Mandy Moore has two young boys with husband Taylor Goldsmith. Their names are Gus, age two, and Ozzie, one. While celebrities have different levels of exposure for their kids being in the public eye, Mandy has always been pretty open with her children?s lives when it?s in the context of her motherhood journey. She?s outspoken, but not to the level of overshare. Mandy?s talked about not feeling good enough as a mother, having two under two-year-olds being overwhelming, shared her potty training journey, and more. Honestly, most of what Mandy shares is pretty relatable.
I didn?t realize this but at some point, doctors told Mandy that she may not be able to get pregnant. They suspected that Mandy possibly had endometriosis and was planning on getting surgery to ?fix? it so that she could get pregnant. But as the Universe would have it, Mandy ended up getting pregnant before her surgery happened.
Mandy Moore thought she?d have a difficult time getting pregnant before conceiving her two boys. On Tuesday, the actress reflected on her uncertain road to motherhood and being told she had a ?slim chance? of conception in a candid Instagram post.
?I?ve always wanted to be a mom. Before bringing my two boys into the world with my love, @taylordawesgoldsmith, I was a mom to many many cats and at times, just as many dogs,? she began alongside a throwback video of her much younger self sitting on a couch with a cat under each arm.
?But there was a time when I thought I might not be able to have kids,? she continued. ?I remember when the doctor told me there was a slim chance of getting pregnant? and then lo and behold to our surprise, I became pregnant with Gus.?
The ?A Walk to Remember? star, 39, went on to call motherhood a ?beautiful, messy, sleepless gift.?
It turns out that Moore, who shares her boys, August ?Gus,? 2, and Oscar ?Ozzie,? 1, with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, prepared for her real-life role as a mother through her ?This Is Us? character of Rebecca Pearson.
?Playing Rebecca on #ThisIsUs actually prepared me for it a bit ? like changing a diaper for the first time and running around set with ?triplets,? she wrote in the vulnerable post.
?Being a mom on This Is Us to triplets at various stages of life and now being a mom to Gus and Ozzie, well, I?ve learned that as hard as you try and as good intentioned as you may be, it is impossible to ?get it right? all of the time.?
She wrapped up her candid note with a touching quote from the Pearson family matriarch.
??It?s my job to keep standing there with my arms wide open, waiting for you to maybe someday fall inside if you needed it,? she wrote. ?And if you do, I?ll love you. And if you don?t I?ll love you too ? because that?s what it means to be a parent. You?ll see one day.?
Moore enthusiastically concluded, ?And to that I say, Rebecca, I see it!?
Moore previously opened up about the shock she felt when she learned she was pregnant in a 2021 interview with Romper. She revealed at the time that she had planned to get surgery to ?fix? her ?uterus issues? and potential endometriosis before learning of her pregnancy.
?Because of this issue with my uterus, I was very hesitant to believe it and put any stock in it,? she recalled. ?I sort of was holding my breath until 12 weeks.?

After hearing her reproductive backstory, I?m so happy for Mandy. I know so many women who have had issues getting pregnant, but managed to do so despite the odds. Both of my SILs needed Clomid and my best friend went through several rounds of IVF, one of which resulted in an 11-week loss that almost broke her. She delivered to term two rounds later. If you?ve experienced difficulty getting pregnant and/or a loss, I?m so sorry. Please know that you aren?t alone.
I did love it when Mandy said, ?I?ve learned that as hard as you try and as good intentioned as you may be, it is impossible to ?get it right? all of the time.? Say it louder for the people in the back, Mandy! I try to be open with my children when I make a mistake, which is not something I saw older generations in my family do. I want them to understand that I?m human too and that I?m making the best decisions I can regarding the situation and the information I have. Some scenarios may repeat but as they get older, there will be new ones that we?re all figuring out together. I think thats the one thing to take away from life in general, that were all in this together.

| Mandy Moore on canceling her tour while pregnant: I felt like a shell of myself | Added 884 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Mandy Moore is expecting her second son with husband Taylor Goldsmith. Their first child, Gus, is 1 . Mandy worked on her show This Is Us right up until the end of that pregnancy. And if you remember, she had a pretty difficult start to her pregnancy with Gus, with severe food aversions and being sick all day long. I bring this up because Mandy didn?t know she was pregnant with #2 when she planned her tour to promote her album In Real Life. It was her first tour in 15 years and obviously, her first tour after becoming a mom. When she learned she was pregnant, she figured she?d worked through the first pregnancy so how hard could a tour be? So, so much harder. Juggling a toddler on a tour bus while pregnant during a rigorous tour schedule proved too much. On June 30th, Mandy made the difficult decision to cancel her remaining dates. Although it crushed her to do so, she was making the decision for her health and the health of her baby. And her OB couldn?t have been happier.
Mandy Moore had a plan: Following the series finale of ?This Is Us,? she would hit the road to promote her new album, ?In Real Life.?
?I didn?t know I was pregnant when we planned the tour,? Moore, 38, told TODAY Parents.
But the actor, who shares 17-month-old son, Augustus ?Gus,? with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, figured she could ?power through.? After all, she was still filming scenes for This Is Us while in her third trimester with Gus.
?As it turns out, being on a set is worlds away from being on a tour bus,? Moore revealed. ?It was like trying to sleep on a wooden rollercoaster. Gus would be standing up in his Pack N? Play while the bus was shaking ? and I was like, ?No, no, no. We can?t do this anymore.?
Moore and her band were running on just a few hours sleep.
I was scared I was going to adversely affect my [unborn] baby and his growth, she said.
On June 30, the star, who will welcome her second child, a boy, in October, announced that she was canceling her remaining show dates to focus on her health. Moore said she was heartbroken.
?I foolishly thought ?if I did it before, I can do it again,?? Moore explained. ?But every pregnancy is different. This time, I was caring for a toddler. I was walking around feeling like an absolute shell of myself.
Moore said she felt as if she was letting everyone down ? including herself. The singer, who is known for her pop albums in the ?90s, hadn?t toured in 15 years. Performing in front of a live audience again was electrifying.
?I?d been looking forward to this for a decade and half,? Moore shared. ?But ultimately, nothing trumps your health, and the health of your baby.?
Moore said her OB-GYN was very relieved that she decided to come home.
?She was like, ?I know you?re a tough cookie like me, but you?re just gonna rest now, OK???
[From TODAY]
I understand why Mandy went ahead with the tour even after she found out she was pregnant. She was so looking forward to touring again and she had worked through the first. But yeah, TV sets and album tours are apples and oranges. A lot of celebs choose TV because of the regularity of the schedule. I could not imagine the chaos of trying to swing performing across country with my family in tow while I was gestating. My gawd, it sounds exhausting. I?m also glad Mandy chose her health over her obligation. I know she feels bad and will make it up to everyone who missed her this time around. A true fan will understand why she had to cancel too. You can?t risk that level of exhaustion while pregnant. You shouldn?t risk it any time, but especially not when you have a life depending on you.
Mandy also told TODAY that her on-screen daughter Chrissy Metz was at her last concert in Nashville and that really meant a lot to her. Apparently, Mandy and Chrissy have formed quite a bond. It sounds like everyone on that show did, which is sweet given the subject matter. Speaking of This Is Us, they were generally ignored by the Emmys this year. Both Chrissy and Mandy commented on the snub by saying the Emmys kind of blew it with the show?s best season yet. I stopped watching it in season one, was the final season the best?

This is my last Emmys post of the day! Im out of practice covering these big awards shows. This past week has been a lot but I should not complain about my cush job covering entertainment news and fashion. First off we have Mandy Moore looking pretty but a bit staid in this Caroline Herrera gown. Now that Im seeing it on her Instagram I like it more than I did on the carpet though. The top is kind of standard spaghetti strap fitted bust but it has a pencil skirt that flares out into a tulle back. Thats so clever and I appreciate that feature a lot. I would have liked to see her do something different with her hair but thats a minor complaint.
Sarah Paulson was also in red Carolina Herrera, in a voluminous v-neck empire waist gown with balloon sleeves. Sarah wasnt nominated this year, she was there as a presenter. Im kind of divided on this dress. I like how bold it is, but it looks like so many other giant dresses weve seen before.

| Mandy Moore: A publication canceled an interview when I wouldn't rehash my abuse | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In 2019, the NY Times did an expos on Ryan Adams in which his ex-wife Mandy Moore and several other women spoke on the record about his years of creepy, manipulative, domineering behavior towards women. Mandy spoke about how he emotionally abused her for years and stunted her music and acting career, and other women detailed how he would manipulate and groom them especially when they were quite young and then string them along and dominate them. Again, this was 2019. Mandy had been divorced from him for four years at that point and she only looked back to tell her story and back up his other victims. Since then, she has said a few times that she doesn?t want to keep revisiting it because (as she rightly concluded) Ryan gets off on being talked about. Two years after the NYT expos, another publication contacted Mandy for an interview, but only if she would rehash all of that sh-t again. When she told them no, they pulled their interview request. I can?t believe sh-t like this is still happening.
Mandy Moore has said all she?ll say about ex-husband Ryan Adams. On Tuesday, the ?This is Us? star revealed on her Instagram Stories that she is furious that an unnamed publication wouldn?t interview her unless she delved ?a certain subject? ? which seemed to be her allegedly abusive relationship with the rocker. Moore, 36, said that her ?blood is still boiling? that she was asked yet again about the matter.
?When they (the publication) were told that I had spoken plenty about a certain subject in my life and would have no further comment (truly there are countless interviews they could pull from, that story is over and there?s nothing more to say.),? she wrote.
?Any comment I make about said experience becomes clickbait and gives them the energy and time they seek and have already stolen from too many for too long,? Moore continued.
The ?Candy? singer noted that she has been working in showbiz for over two decades, ?but the message this sends is insulting and so out of touch with the cultural discussion around abusive relationships, directly linking someone?s value back to their abuser. The refusal to interview someone unless they agree to relieve that trauma publicly? No thank you,? she added.
Moore and Adams were married from 2009 to 2016. In 2019, Adams, 46 was accused of emotional abuse or sexual misconduct by seven women including Moore in an explosive expos in the New York Times. Afterwards Moore said she had no regrets about opening up about the alleged abuse.
?Speaking your truth can be painful and triggering but it?s always worth it,? she wrote on Instagram. ?My heart is with all women who have suffered any sort of trauma or abuse. You are seen and heard.?
[From Page Six]
I am very curious about which media outlet did this. Considering it really was the two-year anniversary of the NYT expos, I kind of wonder if it was the Times. It could have been another outlet though, just looking to say something about the anniversary. What?s so fking strange is that Mandy is currently promoting the fifth season of This Is Us, likely for sweeps (is that still a thing?). She literally has stuff to promote, but media outlets won?t talk to her about her art, at least not unless she?ll constantly relive and rehash her trauma? No. That?s not the way this happens, at all. Especially since she?s been pretty clear and explicit for two years that she has no interest in uttering that man?s name or constantly talking about him in the press. This is an extension of Ryan?s abuse, via media proxy.

| Mandy Moore on pregnancy: 'I don't know how women do it. I was sick all day long' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Mandy Moore is expecting her first child, a baby boy, with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith. Like most parents-to-be, Mandy is very excited for her new addition, although the pregnancy didn?t quite kick off as smoothly as she?d hoped. When last we heard from Mandy, she was really struggling with food aversions, Fortunately, it sounds like those are starting to go away and things are looking up for the mom-to be. However, looking back on those long, foul days, Mandy doesn?t know how women get through them.
Mandy Moore had a rough start to her pregnancy.
While sitting down for The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM radio, the actress, 36, opened up about her time self-isolating amid the coronavirus pandemic and her early pregnancy with her first child, a baby boy.
I am with child. Im due early next year I feel very lucky, the This Is Us star said.
I was really sick in the beginning ? super sick, Moore explained. But I was home, so I didn?t have to miss out on work. I don?t know how women do it. I literally woke up and was sick all day long. I couldn?t eat, I lost a bunch of weight. I just stayed in bed all day, but I know that?s not the case for everybody, that it sometimes can persevere for the entire pregnancy.
So, I?m lucky that that kind of trailed off and I feel much better now, she added. But beyond that, I feel like I have my energy back, I?m feeling good.
[From People]
I mentioned the last time Mandy spoke about this, I didn?t have any sickness during pregnancy. I am so grateful for that. I know there is a lot of information out there about how well the body nourishes the baby even when the mom is struggling with morning sickness, but it would freak me out. Not to mention, pregnancy is uncomfortable anyway, being constantly sick on top of that, yikes! So I am happy to hear that Mandy is back on her feet and feeling better. Yes, she is lucky that she had the ability to sit home and feel like crap? if one can feel lucky about that.
As for how women do it, she must means women who do not have the luxury of staying home in bed while sick during pregnancy. Because the kind of sick Mandy?s talking about is vomiting when upright, right? I swear, the more I hear about other women?s pregnancies, the more grateful I am for mine. Mandy also said they will try to hide her pregnancy on This Is Us with the usual ?carrying laundry baskets and oversized purses? and probably standing behind ferns and chairs. It?s comical when they try that, you can always tell. Pregnancy affects the whole body, not just the stomach. The best was Brooklyn 99 when they had Amy fake a pregnancy in jail to hide her real-life pregnancy. Oh well, it?s always entertaining to watch them try. The important part is Mandy is feeling better and can finally start enjoying being pregnant.

Mandy Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, just announced they were expecting their first baby. Congratulations to Mandy and Taylor! It?s funny, I?m so used to Mandy being discussed as The Mom because of This Is Us, it took me a minute to realize this was her first kid. Unfortunately, Mandy recently posted to her Instagram stories that her first 15 weeks of pregnancy have been tough, specifically because of her food aversions.
Mandy Moore is opening up about some of the not-so-fun parts of her pregnancy.
Three days after the singer and This Is Us actress revealed that she and husband Taylor Goldsmith are expecting their first child together, she shared with fans on her Instagram Story that shed experienced a tough first 15 weeks of her pregnancy, including various food aversions.
First, Moore, 36, said coffee was one of her major food aversions ? and while it made her sad, she was relieved to hear from others that they had experienced the same thing during pregnancy and called it a small price to pay to be expecting her son on the way.
Coffees not the only one. I dont know about you, but I had the worst food aversions. I still cant think about some things or look at them in the fridge, she continued. I had a really tough, like, first 15 weeks, Id say.
And poor Taylor. I was like, Can you go outside and eat? I cant look at food, I cant smell food, I cant think about food, Moore recalled.
[From People]
Food aversion, for anyone that doesn?t know, is basically the opposite of pregnancy cravings. It?s when the sight, smell or sometimes thought of a certain food item makes a pregnant woman sick to her stomach. In more extreme cases, like the scenario Mandy described, the woman can?t be anywhere near the food item, which leads to other family members sneaking around just to eat their lunch. They are, like most pregnancy issues, a result of extra hormones. I don?t remember having any food aversions, I definitely didn?t have an issue with coffee, which is a common aversion with pregnant women. But I didn?t really have cravings either. The only craving I developed was for flavored sparkling water. I do remember everything being amplified so much during pregnancy, so I?ll bet food aversions are miserable. My understanding is that one of the biggest issues is discovering them because you?re just waddling along, minding your own business when all of a sudden, the sight of someone eating a sandwich makes you want to hurl. I had one friend who walked into the room and smacked a hot dog out of her husband?s hand to all of our surprise. She had no idea it was an issue until she caught a whiff of it and then could not be around it a second longer. Remembering the look on her husband?s face still makes me giggle.
Other than the food issues, Mandy seems healthy and incredibly happy. I?m thrilled, a solid and happy home life has been long in coming for Mandy. Taylor and Mandy let us know in the announcement they are expecting a boy. If she?s just over 15 weeks, then the baby should be here end of February-ish. The fact that she?s just finished her first trimester might also give her a break from her food aversions. I hope so, nobody should have to live without coffee.

As we discussed last week, Mandy Moore has just released her first album in over a decade called Silver Landings. To promote the album and upcoming tour, Mandy appeared on Ellen DeGeneres?s talk show to discuss her very musical family. As some of you may know, Mandy?s husband, Taylor Goldsmith, is a musician in his own right and helped Mandy write the songs for Silver Landings. But did you know that Mandy and Taylor also have another chanteur in their brood? Their cat Figaro. Apparently, every time Mandy or Taylor start playing an instrument or singing, Figaro, even if he?s napping, will join in. Mandy even brought a clip to show off Figaro?s pipes (1:50 mark)
[From YouTube via Just Jared]
What Mandy said was, that Fig, ne Addison, began his vocal career after Mandy consulted a pet psychic who told Mandy to change the cat?s name.
As you mentioned, your husband is a musician. To be a singer and then to be married to a singer, y?all must just sing around the house.
It?s pretty dreamy, yeah. He?s always playing the piano or playing guitar and we have a house full of animals. We have two dogs and three cats. And I believe one of the last times I was on the show, we talked about Fig, our cat who had to have his name changed because he was freaking out ? it?s a very long story: we talked to a pet psychic, she told us we had to change his name to Figaro and truly, any time I start singing or Taylor starts singing, especially when we harmonize, he could be on the other side of the house fast asleep and it?s like, suddenly he?s up on the piano with us. And he sings! I mean, he meows, but?
Wait, I?m really confused, though. You changed the name, and that, plus the singing, the meowing happened. Now, cats just meow for a living, that?s just what they do. It was not meowing before?
No, not like vocal like this.
I?m still a little more hung up on the ?I went to a pet psychic? part of this story. As Mandy said, back in 2016, Mandy told Ellen the story. When Mandy was in the process of moving, presumably out of her ex-husband?s home, the cat, who had been named Addison by her ex, was not doing well. It was crying all night and after trying everything she could think of, Mandy remembered a friend of hers who?d taken their dog to a pet psychic. Desperate to help her kitty, Mandy called the same pet psychic who, over the phone, told Mandy the cat hated its name, that Mandy needed to rename him to Figaro and that he was ?crying all night? because he loved the acoustics and wanted to hear himself sing. According to Mandy, as soon as they started calling the cat by his chosen name, Figaro, the crying stopped. Not to nitpick a pet psychic story of an over-the-phone diagnosis, but if the cat was crying at night to hear himself sing, why would it stop just because he finally got his stage name? Honestly, I fully accept a pet picking their own name, but was Fig wailing at night a hint as to what the problem was? Because I would have assumed, once he reemerged as La Figaro, he?d ramp his singing up tenfold, like, ?now I can truly live my best life!? type caterwauling.
However, the point is that Fig is happy. And I love that he?s taking up the family business. But and let?s just keep this between us, no need to rain on Mandy?s parade ? that is what cats do. YouTube has many examples of cats schooling their humans on how to sell a song. Kate Beckinsale?s cat duets with her as well. Some of the best conversations I?ve ever had were with my cats. My dogs are great listeners, for sure, but if I want a proper dialogue, I?ll look for a cat.
Later in the show, Mandy and Taylor performed Save a Little for Yourself from Mandy?s album. I really like Mandy and I want much success for her but, I don?t know. I haven?t found that song that I want on loop yet.
