Getting back to her Midwest roots (she?s from Michigan), Madonna was spotted at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show Press Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana today (February 2).
The ?Music? songstress looked to be in good spirits as she posed for the cameras at the Super Bowl XLVI Media Center, sporting a black vest over a black and white printed top and black trousers.
As for her film career, Madge told press that she loved directing ?W.E.? and is looking to take on another inspirational story for an upcoming movie project.
"There's a lot of stories that I'm interested in. I'm obviously always going to be drawn to stories about strong females 'cause we need, I need them, for inspiration. Well there's a story, but you won't even know about this person, Jane Digby."
"She was in the English aristocrat in the [19]th century and she was excommunicated or outcast from society because she had an affair and she had a child. One of her Bedouin guides became one of her closest friends and confidants. And she ended up falling in love with him and he fell in love with her. But he did have several other wives and he wanted to marry her."

The soon-to-be 38-year-old beauty looks fit and fine as she graces the front page in a blue tank top and jeans while the accompanying interview includes Elizabeth's top fitness trick along with a full slate of interesting tidbits about the actress.

Touring has become the bulk of Madonna?s business (the last tour grossed $408 million, the most ever for a solo artist) since the music industry went belly up and consumers stopped buying records.
She?s not ready to talk about specific plans for this go-round, but it?s safe to assume that her ticket prices will continue to be astronomically expensive, Great Recession be damned. ?So start saving your pennies now,? she says, sounding annoyed that any-one would suggest these prices are prohibitive. ?People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. Yea, because watching a geriatric gyrate her hips on stage and lipsync to old music is worth $300. You can go to a strip club at 2 in the afternoon and you’d get the same thing. It?s no secret that the beauty product industry exaggerates the effectiveness of products, but a recent L?Oreal skin cream ad with Rachel Weisz went too far, according to UK government officials.
According to Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson, the Revitalift Repair 10 product ?misleadingly exaggerated? what it could actually do for consumers.
Swinson sought to make an example of the L?Oreal advertisement in an attempt to hold beauty product companies accountable for the pressure they put on the public to look flawless.
?It's not purely about women, there's big pressures on men as well. It's not purely a feminist issue. Along with these idealized images there is also a very pervasive message that what matters for women is how they look."

Madonna is loving life right now. She?s got a new album coming out, she?s performing at the Super Bowl, she just won a Golden Globe and she came out of the Elton John/David Furnish bitch-fest looking like the gracious, mature one. She?s also got little Brahim as her boyfriend and four healthy and happy kids. So it makes sense that Madge is currently doing a victory lap in the press – she?s got a new (ish) interview in Newsweek, and the same old self-centered Madge is on display. For all of her image changes, isn?t it funny that at the heart of it all, Madonna is now and has always been a narcissistic monster? Thinking about her own marriage and divorce while writing W.E.: ?I?d been married 10 years when I started writing it. And I was certainly asking a kind of existential question that I think people ask when they?ve been married that long: what is the perfect love? Because when you start off, everything?s great and lovely, and the person you?ve married is flawless, and you?re flawless. Then time goes by, and you share a life, you have children, and there are cracks in the veneer. It?s not as romantic as it used to be. You think, ?This isn?t what I thought it was going to be,? and ?How much am I willing to sacrifice??? At the same time, she says, ?when you get to the end of the movie, I think it?s very clear they really loved each other, and that I am a romantic and that I do believe in true love.?
On Wallis Simpson: Madonna makes it very clear that she relates to Simpson, a woman she believes was ?misunderstood on a global scale.?
Madonna on thinking about her kids: ?When I was making my Sex book,? she says, ?I wasn?t thinking about my kids or the reaction they would have. Now I have children, so I have to think about how things like that would impact them.?
Lourdes is embarrassed: In December, while Madonna was getting ready for a screening of her movie, her 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes, walked into the room and vetoed her mom?s proposed outfit: a corset with fishnets and no pants. Madonna understands poverty: A few years ago she got filleted for saying the Big Apple had been more fun back in the day, before it was all taken over by hedge-fund types. ?It kinda was,? she says, unapologetic as ever. Consequently, she was ?excited? by the Occupy Wall Street movement, for a number of reasons, not the least of which was that Sean Lennon and Rufus Wainwright did a rendition of ?Material Girl? at one of the early rallies. ?I thought that was cool,? she says, bringing the discussion back to her favorite subject: herself.
On Lady Gaga?s ?Born This Way?: No wonder Madonna seems so un-ruffled when asked about Lady Gaga and ?Born This Way,? the No. 1 song that came out last year and that many critics thought resembled Madonna?s 1989 smash ?Express Yourself.? ?Of course I heard it,? she says toward the end of our interview. ?How could I not? I think it was on the radio a few times. I thought, ?This is a wonderful way to redo my song.? I recognized the chord changes, I thought it was … interesting.? And at this, she gives a little smile.

On criticism: ?If you are threatened by me as a female or you think I?m doing too much or saying too much or being too much of a provocateur, then no matter how great of a song I write or how amazing of a film I make, you?re not going to allow yourself to enjoy it, because you?re going to be too entrenched in being angry with me or putting me in my place or punishing me.?

In an attempt to fight the signs of ageing and prevent herself from totally shriveling up like a raisin, Madonna sucked the life force from Nicki Minaj during a music video shoot. I’m sorry, I read that wrong. Madonna got drunk and kissed Nicki Minaj.
She explained to Anderson Cooper, “It was her birthday and it was actually the end of one of those long days of shooting and we were all giving a birthday toast to her. After a few sips of champagne I kissed her, yes.”
Anderson joked, “I’ve got a bunch of people in the audience that are whispering to me that it’s their birthday as well.” Madonna responded by tenting her fingers, whispering, “Egggcellent,” and cackling maniacally.

According to TMZ, LiLo is already exploring her legal options with her attorneys as such claims could have a detrimental effect on her career.

Olivia is not talking about her newish relationship with Jason Sudeikis, but she is still talking about her divorce – she keeps bringing it up because she can no longer drop ?I?m a princess!? into her interviews. On Jason Sudeikis: She says she has a boyfriend in the ?entertainment world,? but won?t confirm that it?s ?SNL? star Jason Sudeikis. ?[He?s] in a much more interesting part of the business than I am. If I have a drink with a guy, it becomes an affair.?
Post-divorce: “I put on a few extra pounds? But I’m trying to be healthier now.” Previously, she said, “I got a divorce and self-medicated with food. But I figure that’s better than self-medicating with crack cocaine.”
Feeling like a failure: “When you go through a breakup, you lose faith for a while. It makes you feel like such a failure, but I think this whole traumatic year has made me a better actor. And the good thing about getting divorced young ? if there is a good thing ? is that it makes you realize there’s no schedule in life. It blasts you wide open and frees you to be honest with yourself.”
On her impulsive elopement at the age of 18: “The danger is that you evolve over the years and find yourself in a different place.?
On her ex: “Tao was, and is, totally involved with his work, and for me there’s nothing sexier than a man who is busy and obsessed with what he’s doing. I guess I saw that in my parents’ marriage. They had real respect for their work and for each other.”
An early connection to SNL: “My dad took me to see Saturday Night Live as a birthday treat, and I knew at that moment that this was what I wanted to do,” she says.
A George Clooney story: Later, as a teen, Wilde remembers having lunch with George Clooney on the set of The Peacemaker, the 1997 movie for which her parents, Leslie and Andrew Cockburn, wrote the screenplay. “Having George Clooney be the first Hollywood actor I met set a pretty high standard,” she said. “He’s genuinely sincere, smart, gracious, and I like his politics, too, which always helps.”
On Hugh Laurie: “I spent four years on House and learned so much from Hugh. I owe my entire film career to him. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now without Hugh and the series. It was the first time I’d been allowed to play somebody not defined by my looks.”

I did notice that Olivia had gained some weight, and I really liked the way she looked too – she got a little bit more in the bust, and her hips and butt ?filled out? a bit, and in my opinion, she looked even prettier. I understand that the weight gain came from post-divorce depression, but she should still consider keeping on a few extra pounds. As for the Clooney story – I wouldn?t mind Clooney and Ol? Cockburn as a couple. Right? He likes women with a bigger bust, true, but he could always buy Olivia some new boobs. Other than that, I think they would make an interesting match.

During her recent interview on the ?Today? show, Ms. Williams confessed that hearing that she was nominated for an Oscar took her by complete surprise.
Michelle shared that she was getting her daughter Matilda ready for the day when her pal came in and declared, ?Michelle, they just called your name on TV.?
She added, ?It was a very sweet way to hear that news ? [the nomination announcement] slipped my mind, which is something that?s so great about having a kid. You get really absorbed.?

That?s the one where we?re supposed to buy that Chris Pine and Tom Hardy are super-spies vying for Reese?s affection. The styling on this photo shoot is much more standard Reese, as opposed to how Elle Mag was trying to make her seem last month – like a Jennifer Aniston-style beachy ditz. Glamour UK made Reese look how she usually looks – pulled-together, dainty, lady-like, pretty. I prefer Reese like this, because I think this is close to how she really is. Anyway, here are some highlights from Reese?s interview:
Reese on plastic surgery: ?I’m not for it. I’m not against it. I have plenty of friends who do stuff and if it makes you feel good, great … but I don’t think it’s the fix for some sort of unease that you’re having about who you are as a human being. I don’t think I need plastic surgery at this point: Can we just go day-by-day on that one??
On body image (she has an underwear scene in the film): “‘I don’t worry about it. I have the body I earned: I had two kids and I’m still strong and healthy. And you start to have a different respect for your body the older you get. Instead of tearing yourself apart all the time, you start to go ‘Oh wow.’”
On being frugal: Although she recently splashed out on a black Valentino bag, she revealed she can’t bring herself to buy an expensive bag from The Row – Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion label. She laments: ?I have this fixation about this black leather The Row purse, but it’s so prohibitively expensive, I will not allow myself to buy it. I literally go to the store to visit it. Too much money – it feels decadent. I can’t wrap my brain around it. If I bought it, I’d only feel upset about it and take it back.? However, she justified her purchase of the Valentino bag, because ?it’s super-plain and beautiful and just feels like something you’ll have forever.?

I?m sure Reese?s comments about plastic surgery will get lots of play, but I find them pretty boiler plate. I buy that she?s not getting tweaked, and I buy that she doesn?t judge (too much) when her friends get tweaked. Meh. What I find really interesting is the stuff about her frugality – do you think that?s for real? I?ll buy that Reese is the kind of woman (like me) who can talk herself out of buying something expensive even though she really wants it. But it feels like Reese is trying too hard to relate to ?normal? women, right? That?s the aim of the story – ?I live on a budget too, y?all!?

God, I?ve missed Christina Hendricks. I was actually thinking about that as I watched the SAG awards – the cast of Mad Men has been MIA during this awards season because Mad Men didn?t air at all last year, so the show wasn?t up for any awards. Christina?s busty visage was sorely missed on the red carpet. Yes, I know, I?m usually bitching about how she?s styled, but the important thing is that I always enjoy talking about her red carpet styles, and it?s always fun to see what she?s doing with that crazy rack of hers.
But there?s good news – Christina appears on the March issue of Cosmopolitan UK, likely to promote the new season of Mad Men, which doesn?t come out for another few months. Christina on meeting her husband, Geoffrey Arend: He was a bit ‘freaked out’ by her when they first started dating. Clearly convinced she had met ‘the one’, Christina told Arend she wanted a family with him soon after meeting. ‘Geoffrey walked in and I was like, ?Who is this guy?? He had amazing hair and was all dishevelled – he was running late and everyone was waiting for him. He just came in with this very high energy. He was just charming, funny and very magnetic. I got his number that night under the pretence of, “We could just be friends.” And of course I immediately went home and Googled him.’
She said ?love? first: After a few weeks of the pair meeting as part of a group, they finally had a date, and then it was Hendricks who said the L word first. She said: ‘I cracked it out in such a big way. I was like, “You make me want to have a family.” I freaked him out a bit…Thank God I didn?t spook him enough to make him leave.’
She didn?t expect to be a pin-up: ‘It?s incredibly flattering and surprising, and I didn?t think for a second when I started Mad Men that people would talk about me as being sexy or a pin up. My husband has a good laugh about it, of course.’
She defines ?sexiness?: ‘Sexiness is about confidence and individuality. I can?t keep my eyes off the women you see in cities like London, New York and Paris – the way they carry themselves and put themselves together are always so unique. Sexiness is about being an individual and having conviction about what that is.’

Here are some new photos of Jennifer Garner and her bump in LA yesterday. We?ve been saying that Jennifer is ?ready to pop? for weeks now, but seriously, look at her. I don?t think she?s got that much longer, do you? Us Weekly?s sources say she?s due in late February or early March – so she?s got a month longer? That can?t be right! Jennifer and Jessica Simpson are like the anti-Beyonces. They carry to large so fast, people just don?t believe their due dates.
I do have to say, though, Jennifer is carrying differently with this pregnancy – her legs and her face don?t seem to have gained much weight, which I?m sure is part of some old wives? tale about the gender of the baby. Early reports indicated that this one was definitely a boy, and considering Ben Affleck?s willingness to be publicly affectionate with Jennifer, I think many of us assumed that Ben?s physicality with his wife meant that he was finally ?getting his son.? But! When Jennifer was on the Tonight Show recently, she made it sound like the gender wasn?t a sure thing:
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s third child may end up with the most unusual name in Hollywood if they leave it up to daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3.
“Our girls are working on names. At first they were definitely Disney. It was like, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck,” Garner, 39, said on The Tonight Show Wednesday. “And then they’ve moved on. Then it was Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Smee.”
“They’re coming up with lists and coming in and saying, ‘Let’s have a baby-naming contest! Let’s have a baby-naming poll!’” the Butter star added. “They ask everyone, because they just want to know. But we’re not telling.”
Garner said she knows the sex of her baby, though she chose not to reveal it on The Tonight Show. The actress previously said she’s hoping for a little girl, but she isn’t sure if Affleck, 39, feels the same way.
“I would have thought [he wanted a boy]. At first I think I really thought so,” Garner told host Jay Leno. “And then he kind of said, ‘Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls. My girls love me. I’m the big guy in the house.’ So, now I’m not sure.”
Garner, who announced her third pregnancy in August, is due in late February/early March.

So Ben will be fine with another girl? He very well might be. I can sometimes have a low opinion of Affleck, but I don?t think he?s really d-bagging out on the sex of the baby. He?ll be happy with a healthy baby, a boy or a girl. Whatever it is, I?m sure it will be dimply and on parade soon enough!

I’m kind of fascinated with Nicolas Cage. He continues to star in ridiculous action movies, and his looks are surely fading/faded, but there’s something compelling about him. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s wacky and seems like he would be fun to hang out with, until a few hours into it when you realize how crazy and borderline unhinged he really is. So here we have Nic posing in Paris at the Musee Grevin next to what has to be one of the ugliest wax statues I’ve ever seen. It’s not that it’s a technically inept wax statue, like these likenesses of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez that don’t look like real people. The issue is that the statue looks like a very ugly, old version of Cage. Granted Cage’s looks have faded, but he’s not this bad looking. The guy had to see this statue and think “Do people really think I look like this?” but he sucked it up, smiled and posed happily next to a very ugly version of himself. It’s like they took the worst features of Cage and magnified them: big ears, receding hairline, jowls. Poor Cage.

While the cover shot (seriously, a hairdryer?) looks like it belongs on the cover of Teen magazine instead, the rest of the shoot (included below) is much better. As far as the accompanying interview is concerned, Amanda discusses her on-off again boyfriend Dominic Cooper, babies, and getting naked with her dog.
On dating non-celebs: You learn very quickly what people are so enamored with, and it?s not necessarily me. I think it?s all the bullsh-t of the idea of someone who?s famous, which seems more exotic than the fact. You have to be careful whom you date, but I had a great time this summer.”
On her ex, Dominic Cooper: “He was my last real boyfriend. We still joke about having kids, like, ‘If it doesn’t work out with other people, we might as well just have a child,’” Seyfried says. “And there’s a part of that that feels. . . possible.”
Is she going through a 20s slut phase? “No! I’m terrified of being promiscuous. I don’t like the feeling you get when it’s not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward. It’s just uncomfortable when you’re with somebody and you?re like, ‘I don’t really know if I’m even comfortable with this. Why did I? Eww!’ I think dating can come without sex. I think that?s a really fun way to do it. Right now I’m happy to not have someone’s naked body around me. Except for my dog’s.”
She’ll never date Justin Timberlake: “I think any female that meets him at first is like, ‘I want to date you.’ He seems so perfect, but you get to know him, and he’s a good pal. He’ll tell you what he really feels. But, you know, he?s really famous, which has its downsides.”
On having kids: “I think about kids all the time. I feel like the next person I commit to, that’s going to be the guy who I’m going to have kids with. That’s in my crazy female brain. So that’s why I’m like, ‘I can’t commit.’”

When Amanda insists that she’s not promiscuous and can do dating without sex, is she trying to tell us that she never slept with sort of ex-boyfriend Ryan Phillipe? I really hope that’s the case — not because I don’t want Amanda to get any action but because it’s so damn amusing to think of Ryan wining and dining a gorgeous chick (and taking her to Paris) and still not getting anywhere in the sack. Let’s face it, Ryan is a douche, and Amanda is better off without him.
As opposed to her personal life, Amanda seemingly has no problem playing loose women on camera. She’s currently playing Linda Lovelace, got super naked in Chloe, and made out with Megan Fox in Jennifer’s Body. So I guess she reserves her wild side for her acting career, which is fine. Everybody has been talking about this HBO movie, Game Change, for months now. We saw a teaser trailer back in December, and now the full-length trailer is out. Game Change is the movie about the 2008 election, only it?s not about how Pres. Obama became Pres. Obama or anything (or is it?), it?s just about the concentrated time frame of mid-August 2008 to November 2008, basically the last two-and-a-half months in the political landscape where EVERYTHING went crazy. And by crazy, I mean Sarah ?Barracuda? Palin. Julianne Moore was cast as former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, and while I had my doubts about the casting, this trailer has eased my mind a little bit. Not only does Julianne seem to be doing a good-to-stellar job as Palin, Ed Harris really does look like John McCain here. Here?s the trailer:
You know what I like? I like that Julianne (and the film in general) deftly and smartly avoids making Palin into a caricature. Palin, by her own hand and by her opponents?, can easily be made into a cartoon, a piece of fluff, a comedy bit, a party trick. The film seems to rely heavily on anecdotes that John Heilemann and Mark Halperin (authors of Game Change) compiled from disgruntled McCain staffers post-election. Is the portrait of Palin sympathetic? Probably not. But they haven?t made her into a punch line either.

These are some more photos from Jennifer Aniston?s appearance at the Directors Guild Awards over the weekend – we discussed the photos and their significance on Sunday. While it was clear to me that the tabloids were full of it when they claimed Aniston was well into her second trimester, some of you second-guessed me. Some of you think that these photos – which do show Aniston with a slight weight gain – are proof positive that Aniston is either A) preggo or B) on fertility drugs to get preggo. You may be right – I think the fertility drug theory has legs. In any case, Us Weekly reports this week that Aniston is definitely On The Path To Babies. But first she and Justin Theroux have to settle into their new mansion.
Ever since she settled down with Justin Theroux, 40, Jennifer Aniston has had a one-track mind: ?She is doing everything she can to have a baby,? a source says of the actress, who just turned 43. ?That?s really what she and Justin want more than anything.?
The pair of eight months also want to be prepared – they recently snapped up an 8,500-square-foot mansion in LA?s Ble Air – and they?re eager to put their stamp on it.
?They?re going to do some work to it before moving in,? says the source. ?It?s exciting because it will be a project they can do together.?

I go back and forth on Aniston and the state of her womb, obviously. I think Theroux is probably the ?best? boyfriend she?s had in years, and he damn well makes a better candidate for ?baby-daddy? than someone like John Mayer. But, do I really think Aniston even gives a crap about having babies? In the past, my answer was always ?Hell no.? She likes her life – drinking, free time, dogs, vacations, working out. A baby might put a crimp in that. But I also think Theroux has changed Jennifer – and maybe babies are part of the plan now?

Blake Lively covers the March issue of Elle Magazine. I feel like she hasn?t done many magazines in the past year?? Maybe something last summer, but it?s nice that she doesn?t over-saturate the market with mag cover after mag cover, interview after interview. Blake knows the value of a little mystery. Blake knows the value of parceling out gossip nuggets to the bigger media outlets. Of course, Elle is not Vogue. But Elle still has millions of readers, and it?s one of the major fashion/beauty mags out there. This was a smart cover for Blake to do.
As for the photo shoot – it?s nothing special, although Blake?s crazy body is on full display. I?m sure the photo where she?s wearing the red swimsuit will get a lot of attention, but look at the shot of Blake in those skin-tight black pants. THAT ASS. My goodness. And my friend at the time,” she says, without naming DiCaprio, “joined the school field trip, and we were walking down the street.”
