I hated the Michael Kors cut-out dress Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Golden Heart Gala in New York last night, and not just because Gwyneth Paltrow was the one wearing it. It’s the cut-outs. They make her looks like a jack-o-lantern. And with her hair pulled back so tight, you really notices how pointy her ears are. She looks just like the Mirkwood wood-elf who moonlights as a dominatrix in in my latest erotic Tolkien fan fiction novel, “Between the Misty Mountains: The Whores of Lothlrien.” It’s a lot like 50 Shades of Grey, but with elves.

If you?ve read Tina Fey?s Bossypants (which I sincerely hope you have), you know that there are few people Tina Fey admires and loves more than Amy Poehler. Tina is very open about her girl-crush on all things Poehler. I?ve never really heard Amy go on and on about how she feels about Tina, but I assume that the feeling is mutual. These two ladies love each other. And when they are together, magic happens! So I can?t believe it?s taken this long for some event organizer or producer to say, ?Huh, we should get Tina and Amy to co-host this event.? Which is what just happened ? Tina and Amy will co-host the 2013 Golden Globes! HUZZAH.
Seth who? A couple of weeks after the Oscars landed MacFarlane, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has managed to top the Academy’s unconventional pick, booking two majorly funny stars for their show’s 2013 ceremony: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
HFPA’s president, Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly (along with dick clark productions and NBC) announced Monday that the actresses (and former Saturday Night Live costars) will co-host coverage of this year’s Golden Globes, airing Sunday, January 13.
“The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action,” Takla-O’Reilly shared. “The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”
“Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” Paul Telegdy, President of NBC Entertainment’s Alternative and Late Night Programming, added.
“Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama.”

I think this is smart, especially after two years of Ricky Gervais?s hit-or-miss act. In 2011, Gervais was kind of over-the-top and vicious (even Robert Downey Jr. thought so), and then when Ricky returned earlier this year, he made a big deal about how he was still going to be ballsy and offensive, and it turned out to be one of his meeker performances. I trust that Amy and Tina will be able to find a nice balance between snarking on the celebrities in the audience and celebrating Hollywood. Now I kind of hope George Clooney will turn up? just because? OMG the jokes.

Ending her weekend with a swanky fete, Dita Von Teese attended the Cointreau Ambassador of Libations Cannes 2013 Finals in New York City last night (October 14).
The burlesque babe was joined by Kyle Ford, Alfred Cointreau, and Kenny Davis at the Cointreau and Gotham Magazine-sponsored event.
In a recent interview, Dita shared that she and ex-husband Marilyn Manson were initially a great fit because of their similar relationship their artistic pursuits.
"We were cut from the same cloth. We both changed out entire identity, coloured out hair black, did our own man-up and came up with our own outfits - that's why it worked so well. We could relate to each other in a very profound way."

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were in Paris yesterday for the French premiere of Argo. (Only one of our agencies had those premiere photos and they were exclusive so we can’t use them, but the two of them were there. They did pose together inside the venue, but not outside.) In case you’re wondering how these two roll, The Daily Mail has photos of them getting into a private jet on Sunday. They left the kids at home to take this quick romantic jaunt together.
Yesterday these two were seen out shopping at exclusive boutiques like Chanel. They’re very much a show of togetherness despite their unwillingness to pose together on a red carpet. Look at how much Garner steps up her style when she’s in Europe supporting her husband. She’s wearing Louboutin pumps, smart tailored trousers, and a stylish fuzzy striped cardigan with a jaunty scarf. I would love to have that sweater! This was a well planned look, and she’s game for this outing with her husband. They even posed with fans.
Later, Ben took his wife out to a restaurant called La Fontaine de Mars. She’s wearing platform pumps, a very sexy black miniskirt paired with a blazer and another gray scarf. This woman is stunning when she puts forth a little effort. In this close up shot below, I get the impression that she’s had a little Botox too, but it’s perfect. Give me what she’s having.
Of course this is all about Argo and Ben’s Oscar campaign. It was second at the box office this opening weekend to Taken 2, which was in its second week. It’s not just about the numbers, which were solid. Ben is likely to get nominated in both the Best Picture and Director categories, and he’s campaigning hard. Part of that involves perhaps inadvertently revealing his lackluster feelings toward his wife, but he’s reigning it in and doing couple-y photo ops with Garner. I’m actually rooting for him and for the two of them as a couple. I like this family and I think Ben is a talented guy. He makes great movies, and he’s busted his ass for this comeback. I want to see him take home another Oscar. Do you remember his Oscar acceptance speech with Matt Damon in 1998? I just watched it again, and it made me so happy. He’ll be much more polished this time. Where is Matt’s follow-up Oscar?

These are some new photos of the 2012 Golden Heart Awards (for God’s Love We Deliver) in NYC last night. Gwyneth Paltrow was definitely the biggest ?get? of the event, although there was a surprising amount of models and supermodels at the event too. But let?s discuss Goop, shall we? She?s wearing Michael Kors. It is a DISASTER. This is what pisses me off (consistently) about Gwyneth: she works really, really hard on her body and her ?look? and then simply doesn?t know what styles look best on her body. I really think that in Gwyneth?s mind, she works super-hard on her body and thus, she can wear any style she wants because she looks so good. But seriously, while her body looks good, she?s still rather square-shaped, and square-shaped people should not wear dresses with cut-outs in the mid-section. Goop does this look way too often. Plus, the effect of cleavage cut-out makes her look saggy.
Something nice: her face looks pretty good. Not as sun-damaged as it?s looked over the past few years. Maybe she?s found a really good night cream.

These are photos from the ELLE magazine 19th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills last night. There are going to be several posts devoted to this event, because lots of lots of A-listers and B-listers showed up, and there was some? ?interesting? fashion on display. Let?s start with Cate Blanchett, shall we? Cate is beautiful. Cate is lovely. Cate is amazing. Cate is a role model. Cate can pull off looks that no one can pull off. Take this Proenza Schouler dress (with Roger Vivier shoes). As with most of Cate?s looks, if this was on another woman, I would be yelling. On Cate, it?s stunning and beautiful. Girl is 43 years old, and she looks younger than most of the women at this event.
Elle Fanning in Dolce & Gabbana Calvin Klein. It has straps! So I?m okay with it. It seems slightly too mature for a 14-year-old, but I think the cut of the skirt saves it for Elle ? if it had been tight throughout, I would have a problem. But she looks good!
Emma Stone in Valentino. DISASTER. From head to toe, I really dislike this Pepto-Bismol thing. I don?t have a major issue with young women wearing pink? but don?t do it if the dress is this particular shade of Pepto-pink. The sheer sleeves suck, and I really wish Emma would stone with the blonde. Sidenote: this looks like something Michelle Williams would wear, right?
Rachel Zoe in an unknown designer? it looks a bit like Calvin Klein. You know what? This would have been minimalist and lovely if the dress went to her knees, and it wasn?t full-length. It would have been cute. But this is just a boring sack on a boring skinny girl.

Emma Watson was one of the big ?gets? at the event, and she was awarded the ?Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award? for her work on The Perks of Being A Wallflower, and her upcoming movies. Emma wore Calvin Klein for the event? I don?t hate it. It?s appropriate on her, it looks fine. It?s not super-exciting or anything, but it?s a solid look. I will say this ? her hair looks good and her makeup looks GREAT.
I don?t know what designer Uma Thurman is wearing ? I suspect it?s Calvin Klein as well. This is one of Uma?s first red carpets since giving birth to a baby girl a few months ago. Incidentally, we still don?t know the name of the baby. I think Uma looks really good here ? I would have liked to see her hair up, but overall, she looks great.
Viola Davis in Calvin Klein? gorgeous. I love when she wears white. It?s a great look for her. I love the pop with the blue shoes too!
Julianne Hough was one of my worst dressed of the event. Look at this mess! Unflattering dress, way too much makeup, and milkmaid hair. Awful. I?m so tired of Julianne trying to be a ?thing? too. It?s over, Julianne. No one is buying it.

You know what else is great? Ashley is now trying to take a page out of Blake Lively?s famewhore girl-guide: the interview takes place during a private cooking lesson, with Ashley emphasizing her amazing culinary skills. Ashley Greene = the new Blake Lively? I could see it. The article also mentions Ashley?s extraordinary, breathtaking, mind-numbing beauty many, many times, and even compares her (favorably) to Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway. You really have to wonder what they?re smoking at Marie Claire, right? Anyway, some highlights:
On Kristen Stewart?s affair with Rupert Sanders: “That is off-limits,” she says sternly, adding with emphasis, “really.” (The studio is rumored to have put a gag order on all the Twilight stars, though at last check the couple appear to be reconciling.)

I?ve gotten very good at detaching whenever I have to go away for three months, which I realize is hard on friends and kind of selfish. You go on a couple of dates, and then someone ships off to do a movie. It?s not like you?re going to fly out and see them, because it?s not serious enough for that.?
On traveling first-class for Twilight and being a working actress: ?Twilight has ruined me. When this is all over, flying internationally is going to be very hard for me. It is just not worth it to buy a first-class ticket, because of the cost. I?m lucky because my dad taught me to be frugal and save. And that?s important because I want to know that I don?t have to take an acting job for two or three years if I don?t want to and that I?ll still be able to make my house and car payments and buy food for my dogs.?

I love that Ashley always get the questions about how her life has changed because of the enormous success of the Twilight franchise, and Ashley consistently answers those questions like she?s got the starring role, like she?s playing Bella and in her mind, all of the Twihards really do care about her and not Kristen Stewart. And she could have slid some dirt in there about Robsten, but she avoided taking the bait. I don?t know how I feel about that ? I probably would have yelled at her if she had said something harsh, but I would have secretly loved it. I can?t wait for Kellan ?Kellan Lutz? Lutz to get questions about Robsten. It will be epic!

Within a month into Taylor Swift?s romance with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, there were widespread reports that Swifty was contemplating a major real estate purchase close to the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Various sources and sites claimed that Swifty was closing in a property that was practically across the street from the Kennedy compound, and that Swifty was doing it all for love. Then, a few months later, there was a weird back-tracking in the press, with oddly-worded denials claiming that Swifty was not purchasing any property. I assumed that maybe she didn?t get the price she wanted, or maybe she was just having a rare moment of maturity. Turns out, not so much. Ethel Kennedy (Conor?s grandmother, widow of RFK) spoke to WENN yesterday, and Ethel let it slip that Swifty was really and truly buying a neighboring property. And then some:
Kennedy family matriarch ETHEL KENNEDY has confirmed her grandson Conor’s girlfriend Taylor Swift is moving into the family’s Hyannis Port neighbourhood in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The country star fell in love with the area while vacationing with her new beau this summer (2012) and recent reports suggested she plans on moving there after purchasing a new home near the Kennedy family compound.
Reports suggested she purchased a beach mansion located opposite Ethel’s home in August (12) – and now the Kennedy clan favourite has confirmed she’s thrilled to have Swift as a neighbour.
She tells WENN, “I’m happy that we’ll be neighbours. I’m thrilled.”
Sources suggest Swift hopes to spend more time around the Kennedys over Thanksgiving in November (12) – and Ethel admits the Love Story singer is always welcome, because she’s a big hit among Conor’s relatives.
She adds, “She is just spectacular; she is just sensational… She’s very kind. You know what she really is? She’s game. She had never sailed before, she sailed; she had never gone dragging before, she dragged… She played everything that everyone else was doing (with) no fuss.”
And she’s not surprised her grandson has fallen in love with Swift, adding, “How could you not? I think the world has.”

Oh, Ethel. She?s been buttered up by professional brown-noser Swifty, who apparently has never met a grandmother she couldn?t charm. It must be the ponytails and the red lips and the polka dots and the antiquing. Swifty is straight out of the 1950s. I would definitely be more interested in knowing the true feelings of Maria Shriver and some of the more astute Kennedy women, the women who protect the Kennedy nest like hawks. To celebrate W Magazine?s 40th anniversary (?Meh!? says nearly everyone), they decided to do four different covers featuring four different ?hot? young actresses representing every decade of W?s 40 years. This Scarlett Johansson cover ? representing the 1990s ? is getting a lot of attention, mostly because of the wig, I suppose. I hate to admit it, but I do remember when this whole look was in style. RIOT GRRRL! Ani DiFranco! Linda Perry! Etc! You know who I idolized in the 90s? I?ve said it before ? Winona Ryder. She was my beauty/body/fashion/career/coolness icon/touchstone.

She named Chris Farley as her favorite person from the 1990s, and when asked about her least favorite ?90s style trend, she says, ?Turtlenecks?they?re horrible. FREE MERCY. FRERCY!!! These are pics of Kim Kardashian, all in white, dropping off her color-coordinated kitty Mercy Kardashian-West at a cat groomer?s place in Miami. The place is called Orange Groomers. Meet me a block away from the location and together we?ll heist Mercy and take her to a better place! We meet at dawn. Bring bolt-cutters and kitty treats.
I do have a question about this grooming. Mercy is still just a kitten, right? I know there are some long-hair cat breeds that definitely have grooming issues. My mom is a cat-mother to two (cross-eyed) Maine Coons, and (Hand to God) she has to SHAVE them. Not to their skin or anything, but a few times a year she has to give them a haircut because their long fur gets so matted and gross. But the overwhelming majority of cats (at least in my experience, and I?ve had a lot of cats) are very clean, and they?re capable of keeping up with their own grooming. So here?s my question: why is Mercy?s coat so matted and gross already, to the point where she already needs to be groomed? Is it because Mercy has been living in Miami, and it?s hot as balls there, and she doesn?t feel like grooming her long fur? Or has Mercy simply given up? Look at that kitty face! That face says ?FML.?
As for Kim? at least we?re not looking at her butt crack, and at least she?s not wearing leather jodhpurs. So that makes her Mercy-coordinated outfit a success, I suppose.

In the upcoming Wachowski siblings movie, the 46-year-old actress portrays characters of different races and genders. Of her many roles, she said, "I loved them all. I have to say I did love being turned into Dr. Ovid. Never before in my life would I ever have thought anybody anywhere would hire me to be an Asian man for any reason. So that was probably a day that I felt like I?m doing something that?s unique and that I?ll never have the chance to do again.?
Later, Halle praised the film, saying it reminded her of why she became an actress in the first place. "Cloud Atlas" hits theaters on October 26th.

Actor Russell Crowe has reportedly separated from wife of nine years Danielle Spencer amidst rumors that her “close friendship” with her Dancing With The Stars partner Damian Whitewood was a little more than just friendly. The Daily Mail says:
Danielle allegedly turned to Damia for companionship while Crowe spent most of his time in England filming Les Miserables.
And during her time on the series, they went to several concerts together.
Spencer was [also] spotted enjoying a night out with Whitewood [several months ago].
