I thought Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas only had two dogs, but no, they have three. Sophie and Joe have been in lockdown in LA for more than a month. They too were early quarantiners, although Joe is apparently getting itchy in lockdown while Sophie is very happy to be home and nesting. There haven?t been tons of photos of Sophie and Joe out, walking their dogs, which makes me think they?ve probably been letting their dogs out in the backyard, or maybe Joe has just been walking them solo and the paparazzi haven?t been catching him.
As for the dogs, the Alaskan Klee Kai is Porky Basquiat, and I guess that breed of dog just stays kind of small/medium sized. They?ve had him for years and he still has that small-puppy look, so whatever. They also adopted the golden retriever last year after their puppy Waldo died in an accident. Looks like they?ve also added a corgi to the mix. LOOK AT THAT CORGI. That corgi knows he?s with a famous mom and dad. We don?t know the name of the corgi, so let?s just call him Chonk Butt. And its fine to call him that because Chonk Butt cant read what were saying!
As I?ve been walking every day, I?ve been seeing so many quarantine doggos and I?m really enjoying it. It makes me want a dog and I keep looking at the available animals at the local shelter. I mean? should I? With two cats? The thing is, I?m far more likely to adopt a third cat realistically. And then, I would reason to myself, that the third kitty needs a friend and then? yeah, it?s a slippery slope full of panther kittens and chonks.

| Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez might borrow billions of dollars to buy the Mets | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The idea of borrowing a huge sum of money makes my skin itch. Mortgages are one thing, although I do believe people should be realistic about how much house they actually need, you know? But getting a loan to buy a sports team? I would be racked with anxiety. I would spin out the worst case scenario, which would obviously be ?holy sh-t, how could I ever pay back $2 billion dollars?? But Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are different. They apparently went to JP Morgan to raise capital for a proposed purchase of the Mets franchise. Whew.
Retired baseball star Alex Rodriguez and his fianc, recording artist and actor Jennifer Lopez, have retained JPMorgan Chase to raise capital for a possible bid on the New York Mets, people familiar with the matter said. The superstar couple is working with managing director Eric Menell, the bank?s co-head of North American media investment banking, said the people, who were granted anonymity because the matter is private. Menell didn?t respond to several requests seeking comment. Representatives for Rodriguez and Lopez did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Wilpon family, which owns the Mets, said in December they were in talks to sell up to 80% of the Major League Baseball team to hedge fund titan Steve Cohen in a deal that valued the club at $2.6 billion. Under terms of that proposed deal, the Wilpons would?ve maintained control of the franchise for five years. Negotiations fell apart after Cohen sought to amend the terms. The Mets have retained Allen & Co.?s Steve Greenberg to oversee the sale process.
It isn?t uncommon for an athlete, entertainer or celebrity to hold a limited position in a professional sports team. A-Rod?s former teammate, Derek Jeter, for instance, is a part owner of baseball?s Miami Marlins. The team?s managing partner is venture capitalist Bruce Sherman, while Jeter, who owns about 4% of the club, runs business and baseball operations. Jeter contributed about $25 million to the purchase of the team, which was sold for $1.2 billion.
A-Rod and J-Lo, as the recording artist is known, would similarly require deep-pocketed partners in order to pull off the purchase. Their combined net worth is about $700 million.
Unlike with Cohen, no preconditions regarding control of the team will be attached to the sale. Cohen holds an 8% stake in the Mets. The Wilpons assumed control of the franchise in 2002 at a valuation of $391 million. Whoever buys the team will assume annual losses of at least $50 million.
[From Variety]
Wait, so are J-Rod looking to purchase the 80% of the franchise on offer? Or are they just looking for a limited position, like Jeter has with the Marlins, like Serena Williams has a limited ownership stake in the Miami Dolphins, etc. To me, it?s one thing if you?re investing your own fortune in a limited stake in a professional team. That, to me, sounds like a good investment in the long run. But it sounds like J-Rod want to own 80% of the Mets franchise and they?re going to borrow more than $2 billion to get it. And they?re not even married! Think about how messy this would be if they did marry? and divorce. Also: this was totally a plotline on Billions, remember? Only instead of the Mets, it was an NFL franchise.

| Alicia Silverstone: There's not enough time in the day, I don't understand it | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Alicia Silverstone has an interview with People Magazine in which she describes her life at home as a single working mom in isolation with her son Bear, 8. Some of what she said rang true to me, particularly that she is busier now than ever. I think I?m just trying to work my way out of this, but I could relate. She said she works, does some stuff with her son and the day is over before she knows it. I got the impression that her days also feel the same to her, but maybe I?m projecting. Alicia is promoting three projects: the Valley Girl musical, (that looks crazy, why did they do that?), a VOD movie called Bad Therapy, with Rob Corddry, and The Babysitters Club on Netflix. Heres what she told People.
?I?m so grateful that me and my family are healthy,? she tells PEOPLE in this week?s issue. ?But the sort of sweet part is you do get to slow down a little bit. This morning, Bear woke up and asked if we could make pancakes, and the answer was ?Actually, yes, we don?t have to run to school so we can make pancakes!? She adds, ?Then we take care of the dogs, I get some work done and we have lunch and take the dogs on a walk again, maybe do some yoga or kids? exercise, then he helps me make dinner, and there?s reading, and the day is gone!?
?Suddenly everything is coming at once,? she says, noting the she is having a bit of screen resurgence these past few years, after spending a lot of time gaining critical acclaim doing theater in LA at the Geffen Theater and on Broadway. (?I love, love doing theater.?)
?My series American Woman, and the Yorgos Lanthimos film [The Killing of a Sacred Deer] I did kept me busy for a little while,? she says. She also had Book Club and the most recent Diary of a Wimpy Kid film, plus the creepy horror movie The Lodge, on top of all the work she does on the side. She says she?s now running out of time during the days for much else.
?There?s not enough time in the day for anything, I don?t understand it!? she says with a laugh. ?I have two more books in me I need to get out [the longtime vegan authored The Kind Diet in 2009], and I love to share how I feed my son on Instagram in hopes it can help other moms feed their kids healthy and well. And then I write blogs for my website, the kindlife.com.?
As for cooking and eating clean in a time like this, she says she?s more mindful than ever of what she puts in her body.
?The fact that there isn?t school and birthday parties, and that I?m not going out to dinner is making us a little more healthy and cleaner anyway,? she says. ?There?s less that we have to balance out. But I?m really mindful that I want to keep our immune systems really strong so that we?re able to be resilient and fend off any infections and take control of our health as best we can. I?m cooking things like miso soups, kenpira stew?recipes that are really nourishing and healing.?
The best part of it is her son loves to cook with her as much as she does.
?He?s a little chef, my Bear,? she says. ?We love to cook together, but one day he turned around and just started cooking on his own. I couldn?t believe it. He makes the most delicious meals!?
[From People]
That?s a good problem to have, to be too busy. I was nodding along to that until she got braggy about how well she was eating and how her kid is cooking delicious food. Of course Im cooking more and my son is also cooking and learning how to cook and bake, but we both have a lot of cooking fails. Were also eating more snacks and desserts. Ive seen Top Chef Jr. but I still have a hard time imagining an eight-year-old making delicious meals on their own. I guess some kids just take to it though. Plus I was never much of a cook and didnt model that at home. Im decent, but I almost always follow a recipe. Alicia is vegan and very conscious of what she eats, so shes cooking whole foods every day. Did you see that video she made showing off her kitchen? Shes done a couple of kitchen videos actually. She doesnt use paper towels, shes reuses the plastic vegetable bags from the store, and she stores everything in glass jars. Thats kind of admirable actually.
In a video she posted on Instagram earlier this month, Alicia asked Bear what he would eat if he could have anything he wanted. He said Whole Foods pizza, a plate of kale and then vegan ice cream. He said he wants to feel good and that burgers, regular ice cream and McDonalds would make him feel bad and lazy. He also said he could make vegan pizza taste just like regular pizza. That must take a while.
Christian Siriano is a wonderful person.
