As I?ve said before, I don?t really care for Emma Roberts. She comes across as ?bratty? to me. I?ve always wondered if I?m alone in my gut-level ?nope? for Emma?s career and celebrity status. As it turns out, I?m not. According to Star Magazine, Emma just doesn?t have the likeable, marketable appeal that a young starlet needs to have to be the face of a major advertising contract. When younger girls and women see that Emma is hawking a product, the collective reaction is ?meh.?
Emma Roberts may have an A-list pedigree, but thanks to her bad reputation and volatile attitude, not even her famous family can help her land a lucrative endorsement deal.
?When Emma was the brand ambassador for Neutrogena, it only grew by 0.5 percent,? reveals an insider close Roberts. ?But Jennifer Aniston boosted Aveeno?s sales by 8 percent. Emma either isn?t as famous as she thinks, or just isn?t perceived as likeable enough.?
Emma?s 2013 arrest for domestic violence against boyfriend Evan Peters isn?t helping either.
?It put a chill on her reputation,? adds the spy, noting that much to Emma?s ire, comparable stars like Bella Thorne and Jamie Chung regularly land endorsement deals and rake in big money. ?She needs to focus on having a hit movie and clean record before a company will take a chance on doing a collaboration with her.?

While she loathes discussing her brief arrest for domestic violence, it did happen and it probably did affect her career and her reputation. Although? her interviews don?t help either. She always sounds so full of herself, which is classic second-generation Hollywood. Born on third and she thinks she hit a triple. That being said, she is ?the face? (or the chest) of Aerie lingerie, the in-house lingerie for American Eagle. And that?s her only advertising contract. Which is sort of funny to me. Kylie Jenner can get $1 million from Puma and Emma Roberts can?t even get a measly Lancome contract?!

There were a couple of music awards shows this weekend, both the American Country Countdown Awards, which aired on Fox, and The Radio Disney Music Awards, which were on Disney. The American Country Countdown Awards are based on record sales, so the big winners were popular artists like Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Chris Stapleton. The breakthrough awards went to Sam Hunt and Kelsea Ballerini. You can see a full list of winners on People.com. Matthew McConaughey and Terry Crews were among the presenters.
Carrie Underwood wore this white and watercolor print Gauri & Nainika “bridal illusion gown” on the red carpet. Of course she had a bunch of other costume changes during the ceremony, some more fug than others. I don’t know whether to admire or make fun of this gown (above). There’s a gazelle on the bodice, some kind of abstract pattern on the tulle, and the tiered skirt is huge. It’s both weird and pretty at the same time. I do like her styling, I’ve noticed the wavy lob is popular lately. If you find this dress bizarre, wait until you see her performance outfit:

The gladiator shoes just make that outfit, right? I believe this Star Trek school girl dress is Rocky Gathercole. That’s what she wore to perform “Church Bells,” and you can see that video on JustJared.
And she wore this dress too, it’s like art deco meets disco. At least they could have made the colors complementary. (Update: this dress, and the orange and green one she’s wearing below, are both by Elie Madi.)

Here are some other attendees including Jennifer Nettles in a silver striped Genny suit, Jana Kramer in a blush Hayley Paige bedazzled romper, and Kelsea Ballerini in a Pink and floral applique Georges Hobeika gown. They’re all rather fug, with the exception of Nettles’ suit. Oh and Carrie wore yet another weird dress in the press room because of course she did.

Gwen Stefani rocked the red carpet at Saturday night’s Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles in a colorful Olympia Le Tan dress and simple black Louboutin pumps. I love the front of this dress, it really kind of fits well with a Disney event, and you can never go wrong with a black Louboutin pump, but the back of the dress makes me think one of two things. Either the designer got tired and couldn’t be bothered to do anything on the back, or that the whole thing was a last-minute idea. Regardless, I dig the dress and I covet that hairdo.
Gwen, who attended the ceremony with Blake Shelton, surprised fans on the red carpet by posing with her adorable 6-year-old niece Stella. Stella looked adorable in a romper and cowboy boots. The kid is no stranger from being in front of the camera, having modeled some fashions from Aunt Gwen’s kids’ line last year. Gwen kept Blake on the back burner during much of the ceremony, posing for pictures with young fans in the audience – with Blake conveniently cut out. Somehow, I think Blake was okay with this.
Gwen performed her catchy hit “Make Me Like You” at the ceremony and was presented the “Hero” award from her Voice co-star Pharrell Williams. Pharrell said “I’m proud to be here tonight to present the 2016 Ardy ‘Hero’ Award to not only someone I work with, recorded with, who I know, and what my brother, Blake Shelton, knows, truly has a heart of gold.” When Gwen came up to receive her award, Blake got the crowd to their feet for a standing “O” for his lady love. I know a lot of you are tired of Gwake, but I find that sweet. Gwen, who didn’t prepare a formal acceptance speech, was super gracious on stage. Here are some highlights from her speech:
Let’s get something straight. This [Williams] is my hero, right here, one of my biggest heroes is this guy! I love you so much! This is crazy that this is happening to me! I never thought, I mean who am I, that I would ever make a difference? I am so honored to be here, I am so honored to be making music,” she said. “I am so blessed to be making music that I can share with you and that I can receive your love back. I am so healed by you!

Is it weird that Gwen is getting a “Hero” award so soon? I guess at 46, a “hero” award from the Disney crowd is like a lifetime achievement award at the Grammys.
This award is the latest event in what has been a busy couple of months for Gwen, and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. She’s taking her This is What the Truth Feels Like Tour on the road this summer with special guest Eve. There’s also the rumor the Gwen and Blake are going to tie the knot soon. As always, I am happy for Gwake, but I hope they take their time with the relationship and enjoy what they’ve got.
