Back in April of this year, Star Magazine reported that Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer were having some big marriage problems. Sources claimed that Jennifer was ?tired of his gambling? and she was irritated that he rarely ? if ever ? works these days. Tobey was one of the big names in several stories of the underground high-stakes poker games in LA, and it?s true, he doesn?t work that much. Still, I thought Jennifer and Tobey would stick together? simply because they are well-connected within that group. She?s part of the Hollywood Mommy Mafia, he?s friends with Leo. You get the idea. But no, according to People Magazine, they?re over.
Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer have called it quits. The two are separating after nine years of marriage, PEOPLE has confirmed exclusively. The ex-couple share two children: daughter Ruby, 9, and son Otis, 7.
?After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,? Maguire and Meyer said in a joint statement to PEOPLE. ?As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.?
Maguire, 41, and Meyer, 39 met in early 2003 and were married four years later in an intimate wedding ceremony in Hawaii attended by a small group of family and friends.

I?m not going to pretend that this is some mega-tragedy because I don?t really think people were super-invested in them as a couple. It?s sad for their kids, for sure. But Tobey seems like an a?hole and Jennifer? well, her family is profoundly wealthy and well-connected. She?ll be totally fine. She?ll get a great lawyer (probably Laura Wasser) and she?ll get everything. Tobey, on the other hand, will probably return to his P-ssy Posse days.

Is it necessary at this point to announce that Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are hosting the Country Music Association Awards? This is their ninth year hosting and not only do people love them together on stage, they have fallen into a comfortable groove with each other that allows for their one-liners and song parodies to usually hit their mark. The pressure is on, however, because this year is a pretty big year for the CMA Awards. Not only is it their 50th anniversary but, just six days after the CMA Awards take place on November 2, we elect a new President of the United States. Country music has many artists and fans who identify as conservative. So hosting duties could be tricky when taking on the current political climate. How does Carrie plan to approach this dilemma? She doesn?t. Carrie is opting to simply leave politics out of it.
Carrie Underwood is set to co-host the 2016 CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for the ninth consecutive year on Nov. 2. This year?s celebration marks 50 years of the awards show, and while the hosts are likely planning a banner opening monologue, the ?Dirty Laundry? singer insists politics is one topic she won?t be tackling.
?I prefer to stay away from politics,? Underwood told journalists at a recent press event, according to the Boot. ?This is country music, and we have 50 years to cover. So I feel like we?ll have lots to talk about, but I think it will be more geared to just us and what we do and all these legends that we have and people that have incredible talent that we have in our genre.?

It?s a safe answer but it’s also true. Carrie and Brad have been topical in their openings but generally politics only get a passing mention. Given this particularly contentious election, I am sure Carrie is thanking her lucky starts that this happens to be the 50th anniversary so they can stay the hell away from anything political. Instead, Carrie is focusing on highlighting the last 50 years of country music and pulling out all the stops – all of which are a big secret, of course. The event will be so big, Brad claims he will wear a tux. Since I have never seen Brad in anything but jeans, as Carrie said, ?We?ll see.? Many performers to the CMA Awards already and are expected to add many more. It should be a great show.
Like most of you, the election has taken its toll on me. Election years are usually my favorite but I need a break from this one. So if Carrie is telling me that I can watch the CMA Awards and be spared any political rhetoric for the evening, I may just watch them.
But just to clarify, Brad and Carrie walk the political tightrope but I doubt they will leave them out entirely:

Last week, actress Rose McGowan posted a series of tweets using the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport revealing that she’d been raped by a studio head. She called it an “open secret” in Hollywood and wrote that her ex had “sold our movie to my rapist for distribution.” Rose also tweeted that she consulted a criminal attorney, a woman, who told her that she wouldn’t win her case against the studio head because she’d done a sex scene in a movie. It was sad, it was sobering and it brought home how prevalent rape culture must be in Hollywood, and in our society. We’re talking about it now because of Trump, because so many people think that bragging about assaulting women is somehow men’s right or is normal. It’s not, it’s never ok, as we need to talk about it.
Rose issued a follow up last night in which she didn’t name her rapist but said that people in her industry know who she’s talking about and should be ashamed, essentially, if they continue to work with him. Here’s what she wrote.

Former star of The Hills, Kristin Cavallari, doesn’t vaccinate her kids, or at least she didn’t up until a couple of years ago when she said she didn’t. We know this because she admitted it and has defended herself by stating that vaccines cause asthma, allergies and ear infections. That’s just part of the reason why, when Kristin gives parenting and health advice, people roll their eyes and call her out for misinformation. A few month ago, Kristin touted a homemade baby formula made from goat’s milk and claimed that she used it to “avoid heavily processes store bought formula” and because her kids are sensitive to cow’s milk. In response, doctors warned people against using homemade formulas and said that making your own formula can lead to nutritional deficiencies in infants. In a new interview with People magazine, Kristin defended her homemade goat’s milk formula and said that it’s got oils in it, she ran it by her pediatrician and that there are a “million” recipes for it online so it’s got to be ok, right? She also said she breastfed her babies first and that the formula was only used later with them. Kristin has three children with her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. They have sons Camden, 4, and Jaxon, 2, and daughter Saylor, who turns one next month.
On the criticism for her homemade goat milk formula
I knew that was going to be controversial… I breastfed all three of my children. When I was done breastfeeding we made our own goat milk formula. It wasn’t just straight goat milk from a farm… people I think were under the impression that it’s like unpasteurized raw goat milk I was giving my children. We mixed in all kinds of oils, cod liver oil, all kinds of great stuff. We went over it with our pediatrician. If you go online there’s a million recipes for it. It’s worked great for all of my kids, they all have cow’s milk sensitivities. When I was done breastfeeding, instead of giving them cow’s milk or whatever we gave them goat milk. My only issue is do what’s best for you. What’s best for us isn’t necessarily best for you and that’s ok.
Is there a mom in the public eye you looked up to for this process?
Every single mom. I know how difficult it is to raise a kid in the public eye. It’s really tough and I think that’s why a lot of people want to keep their children private and don’t want to talk too much about ‘em. I mean I totally understand it. At the end of the day all of us moms and dads too I think we’re just trying to do the best job that we know how to do.

Kristin is framing this as a personal choice but she seems to conflate anecdotal evidence, which you can always find plenty of online, with actual science when it comes to raising her kids. While it is her choice, when she ventures into the “mommy advice” area, that’s when people (rightly) freak out. As people often say, I guess that’s why we don’t get health advice from reality stars. Also, I got the impression that she knows being a mom is her bread and (gluten free artisanal organic goats milk) butter and she’s not about to stop talking about her kids or posting photos of them. That’s her choice and it’s a valid one as opposed to some of the other things she frames as choices.
Update: Several of you have commented that as long as this formula is given after an infant is done breastfeeding, and after checking with a doctor, it may be ok. However I found multiple warnings against using homemade goat’s milk formula, including the British government, which advised mothers not to use it.

Nicole ?Snooki? Polizzi looks dramatically different than she did in her early Jersey Shore days. Unlike other reality stars, no one has to guess what work she?s had done because Snooki will flat out tell you. In the past, she admitted to diet pills helping her shed a few pounds and she will forever be a tanning beds strongest spokesperson. When it came to getting Botox, she didn?t just tell the world, she showed us via Snapchat. Snooki is 28 years old and mother to two children, Lorenzo, three, and Giovanna, one. After breastfeeding both babies, Snooki was not happy with how it left her boobs so she went under the knife for a lift and implants. In her latest #MomsWithAttitude episode on Awestruck, she proudly showed them off.
Snooki has something to get off her chest.
The ?Jersey Shore? alum, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, revealed that she had breast augmentation surgery bumping her up to a C cup size.
?I?m one week out of surgery, so they are very crazy,? the reality star admitted in an Awestruck video Friday. ?My nipples are, like, falling off. I look like Frankenstein right now.?
?Being a mom, obviously your boobs are destroyed after having kids, especially breastfeeding,? she explained.
?I breastfed Giovanna for a year. I want to look hot for my husband, but also want to feel great about myself and that was an insecurity that I had.?

If you aren?t familiar with Snooki and Jenni ?Jwoww? Farley?s #MomsWithAttitude, it?s not your usual mom show ? and I kind of love it. They show all their frustrations and missteps as parents in a really colorful way. I love Snooki doing crafts because she is quite creative but she doesn?t always have the time (or the patience) to execute the craft with precision so it ends up half-done with Snooki saying, ?Ta-da!?
I am sure there are many reasons both Snooki and JWoWW have had so much plastic surgery. Without much prior knowledge to either of them, the fact they are so upfront about it makes me believe they really are making tweaks for their own satisfaction in which case, I don?t have any problem with it. I completely get the boob thing. I lost my D cups to breastfeeding and I really miss them. I can?t believe a 28-year old would need that many fixes but as Snooki said, why not feel good now? Last December, Snooki and JWoWW made an episode devoted to plastic surgery. Snooki, who was getting her lips done again, admitted that you get it, it looks good and then you want more. She recognized that those thoughts will usually lead to overdoing it and she wants to avoid that pitfall. However, this is Snooki we’re talking about – subtlety is not her strong-suit.
