Each season brings on celebrities as guest stars, and Katie Holmes is the next to make an appearance on ?How I Met Your Mother.?
The ?Romantics? babe will play one of Ted Mosby?s girl crushes, who also fits in as the recurring role of the ?Slutty Pumpkin.?
Of working with Katie, the show?s co-creator Craig Thomas told Vulture, "Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we've saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show?s history."
The guest spot will be part of the Halloween episode of ?How I Met Your Mother? - which airs at 8pm on CBS.

As part of no contest please for misdemeanor theft, Lindsay Lohan was ordered to do 480 hours of community service. 380 of those are to be done at the Downtown Women’s Center and 100 hours at the Los Angeles County Morgue.
At present, she’s completed 60 hours at the Downtown Women’s Center and no hours at the morgue though she has completed her shoplifters awareness class. The delay is in part to her being busy causing scenes at Fashion Week.
Lindsay’s next court date, a progress report hearing, is on October 17. As a result, her team is telling her to “log significant time to show the judge that she is working towards completing her hours.” Guess what Lindsay did? Recently hired as the face of Philipp Plein’s Spring 2012 collection, she booked a ticket to Milan for the runway show this weekend. “Lindsay’s rationale is that she has a year to complete the service, so she isn’t concerned about it right now.”
Although Lindsay should be concerned. Says an insider, “The judge has told Lindsay in the past that she will not accept any excuses whatsoever for her failure to complete her community service, period. If Lindsay was smart, she would work to get those hours done.”
But was anyone expecting different? Everything she’s done so far has shown she acts like an entitled child. And she should. Look at how many chances she gets. Anyone else and they’d been sent to Singapore to be caned by now.

“I’m a female! I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do. A make-up artist friend once said, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look in a mirror’. I’m surrounded by them all the time – you sit in hair and make-up – so I guess I just have this mechanism where I tune it out. So every once in a while, I’ll look and I’ll be like, ‘Wait, that’s what I look like?’
“I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom. Being a parent changes the vanity at least a little bit. It has to. Your priorities are different.”
I’m the same way about not looking into a mirror. Not because I have body image issues but because if I do, there’s a good chance I might fall in love and stand there for hours staring at myself. I’m so handsome.

Sarah Michelle Gellar covers the October issue of Health to promote her new television show, “Ringer,” in which she plays identical twins. If the show succeeds, this will be her first successful return to television since the conclusion of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in 2003 after a grand total of 145 episodes. In keeping with the “mirror image” concept of her latest show, Gellar has admitted that she’s not always comfortable with her own body when she catches a glimpse of her own reflection. So basically, she’s just like the rest of us, right?
On Her Body Image: I’m a female! I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do. A make-up artist friend once said “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look in a mirror.” I’m surrounded by them all the time - you sit in hair and make-up - so I guess I just have this mechanism where I tune it out. On Going Into Labor At The Gym: It was funny, too, because I was getting cranky, and I said to my trainer, “I’m just cranky today.” She was like, “Maybe it’s because you?re going to give birth!” And I was like, “Nah, not yet.” It turned out I was in labour, I didn’t realise.
On Teaching Healthy Habits To Her Daughter: Well, we’ve already taught her to love healthy food. I think it?s important at a young age to enjoy different tastes. And we make this green juice for her. It’s basically everything but the kitchen sink. We go to the farmers’ market and buy everything and just put it in the juicer: kale, Swiss chard, carrots, celery. You name it. And now we’ve all started drinking it, and we’ve all been healthier.
On Dutchess Kate & Pippa Middleton: It seems like people are worried that Catherine’s stressed. I feel like 10 years ago, it would have been like, “Oh, she looks incredible.” Whereas you look at her sister, who has such a fabulously athletic body. . . I think there’s this movement now, where more women, finally, want to look like that.

Oddly, I had close to the same experience as Gellar with my early stages of childbirth. Perhaps I got lucky and had it easier than most, but I honestly expected much worse and didn’t realize that I was in labor until about eight hours after the process started, and I nearly got to the hospital too late. In addition, I also agree with her that most women in contemporary society have some degree of body image issues although they may or not be clinically described as having body dysmophic disorder itself. Still, Sarah Michelle has a pretty great body, and she seems fairly grounded in life. She’s been married to Freddie Prinze Jr. for nine years, and she’s finally returning to television. Let’s hope she sticks around for awhile.

Emily Deschanel gave birth to a boy! Huzzah! Emily and husband David Hornsby welcomed their first child, a boy they named Henry, on Wednesday. Emily announced her pregnancy last Spring, and it was written into Bones so the ?Dr. Brennan? character is pregnant too, although God knows what they?re going to do for this new season (starting in November). Previously, Emily spoke about her pregnancy diet - she stayed vegan throughout her pregnancy - and her birth plans for a doula and a hypnobirth.
And baby makes three!
Bones star Emily Deschanel and her husband, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s David Hornsby, welcomed their first child Wednesday, a baby boy named Henry Hornsby, Deschanel’s rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Deschanel, 34, and Hornsby were married in 2010. The actress maintained a vegan diet throughout her pregnancy.
The new mom’s Bones co-star TJ Thyne took to Twitter to share the happy news. “CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he Tweeted Wednesday. “Yay yay yay!!! :o)”
But he’s surely not the only one celebrating Henry’s arrival.
In April, shortly after her sister Emily announced her pregnancy, Zooey Deschanel could hardly contain her excitement, Tweeting: “I am super excited to be an aunt!”
