Ready to share their first Valentine’s Day together as a married couple, newlyweds Fergie and Josh Duhamel were spotted jetting out of LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Friday (February 13).
Doing their best to avoid paparazzi, the cute couple were dropped off in a Chevy Suburban away from the main entrance, quickly making their way inside and past the security checkpoint to board an awaiting flight to an undisclosed location.

I can easily blame Paris Hilton for three or four dozen major problems. Everything from bad extensions to global warming ? if I try hard enough, I can find some way to link it all back to Paris. But it turns out there is something Paris is legitimately responsible for ? the wave of neglect of Chihuahuas. According to California animal rescue workers, Paris popularized the dogs as trendy accessories. And vapid, stupid girls tried to copy her ? and eventually dumped the dogs when they got sick of them.
Paris Hilton has been blamed for an epidemic of abandoned Chihuahuas in California animal shelters, because she’s made toting around the pups in tiny handbags a major trend.
The hotel heiress was investigated last year after admitting she owned 17 dogs, allegedly breaking U.S. laws that ban non-breeders from having more than three per address.
Animal shelter bosses in Santa Barbara have now prohibited anyone under age 21 from adopting a miniature pup, after seeing a growing trend of young women dumping their full-grown dogs when they’re sick of caring for them.
And activists are blaming Hilton’s menagerie of tiny animals for the problem.
Chihuahua Club of America head Lynnie Bunten tells the National Enquirer, “Chihuahuas are not a toy or a fashion accessory. But because some people think they are — then realize they’re wrong — there’s a growing problem of abandoned Chihuahuas.”

Paris is really horrible when it comes to animals. She collects them like they?re accessories instead of living creatures that require food, shelter, care, and attention. She?s so empty and useless, of course she doesn?t realize there?s an important element of responsibility involved. I don?t really care for Chihuahuas ? or any purse dogs. But I?m damn sure her infamous little Tinkerbell has a lot more going on upstairs than Paris does on her best day.
People need to think carefully before they buy pets. Cute little animals grow up into something bigger and slightly less adorable. If you just like them when they?re tiny and new, it?s a bad decision. Every Easter there?s always a rash of baby chicks and bunnies that flood animal shelters after people impulsively decide to buy the cute little fuzzballs, forgetting that they require long-term care.
I used to live near Microsoft?s Redmond campus, and in the early nineties they gave their employees baby bunnies as Easter presents. A lot of people dropped them off on a grassy hill next to a nearby Azteca restaurant. Those critters multiplied at astronomical rates - even for rabbits. For years you could see them from the highway when you drove by. It?s a great example of why you need to think long and hard about buying pets, and always make sure you?re doing it for the right reasons.

It?s long been noted that the ?Grey?s Anatomy? set must be a horrible place to work. There is such an insane amount of drama going on there. And it?s Hollywood ? some drama is to be expected. But when you?ve got the most chaotic and high-strung set on the West Coast, that really says something.
On Tuesday ?Grey?s? cast mate James Pickens Jr. confirmed that both T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl are leaving the show. But now executive producer Shonda Rhimes says that?s untrue.
Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes wants to set the record straight: T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl are not leaving the show. “That was a very interesting rumor,” Rhimes said Thursday night at the 40th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles. “And it’s not true.”
Rhimes was referring to a recent comment in the press attributed to Grey’s castmember James Pickens Jr., in which he was said to be confirming the departure of Heigl and Knight. “That was absolutely taken out of context,” said Rhimes. “Things happen, and … I think rumors become fact very easily. And you know I don’t like to tell you what’s going to happen on the show ? but that is a rumor,” she emphasized.
For his part, Pickens says he meant to wish the pair well in general. “We’ve been living with these rumors for a long time,” he said before the NAACP’s awards show. “When the question was posed to me, I was more trying to congratulate Katie and T.R. on whatever they were going to do. But yeah, I don’t have any special info about it either way.”

It?s been rumored for a long time that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight have wanted off the show. Knight?s storylines are trivial filler. They are the acting equivalent of busy work. And Heigl?s storylines are just flat out stupid. I?m sorry but the ghost of her ex is following her around for multiple episodes for no reason, and then it turns out she?s sick or something but you don?t care at that point because it?s so dumb.
Even without all the reported drama and negativity on the set, I wouldn’t blame either Knight or Heigl for wanting to leave. Wearing a sandwich board promoting the local hoagie shop would probably be more creatively satisfying at this point.

A photo of a nude 20-year-old Madonna has been purchased by an anonymous European buyer for $37,500 in an auction at Christie’s. The picture was taken in 1979 when Madonna was just a poor, unemployed wannabe, and she was only paid $25 for the shoot. Though the photograph was only expected to sell for about $15,000, it has set a record price for pictures of the singer. The previous record was a photograph of the cover of her record, “True Blue,” which went for $15,000. The Christie’s auction was from the collection of Leon and Michaela Constantiner, and contained fashion and and celebrity images. Another photograph in the collection, featuring Madonna, went for $18,500.
Madonna, then known as Madonna Louise Ciccone, was a dancer trying to make ends meet when she answered a newspaper ad seeking a nude model. She may have earned as little as $25 for the 1979 photo session.
Lee Friedlander’s raw, explicit black-and-white image appeared in Playboy in 1985. Friedlander has said of the photo session that Madonna “seemed very confident, a street-wise girl. She told me she was putting a band together but half the kids that age are doing that. She was a good professional model.”
The photograph auctioned Thursday was one of six from that shoot that appeared in Playboy; the other five pictures were sold together in 2003 for $7,170.
A Herb Ritts photo of Madonna’s “True Blue” album cover, which sold for more than $15,000 in 2006, is the most expensive photograph of the singer to sell previously at auction, Christie’s said.
Another photograph of Madonna, by Helmut Newton, sold Thursday for $18,750, beating a $15,000 estimate. In that shot, also sold to Playboy in the 1980s, Madonna sports lingerie, curly blond hair and a seductive expression. A man kneels beside her.

It really is difficult to imagine Madonna as a young, inexperienced entertainer, though from the article, it sounds like she was always ready for fame. But wow - $37,500. It’s amazing to think how much people are willing to spend on pictures of celebrities. Tabloids are willing to pay millions for first looks at Brangelina’s children, though they’re expecting get most of that back through magazine sales. This “anonymous European buyer,” though, has purchased this photograph of Madonna just because it’s art. Or just because he has a thing for Madonna.
I’ve actually been to a NYC Christie’s auction because my family was selling some of my grandfather’s collections, and they’re really interesting. Bidding wars between potential purchasers are fun to watch, and I bet there was quite the purchasing competition with this photo. It got from below $15,000 all the way to $37,500 - that must have been some stiff bidding.
Wonder what Madonna will think when she finds out that her $37,500 photograph was topped by pictures of nude models in French and Italian Vogue, which sold for $242,500.

Carrie Underwood ? who I used to kinda sorta like ? made some very stupid comments about the Rihanna/Chris Brown situation. Perhaps she wasn?t thinking before she spoke and didn?t realize the implications her comments could have. But they were insensitive and insulting nonetheless. Underwood told Us Weekly that the pair were fine when they left Clive Davis? Grammy party. And then she urged everyone to withhold judgment.
Carrie Underwood saw Chris Brown and Rihanna at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala in Beverly Hills on Saturday - hours before Brown allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.
“They were fine at the Grammy party,” Underwood told Usmagazine.com Thursday at the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
“I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened,” she added. “I have no advice because, thank goodness, I’ve never been in any kind of abusive situation.”
She told Us she wishes people “would stop” spreading rumors about what led to the incident.
“You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous,” she said. “I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first.”

Here?s the problematic statement: “I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened.” We do know the basic fact that Rihanna was beaten senseless. She was bitten multiple times. She was choked into unconsciousness. She has black eyes and a split lip. This was a violent, rage-filled act. We know that happened. What Underwood is saying is that we don?t know what happened prior to that, as though there could be an explanation that would justify it. There is absolutely nothing that could have happened that excuses or explains domestic assault. And it?s not Rihanna?s job ? or any woman?s job ? to live her life walking on eggshells so she doesn?t provoke a beating from her boyfriend.
People magazine is even reporting on what Rihanna will have to do to heal from this terrible experience. And People is extraordinarily careful with what they print ? but even they?re not going to placate Chris Brown and act like this is anything other than what it is: hateful, evil, and criminal.
As Rihanna recovers from Sunday morning’s alleged beating by her boyfriend, Chris Brown, the singer will need to tend to more than her bruises. According to experts, a victim must surround herself with people who will not make her feel responsible for what happened. “Friends, family, people who will give you good and positive information and not ask questions like, ‘So, what were you doing?’ ” explains Rita Smith, executive director of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Adds Sheryl Cates, CEO of the National Domestic Violence Hotline: “I’d say to Rihanna, ‘You did not cause this.’ ”
As her physical wounds heal, Rihanna could still suffer sleeping problems, a change in eating patterns and a lack of concentration, says Smith. “She could also experience an exaggerated startle response,” says Smith. “Somebody raising their hand to say hi near her might bring a reaction.
“This is a normal response to being a victim of violence. Those things will lessen and go away, but they’ll be around for a while,” adds Smith. Joining a support group or speaking with a counselor involved in a domestic violence program can aid in healing, says Sue Else, president of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
“Feeling like there is safety net around you is going to help that,” says Else. “Feeling like you’re not in this alone ? that you didn’t do anything to cause it.”

This is good information for anyone who has been or is currently a victim of domestic violence. Rihanna is fortunate in that she is not financially dependent on Brown, so in that one respect it is easier for her to leave him. Many women are not so lucky. Hopefully she has good people around to support her ? she?s certainly got the vast majority of the public support. Her career is just going to get better ? whereas Chris Brown is going to learn a very powerful lesson. Hopefully he will learn it through the legal system ? but if not he?ll learn a lesser one through the court of public opinion ? and nonexistent CD sales.

James Gray is a nice, unimposing director of films like Little Odessa, The Yards, We Own the Night, and the soon-to-be-filmed Brad Pitt movie, The Lost City of Z. His latest film is Two Lovers, the quiet little drama starring Gwyneth ?GOOP? Paltrow and Joaquin ?Unabomber Hobo Rapper? Phoenix. James Gray is sort of terrified that he?s the one who pushed Joaquin over the edge.
Gray was giving an interview to ABC News Radio, and of course the talk turned to Joaquin?s general craziness. Is it for real? Is Joaquin doing performance art? Gray?s answer was to take the blame. Gray says that for the film, Phoenix was copying or ?stealing? bits and pieces from Gray?s life and mannerisms. Gray was even an amateur rapper, and Phoenix copies Gray?s act in the film. James Gray, the director of Joaquin Phoenix’s so-called last film Two Lovers is as confused about Phoenix’s decision to retire from film to become a hip-hop singer as everyone seems to be.
“If it is an act, it’s the most committed act I’ve ever seen in my life,” Gray tells ABC News Radio.
Now, Gray is questioning his role in Phoenix’s new direction.
“Two Lovers” features a bad freestyle rap performance by Phoenix, eerily similar to his disastrous real-life rap debut. Gray revealed to ABC Radio that Phoenix was imitating him for that scene. Gray had played some of his youthful rap stuff for the actor.
“It turns out that Joaquin is imitating me in a lot of the movie. He said, ‘I want to do that, I want to steal from that, I want to do the rap that you used to do.’ I said, ‘OK.’ And now I’m seeing him do this thing, and I feel like I’ve ruined Joaquin Phoenix for the world.”

I feel bad for this guy. I doubt Gray is at fault for whatever Joaquin is doing, and at this point, I?ve stopped feeling bad for Joaquin. I don?t think he?s crazy, I think he?s acting crazy. I don?t think he really wants to be a rapper, he wants to do some sort of ?Oh isn?t the cognitive dissonance of this so SO funny when I rap? crap. At some point, I hope someone points out to Joaquin just how big of a jackass he is, and that we?d all like to say ?Bye Good? to the bad Joaquin.

Lindsay Lohan will be taking on another horror film, receiving the lead female role in the remake of “A Nightmare On Elm Street,” the film’s producer Andrew Form confirmed.
Lindsay was very interested in the film and wanted to be involved in the remake. “We were lucky to receive a call from Jason Weinberg, Lindsay’s Manager,” Andrew explained. “We called Jason back after Wesley Strick finished the script and asked if Lindsay wanted to look at the first draft. She looked it over and loved it. She thought this was the perfect vehicle for her.”

Celebrities walked the runway at fashion week in New York today for the annual Heart Truth Red Dress Collection, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Working it for a good cause were Patricia Arquette, Susan Lucci, Amanda Bynes, Jennie Garth, Hilary Duff, and Katie Couric. 90210’s Tori Spelling looked the most like an actual, underfed model. Her arms are like toothpicks. Tori has admitted that she feels pressure to be thin, and is quoted as saying “They scrutinize you so much. You try to be the person who says, ‘Oh, I don’t care,’ but I feel the pressure.”
Compare Tori’s diminutive look to the other celebrities who look comfortable and normal-sized. I have a friend who is tiny like that and she says she’s hurt when people point it out, so maybe I should listen to her and be more compassionate toward Spelling. I’m not a fan of Spelling, though, and generally find her to be a self-absorbed twit.
Patricia Arquette is gorgeous and I love how cute Katie Couric is, she’s almost shy out there. Amanda Bynes looks incredible in that short dress.
Newsday has more details on the event as well as the designers responsible. Many of the dresses modeled will be auctioned off starting February 27 on Clothes Off Our Backs. The proceeds will go to the Foundation For National Institutes of Health.

Jessica Simpson has handled her whole ?weight gain? controversy very gracefully. Though she has seemed to suffer from some performance anxiety (and who can blame her when she?s being scrutinized like this?), she?s never fired off with any snotty comments or even directly addressed the issue. And she doesn?t need to ? it?s not like she owes anyone an explanation for her body. In fact Jess actually joked about it in a vague way during while performing at Madison Square Garden last night. She mentioned that her pants have split more than once while onstage ? which seems to have affected her wardrobe choices.

“I’ve had times when my pants split right down the middle when I bent down to reach a note,” the singer told fans, laughing. “That’s why I’m wearing a skort - not a skirt, not a short - just so they wouldn’t split.”
Although Simpson has struggled at some shows on her current tour, she seemed to be in good spirits, as she performed a 35-minute set before Rascal Flatts got on stage, New York’s Newsday reports. The paper reports she “confidently rolled out her new single ‘Pray Out Loud’ and her self-esteem anthem ‘Remember That.’”
Simpson made her first live TV appearance since her much-scrutinized weight gain on Wednesday, performing her song “Pray Out Loud” on CBS’ The Early Show. She danced around the weight issue. “Honestly, I am right where I’m supposed to be. I am so happy,” Simpson said. “Everything’s really great.”

Maybe the possibility of splitting pants explains Simpsons? unfortunate choice of pants in those infamous photographs? If nothing else, they sure look sturdy in the crotch. It?d take a whole lot to split them. I can imagine few things as mortifying as your pants splitting in front of a whole audience of people. But I?d probably be more likely to alter my movements than to change my wardrobe, if I were in Jessica?s position.
All this publicity ? which could very easily be seen as negative ? may actually be a positive for Simpson. Not only because she?s handled it with aplomb, but simply because everyone?s talking about her, and she?s about to release a new clothing line that will ?flatter every figure,” according to Simpson.
The only expanding Jessica Simpson is doing these days is to her resume.
Two weeks after enduring scrutiny for her weight gain, the singer announced she has designed a fashion line to clothe women of all shapes and sizes. “I want to create clothes that flatter every figure,” Simpson told the March issue of In Style. “I know how a dress can make you feel so frumpy. I promise mine won’t.”
The as-yet-untitled collection is the latest venture for Simpson, who’s also launched a successful shoe line. With the range in styles, the 28-year-old hopes every woman will be able to find something to her liking. “I know what flatters a woman, and trust me, I’ve been judged a lot in my life. By now I know what works if you’re curvy,” she said. “If my clothing and accessories make you feel great and let you walk proud and tall ? in big, big platform shoes ? then I’m happy.”
Simpson has not publicly responded to the criticism, but did thank fans for their support. “I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless… Stay positive, and pray out loud! I love you guys,” she said at a recent concert.

Some of her comments are a little ironic, given how unattractive her recent clothing options have been. But she has gotten a ton of press and people are paying more attention to her than ever, so it may likely end up working to her advantage. I?ve been pleasantly surprised by Simpson?s boot collection. A lot of them are really nice looking. I find most of her bags to be a bit too big and chunky, but they?re still much more stylish than anything I?d hoped for from her. I wonder what sizes her new clothing line will cover? It?d be nice if she had a full line of regular and plus sizes, since she made that statement about flattering ?every figure.? Considering all the crap she gets, I think Jessica has shown a lot of maturity and class in rising above all the negativity.

Police have launched an investigation into whether or not there’s been a past history of abuse between Chris Brown and Rihanna. For starters, detectives are looking into a alleged scratched cornea Rihanna covered up with an eye-patch at the 2008 American Music Awards.
A police source told The Sun: ‘We?re investigating if her eye injury could have been caused by Brown.
?There could be an innocent explanation - but police believe Rihanna has previously refused to make a complaint against Brown.
She is now being asked about her past injuries and is beginning to open up about incidents in their relationship.?
?We?re talking to her friends and management, who say she?s appeared with mysterious marks or injuries before, but always refused to explain what happened.

I know I’d make out with Hugh Grant at a bar if I were single. It’s kind of surprising and oddly endearing that Hugh didn’t take either or both of the women back to his hotel with him. I picture him pushing his hair back with his palm, mumbling his apologies and kind of shuffling out of there, head down, like a character in one of his films still pining for his ex girlfriend, a lovely British heiress he can’t get off his mind despite all his acting out. He might have resorted to hired help if hadn’t learned the hard way to stay away from hookers. Maybe his brush with the law 14 years ago and the resulting public embarrassment have made him too afraid to even have one night stands with willing 20 somethings.

Madge has made a handful of semi-public appearances with the drop-dead gorgeous model, whom she met at a photo-shoot for W Magazine. A-Rod is said to be so distraught he turned to the wife he spurned for Madonna and had a fling in the Bahamas with two women who were making out in front of him at a bar.
Now there?s further evidence that Madonna and Jesus Luz are for real. Jesus is pulling the same Kabbalah-conversion stuff that Guy Ritchie and A-Rod were forced to go through to get into the Madge Vadge Motel. Jesus Luz confirmed on his website that he?s joined the religion (or ?religion?), spurning the Catholicism he was raised with. But how, you may ask, will he be able to afford the $50 Kabbalah water? Jesus?s newfound spiritual interest will raise a few eyebrows back in his native homeland ? Kabbalah is not big in Brazil. But Jesus claims not to worry about that.
In his online profile, Jesus writes: ?It is not important what others think about us. The most important thing is to have a clear conscience, even if I am condemned. We can not forget that Jesus was condemned.?

I?m giving some begrudging respect to Madonna, though. I have absolutely no idea how she got A-Rod to so publicly humiliate himself and his wife all to have a little time in the Madge Vadge Motel. I have no idea what a 22-year-old hottie would see in The Gristle, except for maybe a naive belief that it might be cool for a little while. What hidden talents does this woman have? I don’t remember hearing rumors of a potential romance between them at the time, although critics praised their on screen chemistry. There may have been more going on between them then we’re aware of, because the two were recently seen making out at a restaurant in New York, if the NY Post is to believed:
Drew Barrymore is loving being single - and available. The “He’s Just Not That Into You” star has been linked with several men recently, but had her eye on her “Music and Lyrics” co-star, Hugh Grant, Monday night. According to spies, Barrymore got very excited when the Brit walked into the Waverly Inn. “She squealed and jumped in his arms,” a spy said. The two then “made out,” but Barrymore showed up to the Beatrice Inn by herself later to hang with Clive Owen. Maybe Hugh’s just not that into her.

Page Six is reporting this, so it’s possible these two shared a lingering hello kiss which turned into a makeout session in the retelling. Grant seems to have reconciled with his longterm girlfriend, Jemima Khan, as he’s been spotted out with her recently and is even said to have booked her favorite restaurant for Valentine’s day as a surprise.
If Hugh and Drew really did make out for a while, it seems they didn’t go farther with it that night as Drew was seen out somewhere else without Hugh later. Clive Owen is happily married with children so the fact that he was hanging out with Drew doesn’t mean much. I would have liked to have heard that Hugh and Drew are an item, though. They’re both single and cute and their names even rhyme. It’s not going to happen though, they’re too different for a relationship to translate off screen.

While some people might suggest that publicly losing your cool, slobbing around with your boob hanging out and heading to rehab is a cry for attention and publicity, I’m a believer that most people who are in this situation really are out of control, and enter rehab for the right reasons.
I’m not sure where I stand on giving a tell-all interview to a tabloid about the experience. Although, to be fair, Tara Reid probably needs the pay check. She just spent 60 days in Promises, rehab center to the stars, for alcohol abuse. There were rumors that Reid was comped for the stay in order to get some publicity for Promises, a claim she denies.
On how rehab changed her life:
She tells the publication, “Rehab saved my life. Before, I used to think about tomorrow and I hated it. Now I can’t wait.”
On what was her catalyst for change, visiting the Jerusalem Western Wall:
She explains, “You write a prayer on a paper and fold it up and put it in the wall. One of the things I wished for was health and happiness and something changed inside me.
“I realized partying is not what I am anymore.”
So she canceled a trip to celebrity retreat St. Bart’s and headed to rehab instead.
She adds, “The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time (and) finally admitting that I had a problem.
On how it felt to be an alcoholic:
“I wasn’t drinking any more than my friends, so I didn’t get it. I’d think, ‘Why am I an alcoholic and she isn’t?’ The truth is, some people can drink, and some can’t. … I like alcohol but it didn’t like me.
“I numbed my feelings. It was no life to live.”

Tara now plans to stay single and focus on her career. Over the last few years her career has primarily consisted of party appearances, which she should probably give up in the interests of staying sober. She also has a clothing line.
According to her IMDB page she actually has two films in production, one of which she has what appears to be a major role, as a teenager in a murder mystery film. In the other she plays a prostitute working her way through university. This film, The Beautiful Outsiders, actually doesn’t sound too bad, although the horror film sounds like a rip-off of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Showing up to work and behaving like a professional, no matter what the quality of the production is, might be enough to make Tara a minor contender in Hollywood again.
Tara seems to have her priorities straight, taking one day at a time. “My focus is to get back in my career and stay sober, and keep on having a better life one day at a time.”

Continental Connection Flight 3407 crashed into a Buffalo, New York home late Thursday killing all 48 people on board and one person on the ground. On its way from Newark, New Jersey and 10 miles out from its destination, witnesses say they heard unusual rumbling, sputtering and other odd noises coming from the aircraft. At around 10:20 p.m., it hit a house and erupted into a fireball.
A dozen residents were evacuated while fire crews rushed to put out the fire. The NTSB is preparing to investigate the crash.
