Jennifer Love Hewitt’s fiance, Brian Hallisay, is being investigated after he beat up a photog. Maybe “beat up” isn’t the right phrase. It’s more like got into a shoving match with a photog which made him hit himself in the eye with his camera.
Reports say Hewitt and Hallisay were leaving Toscana in Brentwood when a photog came up to them to take pictures. The two told him to back off but he ignored them.
Hallisay then got in his face and during a “scuffle” the cameraman got hit near the eye with his own camera.
Hewitt felt bad so she let the paparazzo snap a few more shots before leaving. Since this guy is a photog, he then went to the police and filed a battery report against Hallisay. Sources say there were no visible injuries to his face or eye and that he’s just a big, whiny baby. “Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?,” Hallisay should have said to him.

Bringing an end to Faith Hill?s six-year reign as the opening voice for Sunday Night Football, Carrie Underwood unveiled her new theme song last night (September 8).
The ?Blown Away? babe was featured in a new video singing the song ?Waiting All Day for Sunday Night? as football players and action sequences flashed in the background.
Back in April, Ms. Hill announced that she would be resigning her post, and Underwood?s fans were thrilled to hear that she would serve as replacement.

I don?t actively dislike Vanessa Hudgens. It?s gotten to the point where I sort of half-way admire her. I thought she would be a non-entity by now, unable to get movie roles and just some C-lister who goes to the opening of an envelope for attention. And while there is some of that in Vanessa, she?s also been working steadily for the past few years. Of course, she?s never really had any kind of breakout role and I can?t imagine she?s first on any casting director?s list of 20-something actresses, but still. She has tenacity and ambition. But just how much tenacity and ambition do you need before you cross the line into ?Lindsay Lohan-level delusion?? Vanessa covers the October issue of Marie Claire, and she says that her goal in life is to get an Oscar. ORLY?
She doesn?t worry about the paparazzi: ?A sense of knowing I?m part of something bigger than myself has allowed me to enjoy life more. And not worry about the little things. Like paparazzi.?
Close friend, Selena Gomez on Hudgens: ?She?s not jaded at all. The person you see and talk to is the same person I talk to.?

Never say never, I guess. I mean? ugh. No. She?s never going to get an Oscar. I am 99.99% certain of that. I?m certain that she?ll never even be nominated for an Oscar. But should we just take that statement as-is, just accept that she has an unreasonable goal? We all have to reach for the stars and have unreasonable dreams, I suppose. I?m never going to be a princess with a sideline career as a rock star. I came to that realization a long time ago, but I can still have fun with the idea. Eh, Vanessa is harmless.

This is a photo of Miley Cyrus on the German TV show “Schlag den Raab” where she performed “We Can’t Stop” with a band full of little people. If you’re curious, EW.com has video of the act. I think this performance was supposed to be shocking. Miley is wearing Tom Ford and vintage Chanel to continue working her “white trash and Chanel” vibe. She’s only pulling off the “trashy.”
Now onto slightly more interesting fare. Late last week, Lainey posted a blind item that seemed to point towards Miley losing a much coveted Vogue cover. This is a believable story as it follows the lead-up with Miley scoring a September couture spread for Harper’s Bazaar. Yes that spread was shot by Terry Richardson and looked like a bad R. Kelly video, but it increased Miley’s fashion portfolio. That shoot — along with Miley’s punky win at the Met Gala — convinced Anna Wintour to give Miley a shot. Now we have confirmation via The Mail’s Sunday diary that Miley was scheduled for the December Vogue cover. She did the shoot and everything. But it’s all over now. Thanks to Miley’s VMA twerking, Wintour is reshooting with another model:
Miley Cyrus?s crude dance at the MTV Video Music Awards has cost her the coveted cover slot on American Vogue.
The 20-year-old, right, was photographed for the December issue as editor-in-chief Anna Wintour had been eager to champion her as a new fashion icon.
But she soon changed her mind after witnessing the singer perform her overtly sexual routine in latex bra and knickers.
“Anna found the whole thing distasteful,” a source says. “She decided, based on Miley?s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.”

Man, this doesn’t look good for Miley. Both of her major chart rivals of the moment, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, have each done their own Vogue covers. Miley was playing out of her league, but Anna was willing to give Miley a shot. Yet Miley preferred to make momentary history with a quick attention grab. Too bad.
Meanwhile, Miley is still twerking it up with this caption to one of her Facebook photos: “I always knew I’d see my name in lights.” Miley doesn’t care that you’re talking badly about her. All she wants is for you to keep talking. Richard Simmons says Miley just “needs to be loved.” Are you still listening, Liam Hemsworth?

Rounding out the weekend with some promotional duties, Reese Witherspoon attended the premiere of her new flick ?The Devil?s Knot? at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday night (September 8).
The ?Walk The Line? actress looked fabulous as she hammed it up at The Elgin Theater with Colin Firth, Stephen Moyer, Mireille Enos, and Collette Wolfe.
Per the synopsis, ?The savage murders of three young children sparks a controversial trial of three teenagers accused of killing the kids as part of a satanic ritual.?
Directed by Atom Eyogan, ?The Devil?s Knot? is slated to hit theaters nationwide later this fall.

The eternally loveable Pink covers the October issue of Women’s Health magazine. I’m glad to see she ditched those long hair extensions from several months ago. She looks so much more like herself with this short, cropped ‘do. Miley may have tried to co-op this same hairstyle, but it will always belong to Pink.
This photoshoot looks fantastic. Pink also reveals she works very hard to stay in shape. She says she works out five times a week, and her routine includes circuit training and running intervals. She shakes things up with hot yoga — that’s Bikram yoga, right? (I can never keep yoga varieties straight.) Pink freely admits she has to work her ass off at fitness. For once, we’re not hearing that light yoga or occasional pilates sessions simply melt off the pounds. Pink refuses to fake anything including her fitness:
Her fitness practices: “My favorite workout right now is hot yoga, but my favorite workout in general is my show, being onstage because I get to have fun while I’m sweating! Don’t even know how many calories I’m burning!”
Hot yoga is the hardest: “I had to sit down four times and really decide who I am and whether I wanted to stay.”
Her fears: “I’m afraid of spiders. I am afraid of sharks. I’m afraid of the world running out of cheesecake, especially Cheesecake Factory. And then I would also have to be afraid of the world running out of key limes because key lime cheesecake is the best kind of cheesecake there is.”
Keeping a realistic body image: “I’d love to be 10 pounds thinner, but it’s not in the cards for me. And I’m totally OK with that.”
On risk taking: “One of the most daring things I’ve ever done is skydive, and that’s because [her husband, motocross champ] Carey [Hart] surprised me with it and I had no choice. But then I did it twice; the second time is much more enjoyable. Another daring thing I did was marrying Carey Hart.”

I think Pink’s attitude about her weight is a healthy one. Many of us feel the same way about being 10 pounds lighter. Then we reconsider the matter when it comes to giving up our guilty pleasures. Like, I keep thinking losing 10 pounds would help me be a faster runner but the struggle isn’t worth it to me. When it comes to choosing between ice cream or being 10 pounds lighter, the ice cream wins every time.

Here are even more fashion photos from TIFF. Keira Knightley flew in from Venice (where she seemed to be just making paid appearances at a variety of promotional parties/events) to promote Can A Song Save Your Life? That?s the film she did with Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. Ruffalo wasn?t there (but Adam Levine was), so Keira had to work extra-hard to promote the film, which seems to be getting decent-to-good reviews.
Keira wore this Mary Katrantzou dress which? I really thought was a repeat. It feels like Keira has worn this before, right? But everybody says it?s new and that she?s never worn this before. I think it feels so familiar because this is one of Keira?s favorite silhouettes ? the strapless princess gown with a full (or full-ish) skirt and a fitted bodice. It?s a very Audrey Hepburn look, which makes sense because Keira has a very similar figure to Audrey. I think Keira looks very pretty here, but I would love to see her mix it up a little bit more ? she?s so slim and many designers would consider the perfect ?hanger? for all kinds of clothes. She doesn?t need to keep doing this princess dresses.
More photos? Tom Felton and his girlfriend Jade Olivia, both in Burberry. I LOVE HER DRESS. I don?t even know who Jade Olivia is at all, but she looks amazing in that dress.
Ralph Fiennes and Felicity Jones at a photocall for their movie The Invisible Woman. That?s the film where he?s playing Charles Dickens. Felicity plays Dickens? young lover/girlfriend. I don?t care for her outfit, but she would have made a great Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades.
Elizabeth Olsen promoting Therese, wearing a Proenza Schouler Resort 2014 sack dress. This thing is awful! So unflattering, so shapeless, and those shoes are hideous.
Lupita Nyong?o in a gorgeous shift dress at a TIFF party. God, she?s so beautiful. She?s one of those women who could wear a burlap sack and she would still look amazing. I call that ?The Blanchett Quality?. This dress could be some cheap little thing from Target and Lupita makes it looks so rich and exquisite. If I was a designer, I would be falling all over myself to dress Lupita.

Here we have photos from two premieres at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend: Dallas Buyer’s Club, featuring Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey, and Prisoners, with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Of the two, Dallas Buyers Club is getting more advance buzz, with McConaughey’s performance receiving a standing ovation at TIFF. In this adaptation of a true story, McConaughey plays an AIDS patient who set up a patient-run HIV prescription drug smuggling ring in the 1980s. He of course lost 50 pounds for the role and it’s definite Oscar bait.
At the TIFF premiere, Garner was wearing a nude and red lace Dolce & Gabbana dress paired with matchy Brian Atwood pumps. I like the fit of the dress but I’m divided on whether I like this look. The two fabrics look bizarre together. Maybe if the base color didn’t match her skin tone so closely the dress would have popped more. Overall she’s gorgeous as usual though. Look at how comfortable Garner and McConaughey look together. This isn’t their first movie together, they also co-starred in 2009?s Ghosts of Girlfriends past, remember that God-awful movie? I tried to watch it with a friend and ended up falling asleep. Maybe it redeemed itself at the end, I have no idea.
I love me some Matthew McConaughey but his orange makeup and barely there scruff is throwing me off here. He still looks very thin to me too.
Look at their co-star Jared Leto’s glorious ombre hair. I swear that’s a weave. Leto plays a transsexual in the film. He lost 30 pounds for the role, which he’s since gained back.
We don’t have as many photos of the Prisoners premiere so I’m including them at the end. Its a kidnap drama in which Jackman’s character goes vigilante when his daughters are taken. Here’s a link to the trailer, it looks intense. The film also features Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Viola Davis and Terrence Howard.
Maria wore this blue silk suit with navy Louboutin pumps and a navy shirt. What was she thinking? Her hair is cute though, I like that so many celebrities are getting this easy bob.
Hugh in need of a shave. He just got rid of his Wolverine beard, he must be missing it.
Jake Gyllenhaal is not doing much for me. Why so somber, Jake?

I forgot that Gravity was coming to TIFF just after the big premiere in Venice last week! George Clooney was not in attendance at the TIFF premiere though ? I wonder why? I think he was scheduled to appear, but I guess he pulled out?? So we just have photos of Sandra Bullock. Which is still pretty great. Sandy wore this Narciso Rodriguez dress to last night?s premiere. You know what? I like it. I like that Sandra seems to have finally figured out her style to a certain extent. She?s been gravitating more towards clean, minimalist looks the past few years and it?s such an improvement. The color-blocking is okay here ? it?s done well, so I approve. Her shoes are Christian Louboutin ?Geo?. Last thing: Sandy has one thing in common with Gwyneth Paltrow ? the center-part rut. Try a side-part!
Thandie Newton at the premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun. She wore a surprisingly cute Stella McCartney dress. Seriously, this is one of the best Stella dresses I?ve ever seen. Also: she?s pregnant again. For the third time. She?s 40 years old?? I thought she was older, quite honestly.
Mireille Enos at the premiere of The Devil?s Knot. She wore Catherine Malandrino. I?m fine with the silhouette, but the color is wrong. I would have loved this in a teal or a blood red or even in gray. Also: I love that she?s married to Cameron from Ferris Bueller?s Day Off. That never fails to make me smile.
Reese Witherspoon also at The Devil?s Knot premiere. She wore this really gorgeous little Jason Wu dress. She looks great! The dress is super-flattering and it?s nice to see Reese looking sober-ish.
Hilary Swank at the Inspiration Gala. She?s in a terrible black lace Gucci. Widow doily. DONE.

These are some assorted photos from the weekend in NY Fashion Week. I always forget how crazy it gets around this time, with overlapping film festivals (Deauville, TIFF and Venice) plus NYFW, plus regular fall gossip, plus the start of Oscar gossip. Plus we have the Emmys coming up soon too. Anyway, that?s my excuse for sort of half-assing this. I just plucked some photos of the biggest names, celebrities I thought you?d want to see out about in NY.
Jessica Biel made an appearance at The Daily Front Row?s First Fashion Media Awards. She wore Christian Dior, from head to toe (even her clutch is Dior). I guess Jessica is ?over? Giambattista Valli, her usual go-to label. Now that she?s Mrs. Timberlake, it?s all Dior. She also wore a white Dior to another NYFW. I?m okay with both dresses ? they?re not my favorite looks ever, but they?re an improvement from what Biel usually wears, so there you go.
Karlie Kloss at The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards. Karlie wore an Alaa crop-top and high-waisted skirt and it was AWFUL.
Kate Upton at The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards. Kate wore Lanvin and she looked conservative and sort of boring.
Nicki Minaj at The Herve Leger by Max Azria Spring 2014 Runway Show Collection. I?m assuming she?s wearing Leger. This is actually pretty good on her, right?
The Hilton sisters are NYFW! NYFW is over, you guys, the Hiltons are there.
And lastly, we have Stacy Keibler at the Monique Lhuillier Spring Summer Collection. I assume she?s wearing Lhuillier. It?s okay. It?s like an optical illusion, right?
