Ready to tackle the first round of auditions as an "X-Factor" judge, Britney Spears embraced a cheering crowd as she swept into the Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Thursday (May 24).
Giving the cameras a big smile, the "Gimme More" singer posed for pictures before auditions kicked off - looking stunning in a plunging hot Pink mini dress and black pumps as she prepared to record the first two episodes of the Fox show.
Keeping her fans up-to-date, Britney tweeted moments ago, "Just arrived for @TheXFactorUSA auditions - hope everyone is ready! Still waiting on @SimonCowell of course...."
The pop princess has been getting a lot of advice from former judges of the "X-Factor", as Paula Abdul told Perez Hilton, "I think it's going to be great, and I'll tell you why. I think people are anticipating seeing Britney Spears. She's overcome a tremendous amount of adversity. And I'm always for the underdog coming back.She's a big star".
Meanwhile, former judge Nicole Scherzinger added in an interview with E! Online, "Britney is so bubbly and warm and everyone loves her anyway, so she just has to be herself.I think that it's something that we can't deny, but there's something about Britney that we ... are always rooting for her and behind her, no matter what".

Cashing in on some retail therapy, Mischa Barton was spotted enjoying the weather while out and about shopping with a male friend in Primrose Hill, North London on Thursday (May 24).
The former "O.C." actress wore a plunging leather dress with dark brown boots as she carried a bag from the London antique shop Judith Michael & Daughter.
The outing comes as Mischa is slowly trying to get her career back on track while she prepares to open a store in London for her handbags at the end of this month.
Of the business aspirations, the 26-year-old recently talked about her design career with the New York-based Twelv magazine as she graced their first issue.
Talking about what we can expect to see in her store, Mischa dished, "It?s just for the handbags. And I?m doing makeup as well, which I?m really proud of. The makeup is really great?that?s to round out the store? because the idea behind the store was sort of ?70s Biba-esque thing. I wanted it to be almost a vibe, a hangout."

A report by The Sun claims Victoria pays up to $500 for a 90-minute facial which involves “shining a red LED light on the face to open the pores, before an afterbirth gel sprinkled with gold flakes is spread on.”
In English, this means they put placenta on her face. Not just any normal placenta, mind you. What is she, a freak? No, her Beverly Hills specialist uses only the placenta from New Zealand sheep. The finest sheep placenta in the world because those sheep have been “untouched by the modern world.” I don’t know about you, but I take that to mean the farmers don’t rape them when they’re bored.
“They have no impurities in their system. The stem cells we harvest are amniotic cells, which means no harm is caused to the animals,” says specialist Dr. Harold Lancer.”The stem cells are preserved because they are full of rich nutrients that fight free-radical damage to the skin and make it more radiant.”
In other words, celebrities are idiots and will believe anyone that uses big sciency words. “Free-radicals, you say?!” *Opens checkbook* I bet these sheep don’t even come from New Zealand. They probably come from Bakersfield. And I won’t be convinced otherwise until I see a birth certificate.

These are some just-released photos of this evening?s Cannes Film Festival premiere of The Paperboy, starring Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, Zac Efron and Matthew McConaughey. I already covered today?s earlier photo call here. For the premiere, Nicole wore this? raspberry (?) Lanvin gown. I?m usually not big on Lanvin – I think the label is so overrated – but this is a lovely dress, and it looks great on Nicole. It?s a much better color for her than that orange-red earlier to day. I?m also loving her hairstyle here – I love a loose updo. My one complaint? I really feel like Nicole tweaked her nips before walking the red carpet. Either that, or it?s really cold in Cannes?
Incidentally, the early reviews of The Paperboy have been BRUTAL. Most critics think it?s a POS, and Nicole Kidman is a total hot mess in it. Vulture carried a spoiler-filled piece about one particular scene in the film – apparently, Zac Efron gets tung by a jellyfish and Nicole?s character urinates all over his chest. And Nicole is actually doing it, for real, on screen. You can read the Vulture piece here.

Shopping list in hand, Jessica Biel was spotted making a trip to a local Whole Foods in Syudio City, California on Wednesday (May 23).
The "New Year's Eve" actress turned heads as she made her way to the grocery store wearing a flowing nude skirt and a cream colored tank top and showed off her eco-friendly side by lugging around a large Valentino tote to carry her groceries.
As Jessica prepares for her latest big screen project, "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea", her fiance Justin Timberlake is said to also be working on the film as the music supervisor.
The "Sexy Back" singer is expected to compose the soundtrack for the film, which will be the first time he has released new music since 2009 when he collaborated with Timbaland.
"The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" is expected to begin production this fall and centers around a an introverted architect (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) unable to reconcile the grief from recently losing his wife (Jessica Biel) who befriends a wisecracking young girl (Chlo Grace Moretz) and agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic.
In addition to Biel and Timberlake working on the film this year, they are also planning to tie the knot after getting engaged last December, and they were recently spotted trying on rings at a
jewelry boutique in New York City.
As for the wedding dress, "Monique Lhuillier has sent over some sketches," a Biel pal tells Us Weekly. "She's Jessica's first choice."
As if we could expect anything less, the insider adds, "It will be a big wedding. They have lots of people they want to invite."

There are a ton of new reviews out for On the Road now that critics in Cannes have finally gotten to see it. The reviews are? mixed. And they?re not what I was expecting. I have no interest in nit-picking or anything, so just Google ?On the Road review? and pick and choose which reviews to put stock in (I think The Hollywood Reporter?s review is pretty fair and comprehensive). I think most critics agree that several of the performances are very good (I?ve seen praise for Garrett Hedlund, Viggo Mortensen, Sam Riley and Kristen Stewart), and most critics agree that On the Road is a really difficult book to adapt and Walter Salles made an interesting film that won?t make everybody happy.
But all of the reviews coming out of Cannes are not so straight-forward. Radar reports that Kristen Stewart?s performance – as the teenage bride who has several sex romps in the film – is drawing out some criticism from those people who think she should remain a virginal, family-friendly oasis. LIKE BELLA!!!

Some days, I?m irritated by the whole ?let me sexpot my way out of the Disney ghetto? path that too many young celebrity women attempt, but there?s a difference in this situation – Kristen is an actress. She?s playing a part, and some say she?s playing the part very, very well. She should not be criticized for stretching herself as an actress and getting out of her comfort zone for a good role.

Kicking off the day with a promotional appearance, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron were spotted at a photocall for their new film ?The Paperboy? in Cannes, France this morning (May 24).
The ?Eyes Wide Shut? actress and her ?High School Musical? costar looked fabulous as they posed for pictures with John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey, and director Lee Daniels.
In a recent interview, Nicole explained that when ?The Paperboy? script came across her desk, she was glad as she was looking for ?something raw and more dangerous.?
Kidman noted, ?I had seen Precious and I thought it was amazing and I wanted to work with [Lee Daniels].?

Alec Baldwin and his fiance, 28-year-old (!!) Hilaria Thomas have been in Cannes for more than a week. From what I can see (glancing through Alec?s IMDB), Alec was not there to promote anything, and I think he and Hilaria just came to party. Page Six says Alec has been shooting a documentary about (or in) Cannes, which? sure. Whatever. It just seems like Alec wants to show off his young, yoga-instructor fiance, which is fine, I guess. He?s been showing her around and they?ve done every big event, and it?s been fine. Page Six reports this morning that Alec may have an ulterior motive for this trip, though – apparently, Alec and Hilaria are going to elope shortly after Cannes.
Alec Baldwin is working on a top-secret project in Cannes, according to sources ? eloping with fiance Hilaria Thomas. The ?30 Rock? star has made plans to stay on in Europe after he?s done shooting his Cannes documentary with director James Toback, and sources tell us he could be tying the knot with Thomas in Europe sometime after the film festival closes Sunday.
?They?ve been telling people they?ll be spending time in Europe, and there?s speculation they?re going to get married,? said a source close to the pair. Another added that Baldwin has scheduled time for possible nuptials into post-Cannes work plans in Europe.
Mallorca-born Thomas, who?d be his second wife, grew up in Boston and Spain. Baldwin proposed on Long Island last month. After any nuptials, Baldwin?s scheduled to return to star in Woody Allen?s new movie with Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett this summer in San Francisco and New York. His screen musical ?Rock of Ages? with Tom Cruise opens in the US and the UK June 15.
Meanwhile, Baldwin locked horns on the Riviera with de facto king of Cannes Harvey Weinstein after Weinstein turned down an offer to appear in Baldwin and Toback?s ?Seduced and Abandoned.? The film?s landed interviews with Brett Ratner, Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese, Graydon Carter, James Woods, Lawrence Bender, Cannes Mayor Bernard Brochand and Jean Pigozzi.
?Harvey said he didn?t want to be in it,? a source said. ?When they couldn?t reach an agreement, you?ve got two passionate people . . . it?s understandable each would be emotional about it.? A film insider said the move could be a blessing in disguise: ?If Harvey?s in [the movie], which companies will want to buy it??
But sources say Weinstein could yet do the film for a dramatic Cannes ending. ?Harvey?s definitely considering it, it?s just a question of his schedule,? a source said. Baldwin?s rep had no comment.

Ignoring the Weinstein stuff for a moment, let?s just talk about Alec and Hilaria. I really wonder about this young woman. The tabloids claimed that Hilaria is trying to get Alec to live a healthier, less rage-filled lifestyle, and I do have to say that Alec does look like he?s lost some weight. He looks tired, though. He?s trying to keep up with his 20-something girl, he?s trying not to RAGE 24 hours a day, and he?s trying to become a new man. Maybe it will work out, maybe it won?t. But I?m suspicious of how whirlwind everything seems.

Charlize Theron is interviewed on today?s Ellen DeGeneres Show. Usually, I just kind of ignore Ellen?s interviews – I mean, I like Ellen and everything, but I?m not crazy about doing a lot of coverage from television interviews. But this one moved me. Charlize has been doing press for Prometheus and Snow White and the Huntsman for weeks now, but somehow she?s managed to avoid really talking about her son Jackson, and the adoption process she went through and all of that. But she gives it up to Ellen, including some personal photos of her dogs and her son.
Charlize describes bringing a newborn son into a household that includes two dogs, saying: ?It was the most beautiful thing I?ve ever witnessed. From the moment this baby came into our home. Those two dogs have never been more in love. It?s the most beautiful thing I?ve ever witnessed? People keep saying, oh you?re a single mom and I?m like actually I?m not. I got two boys (her dogs) helping me out. It?s incredible.? She says her terrier mutt Berkley is ?the pacifier thief? He?ll just lay there with the pacifier in his mouth.? And Charlize says her Pit Bull ?woke up with me for every feed, for every change, and whenever the baby would cry the Pitt would start crying.?
Charlize also confirms that she adopted Jackson from America, not Africa, and that she brought him home when he was nine days old. She describes her two-year adoption process: ?You know, it took me a while. The process, it took around two years. My Mom said the most beautiful thing. I?m going to cry. She said,?it took me nine months to fall in love with you were growing in my stomach. She?s like it took you two years to fall in love with this little baby. It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it?s finally there. It just feels exactly how it?s supposed to feel. I don?t know how to describe it. It just feels right.?

Nicole Kidman arrived in Cannes a few days ago, even though her promotional work for The Paperboy didn?t start until today. I guess Nicole just wanted to party and schmooze in the South of France. Maybe she?s hoping to soak up the vibe considering she?s going to be playing Princess Grace of Monaco. The photos of Nicole in the orange-red Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 are from today?s photo call for The Paperboy. Thoughts on Nicole?s dress? I like that she went with a bold color, although I?m not crazy about this particular bold color. The cut and design of the dress is solid, and the tailoring is lovely. My only real complaint is the color, actually.
Also in attendance at the photo call: Lee Daniels (the director), Zac Efron, John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey and Macy Gray.
A few more things about Nicole. One, her Botox-face is still, as ever, ridiculous. I don?t think her forehead or eyebrows moved a centimeter once during the photo call. And her lips- still ridiculous. But really, let?s talk about Nicole?s boobs. I?ve long claimed that shortly after Nicole gave birth to Sunday Rose, she got some implants. I actually have an eloborate conspiracy theory involving Nicole?s bolt-ons, but we don?t need to get into that right now. Let?s just say that there has been photo evidence in the past that indicates to me that Nicole?s tatas are not all real. I believe she got something done, and while I appreciated that she kept them smaller (they look fine on her frame), I?m now wondering if she went back to the surgeon?s office and got some even bigger implants. We?ve gotten emails about this too, and CB and I spent way too much time last night inspecting Nicole?s rack like boob scientists. To the boob laboratory!!!

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times reported that Sharon Stone was being sued by a former nanny. And all hell broke loose! The former live-in nanny, a Filipino woman named Erlinda T. Elemen claims that she was fired by Sharon Stone for ?accepting overtime pay and repeatedly subjected to derogatory comments about her Filipino heritage and religious beliefs.? Other claims: Sharon told Elemen not to speak in front the children because Sharon didn?t want them to ?talk like you.? Elemen alleged that Stone used to tell her that Filipino people were ?stupid?. Sharon alleged mocked and criticized Elemen?s religious beliefs, church attendance and Bible-reading – in fact, Stone allegedly forbade Elemen from reading the Bible, which is pretty rough considering the nanny lived with Stone. Here?s more:
A key element of the suit involves accusations that Stone, best known for her roles in “Casino” and “Basic Instinct,” fired Elemen after she had been paying her overtime, said the plaintiff’s attorney, Solomon Gresen.
“Because abuses in overtime pay are common for household employees, it seems ironic that Ms. Stone initially did the right thing and paid Mrs. Elemen overtime wages, and then terminated her for accepting those same wages,” Gresen said in a statement.
According to the suit, Elemen was hired by Stone in October 2006, working as an assistant nanny caring for one of three children of the 54-year-old actress. Two years later, Eleman was promoted to head nanny and began caring for all three children, which included extensive travel and living at Stone’s home.
Elemen was fired in February 2011 when Stone learned that she was paid overtime, the suit alleges. State law requires that non-salaried employees must be paid for additional work over eight hours per day or 40 hours per week. But the suit alleges Stone found out that her staff had paid her overtime and accused Elemen of “stealing” and that it was “illegal” for her to have taken the pay, and asked for the money back.

There?s even more stuff too, if you can believe that. Elemen says that after Sharon fired her, Sharon invited her ?to come back in the future to say goodbye to the children she once cared for.? When fired from her position, Stone alleged wrote Elemen an email saying: ?This email will terminate your employment without cause, as of today, Friday 8, 2011. Thank you for your services. I invite you to come by and say goodbye to Laird and Quinn. Best Regards, Sharon Stone — See me for a letter of reference. SS.? Sources say Stone did pay Elemen well – around $1000 a week, but since being fired, Elemen cannot find full-time work. Elemen also filed a complaint against Sharon with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing back in February of this year, where Elemen detailed the harassment, etc.
Sharon?s spokesman, Paul Bloch, tells the LAT that the lawsuit is ?frivolous? and Sharon will be ?completely vindicated in court.” His full statement: “This is an absurd lawsuit that has been filed by a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can. After she was terminated approximately 1 years ago, she filed claims for alleged disability and worker’s compensation. Now, she is obviously looking for another opportunity to cash in.”

Kaiser already covered the main players at the Cannes On the Road premiere, and here are some of the other guests on hand on the red carpet.
Milla Jovovich seriously underwhelmed in her lilac, slightly Asian-inspired dress. Usually, I love almost anything she wears because, you know, Milla is known to wear the hell out of almost any gown. She’s one of the only great enduring models (seriously, Milla’s been big since the late 1980s), but here, the look falls flat. This dress is wrinkly and cheap-looking and her hair is sloppy as well. Even Milla’s makeup looks underdone. She usually brings it in a big way at Cannes. What happened here?
At least Milla can work this dress from the back view, but she’s worn such superior looks on countless occasions.
Kate Upton also looks slightly cheap on the red carpet as well, but that kind of goes with her downmarket vibe. Her dress is nice, but it doesn’t stand out on the red carpet against all of those suits and tuxedoes in the background. Perhaps an updo would’ve grabbed more attention than those loose locks.
Finally, here’s someone with an identifiable designer ID! Here’s Roxane Mesquida in a Roberto Cavalli gown, and she looks positively gorgeous here. I love that hairdo (which isn’t exactly versatile but still looks great on her) and the dramatic lipstick. She looks like a dream.
Ewan Mcgregor and his wife, Eve Mavrakis, walked the red carpet together. Eva looks quite pretty here, and although I do admit to worrying (perhaps unnecessarily) about their marriage, they seem to support each other when it matters most.

Back in March and April, several different media outlets were all ?confirming? Megan Fox?s pregnancy through various unnamed sources. I think the Bump Watch began at Star/Radar, then continued over to E! News and Us Weekly, and throughout it all, Megan still hasn?t directly confirmed or denied the news. In fact, when Entertainment Tonight tried to get her to go on the record a few weeks ago, Megan?s publicist threw a hissy and shut down the interview (sort of). So? still no confirmation.
Now there are two new wrinkles on Megan?s Bump Watch. One, these photos at Celebuzz – go here to see (we don?t have access to them). Megan looks like she?s showing, but it could just be a weird blouse and some wind, I guess. Second thing: Radar is still saying Megan is knocked up, and now they claim she?s expecting a girl.
Megan Fox’s dream is coming true! The pregnant actress and husband Brian Austin Green are expecting a girl, Star magazine is exclusively reporting.
?She?s been helping to raise Brian?s 10-year-old son, Kassius [by ex-girlfriend, actress Vanessa Marcil], for years, and now she?ll have the experience of being mommy to a little girl,? a source tells Star. ?Obviously, Megan and Brian would be happy with a healthy baby of either gender, but they?re beyond thrilled that Kassius is going to have a little sister.?
Star was first to report the news that the Transformers beauty,26,was expecting her first child with her husband of nearly two years.
?She?ll be due at the very end of September or the first week in October,? the source adds. ?Megan is attached to a movie called Swindle, but it?s in rewrites and probably won?t even begin filming until next year. So right now her plate is totally clean, and she can devote herself to her baby.?

Due at the very end of September? probably means a Christmas conception. Which means she?s coming in on five months along right now? That?s interesting. Megan is a very small, petite girl. Google says that she?s only 5?4? – and pre-pregnancy, my guess for her weight is maybe 105 pounds, give or take ten pounds. What I?m saying is that I?m surprised she wasn?t showing back in late March and early April. Although? Megan really doesn?t get pap?d as much as she used to, so it?s probably a combination of that plus she?s actively trying to hide her bump.

Gwyneth Paltrow did an event in London two days ago for the Clinton Foundation, and I?m sorry I didn?t get a chance to get to the photos yesterday. There good pics – Gwyneth actually stopped for a moment outside the venue to smile and pose for the waiting paparazzi, which she rarely does. I do like her outfit – white slacks and some kind of intricate, lacy shell. Gwyneth does white and cream a lot, and sometimes the paleness washes her out, but not here. She looks toned and fit and tan.
But really, let?s talk what?s important. HER HAIR. I?ve been on a tear over the past year or so about Gwyneth?s hair. In my defense, Goop is kind of stuck in the 1990s, her hey-day. She still believes her go-to red carpet look should be ?long blonde hair, flat-ironed, with a strict center part.? It no longer suits her face, and I think the style ages her and dates her. Look at how much better and younger she looks with her hair all wavy and fluffy and teased out a bit? Isn?t this such an improvement? She needs to adopt this style more often.
As for the event – President Clinton was there. Don?t worry. Goop is SO not his type. Let?s face it – you could show Bubba a dozen slim, elegant, icy blondes and he?s always going to go for the zaftig, bubbly brunette. I kind of want Bubba to meet Christina Hendricks. RIGHT? It was certainly an eclectic crowd at the Millennium Network Event held held in London last night. Gwyneth Paltrow brought Hollywood glamour to the bash and turned up in an all white outfit and a winning smile. The 39-year-old star donned a bright ensemble held at The Old Vic Tunnels in Waterloo. Gwyneth was seen waving to fans and photographers as she arrived at the event, showing off her trim figure in a white top with embroidery detail and a pair of tuxedo trousers. The mother-of-two had her hair teased into loose beach waves and had heavy eyeliner for the occasion.
Gwyneth was co-host of the event which was attended by Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Dave Clark, Joan Collins and Lily Cole. The Millennium Network is part of the Clinton Foundation and former President Bill and his daughter Chelsea were there to support the event.
The fundraiser was arranged to help raise funds for the organisation which aims to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote healthier childhoods, and protect the environment. Guests, who paid upwards of 120 a ticket were treated to music, speeches and drinks as well as the chance to mingle with the familiar faces in attendance.

Bill Clinton hasn?t had much luck on the party circuit. Another exclusive bash he?d hosted in London recently with tickets costing up to $1,600 was blasted as ?the worst party ever? by guests who lined up for hours to get in. Marie Phillips, author of ?Gods Behaving Badly,? wrote on Twitter, ?WORST. PARTY. EVER. The queue was the highlight.? She described how celebrity guests including Gwyneth Paltrow and Will.i.am were led in while hundreds of others who paid for tickets waited outside near Waterloo Station. She added, ?I haven?t seen so many posh angry people in a line since the shrimp ran out at Kate and Wills? wedding.?

Making a jaw-dropping exit from her Los Feliz, CA home, Jennifer Love Hewitt was seen heading off to a business meeting on Wednesday afternoon (May 23).
The "Client List" stunner looked fabulous in a figure-hugging red scoop neck bandage mini dress and gold and brown strappy heels while she gave the awaiting shutterbugs a smile and wave before heading off.
After taking a week hiatus from Twitter to catch up on some relaxation, the 33-year-old star went back to her social media page passing along a hello to her followers this morning tweeting, "Morning everyone! Press day today! Have a magical day!"
In career news, as previously reported by GossipCenter, the brunette beauty's hit Lifetime series has been renewed for a second season. Elated over the sultry series' success Hewitt gushed, "It has been so much fun working with such a great cast and crew on the wonderful stories we tell, and I'm ready to see where The Client List takes all of us next year."
