It feels like there?s been an exponential uptick in people using the term ?President Musk? ever since that Oval Office press conference last week. Good, cause it?ll bug the sh-t out of the man Musk bought, Trump. While Musk and his merry band of Hitler Youths at DOGE have already steamrolled their way into accessing sensitive data in the Treasury Department ? and, as of this weekend, possibly the Social Security Administration ? and we have yet to see how that breach will manifest, it is never, never too late to hit Musk in the purse by boycotting his businesses. Sheryl Crow has done just that, revealing on Instagram Friday that she sold her Tesla and was donating the proceeds to NPR, because it was ?under threat by President Musk.? Everyday is a winding road, but if a change would do you good and all you wanna do is have some fun selling off your (least) favorite mistake, then do it, if it makes you happy. And yes, in Sheryl?s video post she does indeed soak up the sun.
?My parents always said? you are who you hang out with,? Crow wrote in the caption. ?There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.?
Tesla?s CEO Elon Musk is leading the Department of Government Efficiency, which is focused on reducing federal spending under President Donald Trump. The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, has singled out agencies like the Department of Education and the Federal Aviation Administration in addition to targeting DEI initiatives.
Musk?s presence among Trump?s allies has garnered criticism from Democrats and galvanized rally-goers. Critics have filed several lawsuits opposing the Department of Government Efficiency?s efforts. Musk is simultaneously leading Tesla, which reported its fourth-quarter earnings in January with results falling below Wall Street?s estimates.
In her caption, Crow also said she was donating money to NPR.
?Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth,? Crow?s caption read.
NPR has recently drawn political scrutiny from Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others.
Greene, the chairwoman of the House Oversigt Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, has called the CEOs of NPR and PBS to testify in a March hearing. In her letter to the media agencies, Greene referenced NPR?s coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop story and PBS?s coverage of a gesture Musk made during an Inauguration Day event.
The Federal Communications Commission has also set its sights on NPR and PBS. Trump-backed FCC Chairman Brendan Carr ordered an investigation into the media agencies over concerns they could be ?violating federal law by airing commercials,? per a letter obtained by The New York Times.
Carr reposted Crow?s video to his X account on Saturday, along with some commentary.
?I know celebrities are hesitant to weigh in on hot button issues, so I appreciate Sheryl Crow making an argument here?not through words alone, but through her actions?that Congress should not force taxpayers to subsidize NPR. Bravo,? the post said.

?PBS?s coverage of a gesture Musk made during an Inauguration Day event.? It was a Nazi salute, Marjorie, and he made it multiple times (on camera) that day, just in case you want to be more efficient with your wording at the hearings. But getting back to a better blonde: Sheryl Crow. She?s hitting all the right notes here (music pun intended). I love how she frames the whole thing with those words from her parents, and what she doesn?t say outright, but I still felt, is her wanting to set a similar example for her sons. And thank goodness, Sheryl is not alone in directing negative attention towards Tesla. Protests have been happening all over the country at the car company?s showrooms, and not only were the 2024 fourth quarter earnings below estimates, but it also marked Tesla?s first ever-reported annual sales decline. Listen, I?ll take every little form of win we can get! Big things have small beginnings.
Lastly, I?d just like to take a paws to acknowledge the late great Kabosu. Not that anyone needs reminding, but Kabosu was the fabulous Japanese Shiba Inu whose Mona Lisa-mysterious mug inspired the Doge meme. I am both deeply apologetic for what?s being carried out in her namesake, and thankful she doesn?t have to witness it.

Sheryl Crow covers the August issue of Good Housekeeping. Every time I cover a Sheryl story, I re-google her age and am amazed all over again. Sheryl is now 52 and looks both fantastic and real. This interview takes place at Sheryl’s 50-acre ranch near Nashville. She’s got both of her sons, Wyatt (7) and Levi (4), in tow. Sheryl talks about several topics in this feature. She talks about her benign brain tumor as a wake-up call. She alludes to her famous ex-boyfriends, which include Lance Armstrong, Owen Wilson, and Eric Clapton. Somehow I missed her liason with Owen over the years. I very much remember Sheryl catching heat for Lance Armstrong’s actions. Sheryl is simply grateful that she never married any of these chumps. Good point:
On battling cancer: “Something happens when you’re diagnosed with a disease. Your emotions start racing, and clarity is reached.”
The glamour of parenting: “I’ve become a glorified taxi driver.” Though she has a nanny and her sister Kathy helps out, Crow is a hands-on mom who takes the boys shopping at Target, drives them to Sunday school and swimming and tennis lessons and helps care for their pet guinea pigs.
Put your clothes back on, pop stars: “It’s hard to be a woman in music today. There’s so much sex that’s projected, and that’s a bummer. These singers talk about how empowering it is, but a good musician who can command the stage doesn’t have to rely on sex to sell her music.”
Her ex-boyfriends: “I had always gone out with guys who were highly successful, which would seem like it would put me at an equal level. But what ends up happening is that one of you becomes smaller — and it was always me. It’s always the woman. I mean, I don’t know if it’s always the woman, but I do think that sometimes in order for one person’s light to shine, everyone else has to dim theirs.”
Her newer relationships are different: “Embrace the idea of only having equals in your life, and you’ll see your relationships change. I’d made a pact with myself that my kids would know anybody I was involved with as a friend first. They weren’t gonna wake up and find somebody sleeping in their house or feel abandoned because the relationship fell apart. You can still love and respect someone, even when you’re mad at them or disagree with them. And you can celebrate the good things happening for them, even when those things are not happening for you.”
Her love life in perspective: “I’ve been set up before. It’s funny — my guy friends will tell me, ‘I don’t know anyone good enough for you.’ And I keep saying, ‘Lower your standards!’ Hey, I would love to get married — I’m still old-fashioned. But I don’t think marriage is the be-all and end-all. It’s better to have three broken engagements than three divorces.”

I haven’t kept up with much of Sheryl’s music since the late 1990s, but I’ve always admired her personally. She seems very strong but her “picker” hasn’t been very reliable when it comes to men. Her three famous exes have all battled some form of substance abuse problem. Sheryl is absolutely correct about three broken engagements being worse than three marriages. Who would want that trouble in their lives besides Kim Kardashian?

Standing out in a bright Pink gown, Sheryl Crow worked her red carpet magic at the 2013 American Country Awards tonight (December 10).
All gussied up in designer duds, the ?All I Wanna Do? stunner made sure to spend a few minutes mingling with her fellow celebrities and posing for photos before scurrying into the Mandalay Bay venue in Sin City.
Every year, the American Country Awards gives country music fans an opportunity to vote for their favorite artists and then tune in to watch who wins.
Tonight, the trophies will be handed out by the likes of Sara Evans, Scotty McCreery, Matthew Morrison, Thompson Square, Clay Walker, Lauren Alaina, Luke Bryan, and Olivia Newton-John.

She always knows how to make an entrance, and earlier tonight (November 6) Sheryl Crow had everyone?s full attention as she arrived at the 2013 CMA Awards.
It seems the hours of primping definitely paid off as the ?Soak Up the Sun? star charmed the fans and shutterbugs with her gorgeous getup ahead of the big Bridgestone Arena event.
There's plenty to look forward to as the CMA Awards get underway, with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood serving as hosts as well as performers.
Other notable acts slated to take the stage are Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Jason Mraz, Florida Georgia Line, and Keith Urban.

Fresh off the release of her new album Feels Like Home, Sheryl Crow scored a feature in the latest issue of Parade magazine.
During her Q&A session with the publication, the "Soak Up the Sun" songstress opened up about the album and revealed what other career path she would have chosen.

On Feels Like Home:
"I moved to Nashville almost eight years ago, after I finished breast cancer treatment. My friend Brad Paisley said to me, 'If your records were put out now, they'd be considered country.' He encouraged me and was instrumental in getting me a record deal. I've always written songs with stories, but now they're stronger and in the first person."
On her single "Waterproof Mascara":
"I wanted to make a record about what it's like to be a woman right now, like Tammy [Wynette] and Loretta [Lynn] did. So writing about being a single working mom was important to me."
On other career aspirations:
"I think I'd be a veterinarian because I'm animal crazy. I have 11 horses, two dogs, chickens, donkeys and two Texas longhorn cows. I want to instill in my songs [ages 6 and 3] a love of nature. We're all renting Earth, so we have to talk care of it."

Sheryl Crow is 50 years old, y’all, and her bod is fantastic, isn’t it? I know I said the same thing last time I wrote about her, but damn. Girl looks good. Sheryl appeared on Katie Couric’s new talk show on Monday, and several topics came up. First up on the agenda were some more details on Sheryl’s benign brain tumor that she revealed a few months ago as a source of memory loss (she was forgetting some of her lyrics during live shows). Sheryl now suspects that her heavy cell phone usage caused her tumor, which is a tricky subject that we’ll discuss below. Oh, and she also talks a bit about her ex-fianc, Lance Armstrong, and her reaction to how he was stripped of his Tour de France titles (all seven of them) after a doping investigation. Sheryl handles that very sensitive topic quite well — especially considering there’s a lot of history between she and Lance. Here are some excerpts:

Grammy award-winner Sheryl Crow recently announced that she has been diagnosed with a common form of brain tumor called a meningioma.
The 50-year-old released the news on Monday night (June 4) to a Las Vegas reporter, but thankfully, the tumor is benign.
?I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor," Crow told Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Doug Elfman.
"And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong,'" she joked. "I haven't really talked about it...But it's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."
A rep for the singer added , ?"[Crow] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the [Vegas] interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy."
