Among the standout moments at Sunday?s AMAs was Selena Gomez?s acceptance speech after she won favorite pop/rock artist. The AMAs marked her return to the public eye after checking into a treatment facility last August to focus on her mental health. Selena, who also suffers from Lupus, took the opportunity to tell fans how important it was to focus on themselves. During her speech, her voice cracked, which spoke to the rawness of the words she was delivering. It was so heartfelt, part of me wonders if she intended to be this open before she went up or if she just surrendered to the moment:
Selena opened by saying that in 2014, it was on the AMA stage that she was first, ?authentically 100 percent honest with all of you.? She was referring to her performance of The Heart Wants What it Wants which you can watch here. The speech was so short and yet she said so much in it. Like how she pointedly talked about having no control over how much the the world knows about her life. The line that resonated to me the loudest was when she said, “I had to stop. ‘Cuz I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside.” She said it was such conviction. It made it even more powerful when she backed it up by saying no longer needs someone else’s validation and can’t control if others respect her. She knew all the eyes were going to be on her and that likely there were those who expected to see her stumble. Instead of trying to over-polish her performance, she laid bare her fight so to reach others who are fighting. Every person who does this, every person who reaches out to those struggling reaches at least one more person, I’m sure of it.
I am not alone in my admiration. Many were moved and inspired by Selena’s speech. Lady Gaga posted this to her Instagram:

Kylie Jenner, who has made so many contributions to the music industry, was a no-show at Sunday night?s American Music Awards, but she had a good excuse. As much as I don?t really think any of the Kardashians should ever raise children, I?m okay with them owing pets, as long as they are all as loving pet parents as Kylie (somewhat surprisingly) turned out to be.
The 19-year-old model let her social media followers know on Sunday that her dog Bambi, an Italian Greyhound, was going into labor with her puppies. The papa is Norman, another Italian Greyhound, in case you were curious. I am an absolute sucker for puppies, so I would have skipped the AMAs for that too. Kylie tweeted, ?For those asking…I was planning on going to AMA this year but Bambi went into labor so I’m here taking care of puppies.? She did post a sad face emoji in the tweet, so you know she?s sincere.

We heard in early 2015 that Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel was planning to launch her own branded marijuana strain which was specifically engineered not to give users the munchies. It sounded like something she was just considering and might not follow up on, but now that recreational marijana was just legalized in four more states it might be happening. (Note that this is sourced to the new issue of USWeekly, but I read it and didn’t see this article so it’s possible that YourTango is just rehashing that older story.)
Bethenny Frankel, the creator of the Skinnygirl empire and cast member on the Real Housewives of New York, plans to launch her own line of “Skinnygirl marijuana” in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon and Washington where recreational marijuana is legal, according to a source in the newest issue of Us Weekly.
According to the source, “It will be a specially engineered strain of pot designed to not give you the munchies. She read about how profitable the cannabis industry is and wants to get in on that.”
