Alec Baldwin, to play a fictional president of television, bowed out of the opening video for the Emmys last night when Fox cut a joke he made about Rupert Murdoch’s phone-hacking scandal.
Alec tweeted, “Fox did kill my NewsCorp hacking joke. Which sucks bc I think it would have made them look better. A little.”
A source close to Baldwin said the issue wasn’t the fact they cut the line but that it was done after he taped what he thought was a “cohesive bit” and that the editing would affect the pace and flow of the skit. Consequently, Leonard Nimoy replaced Alec and re-did the skit without the joke.
Baldwin added, “If I were enmeshed in a scandal where I hacked photos of families of innocent crime victims purely 4 profit, I’d want that 2 go away, 2.”
Fox claimed the joke was cut because they take the hacking allegations very seriously and didn’t want to look like they were making light of the situation.
Probably also because widdle Rupert Murdoch went “wah wah, tell that mean man to stop making fun of me on my own network or else I’m taking my ball and going home.”

25-year-old train wreck Lindsay Lohan was kicked out of a Marc Jacobs party Thursday night after showing up uninvited and strong-arming her way in the door. Cue the Nelson Munz “ha ha!” The Daily Mail says:
Party organizers had initially refused to let Lohan into the swanky party.
A friend of hers tried to persuade door staff to let her in but they said on several occasions that ‘it’s not going to happen’.
So the actress called the hotel’s owner Vikram Chatwal, who walked her in… but a while later security staff approached and told her she was not welcome at the bash.
Lohan… was unceremoniously escorted out.
I think it’s safe to say that at this point, even Muammar Gaddafi and the Ebola virus would make it into a Fashion Week party before she did.

Making their way back to Los Angeles following a short stay in Austin, Texas, Sandra Bullock and baby Louis landed at LAX airport on Sunday afternoon (September 18).
Playing coy for the cameras along the way, the adorable mom and son duo kept it casual for their weekend flight, opting for comfy sweaters as they took to the skies.
Meanwhile, Sandra's ex, Ryan Gosling, has opened up about their past relationship, telling UK newspaper The Times that she's one of the best gals a guy could ask for!
"I had two of the greatest girlfriend of all time. I haven't met anybody who could top them," Gosling told the publication of his time with both Bullock and former fiance Rachel McAdams.
He later blamed the strains of work for causing both relationships to end, telling, "Showbusiness is the bad guy. When both people are in show business it's too much showbusiness. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow."

I burst out laughing when Sofia Vergara was talking to Ryan Seacrest about her dress. Look, it?s not like I?m in the habit of making fun of accents - longtime readers know that I love an accent, and hey, my dad?s an immigrant, so I grew up hearing English spoken with an accent. I just think Sofia?s Colombian accent is oversized and she works it harder for comedic effect. Like, when she told Seacrest that her dress was Vera Wang, it?s like Sofia?s mouth couldn?t form the appropriate sounds and it came out as ?Vaaaa-rrrra WO-ONG!? It was ridiculous and yes, I laughed at her accent.
So here is Sofia in Vara WONG (said with a roll of ?r? and by drawing out the ?wong? to make it into a two syllables). I love the color on Sofia - the salmon-pink is just gorgeous. The fit is great, it?s flattering, her girls aren?t spilling out and she looks like a goddess. She was one of my favorites of the night too, but I did dislike two parts of her styling: I disliked the ?sleek? hairstyle, which just seemed ?flat? to me, and I HATED those earrings, which were much too big for Sofia. That face is gorgeous - why draw attention away from it with gigantic earrings? And the pop of emerald green against the salmon? it did nothing. But, as I said, those were my only issues, and the dress is gorgeous.
I included a photo of Sofia with her boyfriend, Nick, who? I don?t know, I kind of think Sofia is over it. And there?s one of the young girls from Modern Family. One of the things I like so much about that show is that it feels like all of the adult actors love and adore the child actors, and look out for them. They just seem like a tight-knit group. I hope there?s no drama.

I like the idea of Heidi Klum wearing a previous Project Runway winner. I especially like that she wore a dress by Christian Siriano, who is probably my favorite of all of the winners - and notice that Heidi isn?t wearing anything by Gretchen Jones, last season?s KNIT GRANNY PANTY-designing winner. Anyway, so? I like the idea of that Klum and Siriano were collaborating, but this dress? it?s just a train wreck. From start to finish. It?s the wrong color for Heidi, first of all. Second of all, it makes her look flat-chested, which she isn?t. Third, THAT CRAP ON THE BOTTOM. Yikes.
Here?s the problem with Heidi: everybody always kisses her ass as far as style goes. Maybe it?s because of Project Runway, maybe it?s because she was a model for so long, and people assume she knows a lot about fashion, but Heidi consistently disappoints me on the red carpet, if she isn?t outright horrifying me. She?s consistently over- or under-dressed, like she doesn?t know how far or how pulled-back she should go. I guess she thinks that it doesn?t matter, because she can pull off anything, but she can?t, in reality.
Really dissect this look and look at all of the stuff going wrong. She?s wearing too much makeup. Her hair doesn?t suit her face, and it looks oily and damaged. The jewelry is wrong. Every part of the dress is wrong for a woman of her age and body type. It?s all just a mess. One of the worst-dressed of the night.
Oh, and I like Heidi. I like Heidi and Seal - but she needs to tell him to button it up. It?s not the Grammys, it?s the Emmys. We don?t need to see all of that.

I was surprised when Evan Rachel Wood lost for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries - I thought she was a lock! Evan might have thought she was a lock too, because look at this stunning dress. This is the kind of dress you wear when you think you’re going to win. It?s Elie Saab, and I love it. ERW has been going through a menswear-inspired phase, wearing lots of pantsuits and tailored pieces, so I was surprised to see her in this vintage-looking gown.
Can I just say something? A lot of you defend someone like Kristen Stewart when she slouches and eye-rolls her way through a red carpet, claiming that it?s just nice to see a young actress who isn?t flashing her bits and pieces. My rebuttal: Evan Rachel Wood. A young woman with a killer body, dressed conservatively and elegantly, and like she?s still figuring out her style, but like she cares very much about how she presents herself. Does she look older than her 24 years? Sure. But I like that about her too. She can pull off this ?older? look without looking like a kid who got into her mom?s makeup.
My one complaint? The hair. The hair is a miss. She chopped it off months ago, and in Toronto and Venice, Evan was mostly doing it spiky and mussed-up. I would have liked to see a more David Bowie hair style with this dress, because these pin curls (? Is that what they are??) are not the most flattering. The hair makes her neck look thick, right?
I added a little Guy Pearce too, just because.

When Gwyneth Paltrow was walking the red carpet, I was having a bitch of a time figuring out what part of her dress was lined and what part was see-through. In still photos, I think I?ve figured it out - we?re actually seeing Goop?s stomach, right? But we?re not seeing her legs? Is the skirt of this dress fully lined, or did I make out some actual skin down there? I think we?ll looking at lining in the skirt. The dress is Pucci, which is interesting, I guess. Goop?s been wearing more and more Pucci in the past year. I think I would have really, genuinely liked the dress if the beaded lace had been done throughout, and there was no ?faux crop-top circa 1994? action happening.
As for the ?see through? part, which I thought was an unflattering leather belt at first? tragic. Here?s the thing about our Dame Goop: she works hard for her body. She diets and she exercises like crazy, and having a great body and showing it off in clothes - that?s what Gwyneth lives for. This is her life?s work, what we see here, more than any acting gig. The problem? With all of the work she puts into her body, she still has a square-shaped body, and this dress doesn?t do anything for it. It makes her look even boxier. Plus, there?s still the ?sexiness? problem with Goop. Even when she?s undressed, even when she?s showing off her body? there?s nothing sexy about her. She?s just an icy, smug blonde with a nice figure that no one gets hot for.
As for the styling? I LOL?d when I saw that Goop had flat-ironed her hair AGAIN. She does it for all red carpets now! Because Goop is stuck in 1997, when she was at the height of her fame and smug, self-satisfied importance. She just looks so dated to me - this is not a style trendsetter anymore, this is just some woman who used to be very famous and she still dresses like she?s in her 20s.

You know that I love Christina Hendricks, right? And that I?m often blind to her style faults, of which she has many. I think Christina?s biggest problem might be that she doesn?t seem to know what to do with her (store-bought) boobs? She tries giving them boob-caplets, she tries jacking them to high heaven, she tries covering them up in boob burqas, but they?re just SO BIG. It?s like nothing can really be done with them. Anyway, last night, Christina decided to jack them to high heaven in this heavy-looking beaded gown by Johanna Johnson.
What I like: the neckline is pretty, and her boobs don?t look as jacked as they did in that rose Vivienne Westwood. I also like the beading on the top part - I actually everything from the waist up and the neck down. That part of the gown photographed beautifully. But from the waist down? well, there were issues. There was heavy beading on the hem which made the dress look too ?heavy? and the extra bottom glitter was unnecessary - no one?s looking at her heels, you know? It?s Christina - we?re looking at her boobs, don?t even try to draw the eye down. Plus, the front slit was much, much too high. It felt like we were about to see whether the carpets matched the drapes.
As for her styling?I liked her hair. I liked that there were no bangs, and that her hair looked fluffy and breezy. Her makeup looked overdone when she was talking to Ryan Seacrest, but in these photos, it?s fine. The white-silver of the gown washes her out a little bit, but she?s not at Code Red: Corpsey.
I also included a photo of Elisabeth Moss in Marchesa. The dress suits her, and it?s pretty flattering for her figure. Her hair was a hot mess, though. I think Moss is just one of those girls who always has hair issues, though. There?s also a photo of the ladies of Mad Men - I liked Cara Buono?s vintage-looking gown, and of course, I loved Kiernan Shipka?s little party dress. She?s such a cutie. And there?s Mrs. Blankenship! Huzzah.

Claire Danes attended the Emmys last night as a presenter (she won last year in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie category for her role in Temple Grandin), and I’ve got mixed feelings about her look for the evening. She wore a metallic blue Oscar De La Renta column dress, which I believe was intended to be edgier than all of the monochrome and minimalistic dresses that she has favored in the past. I like that she’s mixing it up a bit, and I love the deep blues of the dress itself. It also looks a lot better against the HBO backdrop than against the standard-issue Emmy red-carpet wall.
What gives me pause about Claire is her hair and makeup. Kaiser thinks the hair should be a few shades darker, and I agree that she’s just far too blonde and highlighted at this point, but she’s been that way for quite awhile. Claire’s stuck in a bit of a beauty rut, and I’d like to see her try out a cool shade of brunette or, at the very least, go for some rich lowlights instead of defaulting to the Hollywood standard blonde. In terms of makeup, the lipstick is fine, but the eyeliner is applied in far too gratuitous a manner. Again, I think Claire is going for “edgy” here, so that excuses some of this mess.
Sadly, her adorable husband Hugh Dancy was nowhere to be seem. Maybe he had a TIFF hangover and couldn’t handle the sparkle factor of this dress.

These are just some extra ladies that maybe didn?t deserve their own individual posts, although they were noteworthy enough to mention here. First up: Maria Bello in Kaufmanfranco. This was actually one of my favorite dresses of the night, and I think Maria was one of the best-dressed ladies, overall. She was just there as a presenter, because she?s coming out with Prime Suspect, the American remake of the British cop show starring Helen Mirren. Maria has big shoes to fill, and I?m looking forward to seeing this series, honestly. I love this entire look - the dress, the hair, the makeup. She looks beautiful, but it?s not a showy, ?LOOK AT ME? outfit, which is nice for a presenter. Also: Maria has a cute ass.
Next: Gretchen Mol in L?Wren Scott. I often wonder why more women don?t choose L?Wren for big red carpet events, because L?Wren gowns are often understated, impeccable, classic and beautiful. But maybe the problem is that if you put a classic, deceptively simple dress on someone boring like Gretchen, it just reads as a snorefest. Gretchen is just? zzzzz?..
Last: Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh, the new Charlie?s Angels. Minka is in Dior, Taylor in Armani, and Annie is in Romona Keveza. Minka lost a real opportunity to take it to the next level here - she could be ?The Next Blake Lively? you know? I mean that she could be the go-to ?hot girl? with a great figure who gets invited everywhere, and then starts doing movies. Instead, Minka just wore a boring old-lady dress with doily sleeves and she looked terrible. Out of all of them, I really like Annie?s dress - that?s a beautiful color on her. I could do without the headpiece thing, though.

It was television?s biggest night, and January Jones' baby was reportedly pulling for ?Mad Men? during last night?s Emmy Awards.
According to a report, the ?Anger Management? babe?s son Xander Dane provided moral support for the AMC show?s cast despite being only a week old.
Creator Matthew Weiner told press, ?Her (January?s) baby had his fingers crossed. She told me that,? referring to the fact that Ms. Jones stayed home with her baby boy.
He continued, ?We just heard from her. We had a horrible superstition that her not being herer was bad for us. We miss her tonight.? ?Mad Men? won Best Drama for the fourth year in a row.

At this point, Katie Holmes just goes to the opening of an envelope. I thought that Katie had no real reason to appear at last night?s Emmys, but I guess she was there to support The Kennedys, right? But she wasn?t nominated for her zombie turn as Jackie Kennedy or anything. Still, I guess some people were happy to see Mrs. Tom Cruise, and Katie managed to turn in a pretty good showing. Katie wore this blue Calvin Klein that really flattered her coloring. I?m kind of meh about what it does to her figure, though. I think the neckline is messing me up a little? I think if you?re going to wear a gown that?s cut like a sports bra, it should actually fit like a sports bra. It should be tailored and emphasize your smaller bust (because a girl with a larger bust won?t wear this sports-bra-inspired neckline). Still, the dress is pretty good on Katie.
As for the styling? her makeup looks GREAT. I swear, she has someone new doing her makeup these days, and whoever it is, he or she is doing a bang-up job. The hair is meh? I?m surprised Katie didn?t do another ?Kate Middleton look?. I also think Katie could have borrowed some jewelry, right? She didn?t need much to complete the look, maybe a small pair of earrings, and maybe one bracelet.
What do you think Katie?s reaction to Jane Lynch?s Tom Cruise joke was? “Katie Holmes is in the house as well. I’d love to say something funny about her, but I’m afraid of her husband.? I noticed that there was no Holmes cutaway for that one? interesting.

Here?s the thing about Julie Bowen: I actually like her a great deal, I think she?s pretty and she?s a gifted actress and comedienne, and I almost always love her interviews, so she?s a pretty interesting and intelligent woman too. BUT? her style is almost always horrendous. Like, she?s one of the few ladies that I always know is going to mess up her red carpet look. So, when you come into it thinking, ?Damn, I bet Julie Bowen looks like hell tonight,? you can actually be nicely surprised when she puts in some effort to look styled and pretty.
So Julie wore this metallic grey-black-pewter Oscar de la Renta gown? which I actually like. I was on the phone with my mom, and she absolutely hated the whole look, though. I think lots of women identify with Julie Bowen, and with her Modern Family character, and they expect her to really bring it, style-wise, to awards shows. Maybe they don?t realize that Julia doesn?t really know what looks good on her, but I give her credit for trying, and I do think she?s improving. My mom?s biggest problem with this look was that Julie looks too thin, Julie?s ?too old? (my mom?s words) to wear a deep-V-neck gown, and lastly, Julie?s HAIR. I dislike the hair too, but it?s not as bad as it?s been before. I think Julie just has hair issues, and she doesn?t know what to do with it for the red carpet. So we get this little flat-ironed ponytail? ugh. Just put it in a bun, Julie.
My biggest problem? Julie?s makeup, always and forever. She wears too much makeup on Modern Family, and she wears too much in real life and on the red carpet. If you wiped all of that crap off of her face, I suspect you would find a very naturally pretty and young-looking woman.
Congrats to Julia and Ty Burrell on their Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress wins for Modern Family. I LOVE how many awards Modern Family is getting, because I think it?s the smartest and funniest sitcom in a long time. I always that Julie Bowen must get tired of Sofia Vergara getting all of the attention from the show, but apparently Emmy voters are bigger fans of Claire and Phil.

Kate Winslet wore a very clingy red Elie Saab gown to last night’s Emmy Awards. The dress showcased those curves she’s constantly talking about, but she really worked it, in my opinion. She’s showing a hint of cleavage without hanging out, her hair and makeup are similarly understated but just right, and she accessorized with some gorgeous Cartier drop earrings and a two-tiered tennis bracelet. I know others will disagree, but I’m impressed with the dresses overall at the Emmys. There were plenty of simple, elegant non-fussy gowns in solid colors. Since I favor more conservative styles with clean lines most of them were just my style.
Kate won best actress for Mildred Pierce, with her costar Guy Pearce taking home the Emmy for outstanding supporting actor. I’ve seen both the original and the current HBO remake of Mildred Pierce, and while I enjoyed the miniseries I felt that they could have cut out about 1/3 of it, or nearly two hours, and not have lost much. It didn’t have the impact it could have. Maybe the pacing was consistent with the time period they were portraying. The scene where we finally get to see Evan Rachel Wood’s merkin was devastating though. I won’t reveal much in case any of you are waiting to see it, but that moment actually made me gasp out loud.
Kate thanked the cast and crew of “Mildred Pierce” during her speech. She said “This, really, I feel like had nothing to do with me - it was all you.” She also thanked her mother very graciously. “Mildred Pierce was capable of great acts of love as a mother, but she was also an extraordinary multi-tasker. To that end I actually do have to share this with my mum. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you do in your life, you never stop needing your mum, and I will never stop needing mine. So thanks mom.”
During his acceptance speech, Kate’s co-star Guy Pearce joked that it was awesome to get to have pretend sex with her so many times. “This was really a delightful experience making Mildred Pierce. I got to have sex with Kate Winslet many many times. And I didn’t realise it was going to result in this. So Kate I share this with you because you’re an extraordinary woman, thank you, for allowing me to insert myself into your world of Mildred. And to my wife, Kate, who had to listen to me talk about that every day when I came home from work. Thank you my darling and I’m sorry.”

Joining in on the annual toast to television's finest, Zooey Deschanel glammed up the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards earlier this evening (September 18).
The ?(500) Days of Summer? looked dashing in a floor-length, Pink Monique Lhuillier gown as she took the Nokia Theatre stage alongside Will Arnett for presenter duties.
Prior to showtime, Miss Deschanel voiced her distaste for heels, as she told E! News, "I always want to wear flats, but I'm wearing heels. They wouldn't let me."
Hosted by Jane Lynch, the show looks to be as star studded as ever, as an A-list line up of Tinseltown heavyweights are scheduled to appear.
Among other celebs slated to take the stage to dole out the affair's coveted awards are Sofia Vergara, Ashton Kutcher, Amy Poehler and Jon Cryer.

The former "Hills" hottie happened to be playing host during an evening at the Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - with the event coinciding with her 25th birthday.
During her Las Vegas festivities, Miss Montag also stopped by 35 Steaks + Martinis at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, as she posed for pictures while delving into the "King of Desserts".
