And they all came together, like a speeding freight train, in one year.?

Above is a photo of Liv Tyler, 37, out with her British boyfriend, Dave Gardner, on August 15. Gardner is a good friend of David Beckham’s and co-starred with him in the documentary David Beckham Into The Unknown. He was said to be dating Kelly Brook this last December.
Multiple sources have confirmed to E! that Liv is expecting. She was photographed in billowing clothing while vacationing in Spain with Gardner and her son Milo, 9, at the end of August. Milo’s dad is British musician Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog. Here’s the news from E!
The 37-year-old Leftovers actress is expecting her second child, E! News has confirmed with multiple sources. (Tyler’s rep did not comment on the baby news.) Tyler already has 9-year-old son Milo William Langdon from her previous marriage to British musician Royston Langdon. Tyler and Langdon split up in 2008 after five years of marriage.
Tyler’s pregnancy follows news that she’s dating David Beckham’s good friend Dave Gardner. The cute couple has been spotted out and about together multiple times recently. Just last month, Tyler and Gardner were spotted holding hands in London as they left a pal’s birthday party. And several days after their PDA spotting, the lovebirds jetted off to Formentera, Spain, for a romantic vacation where they were snapped kissing and cuddling. Too cute.
A source told E! News in August that Tyler and Gardner had “been seeing each other for three months or so” after reportedly having been set up by supermodel and mutual pal Kate Moss.
“They get on very well and are really enjoying spending time together,” the source added of the couple. “He flies to New York mostly to see her and they feel very comfortable together.”
“He is very charismatic and a real gentleman and she appreciates that about him,” the insider said.
Meanwhile, Gardner has two children with his English actress ex Davinia Taylor, whom he was married to from 2003 to 2010.
[From E! Online]
I have to hand it to Star Magazine, they called Liv’s pregnancy in their last issue. They said she was covering up her stomach on vacation and that she could be pregnant. We have some photos from that trip below, and she does look somewhat pregnant there. Just Jared has more photos, and in one the wind is blowing her dress around her stomach and you can definitely tell. She was also photographed out recently looking bumpy.
In the Star article from last week, they claimed that Liv and Dave have been together for two months. E! had it at three in August, so with the benefit of the doubt they’ve been together four months tops. That’s not enough time to get to know someone enough to decide to have a baby with them! I hope it all works out, I hope they’re very happy together, but they just tarted dating and Liv is pregnant enough to be showing already. I worry about her.
Anyway congratulations to Liv and Dave!

| Liv Tyler finds Justin Theroux's giant bulge 'distracting?, wants to kill Orly Bloom | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
I?ve heard mixed things about the new HBO show The Leftovers. It?s not like I?m looking for something to criticize either ? I haven?t watched any of it because I canceled HBO as soon as Game of Thrones was over. I just don?t think HBO has some massive hit on their hands with The Leftovers, and it?s not some cultural-touchstone show. And I don?t think it has much to do with Justin Theroux or Liv Tyler, the two most major stars of the show. I think it has a lot to do with creator/writer Damon Lindelof and his limited bag of tricks.
Anyway, I?ve been thinking about how weird it is that Justin did barely any advanced promotion ahead of the premiere, and I completely missed the fact that Liv Tyler basically did NO promotion. But two nights ago she was on Watch What Happens Live and she talked about Justin?s bulge (#neverforget), whether she would ever pose for Playboy and what she dislikes about her dad. Some highlights:
Liv on Theroux?s bulge: “There was this scene where he was jogging. And there was quite a large bulge in his sweatpants, and it was all over. I get distracted when I watch the pilot, definitely. I’m like, ‘Can’t help but look there.’ But I’ve never noticed the bulge other times.”
Marry, shag and kill. “Marry Justin Theroux, shag Ben Affleck and kill Orlando Bloom.?
Whether she would ever pose for Playboy: “I don’t know, my mom’s body was so beautiful. I’m a little too shy to be naked. I’m kind of into wearing panties. I would do it if I could have something covering my something.”
The best & worst parts of Steven Tyler. “The worst is that he likes to ride in limousines, and I get really embarrassed. The best is his smell. I love the way he smells, he smells really good.”
[From Us Weekly & E! News]
Those photos of Justin Theroux?s bulge were pretty Hamm-Dong-tastic, so I would imagine that the bulge in motion (running!) would be? disconcerting. Distracting. Did the director just not notice? Or was the bulge some kind of strategic marketing technique? Also: she wants to marry Justin, shag Affleck and kill Orly?! How does that make any sense? You need to kill the Batfleck. Then marry Orly and shag Justin probably.
