Joined by costars Sarah Paulson and Lea Thompson, the ?Adult World? actress was the center of attention in her black frock as she smiled for the cameras.
This time around, ?American Horror Story? is centered around a traveling freak show in 1952 that has suffered a lack of interest in recent years thanks to the arrival of the television.
?Freak Show? will hit the airwaves with a special 90-minute Season Premiere on October 8th, so mark your calendar!

The first on-set photos of Emma Watson from her new movie, the period piece Colonia, were released online. The images featuring the Harry Potter actress in costume, taken this past Friday in Luxembourg.
Principal photography is about to begin on the thriller that has Emma Watson opposite Bruhl in a tale inspired by true events. They play a young couple who become entangled in the Chilean military coup of 1973. Daniel (Bruhl) is abducted by Pinochet?s secret police and Lena (Watson) tracks him to a sealed-off area in the south of the country called Colonia Dignidad. The Colonia presents itself as a charitable mission run by a lay preacher, but is in fact a place from which no one has ever escaped. In order to find her beloved, Lena decides to join the cult.

When she?s not drunk as hell or in some kind of weird trance, Mariah Carey has an amazing voice. Or should I say ?had?? Mariah has started her new tour, The Elusive Chanteuse Tour (I?m not joking, it?s really called that) and her first show was in Toyko, Japan. Just know that Mariah has so many Japanese fans. Like, they worship her. They adore her. They will buy anything Mariah is selling. So if the Japanese fans are throwing shade at Mariah, that means there are big problems. What problems? Mostly with her voice, it seems.
Mariah Carey gave her all ? but for some fans, her all wasn’t enough. As seen in numerous YouTube videos circulating online, the “#Beautiful” singer struggled to reach some of her usual high notes during the launch of her Elusive Chanteuse Show tour in Tokyo, Japan, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The songstress appears to have had trouble with the vocals for hits including “Hero” and “Vision of Love.” At one point during the latter, she opted to speak-sing the lyrics after failing to hit her mark; other videos show her struggling with the microphone stand during “We Belong Together.” Fans panned her performance online, posting videos with titles like “Vision of love?” and “Mariah Carey Vocal Malfunction.” Others shared their critique in the comments section of the clips, writing, “This is beyond disappointing,” and “This is like watching a bird with a broken wing trying to fly.”
Another fan said it was natural for her voice to have changed since she first sang “Vision of Love” in 1990. “It’s OK. She’s human…You’re human, you’re not supernatural,” user ilyas aksabaev wrote. “I’ve seen other videos of this tour and they are great. One small part does not mean she did bad. She did great overall.”

I?m including one of the videos below. My take? It?s not that Mariah cannot hit the high notes or sing her heart out ? it?s that she?s not really trying to hit the notes. I blame the bad performance on laziness more than inability to sing. I also think that this tour might just be a shameless money-grab because? well, it?s not like the album did well. It?s not like people were clamoring for a new Mimi tour. It?s just the die-hard fans supporting her now and it seems like they might be turning on her.

She?s always prided herself on her flawless vocal abilities, so when Mariah Carey failed to hit many of her notes while performing in Japan on Saturday (October 4), fans were a bit troubled.
The ?We Belong Together? singer kicked off her Elusive Chanteuse World Tour in Tokyo and after the gig a slew of spectators took to Twitter to express their dismay over her lackluster singing.
One fan wrote, ?It's a wrap for Mariah Carey's singing career. You're a legend. Time to retire. She can't sing anymore. At all. What happened??
Another attendee tweeted, ?Y'all. Mariah Carey really can't sing anymore. That was hard to listen to. I see why Mariah Carey never sings live anymore. That's why. Mariah Carey should've bowed out right when her voice was giving out. Save herself the embarrassment. I knew it was something wrong with MC though. No artist lip syncs at EVERY show.?
Perhaps Carey?s singing snafu is the direct result of her divorce from Nick Cannon, as they announced earlier this year that they?d decided to split up.

According to Fashionista, Lisa Gersh has accepted the position after leaving Martha Stewart Living, hoping to step things up on the business front.
Gersh explained, "The brand is established, but the business is a startup. I think that people will be surprised as they spend more time on our site, in terms of the attainability of the products we're recommending.?
As for what we can expect, Goop will continue to put out designer capsule collections, branch out into advertising and even has a namesake label in the works.

I think The Daily Mail was the first outlet to report this ? apparently, George Clooney has bought a ?multi-million-pound riverside home for his new bride Amal Alamuddin? in England. According to the Mail?s sources, Amal and George are currently staying at this new Oxfordshire mansion and have been there since their Venice wedding ended. O RLY? Don?t get me wrong, I actually believe that George bought a huge English mansion for Amal, but I doubt that they are currently staying there. Still, Us Weekly says it?s true:
Newlyweds George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have skipped the traditional far-flung honeymoon destination, opting to take their two-week break in England instead! The happy couple, who became husband and wife during a lavish, weekend-long wedding celebration in Venice, Italy on Saturday, Sept. 27, bought their new home in the British county of Berkshire, two months ago. And rather than jet off for some honeymoon luxury, the newly married couple have chosen to hole themselves away in their new English mansion, and spend two weeks together in complete isolation.
“They wanted a simple break,” a source told Us Weekly, “Just somewhere to enjoy time together with no interruptions.”
And their new home proved the perfect option. Set back from the road, in the remote British countryside, their house is said to be luxurious, well decorated and super-private. It’s located close to a train station so lawyer Alamuddin can commute easily into her office for work, which she plans to continue as soon as her honeymoon is over.
“It?s just George and Amal at the house at the moment,” the source continued, adding that even Alamuddin’s family haven’t been to visit. And the duo haven’t yet hired a live-in chef, although they’re not going as far as cooking for themselves.
“A small private catering company delivers their meals every day,” the source said. The couple are expected to return to work, and normal life, next week.

So maybe it?s true? Maybe they?re in seclusion in the English countryside, just like Duchess Kate and Prince William? The Mail also said that the mansion includes a fancy spa and a home theatre. A source told The Mail: ?It was Amal who first set eyes on the place. It?s her dream location. She was torn between Oxfordshire and Kent but ultimately chose Oxfordshire because she felt most at home there. She first fell in love with it during her days there at university.? George Clooney? English country squire? Or here?s one even better? George Clooney: International Man of the World and Nobel Peace Prize Winner?
He’s won Oscars and nabbed Golden Globes. Heck, he’s even taken home the MTV Movie Award for best breakthrough performance in 1996 for From Dusk Till Dawn. So what accolades are up next for George Clooney? Perhaps a Nobel Peace Prize.
At least that’s what his close friend John Lambros predicted, maybe only half-jokingly, for the actor ? and his barrister bride, Amal Alamuddin ? during a heartfelt speech at the couple’s Sept. 27 wedding ceremony.
Given their common passion for human rights causes, Lambros said, “Okay, I am projecting, but I am also making that call public tonight ? perhaps the first husband-and-wife team to win the [Nobel] Prize for Peace.”
Lambros, who joined three others in delivering speeches during the moving ceremony, also underscored how crucial friendship is to the deeply loyal Clooney. Despite his success and global celebrity, “the friend we have known as George for years has not changed as a friend one bit,” said Lambros, who joked that the actor is so loyal that 20 years “affords me the friend status of rookie. It is more a function of how deeply, how honestly and how genuinely George both cares for and enjoys the people in his life, and how much he values friendship.”
Toward the end of his speech, Lambros turned to Alamuddin and expressed his gratitude.
“To say we, George’s friends, have been waiting for you, Amal, for a while is another enormous understatement,” he said, before quoting from a George Eliot passage. ” ‘And when a man has seen a woman whom he would have chosen if he had intended to marry speedily, his remaining a bachelor will always depend on her resolution rather than his.’ ”

Sure, it was a ?joke?. Personally, I don?t see how Amal helps Clooney run for governor of California or a Senate seat or anything like that, but I can see how Amal helps boost Clooney?s credibility as a citizen of the world/international man of mystery. I could see George going for some kind of UN appointment (even though he recently resigned his Messenger of Peace role for the UN). But Peace Prize? Nope. That won?t happen.

I saw Gone Girl over the weekend, like many American adults. Gone Girl unexpectedly won the box office this weekend, getting $38 million in ticket sales from the over-18 crowd. Actually, most analysts believe that Gone Girl?s audience was over 25 years old, which makes sense. It?s a dark thriller about violence and ennui in the suburbs and it was very much a hard-R rating, with profanity, nudity and gore galore.
SPOILERS BELOW.
First, what I really liked: I loved everything with Rosamund Pike. She was pitch-perfect of the two versions of Amy, the first half of Amy from her diary and then the ?real? Amy. She was just great, playing at sympathetic and then turning on a dime to be as cold as ice. I wanted more Rosamund. I also enjoyed Carrie Coon as Nick?s twin sister. She was basically perfect in the role. Neil Patrick Harris could have easily been creepier, but he was wonderful in his role too. As for Tyler Perry?s turn as Nick?s lawyer? he was great. Seriously.
What I had mixed feelings about: Ben Affleck and how he dominated the story. Reading the book, Amy haunts the first half, an eerie specter watching over the events with her diary. The second half should have been full-on Amy too, where we see the real girl. But Nick Dunne was too busy telling his side of the story, and the whole film felt lop-sided because of it. Which isn?t to say that the Batfleck was bad. I only had a problem with him at the very beginning, when he felt miscast (to me), but then I was absorbed in the story and he did pretty well. At the end of the day, I still think he was miscast though? Nick needed to be younger than Amy and it threw off the whole marriage dynamic in the film. But Affleck should be proud of his work.
So, the question has already come up: will Gone Girl win any awards? Will it be rewarded with Oscar buzz? I thought Rosamund was perfect, as I said, but I think her potential Best Actress campaign will be hampered by the fact that it?s not Amy?s movie, it?s Nick?s movie. At an Oscar screening over the weekend, many Oscar voters felt the same way. The LA Times reports that while people enjoyed the film, no one is really buzzing about Rosamund:
Academy members we spoke to were fairly equally divided between devotees of the novel and those who came to the movie without any existing knowledge of the story — as much as that is possible given the scrutiny the film has received since premiering at the New York Film Festival last week.
“I didn?t want to know anything about the movie before I saw it, but I kept hearing people talking about Ben Affleck?s penis,” one academy member, a screenwriter, said. “Now I know why. It?s a more fully realized character here than the one Pike plays.”
That complaint was echoed by multiple academy members who had read the book and came away dissatisfied with the character balance in the adaptation.
“It probably couldn’t be helped,” one voter said, “because of the way the book alternates between her story and his. The movie, it’s mostly Affleck. You don’t hear enough of her voice, and it throws the whole thing off.”
“Gone Girl” screened for New York-based academy members Tuesday, with star Rosamund Pike interviewed afterward. There was no Q&A following Saturday’s screening at the Goldwyn. The audience clapped when the closing credits began to roll, but there was no applause when they finished. Contrasted to most movies that go on to win a best picture nomination, it was a rather subdued reaction, particularly given the buzz that was in the room when the film began.

The LAT goes on to quote people saying that they admired Fincher?s faithful adaptation (and seriously, a lot of the book ended up on the screen) and technical skill, but it?s just not a film you ?love? and want to root for come awards season.
Two more notes and yes these are spoiler-y too. I missed seeing Desi?s mom. Her character was didn?t make it into the script and that was one of the characters from the book I really missed. And finally, everybody is talking about the ending, but really? it ended similarly to the book. With a whimper, not a bang. Unsettled but not terrified.

According to Lively?s website Preserve, she?s pregnant with her first child as she shared a photo of her own baby bump taken by her brother Eric Lively.
Blake?s Preserve Celebration of Family post highlighted ?that special moment at the creation of family,? and congratulated ?all the expecting mothers out there.?
Lively told the September 2014 issue of Marie Claire magazine, ?I gotta get started [having children]. If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.?
Back in 2013, Reynolds explained, "We'd love to have a big family. We both come from big families -- my parents did four, Blake?s did five. A lot of people say it?s crazy, but we?ll only know when we?re there, you know? We?ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think."

Last week, we heard that LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were being sued by their former housekeeper. The housekeeper, Gloria Cevallos, claims that their home was a hostile work environment, a hotbed of ageism and racism, and that she was subjected to discrimination and verbal abuse by LeAnn and Eddie?s employees and family members. I was kind of meh on the story because? I don?t know, I?ll criticize LeAnn and Eddie for many things, but it seemed more than reasonable that this woman was just looking for a quick payout. I suggested that they throw a small amount of money at her to get her to go away. But they aren?t taking my advice. LeAnn sent this tweet to TMZ:

Taylor Swift covers the new issue of FASHION Magazine (Canada). It?s a decent shoot, but that?s mostly because I love some good coat p0rn. There?s a chill in the air and I want that light grey-ish coat!! Anyway, Swifty is promoting her new album, 1989, and she?s still giving pretty decent interviews. Some highlights from the FASHION article:
On poetic justice: ?I feel like writing a song is sort of the last piece of the puzzle of solving whatever mystery I?m trying to solve emotionally. Things that kind of torture and haunt me a little bit are usually put to rest when I figure out a way to say it in a song. There?s a strange, eerie form of justice that happens when someone treats you terribly, you write a song about it, and that song ends up playing all over the world. You know at some point they?ve heard it in the grocery store, and they can?t escape.?
On being emotionally vulnerable: ?As a songwriter you have to open yourself up over and over again to pain and rejection ? and doing that at the stage my career is in, the stakes are pretty high. So if you get your heart broken, you get your heart broken on the cover of magazines that are all over the world. But I think that it?s important to continue to live your life, and not be guarded or standoffish or keep people at a distance.?
On her changing values: ?When I was in my late teens and early twenties, I was just fascinated by romance. I think now the most important thing to me is the opinions of the sisterhood of friends that I have now ? I think that my girlfriends have been what has shaped me more in the past year and a half than any other factor.?
On girlfriends versus sycophants: “Celebrities surround themselves with people who don’t know what they want and only have you to validate their lives?that’s not interesting to me. You should not be threatened by women who are pretty and charismatic and good at what they do?my girlfriends have shaped me more in the past year and a half than any other factor. I’ve never had more friends who I trust and can rely on, but there’s always a bit of your self-perception that’s frozen in junior high, when you trained yourself to not feel cool. You’ll never really feel like you’re part of the ?in’ crowd, but growing up means that matters to you less and less every day.”
Why she sings blind-item songs: ?You have to give emotion in order to evoke emotion in people. What I see cutting through are singers who give details and insights about their lives, because people feel appreciative that you?ve trusted them with that information. Being revealing can present itself in different ways?I?ve chosen to do it emotionally because that feels more natural to me.?

Do you believe her? I think she gives some seemingly reasonable and well-explained justifications for why she sings her blind-item songs and why she slammed so many of her exes musically. But here?s the part that I don?t really understand: ?there’s always a bit of your self-perception that’s frozen in junior high, when you trained yourself to not feel cool.? There?s a lot wrong with that statement, and she?s throwing it out there like it?s a universal experience. No, Taylor, many of us are not stuck in the junior high mindset of coolness rankings. And I really don?t get ?when you trained yourself to not feel cool.? As in? she?s always been cool but in junior high she trained herself to not feel cool and now she?s returning to her coolness? Good lord. This whole conversation about coolness is so middle school.
Also: “You should not be threatened by women who are pretty and charismatic and good at what they do.” Good advice, Swifty. Now let’s see you follow it. Lyrically and in real life.

Blake Lively is knocked up! YAY. Blake announced the news on Preserve, her ?artisanal? and unique site, but she couldn?t just write ?I?m pregnant, y?all.? First she wrote a poem about family and then she posted a million photos of pregnant women and the last photo was this ^^ pic that I?m using as a header photo. Blake?s bump is sizeable ? easily second trimester, right? This is the crap about family on Preserve:
Preserve at its core is about family.
Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on.
We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don?t have anything for the new.
With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all?to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.
Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby?s souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all.
We had too much fun with this. Because there?s so much to share, we break up our first ever Preserve Celebration into multiple parts. In the upcoming days we will bring even more treats and fun. I was actually surprised that she didn?t get knocked up sooner, but there were rumors that she might have had some fertility issues. So, this will be Blake and Ryan?s first kid. I?m happy for them ? God, Megan! She was such a naturally pretty girl but I really need her to stop messing with her face. It?s crazy. Something nice: her newish haircut looks awesome. This is her best hair in years. As for TMNT, it?s a massive hit already and it hasn?t even opened wide all around the world. Megan Fox is back, y?all.
Now that Megan is ?back,? we?re obviously going to be reading more classic Megan Fox interviews. Back in her heyday (2008-10), Megan gave some of the most ridiculous interviews I?ve ever seen from a young actress. To be fair, she didn?t have a filter and it was fun to dissect her more idiotic statements. And to be fair, she seems to have grown a filter in the past few years. Motherhood chilled her out a bit, as did having her career kneecapped by her big mouth. Anyway, Megan has a new interview with Loaded Mag. Some highlights:
Her spirit guides: ”It makes it impossible to view yourself as a victim in any circumstance because you understand you chose it or it was chosen for you by spirit guides and there’s a reason for every encounter and opposition. You’re meant to benefit eventually but you have to be aware because that helps you learn the lessons so much quicker. Otherwise you’ll walk in a circle and find you meet the same types of people and make the same mistakes until you address it and transcend it.”
Does she feel self-doubt? ”At times. But it’s not part of my daily existence. Meditation is something I do to stay positive. If you stay positive with your mind then inevitably you will attract positivity and the times I’ve faced the most adversity in my life, it wasn’t actually from outside forces. It was things I brought into my own world from my own negativity.”
Being called a MILF: “I enjoy it and embrace it. I think it’s actually part of my personality, part of my essence and my being is that sort of pin-up image and I enjoy it because I know I’m not a stupid girl and I don’t have to solely rely on that. I’m aware that being clever and a pin-up makes me dangerous and I enjoy that.”
Teaching her sons about her hotness: She wants her sons to learn “sexiness doesn’t mean you’re stupid or vapid” and she explained: “I don’t want my sons to grow up and think there’s anything wrong with that [being a pin-up] or that women should be underestimated for something like that.”
Her past of saying stupid crap: “I don’t regret anything because everything I’ve been through was absolutely necessary to get me to the point where I am emotionally and spiritually.
