| Kate Hudson believes in journaling, eating 5 meals a day & indulging | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Kate Hudson covers the new issue of Self Magazine? to promote her athletic line, Fabletics, and her beauty/fitness book, Pretty Happy. It?s a lot like the situation with Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba ? the movie roles aren?t always there, so some actresses have branched out to side projects, and now those side projects get those actresses the magazine covers and publicity they crave (and despite their complaints, they do crave it). Kate?s recent publicity blitz reminds me a lot of Cameron Diaz?s blitz a few years ago when she promoted her beauty/fitness book. There?s a lot of ?lifestyle advice? and ?how to keep your life centered? sort of stuff. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
The perils of doling out advice: ?I?m finally at a place in my life where if someone wants to know what I do to stay healthy, why not tell them? Why not put it out there??
Always change: ?I change my routine. I change my look. I change my mind? [with fitness,] I really switch it up. I?ll do Tracy Anderson, I?ll do Body by Simone, I do everything. Nothing, literally nothing, makes me feel like I?m back to my body more than pilates. I?m one of those people who, it?ll be early in the morning and I?ll be in a robe getting my hair done, and I?ll use my Hot5 app?and do push-ups for five minutes!?
Her diet: She goes for five small meals a day, sticking to unprocessed and plant-based foods for the most part. ?I?ve pretty much cut meat out. I don?t remember the last time I ate a steak? The hardest thing for me is eating right when I get up, because I don?t like to. I?m not one of those people who wakes up hungry. I wake up and I want coffee and even a green juice, but everybody says you?ve got to eat something, even if it?s little. So that?s sort of the hardest, but I realize that when I do, I eat less during the day or late at night.?
Indulging: ?If I want to go out and eat at a restaurant with amazing food, I?ll do that, like, once a week where I?m not thinking about it. I want to indulge! I want to do things that are not necessarily healthy sometimes.?
Journaling: ?Journaling keeps me centered. When you jot things down, you can really see what?s going on. What are you eating? What are your food patterns? You can get clued in to the things that are going on with you. It?s proven that people who express gratitude, people who make that a practice in their life, are more joyful. Any sort of affirmation is a very simple way of reframing your thoughts, removing yourself from the negative.?
Societal pressures: ?Find the place where you feel really good in yourself. We?ve been programmed to feel like we?re under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way. And that?s not our fault. That?s what culture and society have gifted us as women. Thank you but no thank you.?
[From Self]
I feel like CB would probably enjoy Kate?s thoughts on fitness a lot more than I?m enjoying it. CB likes Zumba and spin and she likes to work out with other people, which Kate talks about a lot in this interview, that fitness is best enjoyed in a group, when everyone is dancing or sweating together. That, to me, sounds like hell. I hate working out in groups. I?ve taken one class in my whole adult life and I HATED it. What I do like about Kate is that her message is very positive ? she?s not saying there?s just one way to work out or be centered or diet. Her overwhelming message is: do what works for you, find what makes you centered, find what makes you happy. It?s very non-judgmental and I appreciate that.

| Catherine Zeta-Jones: 'Contrary to public opinion, I have not been under the knife' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
|
As we discussed last week, Catherine Zeta-Jones is back in action and promoting a new movie, Dad?s Army. It feels like we haven?t seen much of Catherine in years, and I was surprised when I covered the London premiere photos and saw that she looked pretty much the same. I wrote that ?I think she?s been worked on, but it?s good, expensive, gradual work. The effect is that she looks somewhat hazy and ageless rather than radically different.? Well, as she?s been promoting the film, she?s been getting a lot of questions about plastic surgery and non-surgical procedures, and she?s been denying all of it. She claimed a few days ago that her ?secret? is dousing her skin in argan oil. And she tells Good Housekeeping that she flat-out has ?not been under the knife.? Some highlights from her Good Housekeeping interview:
On her 15-year wedding anniversary with Michael Douglas: ?It was great. Just the two of us at one of our favourite restaurants, laughing that we haven?t killed each other yet ? and that we are still alive! Fifteen years is a long time. You?ve got to keep the home fires burning! It?s a long road and I think people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage. You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises, because that won?t be the last problem. There will be many more down the road.?
Her bipolar disorder diagnosis: ?Finding out that it was called something was the best thing that ever happened to me! The fact that there was a name for my emotions and that a professional could talk me through my symptoms was very liberating. There are amazing highs and very low lows. My goal is to be consistently in the middle. I?m in a very good place right now. A lot of that is to do with the fact that I?m much more knowledgeable about what I call my pain in the ass!?
On getting older (she?s ?46?): ?You don?t have to be a beauty queen to be an actress. The roles that are coming my way are different and more interesting. But I?m not anti-plastic surgery at all. Contrary to public opinion, I have not been under the knife?yet, is what I say! If I feel like it, I?m going to go ahead and do it! If (surgery) makes you feel better, who am I to tell someone that it?s wrong??
[From Good Housekeeping UK]
You know what surprised me? That after Catherine and Michael separated and told the world that their marriage was struggling, they found a way to repair their relationship and they?re still sticking with it. I think they truly surprised a lot of their early detractors and they?re in it for the long haul now. And maybe that?s what Catherine means when ?people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage.? As for her claim that she hasn?t been tweaked by a plastic surgeon? okay. If she says so. I think it?s debatable whether she?s had surgery on her face (it might just be Botox and fillers), but you know what?s not up for debate? Her boob job.

| Elizabeth Olsen cast as a 'rookie' FBI agent in a film from 'sicario' scribe | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
In case you missed it, Elizabeth Olsen was back in LA on Monday night and she attended the premiere of Hail Caesar. I can?t find any photos of her walking the red carpet, but there were photos of Olsen ducking into the theater ? go here to see. It looks like she went with Sam Taylor Johnson and Aaron Taylor Johnson. Aaron and Lizzie played brother and sister in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Maybe they became close friends? The point is that she?s not currently in Australia, where Tom Hiddleston is filming Kong: Skull Island. But she has been to visit him on set, so I think they?re still together.
Meanwhile, Olsen has scored a new role and it sounds? odd.
Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen have been set to star in Wind River, a drama written by Sicario scribe Taylor Sheridan, who also is on board to make his feature directorial debut. Sicario producer Basil Iwanyk?s Thunder Road is producing this one with Peter Berg and Matthew George.
The pic, which begins shooting in March in Park City, centers on Cory (Renner), who works for the Fish and Game Department as a hunter of coyotes and other predators. Suffering after the death of his teenage daughter, he stumbles upon the raped body of a teenage girl frozen in the desolate wilderness. A rookie FBI agent (Olsen) who is unfamiliar with the terrain and weather enlists Cory to help her find those responsible.
[From Deadline]
As I mentioned last week, I watched Sicario during the Snowpacalypse, and I also watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (for the first time, sorry not sorry). I was pleasantly surprised that I didn?t hate Olsen as the Scarlett Witch, and I thought she did a decent job playing that kind of comic-book role. She?s usually doing these more off-beat indie roles, so it?s good to know she has some range. I liked-but-didn?t-love Sicario ? it reminded me a lot of True Detective Season 1, and I thought the script was sort of overrated. Sicario was also dark as hell (dark subject matter), and I don?t know? I?m not really feeling Olsen?s casting here. Renner on the other hand? He might be a douche in real life, but he?ll do well in this.

| Did Hilary Duff get a really raw deal in her divorce from Mike Comrie? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie?s divorce was finalized this week. It was a surprisingly long process ? two years! ? perhaps because they tried to give their marriage another shot after they split up the first time. Comrie was a professional athlete with the NHL, and he comes from an incredibly wealthy family. So imagine my surprise when I read that Hilary actually had to pay Comrie money in the divorce!
Hilary Duff is now a single woman, and former NHL star Mike Comrie’s a single guy, because their divorce is now final. According to new legal docs making the divorce official, Hilary must pay Mike $2,408,786 to settle their financial split. She gets to keep their Bev Hills mansion and other property as well.
Hilary and Mike get joint custody of their 3-year-old son Luca. They split the child-rearing costs and neither gets spousal support. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Hilary gets to keep her interest in a Malibu mobile home — it’s a very ritzy thing among the rich. He gets to keep his 2014 Bentley coupe, a 2013 Mercedes G-Class SUV and a bunch of jewelry.
[From TMZ]
Comrie?s father, Bill Comrie, founded a Canadian retail company and the family is worth ?hundreds of millions of dollars.? Which goes a long way towards explaining why Mike Comrie always came across like such an entitled douchebag. But Us Weekly explained that Duff had to pay off Comrie because A) they had a valid pre-nup and B) because Comrie is ?letting? her keep the Beverly Hills mansion. Meaning, they co-owned the mansion and she?s buying him out of the property.
Also: Us Weekly says neither spouse will receive spousal support from the other. Yeah? I get that the pre-nup was valid, but who wrote the pre-nup? Is it the same lawyer who convinced Hilary to pay out to Mike? Because I feel like she could use some better representation. I?m sure Duff has money saved and some money coming in (she?s worth somewhere in the ballpark of $20 million, allegedly), but it seems like her interests were not being properly represented. Please tell me Comrie is at least paying some child support?
