A few days ago, I noted that Eva Mendes, world-famous underwear model (and sometimes actress) forgot to wear a bra to a screening of her new film Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. Which, by the way, is one of the worst movie titles I?ve heard in a while. It?s such a mouthful! Anyhoodle, on the ?Eva forgot her bra? post, I mentioned that I find Eva to be very ?meh?. What I didn?t mention was that over the weekend I caught part of that dumb Will Smith movie, Hitch. I?ve never seen the whole thing, and I?m not looking to. I literally watch it for five minutes when it?s on television, and then I?m like ?Damn, I need to go read a book.? So, I?ve seen the whole Will Smith-Eva meet-cute a few times, but I?ve never before caught the film near the end, where she goes over to his building and tries to apologize. The acting was so horrible - from both Eva and Will - that I was laughing hysterically. I think it was supposed to be emotional and heartbreaking, but both of them just looked farty and bored, and like they forgot their lines.
So that got me thinking? has Eva ever been a good actress? Has she ever had a role where people and/or critics were like ?Eva shines, she?s awesome?. I?m looking at her filmography? and not so much. So it?s even more amusing to read this new interview with Eva, where she?s talking about how she?s avoided being typecast, and how all of her film nudity (and there?s a lot) was done on ?her terms?. Like she?s Meryl Streep or something, and she can go to a director with terms.
Actress Eva Mendes isn’t afraid to admit that she uses her sex-symbol status to help her secure film roles.
?I don?t allow myself to be typecast, but when I have to turn up the heat and turn up the sexuality and I do an amazing Calvin Klein campaign it?s very conscious, that?s no accident. It?s very methodical on my part,? Mendes explained. ?If I feel it’s appropriate to show some nudity in the scenes then I go for it. As much as I use my sexuality, I have never felt exploited. I feel like it?s on my terms and I have no problem with it.?
And while Mendes is one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood who has likely been all around the world, interestingly enough, she only made her first visit to the hurricane-torn New Orleans while filming her latest crime drama ?Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans? in August last year.
?It was exciting because we brought business there, but it was pretty devastating. I was in shock at some parts, I hadn?t been there ever so I was still in shock that this happened in our country,? Mendes told us while promoting the flick. ?I felt we were somewhere else in certain areas. Our government failed this; you can see they failed this. It was pretty intense.?

Probably because you can?t act for sh-t, but you?re pretty, you?ve got a nice body, and you think doing nudity is somehow part of your ?method?. I get it? your ?method? is to drop your clothes. Ordinarily, I would have absolutely no desire to talk about any of this, simply because even celebrity gossip needs to draw a line between what is fun, snarky nonsense, and what is just tragic and personal. I saw the reports last night that Celine Dion is no longer pregnant. Celine either had a miscarriage or, as is being reported currently, the in vitro ?didn?t take?. I thought to myself ?how sad? and decided not to write about it, thinking that Celine and her family would not be releasing any kind of further statement about it. I was wrong. Rene Angelil, Celine?s husband, gave an extensive and interesting interview to The Montreal Journal about their in vitro struggles, and how they?re determined to try again and again, if necessary:
Cline Dion isn’t pregnant after all ? but will keep on trying for a second child.
“We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous,” Dion’s husband Ren Anglil, 67, told the Canadian paper Journal de Montreal of their failed attempts. “But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever.”
Forty-one-year-old Dion’s doctor announced that she was pregnant via in vitro fertilization very early in the process, and it is now revealed that the embryos transferred in August and October were unsuccessful.
“Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn’t the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked,” said Anglil. They quickly tried again to get pregnant, but were unsuccessful, he added, “But you know Cline. She doesn’t let go.”
The couple have one “extraordinary” son, Ren-Charles, born in 2001, who was also conceived with the help of Rosenwaks, director of the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Center Medical Center.
“I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests,” Anglil told the paper, revealing the couple will go to New York this weekend for a third try. “Cline and I didn’t get discouraged … we put our faith in life and in the stars.”

God bless. And I mean that. In the scope of celebrity parents, Celine and Rene seem wonderful, and utterly devoted to their son, and they would make great parents to another child. I hope everything works out in the end, and the in vitro will eventually ?take?. I do wonder if Celine and Rene would consider adoption, though, if the in vitro doesn?t work out. Maybe they already have considered it, and plan to adopt if in vitro doesn?t work.

'Glee' soundtrack debuts strongly at #4; Weezer's Raditude comes in at #7.By Gil Kaufman

Carrie Underwood will score her second #1 debut in a row next week, when her third album, Play On, tops the Billboard 200 chart, thanks to sales of 318,000. While the strong debut was cause for celebration, sales were more than 200,000 below the first week bid for the former "American Idol" champ's smash 2007 Carnival Ride disc, which moved more than 527,000 in its first week.
Regardless, the numbers were more than enough to beat out the #2 album, the soundtrack to "Michael Jackson's This Is It," which will slip from the top perch in its second week thanks to a nearly 50 percent dip to 196,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. But the double disc of mostly previously released material from the late pop star has easily crossed the half-million mark in two weeks and is likely to have strong sales thanks to the extension of the theatrical run of the documentary.
The top 10 will get some other fresh blood, including a #3 bow for tenor Andrea Bocelli's My Christmas (149,000) and a #4 debut for the soundtrack to the hit choir competition show "Glee," which moved more than 113,000 copies after dominating the iTunes singles download charts for weeks. Also dropping in are the latest in the hits series Now That's What I Call Music, Vol. 32 at #5 (102,000) and Weezer's Raditude, which lands at #7 (66,000).
The rest of the top 10: Taylor Swift's Fearless (#6, 70,000), Michael Bubl's Crazy Love (#8, 59,000), Sting's If on a Winter's Night (#9, 59,000) and the "New Moon" soundtrack (#10, 52,000).
Just outside the top tier, the Foo Fighters hit #11 with their first greatest-hits compilation (44,000), followed by metal stalwarts Slayer with the cheerily titled World Painted Blood (#12, 41,000). The news was not great for reunited rockers Creed, whose first album in eight years, Full Circle, drops 12 spots to #14 in week two, after sales plummeted 65 percent to 39,000. Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3 has fallen out of the top 10 for the first time since its debut two months ago, dropping to #15 (38,000).
Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas had a decent debut week for his first solo effort, Phrazes for the Young, which comes in at #35 (14,000), two spots ahead of the Live at Reading disc from '90s grunge icons Nirvana (#37, 14,000). After multiple delays, former R&B It Girl Amerie lands softly at #46 with In Love & War (13,000), which puts her just ahead of singer Ryan Leslie, whose Transition musters a #50 bow on sales of 12,000. The second album from Southern California beach-rap bum Shwayze, Let It Beat, drops in at #55 (11,000).
A number of anticipated releases appear to be hitting the skids, including the second album from Black Sabbath-loving Aussies Wolfmother, Cosmic Egg (#62, down 46 spots and 64 percent to 10,000); once-dominant radio titans Train, whose Save Me San Francisco slides more than 50 spots in week two to #70 on sales of 9,000; and R&B crooner Brian McKnight, whose Evolution of a Man nosedives 60-plus spots to #84 in its second week (down 69 percent to 8,000).
Look for debuts next week from Bon Jovi and Britney Spears' greatest-hits album, as well as discs by Flyleaf, a live CD/DVD from the Killers and the latest from Dashboard Confessional.

Earlier this month Gisele passed her multiple-choice written pilot’s exam with flying colors, showing her knowledge of regulations, navigation, and aeronautics.

Next up to pile on Lindsay Lohan?s bad few weeks, we have Emanuel Ungaro. He?s finally gone on the record about what he thinks of Lindsay?s line for his fashion house (which he no longer runs), and not surprisingly, it isn?t good. Ungaro agrees with everyone else: it was deplorable, embarrassing, and a complete bomb. He had nothing good whatsoever to say about Lindsay, and he seems downright depressed about the state of the fashion line that bears his name.
“Lindsay Lohan’s collaboration was a disaster.” That’s the blunt assesment [sic] given by Emanuel Ungaro, the founder of the couture house that hired the actress to advise them on a fashion line last month.
“I am furious but I can’t do anything about it,” fumed the designer during a meeting on Monday night at a film festival in Lisbon. Ungaro, who no longer has any contact with the fashion house that bears his name, said his creation is “in the process of losing its soul,” as a result of the Lohan hiring.
The ‘Mean Girls’ star, 23, worked alongside designer Estrella Archs as a style consultant and debuted her first collection during Paris Fashion Week last month. The work was almost universally panned as an “embarrassment” by the international fashion press.
Ungaro said his isn’t surprised that his fashion house is faltering. “That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls.”
Lohan’s history of hard-partying along with various legal squabbles have derailed her once-promising film career. The shift to fashion was seen as a fresh start for the troubled star.

You hear that? Lohan actually kills souls. I think that?s essentially what Emanuel Ungaro is saying. And that makes sense: once your own is dead, you?ve got to feed on someone else?s. This isn?t exactly breaking news: Lohan?s line was criticized by absolutely everyone. And sadder still, she honestly had no idea it was coming. Two days before the show she gave an interview to the Times Online in which she talked about how hard she worked and how she has an eye for fashion. Embarrassing, to say the least.
Clearly, Lindsay doesn?t have a future in fashion. She doesn?t have a future in acting. She released that one album once, but being a successful singer takes at least as much hard work as an actress, and she couldn?t keep up with that. So what?s a girl to do? I?m no expert, but whenever I?ve got nothing on my plate, I like to go chill at a rehab facility for a few months. That?s just me though. I?m not mentioning it because everyone says Lohan has to go to rehab or she?ll be dead in six months. I just really, really like going to rehab, so I suggest that everyone who?s got some extra time go to rehab. Rehab.

The most hotly-anticipated home video of 1999 just got the kibosh — a judge granted singer Jennifer Lopez a temporary restraining order yesterday barring ex-husband number 1 Ojani Noa from releasing intimate home videos taken during their 11-month marriage. The NY Daily News says
Noa, 34, was in court without a lawyer and claimed after the ruling it was never his intention to sell the steamy camcorder footage.
He said he planned to make a Borat-style mocumentary about his life as a Cuban immigrant.
“[Lopez] is destroying my life,” Noa [said]. He said the videos — including intimate moments shot on their 1997 honeymoon — were used only for “inspiration.”
The racy reels include shots of Lopez, now 40, “fondling herself” over skimpy clothing and getting spanked, said a source who’s seen the 11+ hours.
Sounds fascinating. No nudity, just footage a Latina woman getting patted on the ass through her clothes. In most hispanic cultures, I’m pretty sure that’s actually considered a formal greeting. Just like the wolf whistle and the double-fisted crotch thrust, which when performed in succession can actually be considered a legally-binding proposal of marriage in most Spanish-speaking countries. Maybe the Daily News never visited Mexico before.

If you noticed that every tween is sweating profusely and sparkling in their pants today, it?s because Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were captured sort-of holding hands last night as they walked on a tarmac, about to board a plan leaving Paris. We don?t have access to the photo, but you can see it here. What?s cute is that they?re not really holding hands. Kristen seems to be holding Sparkles? wrist in a very sweet, girlish way that makes me love them both. Their costar Peter Facinelli even tweeted about the photo, writing ?Guess this picture proves everything?. Yeah, as if we ever doubted that Sparkles and Kristen weren?t nailing each other to every hotel wall from Los Angeles to Paris. Ah? I just can?t quit the Sparkles, as much as a I try.
It seems like you can?t be in the most romantic city in the world and not feel a little love, right Rob and Kristen? After promoting New Moon in Paris, the Twilight star couple headed to the airport and to a private jet together and it looks like they?re almost holding hands. Well, we can?t blame either one of them!
RPattz and KStew have spent the last few weeks coyly denying their relationship, or at least avoiding the question of are they/aren?t they? However, the two look quite happy as the depart the City of Lights together.
The film franchise’s star trio — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — posed on a balcony with New Moon’s director, Chris Weitz, for cameras at the Crillon Hotel in Paris, France earlier on Tuesday, where they are doing promotional work for the long-awaited sequel.
At the press conference for New Moon on November 6 in Los Angeles Rob told a story of his most romantic moment. “I put a flower on someone’s locker when I was 15-years-old,” Pattinson said. “This girl called Maria.”
Despite the floral declaration of affection, Pattinson was out- maneuvered by a rival suitor. “She thought it was someone else. And the other guy, he claimed the flower,” the actor admitted. “Yeah, it was great.”
Kristen is well aware that people care about her relationship with Rob, but isn?t so keen to talk about it. “I probably would’ve answered [the romance question] if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer.”

There?s not much more to say. I think even in these photos, from the Paris New Moon photo call, show how much they care for each other. The looks they?re giving each other are so sweet in some of these pictures, and usually is Sparkles looking at Kristen, honestly. He looks totally besotted with her, and she looks like she?s? content. Happy, even. Sigh. These kids, I adore them.

John Travolta was on ?Ellen? yesterday with his nine-year-old daughter Ella for an emotional interview. Ellen didn?t ask him about the death of his son Jett last January or even really get the chance to ask John how he was doing. He started off right away with a heartfelt thanks to everyone for all the love and support that?s been sent his way, which was very sweet. He said it with such enthusiasm that you can tell it really has meant something and been helpful for John and his family.
The entire interview on ?Ellen? was pretty emotional ? John teared up when talking about how proud he was of Ella on her first acting role.
John Travolta says he is grateful for all of the support he has received since his son Jett died at age 16 following a seizure this past January.
“I just want to take one moment to thank each and every one of you throughout this country, through out the world for all your support and all your love for our family,” he says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday. “Thank you very much.”
His 9-year-old daughter Ella — who makes her film debut with her dad in their upcoming comedy Old Dogs (out Nov. 25) — also appears with him for her first talk show interview.
“You are so proud of her, aren’t you?” DeGeneres asks Travolta, 45, of his daughter.
“I’m holding back the tears…” he says as DeGeneres hands him a tissue.
Travolta also reveals his new hobby: tennis. “I play everyday,” he says. “I play at midnight, kind of vampire-style.” Who does he play with? His housing staff. “The house manager and the house maintenance person,” he says. “At midnight, we go to the local tennis court.”

In a bit of sad news, Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil has announced that they’re no longer expecting a child.
The “Because You Loved Me” songstress, who was due to give birth in May, lost her in vitro pregnancy, and the whole family is heartbroken.
Angelil told the Journal de Montreal, “We’re living in the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques.”
Celine and Rene have an 8-year-old son named Rene-Charles and were hoping to add to their brood. Last year Dion revealed, “We’d love to extend the family.”

Halle Berry was on the Tyra Banks show yesterday promoting her new perfume, Halle. She told a story about how a woman at an acquarium recognized her daughter Nahla, 19 months, and how upsetting that was to her. Berry takes pains to keep her privacy, and filed a complaint last year against a photographer who trespassed on her property in an attempt to get the first photos of her daughter, Nahla. For Nahla’s debut, Berry took her daughter to the zoo and happily posed with her when she was four months old. Many celebrities sell the first photos of their babies but Berry decided to let multiple paparazzi get the first shots so that they wouldn’t be worth a fortune. She’s had minor altercations with the paparazzi since, and has told them to back off when she’s out with her daughter.
Berry says that the paparazzi need to stop hunting down kids and that “children should not be subjected to this kind of scrutiny” or “be objectified.”
Halle Berry stops by to chat with Tyra about her new perfume, “Halle” on Wednesday, November 11th’s “The Tyra Show.” The Academy Award winning actress also shares with Tyra how she deals with maintaining privacy for herself and her family.
Tyra admits even she’s only seen Nahla because of a paparazzi photo.
Halle Berry: “That part of it has become horrifying. We were at the San Diego aquarium and a woman comes up and my daughter is playing with her daughter and the lady said, ‘Wait a minute, Is that Nahla?’ and I looked at the woman and she goes, ‘Oh my God and you’re Halle Berry, but I recognized your daughter first.’ And I wanted to melt, I was so distraught.”
Halle Berry: “The paparazzi now they have no sense, it’s crazy and what there [sic] doing to children, it’s just not right. I know nobody has a lot of sympathy for celebrity because we are blessed in so many ways, but these children should not be subjected to this kind of scrutiny, be objectified, be hunted down, its just flat out wrong.”
Halle also shares contrary to popular belief Nahla is not named after “The Lion King,” but after Halle’s African heritage.

Jennifer Garner has also spoken out about the paparazzi targeting her children and shouting rude things at them to try and get a reaction. There may be some relief for celebrity parents soon. A new law will go into effect in California in January that “makes it a crime to take and sell unauthorized photos of celebrities in ‘personal or familial activity.’” This probably means that Jennifer Garner can call the cops if she gets harassed outside her daughter’s school, and that Halle Berry will have some protection from photographers bothering her when she’s out with her daughter.

Continuing work on her new movie, Katie Holmes was out early this morning (November 10) on the Long Island set of “The Romantics”.
Making for quite the pleasant surprise, the former “Dawson’s Creek” actress received a visit from her hubby, Tom Cruise, who’s on break from filming “Knight and Day” in Boston.
The sighting comes amidst a bit of criticism received based on a recent photo of Katie feeding daughter Suri with a bottle despite the fact that she’s already 3-years-old.
“By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth co-ordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early,” pediatrician Jennifer Shu told Us magazine.
Meanwhile, fellow doctor, Harvey Karp, added: “Sucking is normal for kids when they are tired or bored - as long as kids aren’t keeping the bottle in their mouths for hours. Thumb-sucking is more damaging.”
