While the Duchess of Cambridge got the most attention at last night?s royal premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, I do think it?s worth discussing the other women at the premiere! Jennifer Connelly was brought into the sequel, and she plays Maverick?s love interest. Jennifer is a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton, so she?s almost always wearing LV on any given red carpet. It gets a bit boring, but LV gave her some interesting looks for the promotional tour. I actually loved her LV last night. I love the print (which I think is beading, actually), I love the simplicity of the black-and-white on her. And I love that she?s finally doing a real hairstyle and not the scraped-back look she usually does.
As for the men, Tom Cruise wore Brioni, the same brand which Brad Pitt reps. Interesting choice. Miles Teller went with a double-breasted Fendi tuxedo and I actually think he got the best tux/suit look. Miles?s wife Keleigh wore Zuhair Murad. I? love her look as well. I don?t know what?s going on here. Maybe the pandemic made me miss big red carpets or something, but I think everyone looked great?
Also: thanks for sending me this tweet, I completely agree with this theory. The Duchess of Cambridge is rarely photographed next to or in front of women who are thin fashionistas. While there are photos of Kate speaking to J-Con, the way those photos were staged for the bank of photographers made it almost impossible to get a photo of Kate and J-Con together, side-by-side.

In the South of France on Wednesday, the stars of Top Gun: Maverick descended upon the Croisette for a big, splashy, not-in-competition premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The premiere got an excellent turnout so many of the biggest names come out for the first four or five days of Cannes, then the red carpets get a bit weaker. Tom Cruise was clearly in his element. He?s promoted films at Cannes before, but it?s been years (decades, really) since he?s done this kind of big Cannes premiere. The festival was super-happy to have him there too the festival gave him a special surprise: an honorary Palme d?Or, their top prize. The audience gave him a five-minute standing ovation. I know, I know, but I believe it was probably all about his career, not his cult.
Jennifer Connelly and the rest of the Top Gun cast was there, and they walked the carpet en masse. It was kind of cool. Connelly wore Louis Vuitton. I honestly don?t hate the dress, but I don?t care for her styling. She and Rooney Mara are both obsessed with that severe, scraped-back hairstyle and minimal makeup with ghostly pale skin. What I wouldn?t give to see Rooney or J-Con do bouncy, fluffy hair on a carpet.
Some other notable ladies at the Top Gun premiere here?s Elle Fanning in a pale, bespoke Armani. This is stunning on her, and I?m usually not a fan of this kind of thing. She?s so beautiful and such a fashion girl.
Adriana Lima is pregnant (which I forgot) and she wants us to see her bump. That?s why she wore this Balmain. It?s fine, good for her.
Eva Longoria wore Cristina Ottaviano. Did she get a new stylist or something? She?s looked a lot sleeker so far. It really works!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda. A mess, Aishwarya!!! I love this lady but this is a whole gdamn mess. She looks like she?s smuggling a flower shop into the premiere.

Jennifer Connelly is currently quarantined in Vermont with her husband, Paul Bettany, and their two kids, Agnes, 9, and Stellan, 16. During an interview for Emmy Magazine, Jennifer said her kids are so starved for human contact outside of their parents, they asked if they could watch the UPS guy make his delivery to their home.
For Jennifer Connelly and her family, social distancing in Vermont amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been very difficult.
Connelly, 49, opened up about how the global health crisis has affected her family in a recent interview with Emmy magazine sharing, I cant remember if its three weeks or four weeks now that weve been here, the Daily Mail reported.
We dont go anywhere, Connelly, who is married to actor Paul Bettany, shared.
The couple shares two children: son Stellan, 16, and daughter Agnes Lark, 9. Connelly is also mom to son Kai Dugan, 22, from a previous marriage.
Connelly shared with Emmy that even the most trivial tasks have proven to be big events in her household due to the lack of outside contact.
The other day, the UPS guy came, and the kids got so excited. They were like, We havent seen a person in a week! Can we watch? Connelly said her children told her. And I was like, Yeah. Sure. And they literally sat on the staircase and watched as I opened the door and waved and talked to the UPS guy from a distance.
The human connection, not having that contact, has been really difficult for everyone, Connelly told Emmy according to the Mail.

When I first read this, it made me laugh and then I remembered how just last week, I flagged down our FedEx guy to ask him what song he was playing. I could?ve Shazamed it from my window while he delivered to the house next door, but I think I also just needed to connect with someone, like Jennifer said. (I find the Instacart drivers are particularly chatty, fyi.) It is hard on everyone. The parents of my son?s friends and I just came up with a plan to get them together in a socially distant, open-aired environment and then we heard California is looking at possible renewed Stay At Home restrictions due to a spike in our COVID cases. This concerns Jennifer as well because her oldest son, Kai, is 22 and living out here (I think Kai?s dad is here). Jennifer said this is the longest they?ve gone without seeing Kai ever and it was really weighing on her. She had been planning a huge family reunion party that I guess will have to wait until we get our numbers back down. *Sigh* Oh well, at least our delivery people will still visit.

I haven?t been covering much from the promotional tour for American Pastoral, which is Ewan Mcgregor’s feature-film directorial debut. Ewan also stars in the film, as does Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning. They?ve been out and about all week, and these photos are from the big Beverly Hills premiere last night. The fashion was? not on point?
Jennifer Connelly wore Louis Vuitton, which is no surprise because she?s a long-time LV brand ambassador/whatever. But again, what the hell is happening over at Louis Vuitton? Their Paris Fashion Week show was not great, they?re constantly throwing milkmaid dresses onto Alicia Vikander, and now this? polka-dotted and checked, shiny-with-cutouts dress? There?s too much going on. But I?m sure some people will defend it just to spite me! That’s fine, I love you all even if you claim that the ugliest coats ever are gorgeous. Ugh, no one will ever convince me that Kate?s coat is any way cute, just like no one will ever convince me that this LV dress is anything but a design failure.
Bonus Paul Bettany, who seems to be committed to transforming into Robert Evans.
Dakota wore David Koma. I don?t like this either, but it feels seasonal. Like, she?s wearing a glam shade of ?pumpkin.?
Lovely Ewan. Does the man ever age?
Bonus: Uzo Aduba looking fabulous. She looks like she was styled by Oprah, which is like the highest compliment ever.

We rarely cover Jennifer Connelly, which is a shame. She?s an interesting person and she?s been acting for something like three decades. I also wish Jennifer?s husband Paul Bettany was around more often, because he?s beautiful and I love him. But they live a relatively quiet life in NYC with their three children (the oldest, Kai, is from Jennifer?s previous relationship) and everything seems very low-key with them these days. Jennifer has a supporting part in Winter?s Tale (that fairy-tale looking film with Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe) and that was enough to get her the cover of Allure. You can see one of the Allure slideshows here, and here are some highlights from the interview:
At 43, she?s done with having babies: ?I knew that we were going to be done after number three. That’s enough for us.?
Her 16-year-old son Kai: ?It sounds like I’m bragging terribly but he’s well rounded, and he’s interested in sciences, and he’s also a great writer and interested in history and he plays guitar.?
Being directed by Bettany in Shelter: ?One couldn’t feel more safe as an actor than knowing that the director’s your husband. It’s like, oh, if I really make a fool of myself, I can just say, “Honey, can you please not put that in the movie?” That was a great perk.’
The roles she goes for: ?Anything that feels like it has integrity, in which one can be really invested, is cathartic. I don’t think it has to necessarily be tragic in content, but I have had more experience playing those characters. There are plenty of comedies and light hearted films with that same substance as well that are just as important and are just as meaningful. I haven’t come across many of them in scripts that I’ve been offered. I’d love to find something that’s a bit more light hearted. That might be a nice change of tempo.?
What matters: ?The thing that really matters to me is well-being and happiness. Maybe it comes from knowing people who have tortured themselves trying to meet these strangely narrow and rigorous definitions of what our culture thinks is beautiful.?
Working with David Bowie in Labyrinth: ?David Bowie was so generous and lovely with me, and I remember thinking that dress was very, very fancy. I think it was made out of Saran Wrap.”
Meeting Princess Diana in 1986 at a film premiere: “This was such a big deal. I was very excited to meet her, such an icon. There was lots of protocol. I was nervous. But she was lovely, as I remember. She was very kind and sweet to me. She was a princess!”
Working with Drew Barrymore & Jennifer Aniston: “They were both really lovely. I don’t think I had any scenes with Drew, but Jennifer was great?I loved her. The reality of those things is everyone comes in and does their part and then flies off. I said, ‘Oh, it will be so great. We’ll all work together,’ and the most time we actually got to spend socializing was at the premiere.”

OK, so she?s a little boring. But that?s why we like her, right? We wouldn?t like her if she gave interview after interview about Paul Bettany?s hotness (God, he?s hot) or all of her famous friends. I get the feeling that Jennifer really doesn?t go in for that kind of thing ? she?s not all about fancy parties and networking and all of that. She?d rather be in Manhattan with her family.

Bundled up in the chilly Big Apple, Jennifer Connelly and Colin Farrell filmed "Winter's Tale" in Central Park on Tuesday (January 15).
The "A Beautiful Mind" star wore a black sheepskin-lined coat, black tights, and boots while her long-haired and bearded costar wore a green jacket, black pants, and boots.
In the Akiva Goldsman-directed film, a thief, a dying girl, and a flying white horse are followed in both 19th Century and present-day Manhattan.
Joining the pair in the fantasy flick are Russell Crowe, Matt Bomer, and Will Smith. "Winter's Tale" is set to hit theaters sometime this year.

Spending some time with her darling baby girl, Jennifer Connelly took a stroll in the Soho neighborhood of New York City this afternoon (May 23).
The 41-year-old actress looked gorgeous as she carried her daughter Agnes Bettany in a baby Bjorn while sporting a pair of aviator sunglasses and jeans.
In other news, the ?Virginia? star?s director Dustin Lance Black recently spoke to AV Club about working with the brunette beauty saying, ?She?s very attractive, and so winning. And that was the thing?she?s disarming, funny, vibrant, and a little irreverent.?
He added, ?I met her out here in New York at the Bowery Hotel restaurant. I walked in, and she was so gorgeous. Even as a gay guy, I was like, ?Oh, man. Maybe I?m a little bit heterosexual after all.? [Laughs.] Which isn?t true.?

Here are some new photos of Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany arriving in Nice, France, probably for the Cannes Film Festival. Yes, that?s their youngest child, daughter Agnes, in Jennifer?s arms. How cute is 11-month-old baby Agnes? I love that the baby got Paul?s coloring. Not that Jennifer has bad coloring at all – I love her dark hair and light eyes. But I just think it?s cute that both of Paul and Jennifer?s kids – Agnes and Stellan look more like him. They make beautiful babies. *sigh*
Over the past week, I?ve been seeing stories about Jennifer, but I never really stopped to see what she?s promoting. It?s a movie called Virginia, and I think it?s probably going to screen at the Cannes Film Festival. The film screened in NYC a few days ago too, and Page Six spoke to Paul about his wife?s role – as a blonde! Paul said, ?I thought it was remarkable? Somehow I thought it really suited her. I?ve never seen her as a blonde.? But when Paul was asked if he would like Jennifer to keep the look, he just said: ?I married a brunette.? Aw? he loves her dark hair. Sexy.
Jennifer was also on Anderson Cooper?s daytime show recently, and she spoke about her family:
Age may just be a number, but for Jennifer Connelly it?s been the secret to her family?s success.
?I?ve got a massive family now. It?s really unbelievable. They are all such extraordinary kids and they?re great together,? the actress, 41, tells Anderson in an interview airing Tuesday.
?They never fight, they look after each other. They are loving.?
Connelly, who is mom to sons Kai, 14, and Stellan, 8, and daughter Agnes Lark, 11 months, attributes the brood?s bliss to her and husband Paul Bettany?s ability to spread the love.
?I am just blessed they are such great, really wonderful kids,? she raves. ?Maybe it has something to do with the huge age gap between them, there is no competition and they all have so much attention and focus.?
However, despite the synchronization among the siblings, Connelly admits she won?t be expanding their family any further.

Like, they?re organized and focused on their family, and you can tell that their marriage and their children are always their first priorities. I really do love this family.

The 41-year-old actress rocked a long-sleeved black dress paired with strappy black heels as she posed with the film?s director Dustin Lance Black the Cinema Society and Shideido with Grey Goose sponsored event.
In other news, the brunette beauty recently spoke to Anderson Cooper about the possibility of having more children saying, "I think we should call it quits. It's like trying to move an army getting out of the house and we go everywhere together, so it's a lot of bodies to move."
Miss Connelly currently has three children with her actor husband Paul Bettany.

It?s Jennifer?s first red carpet appearance since giving birth to daughter Agnes, fathered by Jennifer?s hot husband, Paul Bettany. Paul was not with Jennifer last night, unfortunately! Anyway, Jennifer and how beautiful she is. I love the way she looks right now - she still has some post-baby weight, her face is filled out slightly and she just looks so healthy and gorgeous. At the event, Jennifer talked about her home birth and her midwife:
Beautiful mind AND body! Stepping out at Tuesday’s “Every Woman, Every Child” for Save the Children benefit at NYC’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, Jennifer Connelly walked her first red carpet since giving birth to daughter Agnes Lark Bettany May 31.
The stunning Oscar-winning actress, 40, wasn’t shy to reveal a bit of her post-baby weight loss in a black sheer top (with a black bra underneath) tucked into flattering, pleated black pants.
Connelly told Us Weekly she felt compelled to step out for the benefit, which supports a cause near and dear to her heart. “I gave birth to my daughter Agnes three and a half months ago, like many women, I gave birth to her at home,” the Dilemma star told Us.
(Agnes was born via schedule home water birth at the NYC apartment she shares with husband Paul Bettany.)
“But unlike many women around the world, my birth was attended by a skilled midwife,” she continued. “I’m very excited to be here to support Save the Children and to support mothers around the world that don’t have access to health care.”
Agnes joins big brothers Kai, 13 (his dad is Connelly’s photographer ex David Dugan) and 7-year-old Stellan, Connelly’s son with The Tourist star Bettany, 40, whom Connelly wed in 2003.
