It?s pretty tough to ruffle Gwyneth Paltrow's feathers, and not even a dig from Martha Stewart can get her down these days.
A few weeks back the 73-year-old ex-con insulted the Oscar-winning actress? lifestyle website Goop, stating, "She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star?If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart.?
Thankfully, Gwyn didn?t engage in the mudslinging, but instead told the Most Powerful Women Summit audience, ?No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated. I'll try to recover.?
"If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition. I'm so psyched. I really am. At this point in my life I don't take it personally.?

Continuing her global promotional duties, Taylor Swift showed up at London?s Kiss FM Studios on Wednesday morning (October 8).
The ?Should?ve Said No? singer looked retro-fabulous in a pair of Pink heels with a black dress with white zigzag accents as she plugged her forthcoming album 1989.
Meanwhile, Taylor has supposedly been trying to get her best gal pal Selena Gomez to relocate from sunny SoCal to the Big Apple.
Gomez told press, "I'd love to spend time in New York. I've always said that I want to have a love affair and live there. Taylor has been begging me to live there. She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.' Everyone always says I'm more New York when they meet me so maybe it would be good for me. I don't spend enough time there."

I can?t believe People Magazine gave Taylor Swift the cover this week! They just named her their Best Dressed Lady of the year, just a few weeks ago. But Swifty is still hustling for her new album, which I think will probably be another major hit for her. Her first single, ?Shake It Off,? is #1 on most charts and downloads. And for the People cover (which is an homage to a Mia Farrow cover), Swifty gave an exclusive interview.
Figuring out her life: “The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms. Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I’d try. It’s really been a liberating and freeing time.”
Embracing the single life: “I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you’re walking through life on your own, you end up figure out what you actually like without anyone else’s input. I’m not too worried about whether I meet someone. I’m going to be happy either way.”
All she needs is fur: “I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.?
What would it take for Swifty to find a boyfriend? ? It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different?a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don’t have any kid of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete. I think that’s a nice place to be.”
Boyfriend-dissing? “Emotionally speaking, 1989 is not a heartbreak record. My music is derived from what’s happening in my personal life, and I haven’t had my heart broke. You’re not going to her, oh, like, ‘boyfriend dissing.’ When I’m deeply hurt, I usually respond by writing exactly how I feel in a song, but I just haven’t been devastated in the last couple of years.?

I?ll admit it, I?m kind of enjoying the new and improved Swifty. She needed to change it up from the stalker-eyed lovesick girl always getting her heart broken. The New Swifty is more at peace. As for having her heart broken recently? the most recent split was Harry Styles, as far as I know. Before that it was Conor Kennedy, but I think she did the dumping with Conor.
So, who should Swifty?s next boyfriend be? I?m at a loss, actually. Maybe we should introduce her to Prince Harry, just to see what happens.

It seems like every few months the tabloids claim that she?s got a bun in the oven, and Jennifer Garner is ready to set the record straight.
During her interview on ?The Ellen DeGeneres Show,? the ?Alias? actress explained, ?I get congratulated all the time by people that I know, saying, ?I hear you?re pregnant!? You know, this one woman who had babysat for us said, ?Oh, my gosh! I can?t wait for No. 4!? and I thought, ?What is going on?? So I asked around and apparently I have a baby bump. And I?m here to tell you that I do.?
And as the audience went wild, Jen interrupted- ?Hold up. Hold right up! I am not pregnant, but I have had three kids, and there is a bump. From now on ladies, I will have a bump. And it will be my baby bump. And let?s just all settle in and get used to it. It?s not going anywhere. I have a bump? like a camel, but in reverse.?
As for the success of her hubby Ben Affleck's new movie ?Gone Girl,? Jennifer agreed with Ellen that the draw was definitely Affleck?s penis. Garner shared, ?I think you?re probably onto something and what I have to say is? you?re welcome! You know, I try to consider myself a charitable person and I wanted to give back. You give me so much and I wanted to give something back.?

The conversation is mostly about Goop.com and how Gwyneth started her own business, but they get into the beef Martha Stewart has with Gwyneth. Martha said, just last month, that Gwyneth ?just needs to be quiet. She?s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn?t be trying to be Martha Stewart.?
So, that was the ?shots fired!? moment. Then, just a few days ago, Gwyneth announced that she had hired a new CEO, Lisa Gersh, who was formerly the president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living. Gwyneth is coming for you, Martha. Watch your ass, gurl. Then Gwyneth talked about the Martha beef during this summit:
Paltrow insists she’s flattered Stewart even considers her competition and revealed she’s developed quite a thick skin when it comes to dealing with the outbursts of her critics.
“No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I’m shocked and devastated,” Paltrow said sarcastically. “I’ll try to recover,” she added.
“If I’m really honest, I’m so psyched that she sees us as competition. I’m so psyched. I really am,” she said. “At this point in my life I don’t take it personally,” she said, explaining that at times she even learns “good things” from her critics.
Paltrow?s comments come days after she announced a new hire for her Goop brand — Martha Stewart Living’s former president and CEO, Lisa Gersh. Taking the helm as Goop CEO, Gersh paid tribute to Paltrow and her vision. “As a fan since its launch, I?ve admired the inimitable voice and style Gwyneth has infused into goop, and the business she?s built,” she said. “It?s rare to work with such an inspired founder and a digitally native company, a brand that thinks digitally from an organic point-of-view and successfully fuses content and revenue-generating retail.”

I actually have to give Gwyneth some props for handling that really well. She could have doubled-down on a blonde-girl-fight. She could have thrown major shade. Instead, Gwyneth comes out of it looking like a professional and Martha looks bitter and bitchy. That being said? it?s pretty obvious that Gwyneth is coming for Martha.

While having yet another royal baby on the way is quite exciting, the pregnancy process is certainly taking its toll on Kate Middleton.
So far the Duchess of Cambridge has been forced to cancel several official engagements due to severe morning sickness, and it sounds like she just pulled out of another appearance.
Kate was slated to visit Sir Ben Ainslie?s America?s Cup team base in Portsmouth, England next week, but now she?ll instead stay home and rest.
A royal spokesperson noted that Middleton and her team of physicians are taking things on ?a day-by-day basis,? but she?s not out of the woods just yet.

I?m still trying to make Rosamund Pike happen in a bigger way. I?m going to write about her until everyone agrees with me!!! As I said on Monday, I think Rosamund deserves some awards-season attention for Gone Girl. She was fantastic. My only complaint was that she needed more screen time ? it?s Amy?s story, not Nick?s story. I kind of wish the press around the film?s success was ?wow, Rosamund Pike is a fantastic actress? and not ?Ben Affleck isn?t so bad after all.?
Part of the problem with the disparity in media coverage might be that Affleck has always been tabloid friendly ? he?s always been good for a headline, a scandal, a controversy of some kind. Rosamund is not. Rosamund seems well-adjusted, she?s rarely in the UK tabloids (which is a remarkable feat) and she seems to have a quiet family life with her partner Robie Uniacke. They?ve been together for years. She?s 35 and he?s 53. He?s an ex-heroin addict and they’re expecting their second child together. That?s as scandalous as it gets with Rosamund. In a new interview, Rosamund talked about expectations in relationships and how she doesn?t expect her partner to complete her:
Even though she is not married herself, Miss Pike has revealed forthright views on matrimony during interviews about the movie. The actress, who is expecting her second child with partner Robie Uniacke, said we demand too much of our spouses nowadays, telling Spectrum magazine: ‘People have ridiculous expectations of a mate. In my grandmother’s day, you wouldn’t expect your husband to fulfill the same need in you as your sister, or girlfriends, or colleagues at work. You’d have different needs met by different people.?
?Now we want all our needs met by one person, and I don’t believe that’s possible. Or rather, it is, but I don’t think it’s universally achievable. I do think separation is key to a relationship. I go out with my partner and we are put next to each other ? there’s a feeling of, ‘What, you don’t think we can’t operate without each other?’ I don’t need him as a crutch. Of course, he’s the person I want to go home with but he’s not necessarily the person I want to sit next to. I’d rather meet someone new, and he would too.’

Prepare yourselves, because I?m about to talk about how much I love my alone-time. Seriously, I understand what Rosamund is saying because I?m the same way. I don?t understand those couples who need to be together all the time. Nothing drives me up the wall like someone who is constantly underfoot or someone who can?t be alone or can?t amuse themselves apart from me (or their partner or whatever). Read a book! Talk to someone new! Or, you know, just be alone because being by yourself, alone with your thoughts, is important too. And I agree with her on the whole idea of not needing or wanting one person to be all things – how boring is that?
PS… Here’s something else I like: we don’t have any photos of Rosamund and Robie together. I mean, they’ve been photographed together before, but they’re not the couple that holds hands on the red carpet every time she has something to promote. She just goes off and does her thing and he waits for her at home.
