Julia Louis-Dreyfus has a great interview in InStyle. She is promoting her movie with Will Ferrell, the Force Majeure remake, Downhill. I think they are both really funny so I?m worried that I will raise my expectations too high with this film. It?s the first time they?d even met, let alone worked together. The movie story revolves around an avalanche at a ski resort (Julia?s character protects the kids while her husband, Will?s character, run away). Although avalanches have always occurred in nature, climate change is making snowbanks less stable. So, among the many topics covered, InStyle asked Julia about climate change and she said we didn?t have to worry about it because if we didn?t get our sh*t together, we would all be extinct anyway (we could fit the line about getting our sh*t together in the headline).
On having doubts about filming Amy Schumer?s last f*ckable day skit, which addresses ageism in Hollywood: All of a sudden I thought, ?Wait a minute, why is this funny?? (But) that?s just the kind of thing I like to skewer.
On forcing herself to speak up: I?ve always been very opinionated, but, honestly, I?m constantly fighting that female kind of mode: ?Should I say it? I?m sorry!? But in my head, I?m always like, ?Do it, do it, do it
On Elaine Benes (her Seinfeld character) being a ground-breaker: I was one of four players, the rest of whom were men, and we were all equally unlikable. And I wasn?t selling romance or sex appeal ? it was about something else. That was really important.
On going to Veep table reads during her breast cancer treatment: That was fantastic. Because it kept me hopeful, and I could focus on work instead of?trying to stay alive. You know, making a funny show is a pretty joyful undertaking. As opposed to, say, getting chemotherapy toxins in your veins.
On fighting for health-care post breast cancer: I had felt strongly about the issue before, but now, here it was, stark and real. The notion that someone might have a diagnosis like that and have no insurance, no means to get treatment, was inconceivable to me.
On climate change: The truth is, the planet is going to be fine ? because it?s going to eradicate the human population if we don?t get our shit together. There has to be a complete recalibration of how we conduct ourselves and do business.
[From InStyle]
The whole write-up is delightful. Julia?s voice always comes across so strong in interviews. The sad part is, she?s right about climate change. We cannot sustain life at the rate we are destroying the planet. And yet, I am constantly shocked at the number of people who stick their heads in the sand about that fact. Like, can we build a biosphere for all the climate change deniers? They can destroy their bubble while we set about trying to save our planet.
Much more optimistic is her comments about how attending the table reads for Veep gave her hope. Lord knows when I?m struggling, I?m grateful to focus on something else. I imagine being able to focus on something that not only brought Julia joy, but she knew would bring joy to so many others. To get to do that surrounded by people who adored her was probably just what she needed. I?m so grateful she gave us that last season.

| Russell Crowe is hiding out until he loses weight, he's 'embarrassed' at his weight gain | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Back in the day, Russell Crowe was hot stuff. Gladiator-era, although I always thought he was absolutely gorgeous in LA Confidential. Late-?90s and early-?00s Russell Crowe was SO attractive, and the youths probably don?t know that. It started going off the rails for him, looks-wise, in the mid-to-late ?00s. Of course, his personality was never all that great, even back when he was beautiful. There were thrown phones and tantrums and terrible behavior in those years. And in recent years, he often comes across as a boorish, sexist ahole.
Now, all that being said, looks-wise, I approve of Meaty Crowe. I?ve never had a problem with Rusty when he?s a bit portly. The man clearly loves food and God bless, I won?t judge him for having a big appetite. His weight fluctuates wildly, depending on the roles he takes and, frankly, whether or not he?s fighting his natural ?thick? body. He shouldn?t be ashamed of it, in my opinion. But he?s apparently worried:
Adele isn?t the only star undergoing an inspiring physical transformation. Sources exclusively tell Page Six that Russell Crowe ? the onetime hunk of ?Gladiator,? who was more recently photographed looking nearly unrecognizable after bulking up for a movie role ? has been keeping a low profile while he sheds pounds and gets in shape.
An insider told us: ?The reason no one has seen Russell in a while is he?s dieting. He wants to emerge after his body looks better.? Crowe?s been known to physically transform for film roles ? and there was some speculation he packed on the pounds for his upcoming road-rage thriller, ?Unhinged.? He?s also starring in another thriller, ?The Georgetown Project,? and he?d also bulked up to play Roger Ailes in last year?s miniseries ?The Loudest Voice.?
But a source said of the Oscar winner: ?He was embarrassed by those photos of him with his belly out ? He likes to eat. He eats a lot of steaks and junk food. It?s tough for him to switch gears into a healthier lifestyle.?
[From Page Six]
LOL, does he ?gain weight? for certain roles, or does he just take roles where he won?t have to lose weight? Anyway, again this is where I find Russell Crowe at his most relatable as a celebrity. He?s not eating an organic diet and he doesn?t exist to post thirst-trap muscle selfies on the ?gram. He?s an Orson Welles-type who puts on weight easily and finds it hard to take it off. Even Oscar winners let themselves go and it?s fine. Body diversity is fine. I feel like he should just own it.

| Lauren Graham got a rescue puppy, after she 'fell in love with her on the internet' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lauren Graham stars on that new show Zoey?s Extraordinary Playlist, which, I don?t know. I cannot seem to get excited about it from the clips, even though I like everyone in the cast. I guess it scratches the My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend itch? In addition to Zoey?s, Lauren also just started filming Disney+ new Mighty Ducks series that films in Vancouver, which turned out to be fortuitous because it allowed Lauren to add to a new fur baby to her family. Lauren said she found her new pup on the internet, fell in love, drove down to meet her and knew right away this sweet dumpling would become the newest member of her family. Lauren told Ellen DeGeneres the story ? and brought pics. Look at her! *makes strangled noises in throat*
You got a puppy. And, it?s a rescue dog? What is she?
We think Lab, Shepherd and then, I took her in to the vet and they?re like, ?and Rottweiler.? I was like, ?she keeps getting smaller ? wow.? Yeah, she?s kind of a big dog. I fell in love with her on the internet, which I hope is the closest I ever have to come to internet dating. But? there was something in her eyes and I?d been working in Vancouver and I drove to Washington state to pick her up. And I didn?t intending on taking her home that day, but one look in those big, brown eyes and ?you?re coming with me!? I just put her in the car and now she?s my dog.
Every single time I set out just to ?look? or ?meet? a potential pet ? cat or dog I left with them. Once I ended up with his brother too (best decision I ever made). I mean, any time you get face to face with one of these furry angels, you?ll lose your heart to it, but driving across the border to meet the precious pup? Lauren had to know there would be no turning back. And who can blame her, look at that little face!
We don?t have a name for Lauren?s new little love, but hopefully she will be the subject of Lauren?s next book. Did you know Lauren was a best-selling author? Because I sure as hell didn?t. Honestly, sometimes I don?t know how I get away with calling myself a fan. Lauren has written a memoir, a novel and an advice book and I am just learning about all of them. She also runs an online book club. I also did not know that Lauren lives near Parenthood co-star, Dax Shepard. Since Lauren lives *with* Parenthood co-star Peter Krause, it?s like a family reunion every day.
Anyway, Zoey?s Extraordinary Playlist is on NBC and Hulu. If it?s good, please tell me so I can move it up my list.

| Prince William & Duchess Kate are taking next week off, will probably go on vacation | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve mentioned this in several posts, but this is the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?s ?fastest start? to a year in the history of their marriage. Since early January, they?ve been doing events together and separately with regularity, even traveling for ?a day of events? in various towns several times. Kate launched (?launched?) her Early Years initiative at long last with the five-question survey, and she did solo events to support it. They both have dozens of events under their belt in 2020 and it?s not even two full months into the year. It?s historic! So of course they?re going on vacation next week. I?m not complaining about it because look at that, they actually ?deserve? it this year!
Kate Middleton and Prince William have had a busy few weeks, from the royal mom traveling to the four corners of the U.K. to promote her new initiative for early childhood development to the couple joining Prince Charles and Camilla on a rare joint outing. But their schedule is much lighter next week ? so they can spend time with their three children.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte?s school is on half-term break from Monday, Feb. 17, to Friday, Feb. 21. As they typically do, Kate and William slow down their royal schedules during school vacations so they can spend more time with their children. And of course, 1-year-old Prince Louis will get to spend some more time with his older siblings!
Princess Charlotte, 4, was accompanied by her big brother, 6, and parents on her first day at Thomas?s Battersea in September. Now that she and Prince George are at the same school ? Charlotte previously attended Willcocks Nursery School ? there?s no need to worry if their days off will overlap. There?s no word yet on how the family of five will be spending their week off. Kate, William and their children may leave London?s Kensington Palace for Anmer Hall in Norfolk. They often escape to their country home ? and it?s even where they chose to pose together for their super casual 2018 Christmas card photo.
[From People]
A seven day or nine-day, really block of time off probably isn?t enough for a jaunt to Mustique, but it probably is enough time for a ski holiday. That?s my prediction: a trip to some Swiss ski chalet with the kids and Carole Middleton, probably. Or maybe they?ll do something new, like? I don?t know, what?s a popular European vacation spot in February? I think skiing might be their best option. Anyway, just an FYI: the Cambridges will be on vacation next week! That would be a great opportunity for any kind of big announcement from the Sussexes, honestly.
