Making her fourth such trip to the political center of the States, Jennifer Garner was on-hand at the Capitol Visitor's Center in Washington, DC on Wednesday (June 8).
The "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" actress joined Save The Children leader Mark Shriver, along with Bob Casey and Barbara Mikulski, with the group discussing early childhood education and improved access to child care.
Upon taking the podium, Miss Garner looked upon the youthful audience, as she said, "You guys look...young," then adding, "bright, successful, clean, pretty-looking people."
Helping the actress maintain credibility during the education/care talks, Shriver later reminded the conference-goers that Jennifer is ?a daughter of West Virginia? and ?understands the problem of rural poverty very well."

Set to hit newsstands on June 14th, the super-hot TV personality chatted with the publication about her stay-energized secrets and fitness tips, while also opening up about balancing motherhood and career.

On fitting in fitness and finding "me time": "You've got to figure out what works for you. If you only have 20 minutes, make it a kick-ass 20 minutes. Working out is my stress reliever and my me time. The way I see it, if you don't have 45 minutes a few days a week for yourself, you are in big trouble."
On date night with her partner, David Charvet: ?It?s Familyville in my life, but David and I make sure to escape once a week. So maybe on a Sunday night, we?ll go out to dinner at a favorite Malibu restaurant. Or at home we get the candles, the music?the whole deal?and we close the bedroom door. We have a rule in our house that you have to knock on closed doors. Someday the kids might be like, ?I smell the candles, I hear Maxwell playing?? but thank God they?re not old enough to figure that out yet. I do not want to have to explain that one!?

On Monday night (June 6), the Victoria?s Secret bombshell attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City and told Us Weekly that her baby boy, Flynn, has been her greatest life-changing moment ever.
"He's the best thing I've ever done!" she proudly gushed. "He turned five months old today, and it's such a fun age. He's smiling. He has two little teeth on the bottom now, so that's been a little painful."
Kerr and hottie hubby, Orlando Bloom, welcomed their first child into this world back in January.

The only answer I can come up with is some kind of fashion-industry hive-mind, because it?s literally impossible to me that designers around the world saw photos of Cheryl Cole in her tragic purple, orange and turquoise ensemble and thought ?I should do that!? Echoing Salon’s sentiments, some celebrities should just stay off YouTube and Twitter. Or at least do a couple of dry runs before releasing it onto the net. Sitting alone on the cold, dark set of Hemingway & Gellhorn doesn’t quite make her come off as personable.
It’s nice that Nicole is trying though but it feels like she’s sitting slightly to the right because she doesn’t want people to see the guy pointing the gun to her head forcing her to do this.

Aw, Jennifer Connelly had her baby! She and her ginger Godsend of a husband, Paul Bettany, welcomed baby girl Agnes Lark on May 31. Damn! They kept that quiet. Apparently, it was a home birth. Baby Agnes joins two big brothers - 7-year-old Stellan and 13-year-old Kai (who is Connelly?s son from a previous relationship). What are your thoughts on ?Agnes Lark?? I like the ?Lark? part. I think that?s adorable. As for ?Agnes?? well, I hope it?s a family name. It sounds like a grandmother name.
It’s a hat trick for Jennifer Connelly: the Oscar-winning actress, 40, is now a mom of three! The Dilemma star and husband Paul Bettany welcomed a baby girl, Agnes Lark Bettany, at their home in New York City on May 31, her rep tells Us Weekly exclusively. Little Agnes was born via scheduled home water birth in a birthing pool, the rep explained.
“Everyone is healthy and doing well,” Connelly’s rep tells Us. “The family is very excited.”
Agnes joins big brothers Kai, 13 (his dad is Connelly’s photographer ex David Dugan) and 7-year-old Stellan, Connelly’s son with The Tourist star Bettany, 40.
Us first broke the news first back in December that the actress was expecting again.
In January, Connelly opened up on the Late Show with David Letterman about extreme nausea — and cravings! — during her third pregnancy.
“The first three months were very sketchy,” Connelly admitted. “You know how like you have your cell phone and you have to stand in one spot? It was like that with nausea. I had to stand in one spot, which happened to be in front of my refrigerator, which was open with me dipping pretzels in cream cheese and stuffing them in my mouth.”
After meeting on the set of 2001’s A Beautiful Mind, Connelly and British actor Bettany, 40, wed in a small, intimate ceremony in Scotland in 2003.

Congratulations to Paul and Jennifer! Both of her sons seem to have gotten her coloring, so it?s probably too much to hope that little Agnes is a strawberry-blonde/ginger, like her daddy. It would have been awesome, though. Can?t you just see Paul with a ginger baby girl? That thought just made my ovaries weep.

These are new photos of Cate Blanchett attending the opening of the Sydney Film Festival, where her last film Hanna was being screened. First, let?s talk fashion. God knows, Cate is one of the few women in the world who can literally wear ANYTHING and make it look high-fashion and fabulous. She is the anti-Katie Holmes. Holmes can put on a $6000 couture gown and it looks like it?s from WalMart. Blanchett could wear a WalMart dress and she would look impossibly chic. So? with that being said, I don?t like Cate in this oversized suit. She?s always loved menswear-inspired looks, but this isn?t a polished, chic look. This suit looks like it came from Hillary Clinton?s closet. No disrespect to She Who Wears Pantsuits, but Cate is simply better than that, sartorially.
Next: I?d like to talk about Hanna, which I saw for the first time a few weeks ago. It was? a bizarre film. Like, I?m surprised that it was made. I?m surprised that someone put up the money for this odd little movie. Saoirse Ronan was great in it, as was Eric Bana and the smaller, supporting roles. As for Cate?s part as a bitchy, anal-retentive CIA operative/handler - uh. It was weird seeing her like that, walking around in her great suits and her Southern accent. But the whole thing was just weird. It made me wonder if Cate just needs to get back to doing strong dramatic performances in big films rather than these WTF?-supporting parts in little films.

For the record, I?m not the one calling this video ?creepy?. Salon did that, in a piece where they claim Nicole is recording from ?Jigsaw’s dungeon on the set of Hemingway & Gellhorn.” LOL. I don?t think it?s creepy as much as it is? odd, maybe? I like the idea of Nicole Kidman loosening up and making a YouTube video for her fans. I would like it more if the camera wasn?t hand-held and the sound quality was better. But I love that Nicole barely talks above a whisper (it?s her thing) and that someone smeared age-defying Vaseline over the lens. What?s up with the lighting? Oh, Nicole.
This feels like something Mariah Carey would do. All of it, from speaking barely above a girlish whisper to smearing Vaseline over the lens to wearing a full face of makeup and an in-character wig for an informal YouTube video. It?s great.
I disagree with Lainey that Nicole?s face looks harsh - I?m not really seeing these alleged fillers, but her jacked lips are? the same as they have been. I honestly believe that Nicole is trying to ease up on the Botox (her face has more mobile lately), but the lip injections are a big problem. The odd, creepy lighting is making them gleam like two shiny worms stapled to her face.
In the end, all I really want to know is: WHERE IS Clive Owen?!? He?s making this Hemingway and Gelhorn movie with Nicole. He needs to make a YouTube video. ?For the [masturbatory] fans.?

Here are some additional photos from last night?s Glamour UK?s Women of the Year Awards. Kim Kardashian was in attendance (as was Kristen Stewart - ha!), and our Kat-Face wore this slinky black number that I actually really like. I?m just talking about the dress, don?t look at the kat-face or how she styled herself. Just look at the dress! At first glance, I thought it was some kind of textured, patterned satin, but it?s black silk with a lace overlay. Can?t you see this gown on Diane Lane or Jennifer Aniston? Sofia Vergara? Any of those ladies would make this deceptively simple gown look really good. Not so much with Kim, mostly because of the way she styled herself. The earrings are too long, there?s too much bling (it?s overkill, which makes all of the jewelry look fake anyway), and her hair is pulled too tight.
Also in attendance at this show - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. At first glance, I liked her rosy-nude Burberry Prorsum dress, but as I look at more closely? not so much. It would have been better in a real color. She?s still dressing like she?s a blonde - someone needs to tell her that brunettes can pull off brighter colors and jewel tones.

There are some celebrities that I never get tired of making fun of - like Gwyneth Paltrow. Dame Goop is a gem, and she constantly provides new comic material. Not so much with Kristen Stewart. K-Stew is EXHAUSTING. Maybe it?s because I have that gut-level reaction of ?smack-smack-smack.? Maybe it?s because K-Stew seems permanently stuck in this angst-ridden, lip-biting, ?I?m so deep and complicated and that?s why I can?t just walk a red carpet without showing you how much DISDAIN I have for The Process? phase. She?s been here forever. It?s exhausting.
Anyway, these are photos of Kristen at Tuesday night?s Glamour UK?s Women of the Year Awards. She wore this short, tight little Balmain which? well, I don?t hate. I liked the red safety-pin Balmain dress from the MTV Movie Awards a lot more. The red dress seemed like it was made precisely for her slender, slouchy frame. Not so much with this one. Plus, she?s so pale and the dress doesn?t really ?pop? so now everything looks kind of washed out. And? should we even talk about her posture? I want to physically stand in front of her and shove her shoulders back and up. And then I would smack her.
By the way, by most accounts, K-Stew was only in London for this red carpet. She?s not due to begin principle filming on Snow White and the Huntsman (where she?s playing the slouchy, lip-biting, angst-y Snow White) until August. Some sources say she?s headed to Toronto to spend time with Sparkles while he works.
