Adding to her already impressive list of accomplishments, Taylor Swift learned this afternoon (October 10) that she is Billboard?s 2014 Woman of the Year.
The 24-year-old is familiar with the prestigious honor as it?s the second time she?s been awarded the recognition.
Taylor is slated to receive the prize at the year?s Women in Music event, while is held at New York City?s Cipriani on Wall Street on December 12.
?As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts," Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media?s Entertainment Group, told press.
"Over the course of her career, she?s charted 60 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 -- the most of any female artist since her debut in 2006. We are tremendously excited to be honoring her as the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time."

?Miss You Already," slated to hit theaters in 2015, required Ms. Collette to shave her head in order to play a cancer patient named Milly.
Per the synopsis, ?Two longtime pals have their friendship put to the test when one begins a family and the other falls ill.?

First, let me make my big political statement: I don?t have any strong feelings about Pres. Obama fundraising for the Democratic Party and for congressional candidates. He?s worried that the Dems will lose control of the Senate, which is a very real and likely possibility. I?m worried about it too, because I think the current political situation in Washington will get even worse if the Dems lose the Senate. Just my two cents.
So, Pres. Obama is still fundraising. Last night, he attended a $32,000-a-plate fundraiser held by his long-time supporter Gwyneth Paltrow. The event was held in Goop?s LA home or, more specifically, her backyard. So far, I have no problem. But when Gwyneth tried to introduce Pres. Obama, it got a little weird.
Tongue-tied! Gwyneth Paltrow had a VIP visitor in her backyard on Thursday, Oct. 9 ? President Obama! And the Goop founder was so overwhelmed by her guest’s good looks that she struggled to give a speech. The Oscar-winning actress hosted a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in her backyard, welcoming the President and around 200 others (including Julia Roberts and Bradley Whitford) into the garden of her lavish Los Angeles home for a cocktail reception.
But when it came to addressing her guests, and in particular the President of the United States, an overwhelmed Paltrow, 42, found herself lost for words. The mom-of two told Obama, “I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest,” before praising him for being an “incredible role model.”
She went on to talk about the importance of sustainable energy sources, and to praise Obama’s support for equal pay which Paltrow (who Forbes estimates earns an amazing $19 million a year) said was, “very important to me as a working mother.”
Then, overcome with nerves, the actress stumbled a little before passing the microphone off to the President, telling him flirtatiously, “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly.?
The world leader thanked his hostess and her kids Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, for “letting us crash your house,” and then went on to use Paltrow’s children as an example of why the world must help solve the Ebola crisis in Africa.
“I want to assure everybody that the likelihood of an epidemic here in the United States is extraordinarily small,” the President said. “But there’s a humanitarian crisis that’s happening right now in West Africa where children not much older, and in some cases younger than Apple and Moses, are dying on the streets alone.”

To be fair, I think most Democrats would get all gushy and tongue-tied when they met Pres. Obama. But this kind of thing easily gets blown out of proportion ? take this TMZ story which reads like something off of Breitbart. Us Weekly didn?t even quote Gwyneth?s most ridiculous statement ? she apparently said: ?It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass.? Ugh, Goop, you?re not helping!

She loves a big crowd and Katy Perry will play to over one hundred million viewers when she takes the stage during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIX in February.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the ?I Kissed a Girl? singer has been selected for the highly-coveted gig and she even joked about it during ESPN?s College GameDay last weekend.
Perry shared, "We have had some conversations, and I would be honored, of course. But I have let them know that I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl. The ball is in their field."
One music industry agent called the NFL?s attempt to get artists to pay to play the Super Bowl ?a joke.? "Obviously it is a marketing boon to play halftime for the Super Bowl. But I hope that everybody tells them to go get stuffed."

Jennifer Lopez turned 45 years old this past July. SHE IS 45. For the love of God!!! These are photos of J.Lo leaving her gym in West Hollywood yesterday. Her abs? good God. And that?s after giving birth to twins. Even when I was at most thinnest, my most svelte and most youthful, I never had abs like that. Is it because I hate abdominal exercises? I?m sure that?s part of it, but even if I did a million crunches, I wouldn?t look like that. Is this aspirational? Or do we just look at these photos and become jelly h8rs?
Jennifer has actually lost a good 10-15 pounds over the past year. She told several media outlets that she went vegan mainly to lose weight. As an old-school J.Lo follower, I can tell you that she really doesn?t have the same ?La Guitarra? body that she used to have. I watched her ?Booty? video with Iggy Azalea ? her booty is smaller! And everything is more toned and sleek these days. Better or worse? I don?t know. But I am jealous of her abs.
By the way, Jennifer went to dinner with Casper Smart earlier this week. E! News? sources claim they?re not really back together but they?ve remained ?good friends? following their split. Do you believe that? I don?t. I think they?re back together. And I think she?s an idiot (about men) for going back to him. She knows it?s a dumb move too ? that?s why ?sources? keep insisting that they?re just friends.

Later this month, Kim will turn 34 years old, and she?ll host a swanky shindig at the Venetian?s TAO Nightclub in Las Vegas to celebrate.
Kimmy?s big birthday bash will take place on October 24th (her real birthday is the 21st) and tickets for the shindig range from $30 all the way up to $5,000 for the Platinum Package.

She?s rubbed shoulders with some of the most powerful and prestigious people in the world, and this morning (October 10) Angelina Jolie met up with Queen Elizabeth II.
The ?Changeling? actress was presented with the Insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George in a fancy ceremony held in London?s Buckingham Palace.
Jolie received the honorary damehood for her service to UK foreign policy and her continuing efforts to end war zone sexual violence.
A statement from the Palace explained, ?Ms Angelina Jolie was received by The Queen today when Her Majesty presented her with the Insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George.?

Back in June of this year, Angelina Jolie hosted the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in London. It was a high-profile event which drew wide media attention and raised awareness to vital issues like war-time rape and sexual assault in conflict zones. In the middle of the summit, the announcement came: Queen Elizabeth was anointing Angelina with a ?Dame? title. To be more specific, Angelina became an honorary Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George for extraordinary service to U.K. foreign policy. The Queen gave Angelina the title on the recommendation of William Hague. At the time, Angelina met with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and I thought that was as good as it was going to get. BUT NO. Today, Angelina went to London to receive her honorary title from the Queen.
Angelina Jolie, the Oscar-winning actress, has been made an honorary dame by the Queen for her campaigning work fighting sexual violence and for services to UK foreign policy. The film star, best known for her role in Hollywood blockbuster Tomb Raider, was presented with the award during a private audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Jolie was recognised in the Diplomatic Service and Overseas Birthday 2014 Honours list and received the honorary damehood (DCMG) for services to UK foreign policy and the campaign to end war-zone sexual violence. During the audience, the Queen presented the actress with the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George. As a foreign citizen Jolie, the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative PVSI, cannot be addressed as Dame, but receives the award on an honorary basis.
The award was first announced in June during the week when Jolie was co-chairing the End Sexual Violence in Conflict (ESVC) global summit in London with then foreign secretary William Hague.

It never fails to piss me off that Lena Dunham is compared to Tina Fey. Why is that? Why are they compared? Because they?re both white women writer/actresses? Because let me tell you ? Girls is NOTHING like 30 Rock. Nothing! Tina comes from a traditional comedy background and she spent years learning her comedic craft as a writer and performer and you can tell. Lena Dunham was told that she was a special snowflake all her life and that every moment in her life needed to be recorded for posterity and you can tell.
Oh, and Elizabeth Banks is everything!! God, I love her. She?s so smart and awesome. And Brie Larson is so pretentious.

Remember the Thrilla In Wasilla that went down last month? The entire Palin family was involved in some kind of drunken, bloody, crazy, messy, trashy brawl at a snowmobile party. Sources claimed that the Palins rolled up in a stretch Hummer and that Bristol and/or Willow may have instigated the thing. Several of the Palin kids were injured (not seriously) in the brawl and it was said that Bristol was throwing punches like a champ. Now TMZ got their hands on the police report about the incident and it?s full of even more amazing gems:
Sarah Palin’s family threw down in a massive drunken brawl as violent as any wrestling cage match — with ripped shirts, bloodied faces, and her daughter Bristol getting dragged around a lawn by her legs. The brawl went down last month near Anchorage, Alaska … when the Palin clan — Todd and his kids Willow, Track, and Bristol — went to a friend’s house party. According to the police report … obtained by TMZ … the violence erupted when Bristol went after a woman who had allegedly shoved her younger sister Willow.
Bristol told police the homeowner, Korey Klingenmeyer, shoved her to the ground, dragged her around, and started calling her a slut and a c**t.
Korey and several other witnesses at the party saw it differently … telling cops Bristol punched him in the face — he says he let her hit him 5-6 times before grabbing her fist and pushing back … sending her reeling to the ground. That scrap then sparked the all-out brawl — witnesses say Track and 3-4 other people came running to defend Bristol … and all hell broke loose … with the Palins, including dad Todd, taking on all comers. Willow says several people at the party we’re chanting, “F**k the Palins!”
One witness says Todd got jumped by 4 people, and Track jumped in to help his father. He emerged from the scrum with a torn shirt and bloody mouth. Bristol says she was uninjured, though one cop described her as having “dirt on her knees.”
Worth nothing … cops described almost everyone at the party as being “intoxicated” … including the Palins. As for Sarah … the report says she was sitting in a limo outside the party. She’s not mentioned at all in the fight — but it sounds like she tried to calm things down after the fact. The homeowner, Korey, did not want to press charges. In fact, prosecutors declined to file charges against any of the 20-plus involved in the melee.
Not surprisingly, Korey told cops the Palins lost the fight. We’ve reached out to the Palins … so far no response.

Sarah Palin already sort of/not really spoke about the incident when she defended Bristol in general a few weeks ago. You?d think that now Sarah Palin has her own online subscription channel, she would be more willing to tell her side of the story to her paying viewers. But I guess not. As for Bristol?s side of the story, that some dude pushed Willow to the ground and started calling her names? yeah, I don?t believe it. I?m not saying that the Palins are the instigators of every part of this brawl, but I think the Palins were drunk as hell and looking for a brawl and that?s what they got. No one is a winner here.

Zoe Saldana nabbed on the Elle’s Women in Hollywood covers for November. She camouflaged her bump in a flouncy Lanvin dress that looks like a sparkly Muppet. Even though Zoe doesn’t want us to invade her privacy she recently confirmed to E! Online that she’s having twins with Marco Perego. Actually, she didn’t use the “t” word. She talked about Halloween and said, “I might need three costumes. I might have to make some adjustments, but it would be nice.” Zoe and Marco are about to have their hands full.
Jessica Lange and Annette Bening were profiled in this issue too, so here are some excerpts from them as well as Zoe. Are we still pretending that Zoe’s Nina Simone movie will see the light of day? That’s not a knock against Zoe. The film has been in production for years. Zoe says she was the only actress brave enough for the role:
Zoe was reluctant to play Nina: “I actually encouraged [them] to cast someone else. But she came to me and said that everybody was afraid, and I thought, ‘Sh-t, then how can we complain that there aren’t enough films about African-American iconic figures?’”
Zoe on if she always knew she?d make it “That?s how those seven years my sisters and I spent on a bohemian island played very well. We?re not American in terms of feeding into that machine that you have to be somebody. We were somebody the moment we were born.?
Jessica on veering away from glamorous roles “I never really thought of myself in those terms. When you?re young, you just take your beauty for granted. Sometimes I think, ‘Sh-t, I should have done that film!’ But it?s a passing thought. I played the parts I wanted to play. I do have regrets about films I shouldn?t have done, which took me away from my children. That’s the only real regret–time wasted.”
Annette on what surprised her about acting: “That movies would allow me to start and stop in a way that so many people couldn?t. I always wanted kids, and I took years off when my kids were little, and I still do completely withdraw. It?s been a way of saving myself and saving the work.”

Jessica Lange is the boss. She frames her career in an interesting way: No regrets for the roles she’s skipped, but she does lament the roles that wasted her time. I hope she doesn’t regret Tootsie. Annette’s perspective is refreshing too. She’s grateful for her career and being able to take time away for her family. Jessica and Annette are legends. We’ll see what happens with Zoe’s career in the years to come.

Anyway, these are the first new photos we?ve had of newly married Clooney back on American soil. He was in NYC yesterday to make a ?surprise appearance? at Comic-Con (Comic-Con is happening in NYC right now?) to promote his film Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland is a Disney film and George plays a ?mysterious failed inventor.? It won?t be out until May 2015. There really was no reason for George to drop in to promote it now, I?m just saying. Unless he was kind of tired of his honeymoon? While at Comic-Con (??), George made jokes.
“It’s not lost on me that I’m spending my honeymoon at Comic-Con,” George Clooney cracked. “My wife was as confused about what Comic-Con was as you are,” he added of his lawyer love Amal Alamuddin.
After declaring it his first Comic-Con, the actor joked about his less-than-celebrated foray into the comic universe as Batman in 1997?S Batman & Robin: Since my Batman I?d been disinvited from Comic-Con for about 15 years ? sorry about the nipples on the suit. Ah, George. The prankster who grew up and got married and it was a fairytale. Sort of. Disney should have worked with George on that whole storyline. Oh, and Disney did release the first teaser trailer for the film ? there?s only a glimpse of George?s character.
As for Mrs. Clooney? do you guys remember how George Clooney ended up giving like twenty interviews about the Elgin Marbles/Parthenon Marbles earlier this year? I tend to believe he made an off-hand comment about stolen antiquities and it got blown up into something else entirely. Well, funny story ? Amal Alamuddin is now going to advise Greece about the Parthenon Marbles in an attempt to get the British Museum to return them to their home.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed their first child, a baby girl, back in September. Since then, we haven?t heard much about or from them. ?Sources? kept going on and on about Ryan crying in the delivery room and how Eva is super-happy with motherhood, but no one gave much time to those stories because A) the quotes were mostly generalizations about how ALL parents feel and B) because none of the ?sources? had any info about the baby name. Well, finally we know the girl?s name. And we know because TMZ got their hands on the birth certificate. The baby?s name is? Esmeralda Amada Gosling.
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ baby name may have been inspired by one of the characters she played in a Mark Wahlberg movie. Gosling and Mendes named their daughter Esmeralda Amada … according to the baby’s birth certificate, obtained by TMZ.
Amada was the name of Eva’s character in “We Own the Night” — and Esmeralda, well … maybe she’s a big fan of the ’96 Disney flick “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Esmeralda sounds like a mouthful for a baby, which is why Bedhead & I think that they?re probably calling her Esme. Esme is hipster-friendly, with literary flair because of JD Salinger?s ?For Esm?with Love and Squalor? short story. The problem with calling her Esme is that it?s also a Twilight reference. They could always call her Essie!! I?m not a big fan of Amada, mostly because I keep reading it as ?armada? and who wants to think of boats when they?re looking at a baby?!

Those rumors heated up with Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence split up on the eve of the Equals production. Hoult and K-Stew seemed friendly and sort of bro-y and they even did their ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together. Personally, I?ve been thinking this whole time that Kristen has a girlfriend and that Kristen and Hoult are just buds. But this Page Six item made me think again:

The pair, co-stars in the upcoming ?Equals,? were seen cozying up at a Cinema Society bash for Stewart?s new film ?Clouds of Sils Maria? at Omar?s.
We?re told they ?stuck together throughout the party,? which was also attended by Patti Smith, Juliette Binoche and Viggo Mortensen.
Stewart was overheard saying at the screening she liked the script because it makes ?comments about how insane the media can be.?

Can they be bros and still hang out together at a party? Sure. Does anything sexy have to happen? Nope. But my radar is pinging, especially since Hoult doesn?t even have any connection to Clouds of Sils Maria at all. He literally just came out for Kristen. Does a guy do that just for a new female friend without any hope of hot armpit action?
Now?I?ll admit that I love Hoult and J-Law together ? I always thought he grounded her and calmed her. But now that J-Law is with Chris Martin, Hoult might have fallen for She Who Lip-Bites. The crazy fans that feel like it?s a competition between J-Law and K-Stew are going to have a field day with this. Just know: Hoult is the new Sparkles!!! YAY.
