You can stop holding out hope that studios would roundup enough money to convince Christian Bale to come back as Batman for theJustice League movie because he says unequivocally that he’s done with Batman. Hey, Michael Keaton is waving his hands around for some reason. Wonder what that guy wants?
Then Man of Steel and Dark Knight screenwriter David S. Goyer confirmed that the Justice League?s Batman would be a rebooted character. So that pretty much closed the book.
Still, with news like this, sometimes you just have to hear it from the man himself.
?We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That?s enough. Let?s not get greedy,? says Bale, who called EW to promote his upcoming revenge drama Out of the Furnace (in theaters Nov. 27). ?Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. I recently saw a random vampire comedy from last year called Vamps, with Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter. It wasn’t an excellent movie by any means, but it was goofy and cute and reminded me why I was was so fond of Alicia Silverstone. It also had some great supporting actors, including Sigourney Weaver and Dan Stevens (Cousin Matthew from Downton Abbey) before he got all skinny and weird.
My rambling point is that Alicia Silverstone still gets some work beyond the extreme vegan lifestyle she promotes, but it’s not that notable. She was also on “Suborgatory” last year. In the latest news about Alicia, she’s launching a breastmilk sharing service for vegan moms who need milk or want to share their breastmilk with others. It sounds like she’s just providing a forum for them to contact each other and that no money is being exchanged. Here’s the announcement from her blog about it.
A couple weeks ago, another mama I know gave birth to a son. She e-mailed to let me know how things were going, and she was beside herself. She’d tried to do everything so that this baby would have the healthiest, happiest start in life–she nourished herself during pregnancy with clean, kind foods; had a beautiful home birth; and planned to breastfeed from now until her son could say, “No thanks.” But because of a breast reduction surgery, she found she wouldn’t be able to make enough milk for him, no matter how much precious boobie time they spent together. She tried reaching out in her community for donor milk, but it was almost impossible to figure out what kind of lifestyle choices the donors had made. And after all that hard work keeping herself vibrant and healthy, she felt she had a right to demand better for her baby.
A lot of women unfortunately have a similar struggle, and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be able to give their babies the most amazing start in life with clean, mean, glorious breast milk. And because we are a community of beautiful souls who recognize the importance of food as health, I say we help support those mamas and babies who need a hand during one of the most important times in their lives. It’s why I’m starting the Kind Mama Milk Share, a way for moms to connect with other moms in their area. If you have milk to share–post it! If you are in need of milk–post it! I’m hearing Alicia say this in that unique kind of questioning sing-song voice she has. Did you see Clueless as many times as I did and can you hear her voice in your head too?
I guess there’s a real call for this because there are vegan moms who don’t want their baby to get any milk from meat eaters, wine guzzlers or smokers. As two out of three of those things (not when I was breastfeeding, I just ate meat!) I find that a little judgy, but it’s their baby and they want the best for their baby so I get it. It’s also really nice that Alicia is doing this to help other moms and not for money at all.
If Gwyneth Paltrow is the Louis Vuitton of celebrity lifestyle moms and Jessica Alba is Coach, then Alicia Silverstone is a recycled patchwork purse from the Goodwill that looks cute with the right outfit. She posts videos where she feeds her kid from her own mouth, she’s not too concerned about the marketability of her image. It’s not my “lifestyle” choice (her word, I dislike that “lifestyle” term) but I respect how true she is to herself, and how she’s not monetizing everything. I wrote that before I bothered to check her website, where she has links to her skincare line for Juice Beauty. It’s just a line she developed for another company though. So maybe she’s more like an Etsy vegan purse manufacturer, but an enthusiastic hobbyist, not one of those too-serious hipsters who call themselves an “artisan.”

The ?What Have I Done? singer and her ?Samantha Who? hubby looked very affectionate as they posed for the cameras outside the El Rey Theatre prior to the gig.
As for her fuller figure, Rimes told press that she feels confident enough to gain a little weight without freaking out.
"It's nice to have a husband who tells you you're beautiful all the time. I'll say to him: 'I've gained a few pounds' and he'll say: 'Good!'"

The ?How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days? starlet and the ?This Is The End? heartthrob looked to be enjoying the scene they were shooting at an outdoor park location, and joked with each other in between takes.
Meanwhile, Kate is featured on the cast of a new HBO original movie called ?Clear History? from writer/actor/producer Larry David.
Also starring Jon Hamm, Eva Mendes, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Michael Keaton, and Amy Ryan, ?Clear History? is about ?a former marketing executive at a start-up electric car company who ends up publicly humiliated for leaving behind the billion dollar idea, and ultimately gets a second chance for revenge against his boss (Hamm) under a new identity.?
It hits HBO on August 10th.

Here are some new photos of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian walking the red carpet for the ?Friend Movement Campaign Benefit Concert? at El Rey Theater in LA yesterday. I?m also including some photos of their exit, in which LeAnn looked kind of toasty. I guess LeAnn performed at the event?? Sure. I?m not including any photos of any of the other guests at the event because I didn?t recognize any of the other names. This was not an A-list shindig. Which is fine, because I think this is some kind of ?anti-bullying? charity thing.
The Mail is going on and on about how LeAnn has a ?fuller figure? nowadays. She does seem to have gained some much-needed weight, and her legs and arms aren?t scaring me anymore, so that?s a good thing. I can?t tell if LeAnn got her bolt-ons fixed (they were super-wonky before) or if her weight gain just changed the look of her implants. You know? I don?t know. I?m sure these photos will inspire some people to claim that she could be pregnant. At this point, I kind of think that?s her only option for staying in the news, right?
As I always do, I checked in with LeAnn?s Twitter to see if she had started any fights in the past few days, but honestly, there?s nothing too obnoxious there. She wished Eddie?s mom a happy birthday. She tweeted a photo of some beers. She?s been retweeting some inspirational stuff, and she said she did her fitting for Anger Management and ?Loving my character’s getup! Charlie is a doll. Looking forward to tmrw?. That?s about it.

Here’s Johnny Depp outside Jimmy Kimmel’s show yesterday afternoon. He’s entering the final stretch of Lone Ranger promotion — the Disney movie cost so much to make and opens tomorrow against Despicable Me and holdover release Monsters University, so it will be interesting to see whether Johnny’s star power can recoup the film’s mammoth budget of around $250 million plus all the costs involved with promotion and distribution. Johnny’s international fans are going to have to pull some major ticket sales for this movie to make a profit, and that might be more difficult than usual when he’s playing a Native American rather than a swashbuckling, global-trotting pirate. Who knows what will happen?
Anyway, Jimmy Kimmel and Johnny got a little fresh together with Jimmy commenting on Johnny’s “beautiful face” and Johnny skipping a beat before laying a few kisses on him. One on the lips! I’ve included those videos at the bottom of this post, but first, here are some excerpts from Johnny’s interview with Charlie Rose. He admits that Disney was nervous when they saw him in Tonto makeup for the first time, but he talks about all sorts of other stuff too:
On his split with Vanessa: “When you have children, there is no room for lies, no room for anything but the truth. Anything other than that is a bad example, I believe. We were just very truthful with them and they were just incredibly understanding, incredibly accepting. I was extremely proud of them, the way they dealt with it.”
On playing The Lone Ranger sidekick: “I would rather be a Keith than a Mick.”
Aging gives him more freedom: “I suppose the only thing at 50 you can really start to look forward to is just total irresponsibility. As you get older you can just sit in a chair, wear anything you want, you know you can walk down; old people dress cool. You know they wear sweatpants. The elderly have it down.”
Having children made him grow up. “You know you start getting hit with some very interesting situation in life, you as a parent when they approach that teenage area, which is frightening because you still have memories of that age and they things you were doing at that age…. Please don’t do what I did.”

Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge are the new ?faces? of Burberry. Burberry has been doing this for a while ? they trade up their celebrity faces nearly every season, and usually it?s someone with more celebrity name-recognition than actual career acclaim. Sienna and Tom are a real-life couple, and parents to daughter Marlowe Sturridge. So, they obviously look very coupled-up in the ad campaign. For me, Tom is kind of a blank slate ? I don?t know much about him other than he?s seriously pretty and trying to hide the pretty behind awful hair (and sometimes awful facial hair) and I also know he?s tight with Robert Pattinson. That?s it. That?s all I know about him. Which should make him a perfect blank slate for advertisers, but I?m not into how he looks here.
As for Sienna? I once thought she was incredibly pretty. But she?s a smoker and she loves to party and she loves to sunbathe topless with married lovers. Which means that she?s sort of lost her youthful ?cuteness?. And the awful hair style isn?t helping at all. I think Sienna is trying to put herself out there as ?the new and improved Sienna, now with motherhood? and this new version is less likely to want media attention. But then she poses with her lover and baby-daddy for an ad campaign?? It doesn?t make much sense.
The ad campaign was done by Mario Testino, and it?s called ?Trench Kisses?. The director of Burberry, Christopher Bailey, said that: ?This was a shoot full of love and laughter. It was such a treat to work with Sienna and Tom, and to capture their magic together.? The commercial is a lot cuter than the still photos:

This is just a reminder: Evan Rachel Wood is still pregnant! She was photographed yesterday in Hollywood, being driven to a friend?s house. Her husband Jamie Bell was also photographed over the weekend picking up some beer, which was allegedly for their baby shower. Maybe the baby shower was over the weekend? I like that we don?t really know. I like that Evan and Jamie aren?t inviting People Magazine to their baby shower. I like that their guest list doesn?t include reality stars and C-list celebrities who pose on a red carpet before they enter the baby shower.
I have no idea when Evan is due, but I suspect it?s soon. Honestly, my summer-baby prediction pool got really messed up when Kim Kardashian gave birth early. I?m still surprised that Busy Phillips hasn?t given birth yet, you know? So I don?t know when Evan is due. My guess is within the next month, maybe. Maybe after Duchess Kate and before Halle Berry? I think Halle is due in October anyway, so that?s not much of a prediction.
I?ll admit it, I kind of a shipper for Evan and Jamie. I just love them as a couple and I want to think they make each other really happy. I think Jamie calms ERW, and he centers her as a person and as an artist. And I hope they?re both really jazzed about the baby. So cute.

Royal baby fever is upon us. Even though the initial reports of Duchess Kate?s due date have her expecting sometime next week or the week after, some royal watchers claim that she could give birth as early as this week. She could be giving birth right now! Or tomorrow! Or the Fourth of July! Princess Diana?s birthday (July 1st) has come and gone, so at least we don?t have to worry about that association. Maybe the baby wants to wait. Just like mom! Anyway, as Great Britain (and the world!) prepares for the new royal baby, we?re getting some added info/gossip:
Kate Middleton is due to give birth on July 11 — but should her baby arrive early, the palace has a plan in place, multiple sources revealed in the June 24 issue of Us Weekly.
“Catherine really wants to be near [Prince William] in the final weeks,” an insider said of the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, who’s been dividing her time between her home in Anglesey, Wales, and Nottingham Cottage in London. “It’s important to her.”
Should Middleton go into labor early, a helicopter will fly her 70 minutes away to London’s St. Mary’s Hospital. Once checked in, she hopes to give birth naturally, according to a source.
However, should she run into delivery complications, an insider says “she will have a C-section.”
The royal baby’s birth will be announced via a bulletin on an easel behind the gates of Buckingham Palace announcing, “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a child.” According to a palace aide, “There will be gun salutes, flag flying and bell pealing. It’s very exciting.”
Not as thrilling, though, as the first glimpse of the royal newborn. When the first-time parents leave the hospital, the aide promises that the 31-year-old royals “will pose with the baby for pictures.”
After a brief separation — William will resume his Royal Air Force duties in Wales following a two-week paternity leave, while Middleton and their baby will shuttle between London and her parents’ place in Berkshire — the brood will move to Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A in September, where a fully decorated nursery awaits.

I?m not throwing any shade on Kate for having a contingency plan in case she needs a C-section. She?s a small, narrow-hipped woman, and that baby isn?t going to come sliding out, you know? If a C-section happens, it happens. But I will throw shade on this: ?Catherine really wants to be near [Prince William] in the final weeks. It’s important to her.? So important that she?s been staying off-and-on with her parents for months now. So important that she took a helicopter ride to London for a hair appointment a few days ago. Incidentally, the weirdness of Kate taking a helicopter ride to London for a hair appointment is being overshadowed by the fact that Kate didn?t go to the same hair guy, Richard Ward, that she?s been seeing for years. Like, is that the real drama? That she?s changing hair stylists?! She must want the baby to see her for the first time with sausage curls. That should become the meme, y?all. Somebody Photoshop Kate?s sausage curls onto a random baby.
Us Weekly also reports that the paparazzi have already begun to camp out outside of St. Mary?s Hospital in London, which is where Kate will give birth. Us Weekly also says that ?a bay of parking spaces outside the hospital has been closed off with signs saying it’s reserved for an ?event? spanning July 1 to July 31.? Yeah. I think it?s happening sooner rather than later.

Here are some photos of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault at the Yves Saint Laurent Menswear Spring/Summer 2014 show on Sunday. CB and I had a little mini-debate about whether Salma has had a breast reduction at some point this year. Some of you commented on that a few months ago, when Salma?s bust looked uncharacteristically small for whatever reason. Now that I?m really looking? I still don?t know. I suspect that she?s lost some weight overall, and maybe her boobs got smaller because of that? Because she does look smaller overall. Her waist is ridiculous.
As for Salma and her husband? well, Salma recently gave an interview in which she reiterated yet again why she?s so lucky to have found a skeevy billionaire who takes care of her the love of her life.
Salma Hayek believes positive thinking helped her achieve all her personal goals. The actress wed billionaire Franois-Henri Pinault when she was in her forties and together they have daughter Valentina. Although the 46-year-old star is blissfully happy now, she didn’t always have such a positive outlook on life.
“There was a time in my late thirties when I felt I wasn’t in the best shape physically, that I wasn’t finding any good roles, and that I hadn’t married or had children,” she admitted to the British edition of OK! magazine. “But then I started think more positively and then I met my future husband!”
Salma and Franois-Henri welcomed Valentina into the world in 2007 and prior to that the actress was more interested in focusing on her career. Now she has a family, she realizes what she was missing before.
“There’s nothing more beautiful in life than your family,” she gushed. “I waited a long time to find that in my life and now that I have it, I realize how important and fulfilling it is for me.”
While her family comes first, Salma is still making time for acting and appears in Grown Ups 2 alongside Adam Sandler. The stunning brunette loved working with the funny man.
“It’s a really good atmosphere to be on the set with Adam,” she smiled. “He’s such a gentleman and a pleasure to work with.”

I can?t tell if Salma just irritates me these days and so my feathers are ruffled no matter what she says, or if I truly dislike what she?s saying. Ugh. I just feel like Salma is so patronizing about her marriage, and I think she?s deluded for thinking that she and Francois have some kind of intense love match and that he loves her for who she really is. She?s even said that before, that she would still be with him if he wasn?t rich, and he would still be with her if she wasn?t beautiful with an amazing rack (I?m paraphrasing). He?s rich, she?s a beautiful trophy wife. Why do we need to pretend this is something that it?s not?
Also, Salma gave another weird interview in which she discussed how her animals were her children before she got married and had Valentina. You guys, Salma had TIGERS. And the tigers always died, apparently. Salma said: “One (tiger), caught in the air-conditioner, died. One sweet cub developed a temper and had to go. My third, Rambo, the tiger of my life, was a little baby doll? Three years we played inside our house. I can’t talk of how he died. It’s too upsetting. Before I had my child, animals were my life. The Academy Award-winning actress looked beautiful in a cobalt blue ensemble as she struck a pose in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House.
As for the flick, the comedy is officially described as follows: "Uptight FBI special agent Sarah Ashburn is paired with testy Boston cop Shannon Mullins in order to take down a ruthless drug lord. The hitch: neither woman has ever had a partner -- or a friend for that matter."
Also starring Melissa McCarthy and Marlon Wayans, "The Heat" is currently in theaters nationwide!
