Here are some photos of a very pregnant Reese Witherspoon with daughter Ava Phillipe outside a nail salon, and it’s very clear that Reese is at that stage of pregnancy when only airy, breezy dresses make sense. I just feel for her being at this late stage in the summertime because pregnancy already makes you feel hot enough without actual raised temperatures to add to the physical pressure.
Meanwhile, Reese continues to plot her post-baby career comeback, and we’ve already heard that her husband, Jim Toth, will be managing her career in the future. So far, the signs have not been encouraging with Reese signing on to film a Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus adaptation, but there might be a little bit of light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. 20th Century Fox just purchased the film rights to Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl, and Reese has signed on as a producer. At this stage in Reese’s (romcom heavy) career, one wonders if she is also planning to star in the movie, which would be an abrupt departure from what she’s done in the past several years:
It seems like just about everyone’s talking about Gillian Flynn’s latest novel, Gone Girl, and naturally the property?s film rights became a major get. Per Deadline, 20th Century Fox is the winning studio, as they apparently acquired the rights for an amount in the range of seven figures. Pacific Standard’s Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea will produce alongside Leslie Dixon. The book centers a man whose wife disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary, only to have all roads point to him as the woman?s killer. No word on whether Witherspoon would also star in Gone Girl, but she’s got a pretty full plate of upcoming projects at the moment.
Flynn will be handling the screenplay herself, and the author has two other feature film adaptations in development. Amy Adams is attached to star in Dark Places, with Gilles Paquet-Brenner directing, and Paranormal Activity guru Jason Blum is producing Sharp Objects.

I’m reading Gone Girl right now — it came out about a month ago, but I had to set it aside immediately after purchase after Goop recommended it in one of her peasanty newsletters. Nothing kills anticipation like Goop, you know? But I got over myself and just started the book, and if it turns out anything like Gillian Flynn’s other novels, and I honestly can’t see Reese pulling off a gritty thriller like this. Earlier on in her career, she pulled off some diverse roles including the similarly-toned Fear, but now? I think Reese has lost perspective after doing so many big-budget studio movies and, yes, all of those romcoms. Maybe Reese plans on sticking with strictly producing, or maybe she’ll just pop in for a bit role like she did when she produced Penelope. Regardless of Reese’s plans, I remain a huge Flynn fan and am thrilled to learn that Amy Adams will be playing Libby Day in Dark Places.

Kicking off her week in the City of Light, Victoria Beckham arrived at the Gare Du Nord train station in Paris, France this morning (July 23).
Joined by her adorable son Romeo, the singer/fashion designer looked gorgeous as she made her way to the Chanel store for some retail therapy.
And though she set to join her Spice Girls cohorts for a rumored performance at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremonies, Victoria is getting slammed by fellow bandmate Geri Halliwell.
Ginger Spice reportedly told a gal pal, "After the Olympics I can't even imagine even talking to her again, let alone being on a stage with her. Mel B was right; she has lost the spirit of the band."
Meanwhile, a rep for Beckham told press, "The Spice Girls have received some amazing invitations to perform over the last few years, however, personal family and professional reasons mean this has not been possible, the Olympics is one more amazing opportunity but no announcement has been made or confirmation given, so this is nothing more than speculation at this time.?

These are photos of Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart ?out to dinner? yesterday in NYC. This is how Jennifer dresses casually ? and it?s not horrible, in my opinion. I like when she does head-scarves, and I like the white jeans and flip-flops (I?m a sucker for celebrities in flip-flops). The piece that I don?t like is the t-shirt? with some kind of metal embellishments on the shoulders. It would have been cuter is she had just done a simple white t-shirt, I think. People are making a big deal about how we can see Jennifer?s bra through the t-shirt, but it happens. I don?t know if the t-shirt is really thin or if it?s just the lighting or whatever. All I know is that the ?bra? part of this doesn?t offend me. What does offend me? Yeah. Casper. As for Casper and his FACE (ugh) and his Timbs? does this boy even know how to tie his own shoes? How does he even walk without falling down?
Apparently, this outing was Jennifer and Casper enjoying their ?night off? from her tour ? in which Casper has been made the ?lead choreographer?. Jennifer and Casper spent the day shopping, then eating at Pastis, then they spent the night on a private yacht.
By the way, Jennifer?s birthday is tomorrow. Will Casper propose on her birthday? I kind of think she?s expecting it, don?t you? She probably already picked out the ring, paid for it and gave it to Casper to give back to her. I wonder how she asked to be proposed to? Privately (say, on a yacht?), or in front of a huge audience, like on stage in the middle of her show? Yes, I?m kind of expecting some news from J.Lo this week. You should prepare yourselves ? he?s going to propose at some point and she?ll say yes. Because she believes in fairy tales. For real.

These are some photos from last night?s Teen Choice Awards, which I didn?t watch, of course. You know what I watched last night? A really awful Masterpiece Mystery: Inspector Lewis. Inspector Lewis is one of my least favorite of all of the Masterpiece Mysteries, which should tell you a lot about how much I did not want to watch the Teen Choice Awards. But I do enjoy the fashion from these events, especially because it seems that so many of these young stars struggle with what to wear ? they can?t look like they?re trying too hard, they can?t over-dress, but they can?t just wear jeans either. It?s always interesting.
So let?s start off with Taylor Swift in Maria Lucia Hohan, one of her go-to designers for these events. I don?t really hate the dress, it?s flattering and the nude panels on the side and back are well-executed. You know what this dress reminds me of? Baby?s dress during the final dance in Dirty Dancing. I?ve had the time of my life?and I owe it all to you?.! Swifty was totally making that reference too, I think. Also: I really do think that Swifty got bolt-ons. I really, really do.
Next up: Lea Michele in Versace. I think I might have to praise Lea, quite honestly. The dress is? it?s fine, it?s a standard little cocktail dress, I don?t love it or hate it. But I have to give Lea some credit for several things. One, she seems so much more relaxed on this carpet. Sure, she was pose-harding and making sure everybody got her dress from every angle. But looking through the photos, she just seems so much more relaxed, so much looser. I also have to give her some credit for gaining some weight back ? when she went vegan a few years ago, she lost so much weight very quickly. Some of it has started to come back, and Lea looks so much healthier and happier. Overall, she just looks great.

The Teen Choice Awards were last night, with the cast of Vampire Diaries taking home a big percentage of the awards/surfboards. We’ll be focusing on the fashion, and you can go here for a full list of winners. “Vampire Diaries” won choice Fantasy/Sci-Fi TV show, with Ian Somerhadler and Nina Dobrev winning best actor and actress in the Fantasy/Sci Fi category.
First off we have Nina Dobrev in striking light blue strapless J. Mendel. This dress is amazing on her, although it looks like her boobs are getting squished since the bodice is so tight. That’s a minor complaint on an incredible dress. I don’t like her eye makeup and think the black eyeliner makes her look squinty. I blame the Middleton sisters for that trend. Her hair and forehead braids are cute though, and she looks gorgeous as usual. I love seeing Nina on the red carpet.
Nina’s costar Kat Graham is known for her outrageous fashion (check her category on Go Fug Yourself for sh*ts and giggles), with some of her past looks making this fug Mara Hoffman minidress seem demure in comparison. By any other standard other than Kat’s low personal one this dress is not that cute. The pattern looks like Mayan meets acid trip.
Kat changed into this deep v-neck tiny short and tuxedo jacket Wish outfit at some point during the ceremony. At least she didn’t wear this on the red carpet. Look at all that fake hair.
Candice Accola was in a canary 3.1 Phillip Lim dress with brown platform sandals. She’s lovely, although this plain dress isn’t doing her any favors. The color is striking and I do think it suits her, but the design is lacking. I find her shoes a little too casual for this look. Candice won Choice TV Female Scene Stealer.
Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder both went with the black pants and dressy t-shirt combo with black shoes. I think Ian is really sexy but Paul doesn’t do it for me. He looks so skinny it’s a little unhealthy looking. Ian wears it better, like he’s just naturally lanky. Not that I would turn either down.

More photos from last night?s Teen Choice Awards! Here?s Zoe Saldana in a two-piece ensemble by Jonathan Saunders, a designer I am not familiar with. At first glance, I actually liked this on Zoe, although on second and third glances, I?m not wild about it. The design is? okay. It?s the kind of thing that only a girl with Zoe?s build can really pull off. Put this skirt and a cropped shell on a girl with short legs or any kind of curves, and it would look completely awful. So? kudos to Zoe for choosing something that is appropriate (and unique) for her figure. That being said, I guess my problem might be with the fabric. Notably, the print. The print isn?t all that great. It looks like a 1970s print? for pillows.
Next up: Gwen Stefani, who walked the red carpet with No Doubt, and No Doubt performed at the awards show too. For the carpet, Gwen also wore a two-piece ensemble, and I ended up liking hers a lot more than Zoe?s. Gwen went with Yves Saint Laurent ? look at that vest! That?s really awesome. And I like her general styling here too ? usually I want to wipe off some of her makeup and edit her outfit, but this version of Gwen is pretty great. Gwen?s shoes are Louboutin, by the way. Is Tony wearing Doc Martens?

I wanted to cover Hayden Panettiere’s fashion at the Teen Choice Awards just for the chance to talk about her awesome shoes. She’s wearing B By Brian Atwood ‘Fontane’ pumps, which are available on Nordstrom.com for $350. These shoes wouldn’t work with a patterned dress, but with a solid color they make a striking accessory. I would wear these! I know they may look clownish to some of you, but I think they rock.

Y?all know I love The New Girl. I like that there?s a weird sitcom with a female lead ? surrounded by funky boys ? on network television. It shouldn?t be groundbreaking in today?s world, but it kind of is, probably because it?s a unexpected throwback to another era of television. And yes, I?m sort of comparing The New Girl to Mary Tyler Moore. Go ahead and yell. Anyway, the two actresses of The New Girl were at last night?s Teen Choice Awards, which makes sense because the awards were on Fox and The New Girl is one of Fox?s newest, biggest hits of the year. And I guess teenagers watch The New Girl? Sure.
So here?s Zooey Deschanel in a Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress, in a silhouette that we?ve seen on her a million times before. I?ve gotten to the point where I accept Zooey?s bangs as part of her shtick, and I will accept (and enjoy) her girly-ness and general hipster/manic-panic-dream-girl-ness on the show. But the trade-off is that I want Zooey to experiment with a more ?adult? look. And I want her to stop posing like a 4-year-old who just wandered on to the red carpet.
As for Hannah Simone (who is getting a ton of press from the show because she?s so pretty and funny) ? she wore this weird Mary Katrounzou dress that is to multicolored and frenetic, it?s blending into the multicolored ?Teen Choice? backing. This girl has a great figure and a beautiful face ? perhaps it?s time to invest in a better stylist? Oh, and there?s only room for Zooey?s bangs on the show. Why is The New Girl so bangsy?!?! Fun sidenote: Hannah is half-Indian like me, and this is exactly what my hair looked like when I was 10. Giant, thick bangs and really long, straight hair. It was fine when I was 10? but I dislike when I see my 10-year-old hair on an adult woman.

Here are some photos of Cate Blanchett at the opening night party (on Saturday) for the production of Uncle Vanya. Cate starred in the play in Sydney, and she and her husband Andrew Upton have brought the production to the New York City Center as part of the 2012 Lincoln Center Festival. Upton adapted the Anton Chekhov play for the Sydney production. As for Cate in this geometric dress? I?m not so sure about it. I mean, obviously, ON CATE it?s fantastic. She could make a burlap sack look like a one-of-a-kind couture piece. But I don?t think this dress would look good on anyone else. As for her face? I will literally burst into tears if Cate ever Botoxed or tweaked. Her face is magnificent. Here?s a bit more about the production and some quotes from Cate:
With five Academy Award nominations and one Oscar win to her name, it’s no doubt that Cate Blanchett reigns as one of the world’s most gifted actresses. While she’s widely known for her work on film, the statuesque performer never strays far from the stage.
Blanchett and her husband, writer and director Andrew Upton, are currently in town with the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of “Uncle Vanya.” The pair, who has been serving as the company’s artistic heads since 2008, brings the Anton Chekhov classic to the city after a premiere down under in 2010. Blanchett stars as Yelena in her husband’s new adaptation of “Uncle Vanya,” which is currently part of the 2012 Lincoln Center Festival.
?For me the importance was not so much to play Yelena but to be part of the ensemble. That was my drive,? Blanchett says.
Blanchett and Upton’s journey with “Uncle Vanya” began to germinate after they experienced another Chekhov play at the Lincoln Center Festival in 2009: a production of “Ivanov,” directed by Hungarian artist Tams Ascher, who is now at the helm of “Uncle Vanya.?
?We approached him thinking he?ll never say yes because he doesn’t know us, he doesn’t know the company. And he said yes,? Blanchett says.
?He was very, very insistent that I pay very close attention to the actual structure of the Russian senses,? Upton says.
In recent years, Blanchett has been seen at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on the New York stage playing Hedda Gabler and faded beauty Blanche DuBois in “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
?They?re not museum pieces and for me, that?s the challenge when you?re doing a classic. It?s through performing it you understand why these things live now,? Blanchett says.
And while the pair will officially step down from their post as Sydney Theatre Company heads in 2013, Blanchett says she hopes to eventually make her Broadway debut.
?I?d love to,? she says. ?Yeah, I?d absolutely love to.?

I can?t believe Cate has never actually been in a Broadway production. She?s performed in plays in London, Sydney, and Washington, DC? someone offer her a Broadway play!
I should also mention this ? after barely taking any film roles over the past few years, Cate has a slew of films coming out next year. She?s spent the last six months or so working back-to-back of various projects, including The Hobbit, a Woody Allen movie, that Knight of Cups film with Christian Bale, and something with Terrence Malick.

Here are some newish photos of Kim Kardashian, heretofore known as ?Ol? Starfish-Boob Kardashian?. Ol? Starfish-Boob (OSB) was in Miami over the weekend, being paid to party at an event at the Delano Beach Club, sponsored by Midori. I kind of think Starfish Boob looks okay here ? she must have taken out her long-ass extensions and this might be all of her natural hair. Her hair might be the only natural thing about her (unless you?re counting hair dye) in these photos, because girl still has a crazy jacked face. I literally have no idea why she does that to her lips ? her old lips were fine.
Anyway, Starfish-Boob walked the carpet solo, but E! News points out that Kanye West was at the event ? he was just inside, waiting for her, and they had a special date night in Miami. I know they?re both famewhores and everything, but is anyone else kind of surprised by how drama-free their relationship has been thus far? And by that I mean that Kanye hasn?t had any Twitter meltdowns over Kim, and there have been no public blowouts or anything. It?s almost like their competing drama-queen personas cancel each other out and they both end up pretty calm. Kim continues to give interviews about how much she loves Kanye and? nothing. Kim Kardashian has revealed that rapper Kanye West makes her feel “special”. The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star – who split from husband Kris Humphries in October after just 72 days of marriage – has been dating the rapper since April and says they are very happy together.
She said: “It’s been tough since the break up of my marriage but I always believed I would find love again and I’m so happy I have. I’m always smiling in Kanye’s company and he makes me feel so special.”
Kim and Kanye were friends for eight years before beginning a relationship, and the brunette beauty thinks that is why they work so well as a couple.
She said: “Me and Kanye spent time as friends first and I see a real benefit in that. Once a relationship goes past the honeymoon phase, you need the strong base of friendship to keep it working.”
Despite her reality TV shows depicting rows between herself, sisters Khloe and Kourtney and their mother Kris Jenner, Kim insists that the Kardashian family have never had a real problem with one another.

Taking the stage at the Gibson Amphitheatre, No Doubt offered up a show-stopping performance at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night (July 22).
Gwen Stefani showed that she and bandmates Tom Dumont, Adrian Young and Tony Kanal can still bring attendees to their feet while delivering a rendition of their brand new single "Settle Down."
The annual event was hosted by Demi Lovato, while some of the stars taking the stage to collect surfboards included Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Josh Hutcherson.
Along with No Doubt, the 2012 Teen Choice Awards also featured performances by Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and Flo Rida.
