Gossips are speculating on a New Year?s baby for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. Although neither Ben nor Jen has confirmed their second child?s due date, from all appearances, Garner looks to be due any day now. Affleck and Garner checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning, OK! Magazine is reporting.
She’s been looking ready to pop for weeks, and now sources are telling OK! that Jennifer Garner paid a visit to an L.A. hospital on Wednesday, New Years Eve.
Jen, who’s expecting her second child with husband Ben Affleck (daughter Violet is 2), arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning holding protectively to her hubby’s arm. Could this just be a doctor’s visit or will the Afflecks be celebrating more than the dawn of a new year?

Daughter Violet just turned three years old in December, and always seems like the happiest, most joyful tot in all of Hollywood. Ben and Jen confirmed her pregnancy through her old Alias friend Victor Garbor this past summer. They haven?t confirmed the sex of the baby, or maybe they didn?t want to know. Considering Jen has looked ready to pop for about a month, chances are good that a New Year?s baby is on it?s way.

Honestly, only Amy could make this happen. While on vacation in St. Lucia in the Caribbean, Amy has found love. This time, it’s a resort employee named Matt who plays Santa Claus for the hotel. Witnesses say the two have really hit it off:
?He seems to be really easy going and funny, which Amy loves. She seems smitten. She slopes off with him whenever she can and they have been inseparable since meeting. They are about the same age and from what everyone has seen there is no doubt they have hit it off. Amy follows him around like an elf.?

“Like an elf”? It seems to me that Amy just needs someone to hang on. People have said that she and soon-to-be-ex Blake Civil Felder fed off of each other’s addictions, and falling for someone new so quickly would fall into this pattern. But maybe I’m being too cynical. While on vacation, she’s been photographed dancing around topless and seems to be healthier than her usual coked-out self. Personally, I don’t think she’s pregnant - her body’s just adjusting to a new lifestyle with real food and fewer drugs (I hope).
This may also mean that she’s treating herself better in the relationship department. She’s been in St. Lucia for quite a while, and this “Matt” fellow may even be the guy caught in these photos, but there’s no way to really know. The article quoted above says that when confronted, Matt called Amy “lovely” and said that the two are hard to spot together because they always sneak off to somewhere quiet. This is either a really good sign because she’s trying to keep her private life private, or a bad sign because they’re hiding and doing drugs. I really hope it’s the former. I also hope that Matt doesn’t turn out to be as big of a skeeze as Alex Haines, her most recent boyfriend, who sold his story to News of the World.

Cohen?s latest star turn will be the May 2009 release of Bruno, his follow-up to the hysterically funny hit 2006 film Borat. Unfortunately for Madge, Bruno thinks it?s cool to hijack African babies named David. Ruh-roh.
Cutting comic actor Sacha Baron Cohen, most famous for his Borat and Ali G characters, will make Madonna the butt of a series of cruel jokes in his new film Bruno (or, to give it its proper title, Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable In The Presence Of A Gay Foreigner In A Mesh T-Shirt).
The movie features the outrageously camp antics of Sasha?s latest favourite character, gay fashion journalist Bruno. A major plotline sees Bruno and his boyfriend adopting an African baby called David, who they then happily parade around the chic fashion capitals of the world.
The joke is an open slap at Madonna, who adopted Malawian tot David Banda. Sacha and Madonna became great mates a couple of years ago and he even featured as Ali G in the video for her hit single ?Music.?

Just reading the full title of the movie, I had a little giggle. But is it off-base to mock not just Madonna, but her son? And isn?t this ?African baby? joke a little…2006? And will Madonna be able to laugh at herself? Who knows? The weird thing is that, out of character, Cohen seems a lot like Madonna: smart, controlling, anal retentive. They?re pretty well matched, actually, and I bet that if Cohen had asked, Madonna would have done a cameo in Bruno. Unfortunately, I bet Sacha Baron Cohen is now dead to Madge, or at the very least, on notice.

If you had asked me at any point which of these two things Lindsay Lohan would most likely be doing, I’d have probably guessed wrong. Here she is at Miami Beach with Chloe Sevigny and some other people, and holy crap she’s got a lot of freckles. She’s kinda like an orange dalmation. I have no idea where Samantha Ronson was when these pictures were taken. Maybe she was arm-wrestling a trucker down at the stretch of beach where the weightlifters in mesh tank tops hang out.

John Mayer wants to avoid ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson at all costs. Jennifer Aniston’s main squeeze showed up at Gallery1988 in L.A. to support pal Pete Wentz’s art effort “Without You I’m Just Me,” but ditched out early upon hearing Jess would be making an appearance.
“John showed up early for the public viewing and took pictures with fans, but left before the VIP portion of the evening started,” an insider tells us. “He wanted to be there for Pete, but wanted more to avoid the possibility of a dramatic encounter with Jess.”

I didn?t realize Jessica Simpson was the dramatic encounter sort. She always struck me more as the crying in the bathroom type. Really, if John Mayer acted that way around every woman he?s ever dated, he could never leave the house. He either needs to stop man whoring around or at least man up enough to be in the same building as an ex.
In sort of related Mayer news, he and Jennifer Aniston are in Los Cabos right now ? though technically not together. Jennifer is staying at the same resort as Courteney Cox and David Arquette, while John is at a neighboring place with his two brothers. Nothing says romance like a whole hotel between two lovers.

Jeremy Piven hasn?t exactly been one of the most respected actors in Hollywood. Long before Sushigate, he was generally considered a legendary douche bag. In fact I think you could argue that he was lower on the totem pole than Brandon Davis or any of the guys from ?The Hills.? He was an epic player and a huge joke.
It?s hard to say what Piven?s mercury poisoning scandal has done to his reputation. It seems like most in Hollywood think it?s bull, but there are definitely some who feel compassion for him. But lest you forget that Piven is still a total sleaze, Gatecrasher has a little update on his love life.
Mercury is rising everywhere for Jeremy Piven these days, including his love life. The “Entourage” actor has found a brand-new girlfriend in blond stunner Ashley Chontos, a 23-year-old model-cum-bottle waitress at Mansion NYC who he met at Britney Spears’ birthday bash.
According to pals of Chontos, Piven is so crazy about the SUNY Binghamton dropout that he’s even planning on breaking tradition by taking her to the Golden Globes. For the past four ceremonies, he brought his mother, Joyce, but now he’s said to have arranged to fly Chontos to the West Coast on Jan. 10.
Despite Piven’s obvious interest, an insider tells us that the ex-Choice Model was actually runnerup for the actor’s affections. “Jeremy met several girls at Britney’s birthday party,” the source says. “He was really interested in a model who happens to be Ashley’s direct competition, but he was so insistent in his pursuit that he freaked her out. She stopped returning his calls, so he settled for Ashley in the long run.”
Says another source: “He’s a numbers boy. He gathers up girls’ numbers when he’s out. That night, he sent out a mass text to everyone he’d met, saying, ‘Come to my room - whoever responds first gets me for the night.’”

That is one of the sleaziest things I?ve ever heard. I couldn?t care less about Piven?s love life ? he?ll be dating Chontos for a maximum of three more weeks. His ?long run? is under a month. But texting all the women you meet in one night and trying to get them all to make a mad dash to your hotel room is super creepy. I cannot imagine how it?d feel to know the only reason you were sleeping with someone was because you got there first.
I wonder if Piven texts his remainders to let them know not to show, or if he has to field knocks on his door all night long. How creepy. I?d feel sorry for Ashley Chontos, but I?m sure she knows what she?s getting into. Unfortunately I bet Piven will leave her with some parting gifts.

Charles Barkley was arrested for DUI in Arizona last night. From People:
Police say they noticed Barkley, 45, running a stop sign in the Old Town section of Scottsdale at about 1:30 a.m. Officers pulled Barkley over, took him to a nearby mobile command post, and administered a blood test after declining to submit to a breath test, according to Gilbert, Ariz., police Lt. Eric Shuhandler.
Barkley was issued a citation for driving while impaired and released pending the results, which normally takes about a week, Shuhandler said.
I don’t really know much of anything about Charles Barkley because I don’t give a shit about basketball, but here’s the other noteworthy blurb from People’s story about this:
Barkley, who gained notoriety for a quick temper and blunt language during his years as an NBA player, represented the United States in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. In October, he announced that he would be a candidate for governor of his home state of Alabama in 2014.
I see. This explains everything. An arrest record could only help someone running for public office in Alabama, after all.

Remember the show “Trading Spaces”? With the switching houses and the uglification and lowering of your friends’ and neighbours’ property values? Well anyway, Doug Wilson, one of the designers from that show, was arrested last night for DUI in Illinois. From E! Online:
According to a spokeswoman for the Decatur County Jail, Wilson was pulled over at approximately 1 a.m. after he failed to yield to a police vehicle, which had its lights and sirens wailing.
The cops took the interior designer into custody and charged him with all sorts of infractions: aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, failing to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle and unlawful transportation of alcohol. He was booked into Decatur County Jail and released on $1,000 bond a few hours later.
I didn’t really like that lame “Trading Spaces” show and I barely remember who this dude even is, but this story is funny/not funny because seriously — what is with all these idiot celebrities tooling around wasted the week of New Year’s? Who does that? There are cops everywhere the week of New Year’s! It’s the worst time of year to engage in illegal vehicular shenanigans! Besides, famous people should have plenty of money to hire drivers every damn day of their lives, so I don’t understand why they’re always getting arrested for DUI. I don’t want to alarm anyone, but I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that 98% of celebrities are functionally retarded.

According to Star?s cover story, Nicole Richie is going to celebrate baby Harlow?s first birthday by trying to get pregnant with her second child. For some reason, it has the rare whiff of truth, even though it?s Star. Richie seems like an excellent mother who has shunned the drug usage and partying ways of her youth, and would most likely be open to another baby. Harlow?s father, Joel Madden might be a different story, though.
It’s baby time again for Nicole Richie and her rocker boyfriend, Joel Madden! As their daughter Harlow gets ready to celebrate her first birthday, reformed party girl Nicole is taking vitamins, eating healthy and designing trendy maternity wear in preparation for her second pregnancy.
“Nicole simply told Joel that she wants another baby ?right away,” a friend confides to Star. “He was a little overwhelmed at first, but now he’s with her 100 percent. They’re both thrilled about adding to their family.”
And, after overcoming a rocky period in their relationship, the couple seems to be in a good place to expand their family. Nicole and Joel went through a “rough patch, but now things are amazing between them,” says a source. “Nicole knows it’s because they’re both so happy with Harlow, and she truly believes another baby will double their commitment.”

Did Nicole and Joel really hit a rough patch? Maybe - sometimes they do seem at odds, and ever since Harlow?s birth, Nicole has seemed much more engaged in parenthood, while Joel seems to be going on the never-ending tour. They were going to get married at some point, and then they weren?t, and then Nicole maybe moved out, and then she didn?t. Their relationship seems to provide a lot of drama, and maybe Nicole thinks another baby will settle things down. I bet Joel?s not into it, though. Honestly, I?m surprised they?ve lasted this long.
Note by Celebitchy: These two seem pretty stable to me, and I bet that both of them want another baby, not just Nicole. An earlier story in the National Enquirer had Joel begging Nicole to have another baby while she told him he better marry her if he wanted more kids. The tabloids make stuff up all the time so who knows what’s really going on. They’re not married, but they seem perfectly happy and I would bet they’ll be together for a while. Everyone has a different impression though obviously.

Dane Cook’s half-brother, Darryl McCauley, has been in charge of Dane’s finances since the 90’s, but today he’ll in all likelihood no longer hold that esteemed position. That’s because according to TMZ, Darryl was arrested and charged with three counts of larceny and forgery. Darryl allegedly faked a $3 million check and gave himself an early or late Christmas present. The Boston Globe goes into more detail saying Darryl bilked Cook out of his money over the past 18 months.
As business manager, he would manage his client’s financial affairs, including the receipt and payment of bills, and the receipt and deposit of income and revenue from various businesses his client controlled.
Between July 2007 and December 2008, prosecutors say, McCauley stole millions of dollars from his former client’s business accounts by transferring funds to his own personal accounts. In one instance, he allegedly forged Cook’s signature for a $3 million check from the entertainer’s account to himself.
McCauley used the money for personal use, Coakley’s office said, and an investigation is ongoing.
Darryl probably didn’t even need to steal from Dane. They seemed pretty close so Dane would have given him whatever he needed. Maybe not $3 million or however much he was stealing, but maybe another cheeseburger to go with his extra value meal. But absolutely no supersizing. Let’s not get too crazy.

I live in Minnesota and it’s -15 Fahrenheit here right now, so I would be at least halfway inclined to believe I’ve been cursed by fate to suffer, if not for the upliftingly hilarious fact that Dane Cook’s brother is being arraigned today for stealing a shit ton of money from him. The older half-brother of Dane Cook was charged yesterday with stealing millions of dollars from the Massachusetts-based actor-comedian over the past 18 months while serving as his personal business manager.
Darryl McCauley, 43, is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Woburn District Court on charges of larceny, forgery, and larceny by continuous scheme. He was arrested at his Wilmington home yesterday by State Police.
I goddamn hate Dane Cook because he is one of the unfunniest people on the planet, so each and every news story about misery befalling his douchetard ass warms the cockles of my cold, dead heart. The only way this would be better is if he were hit by lightning at some point, or maybe if he got evicted again.

I don’t think anyone really gives a crap about Matt Dillon, but apparently it’s still newsworthy that he was arrested for driving like the back end of his car was on fire and he was trying to race away from it. From People:
On Tuesday night, the actor, 44, was pulled over in Newbury, Vt., after state troopers clocked him driving 106 mph in a 65 mph zone.
Dillon, who was driving a rented 2009 Chevy Impala, was taken to a station in nearby Bradford, where he was photographed, fingerprinted and given a citation.

Paris Hilton is in Australia for a paid appearance for New Year’s Eve. While visiting the continent she’s doing what she does best - shopping. Instead of accepting that shopping is an inevitable part of Paris’ life/media cycle - she shows up to promote stuff, makes money and then spends it - the Australian press is pointing out all the charities she could have supported with the coin she dropped in less than an hour. That’s about as foreign to Paris as suggesting she would have better spent the time educating herself.
The hotel heiress arrived yesterday morning and wasted little time before hitting the upmarket Wayne Cooper boutique in South Yarra, where she spent $5560 in 40 minutes.
World Vision Australia chief Tim Costello said Hilton’s spree would have been enough to feed a Third World village.
“In World Vision terms, $5000 would ensure that a village of 2000 people in Africa or Asia would have clean water for the rest of their lives,” Mr Costello said.
Open Family social worker Les Twentyman said Hilton’s spree was disgraceful.
“It is quite obscene spending money like that. Some people are homeless and thousands of people a week are losing their jobs and it is quite obscene in some ways,” Mr Twentyman said.
As they hit out, Melbourne’s retailers and hospitality industry bent over backwards trying to meet her demands.

Remember when Paris went on Larry King after she got out of jail a year and a half ago and told him she was going to work with charities and stuff now that she was a changed person? Paris told King that children, breast cancer, and multiple sclerosis were the charities she was interested in supporting. She did appear in those weird nude ads for a water campaign started by a corporation and she showed up to some charity events. She even donated to a children’s hospital this summer. Paris has made some strides in the charity department, but she still doesn’t come close to rivaling her former BFF Nicole Richie, who started her own foundation. Maybe Paris will take some time off shopping to start thinking harder about how to help others instead of pondering which flashy dresses look best on her rail thin frame. She’s still got a few hours left to take advantage of the tax benefits for 2008.

TMZ reports that 45 year-old retired NBA player Charles Barkley has been arrested and released on suspicion of DUI. The sports commentator was stopped at a mobile DUI checkpoint in Arizona this morning and was seen getting blood drawn. He was then released and took a taxi home.
There are pictures on TMZ but not much more information about it. While Barkley looks sober enough you can’t really tell from photos. He’s probably awaiting the results of the bloodwork that will determine whether he will be officially charged.
The guy is 6?6? tall and he’s gained some weight since his professional career ended in 2000. It must take a lot to get him drunk and maybe he had some drinks that led police to suspect he was intoxicated but it’s possible he wasn’t over the legal limit of .08 in Arizona.
Barkley played professional basketball for 16 years, from 1984 to 2000. He was known for his skill and domineering personality on the court and his fights with other players. In 1993, Barkley famously said that sports stars shouldn’t be role models. He claimed that it wasn’t realistic for children to aspire to become high paid professional players and that “A million guys can dunk a basketball in jail; should they be role models?”
Since retiring, Barkley has admitted to gambling away millions of his earnings. He claims it’s not a problem for him as he has the money to waste.
Barkley has announced that he intends to run as an Independent for governor of his home state of Alabama in 2014 after he completes the seven year residency requirements for a run. If he ends up having a DUI on his record it’s not going to bode well for his campaign no matter how well known he is.

Madonna?s charitable donations from 2007 are slowly coming to light. Fox news notes that despite donating $2.6 million to Kabbalah through her Ray of Light Foundation, she failed to donate any money to Malawi that year. Madonna’s tax records do not show any donations to her Raising Malawai foundation or to other charities benefiting Malawai. They find this surprising because 2007 is the year that she adopted David Banda from the impoverished nation.
In hard numbers, Madonna really showed her devotion to the group ? a total of $2,626,529 to the Kabbalah Center itself and another $4,025 to the group?s offshoot, Spirituality for Kids. The latter likely represents her promised donation from royalties from her children?s books.
More interestingly, Madonna gave no money to her other charity, Raising Malawi, in 2007, even though that was the year she adopted little David Banda from that country. The tax filing wasn?t submitted to the IRS until June 2008, so it could have been amended to show Madonna?s appreciation to the African country for letting her change their adoption laws. She sent zero dollars to any groups currently working in Malawi.
In fact, considering that Madonna made a documentary about Malawi and threw a fundraiser for her cause last February with Gucci and UNICEF, it does seem a shade odd that she didn?t spread her wealth to a region that so needs it. The whereabouts of that $3.7 million that was claimed from that fundraiser still have not been reported. When they file their Form 990s, it will be interesting to see if that?s where Madonna?s Kabbalah money went.

Madonna?s Ray of Light Foundation is a charity she established herself, which she funds herself, to donate to causes she deems important. Some of the money comes from book royalties, but it is not publicly funded by donations. She also owns shares, which she uses returns from to fund various causes. While most of us wouldn?t really consider Kabbalah a charity, if this is how Madonna wants to spend her money it’s her prerogative.
Raising Malawi is funded by donations, and is a separate charity to the Ray of Light Foundation. The tax details for this organization, as Fox news itself points out, may not yet have been filed. This charity was formed by Madonna and Michael Berg in 2006, the tax she is filing is for the 2007 year. The details for these donations may not be available yet.
Madonna also donated $250,000 to AIDS causes from her Ray of Light Charity, so while much of it went into Kabbalah, some of it did filter down to more traditional charities. They include cancer research, Jewish Big Brothers and Sisters, and a group that builds playgrounds in Russia. All in all, worthwhile causes.
Note by Celebitchy: Earlier reports had Raising Malawai accepting donations through Kabbalah and using the same tax identification number and mailing address as the controversial religion. When Madonna was criticized for this, she countered that the application for a separate tax ID for the Raising Malawai charity was in process. It’s possible that in 2007 they were essentially the same organization and that all donations were funneled through Kabbalah. That would explain why Madonna made no obvious donations to Raising Malawai. It also makes her unaccountable for the nearly $4 million from that celebrity attended Gucci fundraiser she held earlier this year unless she had the sense to make sure Raising Malawai is a separate organization for 2008. Maybe it’s much easier for her, and for the Kabbalah bigwigs, if it isn’t.

It must be hard to be rich and famous sometimes- you never really know who you can trust. In Dane Cook’s case, it appears that the comic can’t even trust his own brother. Cook has employed his brother as his financial and business manager since his career started taking off in the late 90s. But it looks like his brother decided to pay himself with some of Dane’s millions without keeping him in the loop - and now the cops are involved.
Talk about keeping it in the family — sources tell TMZ Dane Cook’s brother (who was also his business manager) has been arrested for allegedly stealing millions from the comedian.
Darryl McCauley — who was in charge of Cook’s financial affairs since the 90s — was arrested today by the Massachusetts State Police and charged with three counts of larceny and forgery.
Authorities say in one case, Dane’s bro forged a $3 million check and deposited it in his account.
McCauley will be arraigned tomorrow in Woburn District Court.

If only this were the first instance of something like this- but it isn’t. Lots of celebs end up being fleeced by family or close friends. For Dane, it probably couldn’t come at a worse time. His last movie, “My Best Friend’s Girl,” was a total flop, and his once record-breaking career as a stand-up comedian seems to have faded. Now, he’s more often the butt of other comedian’s jokes than the joke man. There’s no word on who turned Daryl into the authorities or how Cook discovered the missing $3 million. But I’m sure this is going to make the next family get-together more than a little awkward.
