As we discussed this weekend, Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson are happening. It upsets me. Kate, 45, and Pete, 25, were first linked together just after the Golden Globes, when they were apparently getting flirty together at a post-Globes party, and perhaps left the party together. I hoped, at the time, that it was just a one-night thing. It was not. They?re, like, a couple now. There?s still a lot of wtfery around this pairing, but People Magazine?s sources insist that Kate is all about younger guys these days because they make her feel ?good about herself.? Oh honey.
Girls just wanna have fun ? and nobody knows that better than Kate Beckinsale! On Friday, the 45-year-old actress supported Pete Davidson at his stand-up comedy show in Los Angeles. Though the pair left the venue hand-in-hand and headed back to Davidson?s Santa Monica hotel together, a source close to Beckinsale says her relationship with the Saturday Night Live star, 25, is not likely to go any further ? due in part to her failed marriage with Len Wiseman.
?Kate?s not looking to get serious with someone. She was really hurt after her marriage with Len ended,? the source told PEOPLE. ?She wants to have fun with guys and date around. She loves the attention from the younger men she dates.?
?It makes her feel good about herself too,? the insider added. ?She doesn?t care what people think.?
Davidson is not the first younger man to catch Beckinsale?s attention in the wake of her divorce with Wiseman. Over the summer, the actress was linked to 23-year-old comedian and actor Matt Rife. The duo eventually called it quits after two months of dating. Then in November 2018, Beckinsale started dating 30-year-old British actor and comedian Jack Whitehall. The pair, who have a 15-year age gap, were spotted showing some PDA at a karaoke bar in Los Angeles, partying and kissing at a candle-lit booth.

If she?s set limits for herself and she doesn?t want to get pulled into anything serious or, one would hope, pulled into the incessant drama of 20-something dating then so be it and good for her. My issue was always with the idea that Pete and Kate could be wrapping this up as a love match, and I would never be able to get on-board for that. To be clear, I appreciate that Pete has been open about his issues and about seeking help. I just think that he has too many very real issues for a woman close to my age to be like ?hey, check out my hot young stud!? There are so many younger guys who have fewer complications. I?m not saying Pete is unworthy of love at all, but I definitely feel like he might benefit more from some in-depth therapy as opposed to a pap-friendly relationship with a cougar.

Don?t get me wrong, I enjoy vintage-scandal-tinged gossip as much as the next person. Knowing the history of who slept with whom and who got pregnant and who left said pregnant lady makes for a richer gossiping experience. But also: it?s been 12 years since Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan were together. I could see that there would still be huge gossip potential if the whole pregnant-and-abandoned thing happened just a few years ago, but these days? everybody has moved on. Bridget is happily married, Tom is happily married, and everybody co-parents like adults and it?s fine. But everybody still waits to see what Bridget is going to say or tweet whenever Tom wins another Super Bowl. And this year, she kept it brief:

Update: All of these photos are old! Im sorry for the confusion about that when I first posted this story.
I know I shouldnt care, I know I should see this for the mildly amusing exes hooking up again story that it is, but I wanted Lindsay Shookus to put Ben Affleck in her rear view. The dude broke up with her by being photographed out with a 22 year-old Playboy model. You dont leave a crack for those type of guys (narcissists) to open the door again, but she did. Its not like I should be taking her side in this. She was with him for years when they were both married to other people after all. E! is reporting that these two are talking but that theyre not back together. These two broke up in August after a couple of years of hooking up when it was convenient. So I assume theyre doing that again.
Ben Affleck and his ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus are reportedly back in contact a little over 5 months after breaking up.
However, being back in contact doesnt mean theyre back together. A source told E! News, Theyve known each other for years and there have been other periods of time where they didnt speak. But they always seem to end up talking again.
Ben is in a really good place right now. Both health-wise and with his family, another source told E! News on Monday. Ben has been concentrating on being a doting father and has been spending time with his kids and Jen.

Is Ben leaking this so he doesnt look like a sad sack when Jennifer is getting super serious with Mr. restaurant robot guy? I just hope hes still sober. There were stories earlier this week that he was totally done playing Batman, but we didnt cover those because weve heard that for years. Hes been so ambivalent about that role. Thats pretty much Bens outlook ambivalence. Is it wrong that I want to see Lindsay and Ben papped out together? Ben will have a stained shirt and Lindsay will be in an artfully casual-looking pair of ripped jeans, sneakers, a little sweater and a cute jacket. I miss them together! Forget everything I wrote at the beginning of this post.

Anna Kendrick had a rough end to her January. She tweeted last week that she had just been hospitalized for kidney stones. Kidney stones are bits of minerals and salt that form into hard ?stones? inside the kidneys and work their way out in what I?ve been told is a pain on par with childbirth. What was noteworthy about Anna?s medical condition was not that she got kidney stones, 1 in 10 people will in their lifetime, but that she took the time to thank the doctors and nurses who treated her. And Anna articulated a very common problem, especially among women, that we ignore pain.
