He had to endure five to six hours of makeup while making his latest film ?J. Edgar,? and Leonardo DiCapriowas a little put off by his on-screen appearance.
The ?Catch Me If You Can? stud, who attended the Los Angeles premiere of the flick last night, explained that he plans on taking better care of himself so as not to age as his character did.
"I hope I don't look anything like that! ... They were very meticulous in trying to create a very overweight version of myself but with [J. Edgar] Hoover's attributes. So I think it was a combination of both things," he shared.
Then again, with Leo?s illustrious roster of supermodel and actress ex-girlfriends, it?s unlikely he?ll be letting himself go anytime soon.

So Kaiser had the title saved for this story and I started sending her emails complaining about how I was offended by Gwyneth Paltrow’s newsletter this week. Goop gave us a makeup “tutorial” that was basic stuff I learned when I first started applying makeup as a teen. There was honestly nothing useful at all in there for me. I have auburn hair and pale reddish skin and I do my makeup every day. I can’t remember the last time I went out without makeup, and I don’t feel like myself when I don’t wear it. I don’t wear a lot, and unlike Gwen Stefani I have no problem sitting at home with a bare face around my loved ones, but when I go out I wear it. I know makeup, I know how to apply it, and I know what looks good with my coloring. You can call me insecure or vain or whatever, but I like doing my hair and makeup every day.
Anyway, Goop used a “dear friend” as a model and wrote that she asked a London makeup artist to do her over and give us advice. It was so basic it annoyed me. I’ll just include Goop’s message here. You can go to Goop’s site for the very simple tutorial:
Believe it or not, I am terrible at doing my own makeup. I’m decent at doing it for a friend, but when it comes to my own face, I never get it right. I have been wanting a step by step lesson for ages so I asked my London makeup artist, Emma Lovell, to show me how. One of my gorgeous school mum friends from my son Mosey’s class agreed to be the model (thank you, Kate!), and I learned so much. I hope it’s helpful for some of you!

I guess if you have no clue how to apply makeup or what products are available the very basic advice may be useful to you. There was nothing new there or informative to me whatsoever. Doesn’t every makeup tutorial tell you that you need to curl your eyelashes first?
This kind of illustrates for me why Goopy goes out without makeup and why she often looks like hell at events. I’ve seen her do that thing where she rims the membranes and lids of her eyes with thin black eyeliner, making her look squinty.
It bothers me that this woman assumes everyone else is as inept with makeup as she is. When I go looking for tutorials, I want to learn how to do a smokey eye, the right brushes to use to apply and blend blush with my face shape, and how to shape my eyebrows and fill them, not just that I should use an eyebrow pencil and a “cream blush on the apple of the cheek.” Really, Gwyneth? You’ve been working red carpets for years and this makeup advice is news to you? It’s like she really does think we need her guidance in all matters.

Lindsay Lohan has a whole week to turn herself in before she begins her jail time for violating her probation, which works out nice because Hugh Hefner called a mulligan on her first Playboy shoot and she has to do it again. E! News says:
A source confirms that LiLo will be dropping trou ? though not her delicates ? for another soft-focus shoot with the mag, her second attempt at a sexy spread after Hugh Hefner’s ever discerning eye was apparently not overly pleased with the results of her first session, which took place at the Playboy Mansion last week.
The camera sitting is set to take place [today], and the source says that Hef has still not fully decided on the creative aspects of the shoot, but has brought in a new photographer for the do-over.
However, while the photographer and possible theme may be changing, one very important detail is remaining the same: Lindsay will not be going fully naked for tomorrow’s shoot, which will again be “tastefully” done.
Despite the redo, the photos are still scheduled to run in Playboy’s January issue, provided the actress is not in jail at the time the magazine goes to print.
Her first shoot was supposedly full frontal, which means Hugh got a good look at her vagina and said “Hell, no.” Playboy’s passing on her puss. I guess no amount of Vaseline on the lens could salvage a herpes flare-up or a labial boil or two.

Last night, Kate Moss went on a bit of a bender and looked completely wasted in public both on the way to and from the 20th anniversary party for Dazed and Confused magazine, which was held at the W hotel in London. She was spotted leaving the event at 3am; earlier, Kate was photographed leaving St. Johns restaurant while still carting around her own glass of wine because … perhaps she was afraid there wouldn’t be enough liquor at the party?
Most high-brow parties don’t usually ask guests to bring their own wine. But that’s exactly what Kate Moss appeared to do last night when she arrived at the Dazed & Confused 20th birthday party in London.
Arriving at the plush W London Hotel in a sexy black mini-dress, the 37-year-old was carrying a glass of wine… presumably a souvenir from her dinner. Looking slightly worse for wear as she entered the W through the back door, she was accosted by a homeless man, who she was happy to talk to.
The supermodel had started off the night at an exhibition at Somerset House to mark the 20th anniversary of the hip publication. Then she popped on to a nearby restaurant before ending the evening at the W bar for the main Dazed & Confused 20th celebrations.
Moss was at the event to support ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Jefferson Hack, who founded the publication.

Quite often, I marvel at the genuinely friendly relationship that Kate continues to maintain with Jefferson Hack. Even though he is the father of her child, I can attest (probably along with many of you) that it’s exceedingly difficult to “like” one’s ex other than to fake it for the sake of the children. My guess is that Kate was the one who broke off the relationship, and (to an extent) Jefferson continues to worship La Moss. They hooked up after she first appeared in his magazine in the early aughts; after their split, Jefferson continued to support Kate’s career and even gave her the cover of Dazed in 2007 when she was preparing to launch her first Topshop high-street fashion line.
As for Kate’s drunken state last night, that’s merely how she rolls. The Mail tried to make a huge deal of her recent Jamaican vacation with friend Sadie Frost. That article described the getaway as necessary in terms of “marriage shock” (to Kills guitarist Jamie Hince) because Kate was supposedly sighted downing three beers for breakfast, but I doubt that’s the case. The Kills recently released their fourth album, so Jamie’s been touring like crazy for the past few months and shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.
In the meantime, Kate just likes her booze. She doesn’t eat much, and it doesn’t take much to get drunk on an empty stomach. I’d even be willing to wager that most of her daily caloric intake comes from wine, beer, and the regular gin and tonic. Somehow, Kate still ends up looking fabulous even in a very disheveled state. Kaiser, CB, and I are all crushing on her very 1990s outfit here. She’s wearing head-to-toe black while showing off her roots, unpolished nails, and very minimal makeup. Still, bitch looks good:
At a certain point between stops, Kate paused to talk to a homeless man, who asked her for money. Before Kate could comply, her friends dragged the supermodel away by yanking on her dress. I bet she’d have handed over a lot of cash in her inebriated state.

Johnny Depp worked the hell out of a blue suit at the Rum Diary premiere in London last night. I think he looks really good here, and like he’s almost back to his old self. It’s probably his perfectly tousled hair, his goatee that looks like it just sprung up unattended but was probably carefully cultivated, and the fact that he looks just like he used to. Remember his 2008 Oscar appearance with Vanessa Paradis? He looks the same here with a few extra pounds that he carries very well.
Johnny is still making headlines for being drunk a lot, just like his character in Rum Diary. In mid October we saw video of Johnny falling over drunk while trying to sign autographs, and at the NY premiere of the Rum Diary Johnny appeared drunk and at some points was held up by a bodyguard. As Evil Beet speculates, Johnny could simply have been acting wasted at the premiere to promote the film, in which his character is a raging alcoholic. This week’s In Touch asks if Johnny is out of control and quotes a “friend” who says that Vanessa is “disgusted” with his drunkenness. They use the photos of Johnny being held up by the bodyguard to illustrate their point.
Johnny Depp is a dedicated 48 year-old father of two. But lately, the former hell-raiser seems to be regressing to his hard-partying youth.
“Johnny mellowed himself out over the past 10 years,” a friend explains, even swearing off hard alcohol at the behest of longtime partner Vanessa Paradis. Now, the friend says, he’s fallen off the wagon - and it’s threatening to destroy his relationship.
“Johnny went on a spectacular bender recently while visiting LA. He was stumbling around and slurring his words.” Perhaps Johnny - currently promoting The Rum Diary… has just gone method? If so, he’d better shape up. “Vanessa is disgusted,” the friend says.

I believe that Johnny drinks a lot, and that he has been drinking as he’s doing promotion for Rum Diary. He was wasted during his Vanity Fair interview and he just did an interview with The Daily Mail in which he got drunk with the journalist and the screenwriter/director of Rum Diary, Bruce Robinson. (Shown below.) Robinson blamed Depp for convincing him to drink again after he was abstinent for six years. So it definitely sounds like Johnny loves getting drunk and shooting the sh*t with his friends. He looks sober here, though, and like he’s cool with promoting the film. Look at how cute he is kissing Amber Heard! (Kaiser reviewed her look here.) I bet they had a great rapport on set. If it’s true that his partner is “disgusted” that he’s getting so drunk, I hope everything is ok for him at home. Maybe he’s drinking because they’re having problems, and they’re having problems because he’s drinking. It can be cyclical that way.

Last night was the premiere of J. Edgar at the AFI Film Fest. All of the stars came out for the film except for Dame Judi Dench, who was in London doing press for the new James Bond film. Several of Clint Eastwood?s former stars and friends came out to celebrate his new film too - including Hilary Swank. This is Hilary?s first public outing since she got publicly slammed for attending the birthday party of a Chechen dictator, and accepting $1.5 million for the pleasure. Days after the scandal went international, Hilary canceled a charity appearance, claiming she was sick, but I guess she feels well enough to hang out with Clint Eastwood, right? Also, Bedhead reported earlier this week that Hilary fired her manager over the Chechnya incident, and now Entertainment Weekly reports that Hilary?s PR firm fired HER.
Hilary Swank?s bad month just got even worse. In the wake of the storm of bad press surrounding her paid appearance at a birthday event for Chechen president, and alleged human rights violator, Ramzan Kadyrov, the two-time Oscar winner has been dumped by her PR team at 42West, a source familiar with the situation confirms exclusively to EW.
The publicity firm parted ways with Swank over a disagreement on how best to deal with the fallout from the Oct. 5 event, which was also attended by Jean-Claude Van Damme, Seal, and English violinist Vanessa-Mae.
Earlier this week, it was widely reported that Swank fired her manager of eight years, Jason Weinberg, and two of his associates at CAA, though not her lawyer, Jeff Bernstein, who reportedly played a significant role in the Chechnya visit. Three weeks ago, Swank apologized for attending and promised to donate her fee to charity, but appeared to stop short of taking personal responsibility. ?If I had a full understanding of what this event was apparently intended to be,? she said, ?I would never have gone.?
Calls to 42West have not been returned, and Swank?s lawyer has not responded to a request for comment.

I?m not a big fan of making fun of someone?s overly-large forehead, because seriously, they can?t help it. Plus, I?m so opposed to bangs, I much rather see an adult woman?s forehead than have to look at some bangs trauma. In Tyra Banks?s case, I will admit that she generally looks better with a ?softer? hairstyle, anything less severe than this Croydon Facelift she was working at last night?s Keep A Child Alive Black Ball. Incidentally, most attendees wore white and black? but not TYRA. Of course not. She wore this cheap-looking purple gown and worked her forehead like a Kardashian. That?s who Ty-Ty reminds me of here - Kim Kardashian. Neither woman should wear their hair pulled back this tight EVER. It makes Tyra look like a Disney villainess.

I really didn?t expect the complete freakout over Reese Witherspoon?s python bag, and PETA?s public slamming of Reese for carrying a python and leather bag. Nor did I expect to be so soundly criticized for simply remarking that the bad was and is gorgeous (in my opinion) and I would love to own a purse that pretty. E?rybody FREAKED. Well, after PETA issued their fatwa against Reese for carrying the nearly $4000 Chloe python-and-leather bag, they?re now taking credit because Reese is apparently not going to use the bag anymore. What?s confusing is that I don?t think Reese promised anything or issued any kind of statement, she was just spotted out and about using another purse, this time a fabric purse.
Who wants to take Reese Witherspoon shopping for a new purse? At the insistence of PETA, the 35-year-old Oscar winner has hung up her Chloe purse for good. The python handbag, called the Paraty, retails for $3,820 on Net-a-Porter.
After Witherspoon was seen toting the bag around L.A., PETA sent her a video (ironically narrated by her Walk the Line costar Joaquin Phoenix) that highlighted the cruel methods used in the exotic-skins industry.
“We’ve long known Reese to be a kind person, so we’re pleased — and not surprised — that she is hanging up her python bag for good,” PETA told Gossip Cop in a statement.
“We hope Reese’s honest mistake will serve as a reminder for all of us to be extra-certain that what we?re buying is mock croc or fake snake.”
PETA later sent Witherspoon flowers after she vowed never to carry the purse again.
Where and how the Water for Elephants star got the Chloe bag remains a mystery: California banned the sale of snakeskin in 1970.

The more I see Amber Heard, the more impressed I am with her style skills. Either this girl has a righteous stylist, or Amber just has an other-worldly sense of what works on her body. I?m not saying that Amber is super-fashion forward, or that I want what she?s wearing. I?m saying that I wish I looked like her so I could dress like her. Her body is AMAZING. And the clothes she wears only accentuate and emphasize how crazy that body is. The face is? well, she?s giving me ScarJo vibes lately. Remember when Scarlett went too blonde for a while? Amber is doing that.
Anyway, these are photos of The Rum Diary UK premiere in London last night. Amber wore this shiny Alessandra Rich that could have easily looked cheap, but it?s tailored perfectly and her insane body makes the dress really, really work. She?s so sexy. I don?t know how popular this movie is going to be, but I hope Amber?s career is all uphill from here. I don?t even know if she can act. I just want her to go far so she?ll keep getting invited to red carpets.
I?m also including photos of Eva Green, who was at the premiere because?? I don?t know, maybe she?s friends with Johnny Depp. I haven?t written about Eva since that post about how I prefer to write about Eva so much more than the Kardashians. It?s still true, but all of you Kardash-haters out there just have to realize that this week was an anomaly for the excessive Kardashian coverage, because of Kim?s divorce. And no one is forcing you to read and comment on the Kardashian posts anyway! If you feel that strongly about it, take the effort to read and comment about other people, and soon the Kardashians will be phased out, you know? Here?s hoping. As for Eva, I love her beautiful face, and she?s got a killer body too. I?m not in love with the dress, though. I hate when skirts have those dual slits in front - it?s totally car wash to me. I like Eva?s leopard-print shoes, though.

The fiery redhead, who turned 44 on Oct. 28, is furious at herself for piling on 10 pounds while filming her role as the Evil Queen in the as-yet-untitled new “Snow White” movie.
And the mom of three is determined to trim down by pounding the pavement with pals. In fact, Julia was recently spotted looking winded after jogging with a companion near her Los Angeles home.
Her goal, say insiders, is to get as lean and mean as her six pack-sporting spouse, cameraman Danny Moder.
“Julia saw the photos of herself in the beach in Hawaii this past August and thought she looked pretty good in a bikini,” said an insider, “But standing next to Danny, with his taught stomach and muscular arms, she seemed completely out of shape in comparison.
“She told him, ‘It’s not fair that you get to look as good as you do without even trying, but I have to bust my ass just to lose a couple of pounds!’ After that, Julia was absolutely determined to look almost as toned was her hubby.”
According to the source, Julia’s biggest problem in her battle of the bulge is that she tends to eat whatever she wants when she’s working. And that’s exactly what happened while making “Snow White” in Montreal.
This isn’t the first time Julia has gained weight on a film set. The 5-foot-9 actress normall weighs between 125 and 130 pounds but balooned to nearly 150 by the time she’d finished filming “Eat Pray Love” on location in Italy in 2009. “In the scene with the pizza, we started shooting at eight in the morning and by 8:45 I’d eaten eight or 10 pieces of pizza,” she told a reporter.
But now she’s running like a madwoman and doing yoga three times a week to get back in fighting form.
Still, the sources says Julia has insisted to pals that she’s not weight-obsessed “like some people in Hollywood.” “I’ll never be a stick figure,” she admitted. “But I want to give Danny a run for his money!”

So is this story true? It’s not farfetched to believe that Julia gained a few pounds on her movie sets in recent years. Certainly, the lure of the everpresent crafts services table would be irresistable for most people, and eating pizza as a requirement for the job, well, that’s tough competition for an aging metabolsm. She probably does feel like a slouch next to her triathlete spouse, but Danny certainly works for his physique, and it never hurts anyone’s health to be in better shape. If that’s the inspiration that Julia needs to start working out, then she’ll be better for it in the long run. Maybe she’ll even get a serotonin rush or two and stop being so bitchy to her overweight sister too. Julia was photographed wearing compression pants on 9/14 although that could just be due to poor circulation, but it might also be a sign that she’s now obsessed with working out to the point of wearing them underneath her regular pants.

Yesterday, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were all on hand at Grauman?s Chinese Theatre to immortalize their hand and foot prints, in honor of Twilight. Kristen?s dress is Marios Schwab - why do girls wear super-short dresses when they know they?re going to be photographed squatting or bending over? I don?t get it. Anywa, I tried to find and crop some photos of Sparkles and Kristen looking at each other lovingly, but those were kind of hard to find. I suppose in addition to Kristen?s multitude of personality quirks and physical twitches, you?re also going to tell me that she OF COURSE has some kind of extreme light sensitivity, because in nearly all of the photos, she?s shielding her eyes from the sun, squinting unattractively or just closing her eyes. I would think that the sun was just really, really bright, but both Taylor and Sparkles managed to get through the ceremony without ruining every photo with their ?light sensitivity?.
But! There are still enough photos of Sparkles gazing lovingly as his beloved for me to think that they?re still together. I don?t think they?ll stand the test of time or even last much longer than a year more, but for now, they?re still together. I had been wondering about their couple status because Sparkles had been doing Breaking Dawn promotion with Ashley Greene, and that girl looked like she was ready to jump on some sparkle-dong. That?s what Star Mag?s story says this week - that Ashley is trying to get with Sparkles, and Kristen ?ordered? Sparkles to avoid Ashley like the whore plague.
While Kristen Stewart has been busy filming Snow White and the Huntsman in Wales, her Twilight costar has been getting close to her longtime love, Robert Pattinson.
?Now that Kristen?s gone, Ashley Greene is making moves on Rob,? an insider tells Star. The pair have been getting cozy while promoting Breaking Dawn: Part 1 abroad. And Rob isn?t exactly pushing Ashley away.
?His ego is getting stroked big time by Ashley - and he loves it!? says the insider, revealing that the on-screen brother and sister shared several intimate evenings together. ?They have been on romantic dates, just the two of them. Ashley is forward - she made it known that she wants something more than a friendship.?
But Kristen isn?t turning a blind eye to Ashley?s advances.
?Kristen has warned Rob to keep his distance from Ashley and she?s furious with him for not obeying,? says the source. ?Rob swears there is nothing going on, but Kristen is so upset that she?s saying she may dump him for good.?

I doubt Ashley is Sparkles type - yes, if we judge his taste in ladies from Kristen, we know he likes brunette bitches, which Ashley definitely fits. But we can also tell that he likes girls with some twitches, with some insecurities, which Ashley doesn?t have. Ashley is the closest thing to raw ambition out there. She doesn?t have time to twitch.

Wendy asked Brandi what LeAnn Rimes is like as a stepmother to Brandi and Eddie Cibrian?s two sons, and Brandi hedged and then replied, ?Overbearing.? LeAnn had a Twitter hissy fit, of course, and tweeted: ?I am his WIFE & their ?bonus mom? and it’s out of line after 3 years to continually discuss. Negativity does not help kids. While on the phone with him in NYC on October 24, LeAnn flew into a terrifying rage after a misguided Eddie - trying to play peacemaker - suggested that she call Brandi.
Although LeAnn?s rep denies the story, the insider says LeAnn cursed at Eddie for proposing she talk to ?that whore Brandi? on the phone.
?She was screaming and crying,? an insider tells In Touch. ?She just flipped out.?

Taking her turn on the late night talk show, Kristen Stewart was looking fabulous during her visit to NBC Studios in Burbank, CA on Thursday (November 3).
Fresh off her a hand and footprint ceremony alongside Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the Bella Swan beauty turned up for her "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" appearance clad in a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 RTW frock.
While Miss Stewart was on hand to promote her upcoming movie "Breaking Dawn - Part 1," she ended up chatting with the host about how Snow White smacked Thor.
Talking about working on the "Snow White" set, Kristen dished, "When they clash, it doesn't matter how many times he said watch this, be careful with this, don't hit him in the face - Chris Hemsworth - um, I wish I did."
A surprised Leno asked, "You hit Thor in the face?"
Taking her fist and popping her hand, Miss Stewart proudly boasted, "It made such a sound!" She added, "Girls, if you've ever wondered if it works, it works! It literally spun hm around."

The sighting comes just as it has been reported that Selena's stalker entered a not guilty plea in court - as she was threatened by Thomas Brodnicki, who revealed to a psychiatrist that he made several attempts to find Gomez at her place of work.
With the temporary restraining order put on him by Selena having been extended to three years, Thomas faces up to three years in prison if he's convicted in court.
He's schedule to appear back in front of the judge on November 16.
