Gwyneth Paltrow?s Goop has a new product: a Goop-branded vibrator. It?s already sold out, which is basically why Gwyneth spoke to the NY Times a few days ago. The interview was supposed to be Gwyneth shilling for the new Goopbrator, but she ended up bragging about how she?s always ahead of the curve on everything. Nevermind the extensive documentation vibrators and other toys have been selling out throughout the pandemic because people are stuck at home. Which would mean that Gwyneth is riding a wave, yet again, but she always believes she?s setting the trend. Let?s see if that comes up again in this NY Times piece:
What she was thinking with the Goopbrator design: ?I think we were just trying to do something ? perhaps a little more intellectual.?
New hobbies during the pandemic: ?I wouldn?t say that I developed new ones, but I?ve definitely recommitted or doubled down on some, like meditation. I do that every morning. Before, it was maybe once every couple of weeks, or maybe not at all. Also, I?m cooking all the time, like everybody else in the world.
Playing Patient Zero in Contagion: ?I remember being on set and people saying, ?This could really happen, and this will happen in our lifetime.?
Posting an Instagram in February 2020 where she wore a mask: ?This is a familiar pattern in my life. I do something early, everyone is like, ?What is she doing? She?s insane.? And then it?s adopted by the culture. I had to take this trip to France when it was all kicking off. I wore it on the plane, but I didn?t wear it to the function that I was going to, and actually ended up getting Covid and coming home, and being one of the first people that I had heard of to have it.
Whether she plans to take the vaccine: ?I still have antibodies. I want everybody else who isn?t protected to go first.
Having to pay out $145K for making dubious and false health claims: ?That was stuff that happened a number of years ago when we were still a little company curating and buying third-party brands that were making claims around their products. We?ve come a really long way from being that small start-up. Even with the Yoni eggs. That was really around claims, but it didn?t involve the product. That egg is not dangerous. We still sell it.

My God, she?s such a douche. Shrugging off her site?s consistent pseudoscience as ?that happened a number of years ago,? like she doesn?t still host Wellness events where speakers suggest that their stickers cure cancer. And the thing about masks? once again, Gwyneth appropriates something Asian and pretends that she invented it. She did it with yoga, Korean skin care, Yoni eggs and now public mask-wearing. Japanese people and Korean people have been huge mask-wearers for years, even before the Covid pandemic. We don?t talk about that enough, how she steals Asian cultures, puts her white-woman branding on it and acts like she invented everything.

One of the things I?ve always liked about Drew Barrymore is that she?s always owned her particular look and she?s always just flatly assumed that everyone thinks she?s cute. She?s never seemed angsty or doubtful about her looks, and she?s never tortured herself about self-acceptance. She?s always been rather ?I?ll come as I am, because I?m adorable.? It?s a great way to approach life, honestly. So it?s not surprising to me that Drew has never had plastic surgery. I would be surprised if it even occurred to her to alter her looks.
Never been nipped. Despite being famous for most of her life, Drew Barrymore revealed on Wednesday that she?s never had plastic surgery, instead choosing to age naturally ? for now, at least.
?I?ve never done anything to my face and I would like to try not to,? the 45-year-old actress said during an episode of her talk show, ?The Drew Barrymore Show,? adding, ?Never say never.?
Barrymore pointed to her personality as part of the reason she?s reluctant to go under the knife.
?The thing that I do care about and I do feel is still relevant to my life is the face. I know myself. I?m a highly addictive person. I do one injection, I?m going to look like Jocelyn Wildenstein by Friday,? she joked, referencing the socialite who?s famously spent millions on multiple cosmetic surgeries. ?I think because I?m so rebellious that I saw all of that pressure and I saw all of those women torturing themselves to look a certain way and I thought, ?You miserable people.? I just never wanted to be afraid of what life would do to me. I probably went to too many opposite extremes. Now I?m boring and safe and healthy.?
What?s more, the Flower Beauty founder said she doesn?t mind a few fine lines or gray hairs. ?We?re gonna age, things are gonna go south and it?s okay and it?s a part of life and I feel more human and more vulnerable every year of my life, but I also know how to appreciate every year more and more, too,? she concluded.

I remember a photoshoot she did in 2010, before she had kids, where she had lost some weight and she was bragging about how her cheekbones finally ?popped? in her 30s, after years of having a babyface. I remember that because there were some conversations about whether or not she had some work done, but in retrospect? yeah, I think she really just lost some weight and you could see it on her face. Drew looks like what she is: a 45-year-old woman who is ageing pretty well, with access to expensive skincare and dermatologists, but someone who doesn?t want to start tweaking because she knows she would never be able to stop.

I watched Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar over the weekend. I wasn?t going to because it?s $20 to rent, but so many people were talking it up on Twitter and I felt like turning my mind off. Oh my gawd, you guys ? it is so stupid. And I mean that in the absolute best way possible. I simply felt good when I?d finished it. Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo clearly made a movie just to crack themselves up and everyone in it came along for the ride. I?m convinced they didn?t even write a role for Damon Wayans, Jr. They just told him what day to show up and he did the rest. I have a whole new love for Jamie Dornan. I won?t recommend it at $20, but check it out when it drops to $4-$6, it?s just the right kind of silly. It?s exactly the kind of thing I would need if I had small kids and needed to mentally escape for a few hours. It sounds like Kristen needs that now that she has 15-month-old twins, Shiloh and Luna. When one is quarantined at home with small kids, you have to get pretty creative in finding ways to check out. While on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Kristen told James that her current reprieve is to sit on her curb for a bit, just to get a break.
Kristen Wiig will admittedly do whatever it takes to get even a brief break from her young twins.
While stopping by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday, the actress, 47, and her Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar costar Annie Mumolo talked about parenting during the pandemic. Wiig ? who welcomed twins with husband Avi Rothman via surrogate ? said her two babies are about 15 months old now.
How is it? Do you ever get a break? asked Corden, a dad of three.
Um, I go outside and sit on the curb sometimes, Wiig responded with a laugh. Because Im afraid, I dont wanna go on a full walk because then sometimes I feel like, Oh, I should be there. But I need to get out, so I sit on the curb. Or just walk around in the driveway and FaceTime Annie.
It feels like a vacation when you just go out the door, added Mumolo, who has a 14- and 10-year-old.
You forget, Wiig joked, a walk really helps. But then when youre in the house, youre like, I cant be saved.

I know shes kidding, but I 100% remember those days. I used to walk our Pomeranian. He had his own dog door and enough back yard to exercise given he was the size of an Ugg boot, but I leashed him up and walked him all over that neighborhood several times a day just to get away. And for those moments when I thought Id snap, I opened my altar to Elmo and let him preach from the Gospel of Good Friends to my children for 30 minutes while I stood on the back step and cried as if my hair stylist had just retired. Annie, whose kids are 10 and 14, said she?d left for James? show while the dogs and kids were running amok, and she just shut the door behind her and walked. I?ve known those days too.
James asked Kristen and Annie about Bridesmaids, which they wrote. He wanted to know if they knew it would be a hit. They told a funny story about how projections had indicated it would tank and they didn?t believe it when people told them it was taking off in the box office. I didn?t care for Bridesmaids, but I liked the cast enough that I was happy it did as well as it did. Maybe the Bridesmaids sequel could be Moms. All the characters living on the same block, and the movie is just them talking to each other as they sit on their curbs hiding from their kids.
