Here are some new photos of Lindsay Lohan looking somewhat presentable and less cracked-out last night in LA. LL was at the ?wrap-party? for the micro-financed film, The Canyons. So, the film only had a budget of something like $200,000, but they managed to make it stretch for a month of filming, plus their coke budget, plus an after-party budget. Fine, I?ll say it. This is going to be a really terrible film. Do you want further evidence? Lindsay?s p0rn costar, James Deen, told TMZ that Lindsay totally ?helped? him:
Lindsay Lohan personally helped p0rn star James Deen reach new levels of prowess — this according to the p0rn star himself, who says acting with Lindsay was one of the greatest learning experiences of his life.
James was leaving Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills Saturday when he was asked about working with Lindsay in their new film “The Canyons” — and he replied, “Working with her was awesome. She’s super professional. Super great. She’s a fantastic actress … I feel like I learned a lot from her.”
Deen said working with an actress like Lindsay “brings the best out of you. It was very helpful to me as an amateur.”

I just felt a twinge because I remembered all of the nice things Tina Fey used to say about working with Lindsay on Mean Girls. Poor Tina.
Meanwhile, remember how both LL and Charlie Sheen were planning to take roles in Scary Movie 5? Well, as it turns out, they really will have scenes together ? death scenes. Is this even worthy of a spoiler? Fine. Spoiler: The studio says Charlie and LL will be ?the world?s hottest new couple? in the movie, and one or both will be killed in the movie’s opening sequence.
And here?s another ?WTF?? piece of Lohan news ? remember how Lindsay was all up on James Franco last year? Yeah, I had forgotten about that too, but Franco hasn?t forgotten. James Franco is going to make a movie about her. Sort of. Maybe. Franco has put a ?casting notice? out that he?s looking for “James Franco types” and “Lindsay Lohan types? for a new project he?s directing.
I?m also including a photo of Lindsay at will.i.am?s album release party a few nights ago ? that?s the photo where she?s got a pissed-off expression and she?s wearing the black sleeved thing. LL and Will were joking around about a possible collaboration (true story: I wrote that as ?collabortion? at first). You can see more about that here.

Continuing to stay fit, Nicole Richie headed to the gym in Studio City this afternoon (August 14).
On the way in, the 30-year-old wore a black tank top, black cropped tights, and a large black tote with a denim jacket slung over one shoulder, while sporting perfectly styled hair. Exiting, the daughter of Lionel Richie had her hair pulled into a ponytail as she tried to hide her face from cameras with an Alexander McQueen scarf.
Knowing the importance of staying healthy, Nicole has joined with QVC to support breast cancer research.
The former reality star stated, ?Women everywhere are affected by breast cancer and the battle to fight this disease is more important than ever. Having the opportunity to use fashion as one of my contributions in this battle is extremely rewarding.?
The Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) will put on a shoe sale on the network on October 24, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm EST.
Ms. Richie will appear in print and television adds to support the 19th annual event. Also, a selected shoe design from her House of Harlow 1960 collection will be available for purchase during the sale.

I’ll be perfectly honest here and admit that I only really wanted to write about these new Katy Perry photos (part of her new advertising campaign for the hair brand ghd) because of a certain other set of NSFW photos of Katy at a waterpark and losing her bikini down a water slide. Essentially, her booty was exposed for all of the gathered spectators as well as the paps, and eventually, us as well. Here’s my question — it is now confirmed that Katy has a very lovely figure, right? I know that I hate on her quite a bit, but one can’t deny the power of that (marvelously white) booty.
Now onto the actual subject of this post: Katy’s latest advert campaign, which was shot by the legendary Ellen von Unwerth for hair brand ghd. The shoot itself is rather glamorous and unlike the candy-cane confections that we’ve come to expect from anything associated with Katy. However, I find it quite odd that People has declared Katy to be “naturally gorgeous“ in this shoot (which promises a “a good hair day with katy“) for ghd’s brand, which primarily pertains to hair-straightening devices. This is all well and good except that Katy’s actual hair looks like this right now. Even if one takes into account that this shoot may have taken place a few months ago, Katy’s hair has never really looked like this … except when she wears a wig. So this would obviously be a very clear-cut case of false advertisement, right?

The campaign is all about showing the confidence that a good hair day can bring, and thanks to superstar session stylist Danilo there was a whole lot of good hair — Katy’s shown with a different style in each of the shots. All the hair looks are effortlessly beautiful and were styled with the range of ghd stylers, ghd brushes and ghd style products.

Maybe we’re supposed to be okay with the declaration that this shoot required a “genius hair stylist” who was actually a “wig stylist.” Or maybe it just doesn’t matter that Katy is being just as fake as she always is while selling hair products. Does it really even matter? I’m not currently in the market for a hair-straightening iron, but if I was, ghd wouldn’t even be on my radar thanks to this campaign.

CB and I were just debating Jessica Biel?s hair, and why Biel seems incapable of finding a decent hairstyle. These new photos ? from yesterday?s Dublin premiere of Total Recall ? are a great example of Jessica?s lack of self-awareness about her styling. CB thinks the problem could be that Jessica simply has an awful hair stylist whom Biel trusts completely for whatever reason, thus bangs trauma and this raggedy mess. My take: Jessica is so convinced of her own beauty, so overconfident in her ability to pull off extremely versatile looks, that it simply doesn?t occur to her that she should just stick with a simple chignon.
Anyway? obviously, I think Biel looks pretty rough here. I even dislike her Zac Posen dress on the red carpet, although Biel did change for the afterparty (into the lacy Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress in rose-beige). The Posen dress just doesn?t suit her ? maybe I would like it more on someone else, I guess. As for Biel?s costars? Kate Beckinsale wore a Donna Karan gown in hot pink. It?s a pretty gown. I?m not sure it?s right for a Dublin premiere, but whatever. And Colin wore a D&G suit. He looks meh to me these days.
Ugh. I still cannot even fathom why an attractive girl would consistently allow herself to be styled so poorly. What is Jessica thinking? Is she getting bad advice? Or is it a matter of insane overconfidence?

I love Kristen Bell and Dax Shephard as a couple. I know she seems a little high strung and over-emotional, judging by her viral video featuring her reaction to the mere mention of a sloth on Ellen. (Seriously, watch it if you haven’t yet.) But she also seems cool to me, in the way that a friend who’s over the top makes life seem like an awesome adventure. Maybe you couldn’t take it to hang out with her every day, but she seems like a hell of a lot of fun. (Check out this recent profile of her in Esquire, which confirms my impression of her.) Dax Shephard is also the highlight of my favorite drama, “Parenthood,” and I’ve been impressed with him in the interviews I’ve seen. He kind of reminds me of my brother, which is probably why I think he’s so cool.
So I’m glad to have a chance to write about them, and to help promote their movie. They’re co-starring in Hit and Run, an action movie also featuring Bradley Cooper, Kristen Chenoweth and Tom Arnold. It was written and co-directed by Shephard, and the trailer is below. It looks very entertaining. Hit & Run is out next week.
As part of promotion for the film, Celebuzz asked these two when they were going to get married. They got engaged a whopping two and a half years ago, over the holiday season in 2009/2010. Earlier this year Kristen said “We consider ourselves already married. We already wear the rings. I don’t want a wedding. It’s too much stress.” Now she’s saying that they’re waiting until same sex marriage is legal in California:
They met in 2007 and he popped the question on Christmas day 2010, [sic: it was Christmas, 2009] but Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard aren?t ready for a stroll down the aisle just yet.
?This is very much up to the State of California,? Bell told Celebuzz when asked about her wedding plans.
?We?ve been very vocal about not wanting to be married in a state that doesn?t allow that right to all of its citizens. We?ll wait until California gets on the right side of history.?
A union of another kind came early for Bell and Shepard as the two star in Hit & Run their first movie together since 2010?s When in Rome. Directed by Shepard and starring his good friends Tom Arnold, Bradley Cooper and his Parenthood costar, Joy Bryant, the new movie fulfills one of the actor?s lifelong ambitions.
?Seeing the man I love really accomplish one of his dreams, which is directing a real car chase movie, I wanted to give him the best performance,? said Bell. ?I wanted to be able to do what he wanted to see. So there wasn?t ego involved when he was directing me.?
Not this time, but there might have been. Working with a loved one can be bliss or it can be hell. Chemistry in the home can turn into chaos on the set, especially when budgets are as short as the shooting schedule.
?We disagree on almost everything,? said Bell.
?But not work,? added Shepard. ?We typically like the exact same movies. We have the same opinion on scripts and on television shows. In that respect, we?ve very, very aligned.?

So earlier this year Kristen said that it was too much stress to get married, and now she’s saying she’s postponing the wedding in solidarity with same sex couples. Maybe she’s just happy with the way things are and doesn’t want to mess it up. They live together (next to Justin Bieber) and it sounds like they’re doing well – I hope! I was ready to praise them for taking a stand on an important issue, but now it sounds like Kristen has her own reasons for not wanting to make it official yet. Whatever works for them.

Times are tough for Miss Amanda Beard who was spotted looking disheveled in Woodland Hills, CA this afternoon (August 14).
The 26-year-old actress donned a low cut shirt that showed off her cleavage, while adding tiny leopard print shorts, which exposed her thin, bruised legs.
Sources revealed that the former Nickelodeon stopped by a CVS Pharmacy, where she walked in and out of the store three times. Each time Miss Bynes exited the store, she apparently forgot where she parked.
In recent news, the ?What I Like About You? starlet was involved in her third hit-and-run incident.
TMZ reported that a woman was driving her Toyota Corolla when she was hit from behind by Amanda. As the other woman tried to exchange insurance information with her, Miss Bynes ?seemed nervous about that? and made the attempt at fixing the woman?s bumper herself, trying to push it back into place.
After the incident, she deleted her Twitter account.

Heading out for a ladies lunch, Kate Moss took daughter Lila to Cote Brasserie in London today (August 14).
The 38-year-old supermodel looked chic in her black top, vest, cuffed pants, strappy sandals, and shades. Her 9-year-old matched her in a short black dress and tights with patent leather shoes. The adorable duo was joined by the model's assistant and Lila's nanny.
Showing her support of her home country, Kate reportedly accepted the nominal fee of one pound to appear in the Olympics closing ceremony. The host nation paid tribute to fashion as London holds one of the world's largest fashion weeks and is a hotbed for designers.
Strutting her UK pride, the svelte blonde donned a shimmering gold McQueen's gown as she walked from a point of the UK flag to its center.
