Waving and blowing kisses to fans along the way, Uma Thurman arrived at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes, France earlier today (May 10).
The 41-year-old actress' check-in comes a day before the opening of the star-studded 64th annual Cannes Film Festival.
Uma is slated to sit alongside Jude Law as they serve on Robert De Niro's jury for the festival.
Hollywood heavyweights Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp will also be among the annual event's attendees, as they both have movies set to premiere there.

In an exclusive Us Weekly photo, the Morning Glory actress, 32, showed off a brand-new ring on her wedding finger while out and about in L.A. on Sunday. Alas, it’s just a ring! A source close to McAdams tells Us she is “100 percent not engaged.” Sheen’s manager similarly denies the couple of about 10 months are headed for the altar.
So basically all Us did was get an exclusive photo of Rachel McAdams wearing a ring. Did they pay $500 for this? Because it seems totally worth it. Like my diamond encrusted Rolex that reflects so much light I can’t even tell the time.

Glamour model Kelly Brook revealed yesterday that she had lost the baby girl she was expecting with former rugby star Thom Evans. The Daily Mail says:
The striking model, 31, who was nearly five months pregnant, was rushed to hospital at the end of last week, but tragically suffered a miscarriage.
A spokesman for the star said, “I can confirm that Kelly and Thom have very sadly lost their baby. They request that everyone please respects their privacy at this very painful time.
There will be no further comment.”

Yesterday, CB reported that Linnocent could possibly be getting away with 14 DAYS of jail for her crack thievery/probation violation, after the judge sentenced her to 120 DAYS. The idea of Linnocent under house arrest instead of jail was bad enough - but the idea that Linnocent would simply be done after two (cracked-out) weeks is terrible. Linnocent thought so too - thus, she went out partying last night to celebrate. She looks so? yeah. Like she?s been sitting in the club bathroom, doing shooters in between lines of coke. And is she getting behind the wheel?!?! No, she’s not, is she? I can’t tell. Anyway, she?s going to formally sentenced tomorrow, and most sources think it will play out in a scenario where Linnocent goes to jail for some kind of short period of time, then goes under house arrest for a short period of time. We?ll see how it all plays out though.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night Linnocent went out (again) for photographer Tyler Shields? show, Life is Not a Fairytale. The cracked-out shenenigans were all over the place:
Lindsay Lohan debuted some seriously sexy vampire photos at celeb photographer Tyler Shields Presents Life is Not a Fairytale event on Saturday. But instead of enjoying the party at the downtown Los Angeles gallery space, LiLo spent most of the night locked away in a private room:
“No one was expecting the paparazzi to rush the building like they did, so it wasn’t surprising that Lindsay freaked,” an event insider tells us. “But she wanted to be there for Tyler, so she stepped away into a private room while unwanted photogs were cleared from the building.”
While Lindsay isolated herself from party guests, little sis Ali scoped out Shields’ racy photos displayed on the walls.
“Lindsay resurfaced after the coast was clear and agreed to do a few pictures, but because there was such a commotion with her being there, the building security agreed to let her car come around back to let her leave in peace.”

The fashion and style sites are making a big deal about this ?new trend? - big, Southern hair. It?s a trend I embrace on women like Reese Witherspoon and my mother. It just works on Southern ladies. On non-Southern ladies, it?s kind of a disaster. Take Sarah Jessica Parker, who in these photos is arriving for a benefit for The Robin Hood Foundation (an excellent foundation). SJP decided to wear this lovely purple dress (I?m assuming that it?s Halston, since SJP is the creative director there), and she styled herself with this massive Dynasty hair. I think? um? odd.
Gisele Bundchen was at the fundraiser too - she wore this equally odd, half-sheer dress. You put this on a woman with a slightly larger bust, and she would look tacky and trashy. On Gisele, it kind of works. I hate when her hair is slicked back, though. She looks like a Disney villainess.
And here?s Mariska Hargitay, phoning it in, style-wise. She looks okay, but it?s nothing ground-breaking.

If you?re not a fan of Bones, you should probably just skip this post. I love Bones, and I?m trying to get CB to start watching it. It?s such a good show! I mean, it?s not like high art or anything, but I described it to CB as ?a romantic comedy with gross-out forensics?. I love the chemistry between Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, and I?m looking forward to this season?s final two episodes, which might include SOMETHING in the boning area. Get it? ?Boning.? Ha! Anyway, these are new photos of the stars of Bones at a Paley Center event, including Emily and her growing pregnancy bump in a too-loud orange dress. Even though the dress is fug, I still find her so beautiful, and she David just look RIGHT together. Bones also just recently (in the past week) got picked up for its seventh season. It?s a hit show with a major following and great numbers, so I hope everybody gets to make the show for as long as they want to make it. Meanwhile, Emily recently discussed how her pregnancy is affecting production:
Bones actress Emily Deschanel has said that the show’s producers are struggling to work around her pregnancy.
Deschanel, who plays main character Dr Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan on the series, announced in March that she was expecting her first child with husband David Hornsby.
The actress admitted that it is still uncertain how much her pregnancy will affect the series when it returns for a seventh season this fall.
“I image you’re going to see Brennan behind a microscope a lot next season,” Deschanel joked to Entertainment Weekly. “I think there’s gonna be a lot of close-ups of Brennan.”
“I said I’d work through my hiatus, but we didn’t have a pick up until now, and they have to write before we shoot,” she explained. “It’s a whole situation.”
Deschanel added that they are unlikely to solve the issue by including it as part of her character’s storyline.
“I am not gonna say no, never say never, I guess, but I think it’s unlikely,” Deschanel revealed. “I feel like that would change things so much.”
Bones is scheduled to conclude its currently-airing sixth season on May 19.

Emily is not only the star, she?s also a producer on the show, so that?s why she?s really trying to make the schedule work for everyone - she really, really cares about making sure the show stays in production. Other Bones producers have a different idea though - and it involves that odd ?backdoor spinoff? episode that featured Geoff Stults, Michael Clarke Duncan and Saffron Burrows:
Fox’s Bones spinoff The Finder is still very much in contention for a series order at Fox. But with shelf space at the network so tight, I hear the network and the series’ producers are exploring a way to give the project presence on Fox next season. The pregnancy of Bones star Emily Deschanel is expected to sideline her for as many as 6-7 episodes from Bones’ upcoming seventh season. Fox, producing studio 20th TV and Bones creator Hart Hanson are discussing the use of Finder-flavored episodes as a filler during Deschanel’s maternity leave. Those will be Bones episodes with The Finder star Geoff Stults and his sidekick Michael Clarke Duncan appearing in them, giving Hanson an opportunity to further develop them. The future of the third Finder lead, played by Saffron Burrows, which has drawn polarizing reaction, is unclear, but I hear that the producers felt it was hard to service more than 2 new characters on Bones. Sources stress that this is one of several scenarios in contention for Deschanel’s hiatus.
The Finder was introduced in an episode of Bones last month, which got traction with the veteran series’ fans. However, Fox already has Terra Nova and X Factor on tap for fall and Touch penciled in for midseason, so the network will probably pick up as few as 2 new series. With the Ethan Hawke starrer Exit Strategy and medical drama Weekends at Bellevue gaining momentum, it is probably smart to look at alternatives for The Finder. Keeping the show alive with a short order would make it easy for Fox to give it a full-blown series pickup if any of its other new series fails.

Even though I spent this whole post gushing about how much I love Emily, I think it would be perfectly possible to continue Bones as-is without Emily for seven episodes and everyone would be fine. They could just bring in more interns (Mr. Nigel-Murray is my favorite) or some fun guest stars and it would be all good. We?ll see what happens.

Another day, another fashion extravaganza story where Blake Lively is incapable of making Chanel look high-end and expensive. It?s my continuing belief that there are simply women out there in the world who are incapable of making expensive clothes actually LOOK expensive. Blake Lively is one of those girls - she makes whatever she wears look cheap, like she got it at a (discount) mall. Sidenote: Katie Holmes is this kind of woman as well! Anyway, these are some photos from last night?s Chanel show. All of Karl Lagerfeld?s girls came out for the show - which took place on a boat, for the love of God (because it was the ?Chanel Cruise Collection? or ?Chanel Collection Croisiere Show 2011-12?). They were in Cannes. The light was beautiful. The weather was probably gorgeous. And Blake was flashing her biscuits. I?m actually very happy for Blake - Lagerfeld has been making her cover up in conservative (conservative for Blake) Chanel clothes for too long. FINALLY, she gets to at least show her legs. And ass. And biscuits. I do love this sparkly jacket thing. It?s lovely.

Rachel McAdams takes the cover of the June issue of Elle Magazine. She?s promoting her work in Midnight in Paris, the Woody Allen film which is opening the Cannes Film Festival. She got to work with lots of good people in the film: Owen Wilson, Michael Sheen (who became her boyfriend), Marion Cotillard, and the FLOTUS of France, Madame Sarko, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. As for the interview in Elle (read the full Elle excerpts here)? well, Rachel is a well-adjusted, emotionally mature, intelligent woman. Which means that her interviews are never really dirty or juicy or anything fun. But I still like what she has to say:
On working with Owen Wilson: ?It?s definitely a different dynamic from the last time we were together. It wasn?t as fun being mean. I love that Woody likes good guys to be good guys and bad guys to be bad guys. Owen seemed to respond really well when I was a really bad guy.?
On her role in Mean Girls: ?With Mean Girls, I originally auditioned for the part that Lindsay Lohan played. I wouldn?t have seen myself playing Regina at all. But when I read the script, I thought, Oh, this part is way more fun; I wonder who will play that.??
On being a romantic: ?I am. When Billie Holiday comes on, I can?t help but be transported?and I?m sure it wasn?t as romantic then at all?but that?s the wonderful part of my job: dressing up and walking down the street in New York or Toronto, pretending I?m in the ?40s.?
On finding inspiration in her parents? marriage: ?[They are] Still together and still in love. I?m very blessed that way. I had a great example of love in front of me, and that?s probably what makes me such a romantic, because I?ve seen it firsthand.?
On her expectations for relationships: ?You grow up and you assume that everyone is like that, and you quickly realize that they?re not, and then you have those days when you wonder if you?re going to find it for yourself. It?s such a hard thing to find. I think it was more that realization that rocked me.?
On being hesitant to take on certain roles: ?Sometimes I don?t think I?m the best person for the job. That was the case with Morning Glory. Sometimes I think, Really? You see me as this? Just because I don?t see myself that way, does that mean I shouldn?t do it? I tend to go, Is this the right decision? What are the ramifications of doing this part? You can start to overanalyze. But once I make the decision, it?s full steam ahead.?
On the critics? reaction to Morning Glory: ?It?s funny, because so many people said to me, ?It?s the kind of film you don?t see anymore, done in a way that isn?t done anymore.? I thought that was a really positive thing, but apparently not. I only hear these businesspeople: ?Well, no one was sure who it was for.?

Oh, I loved Morning Glory! Have I talked about how much I enjoyed that film? There was a sweetness to it, and yes, there was something old-fashioned about it. It sort of reminded me of an old Katherine Hepburn movie - Rachel played the spirited, intelligent workaholic who threw everything into her career. I guess Harrison Ford was the Spencer Tracy character, the curmudgeon, the jackass who didn?t see what was right in front of him. I?m making it sound like there was something sexual between Harrison and Rachel, but there wasn?t it. It was just a really solid romantic comedy with an interesting female lead and solid character work by Harrison, Diane Keaton, Ty Burrell, Patrick Wilson and several other great people.

The ?Brokeback Mountain? actress looked lovely in a black and floral top with light-colored trousers as she made her way through the security checkpoint.
As for her upcoming movie ?Meek?s Cutoff,? Michelle told press she loved wearing her long dresses because they made going to the bathroom a cinch.
"The dresses, they were ingenious for so many reasons. They actually do keep you quite cool, because they're cotton, and they also provide cover. Privacy is important to women, and when you're on the trail like that, so little is afforded. But with the dress, you can actually go to the bathroom in private. It provides an incredible shield. You could literally be in a conversation with somebody and just sort of drop down . I can't believe I'm talking about this."

Spending the day with her little princess, Halle Berry took Nahla out for a mother/daughter afternoon in Malibu, CA on Monday (May 9).

Talking about the audition process for the gig, the Alice Cullen actress recently told MTV, "It was right before 'New Moon.' No one really knew who I was. We had done 'Twilight,' and I think maybe it had just come out. ... Actually, I feel like it came out while ['Skateland'] was filming. And, of course, I got the news of how big it was. No one really knew who I was at that point, so I was just a girl who was in this movie that was buzzed about. I really had to work for it."
As for the differences between her "Skateland" character and "Twilight" role, Ashley dished, "I was really excited, because it was definitely a departure from Alice Cullen. I think it was two years ago, so I'm excited it's finally coming out. I basically read the script, and I was really drawn to the character because Michelle ? she's strong and she's vulnerable, and I feel like you don't get that a lot with female roles in films. She's kind of the headstrong girl in the movie, and she knows what she wants and she's confident and, you know, a no-bull kind of girl."

Alicia Silverstone, who’s best known for, actually, really only known for Clueless, gave brith to her first child on Thursday, May 5, her rep tells PEOPLE. She named him Bear Blu Jarecki because celebrities love making their kid’s lives a living hell.
Son Bear Blu Jarecki arrived at 7:50 a.m. and weighed in at 7 lbs., 15 oz.

Adding yet another title to her resume, Alicia Silverstone and husband Christopher Jarecki welcomed the birth of their first-born child, a baby boy, last Thursday (May 5)
The proud mom and dad gave their just-born 7 lbs., 15 oz, bundle of joy the name Bear Blu.
The 34-year-old's rep released a statement to People, telling, "Mom and Dad are completely in love" with their "beautiful baby boy."
During an interview with the press last month, Alicia gushed about the excitement of entering parenthood, explaining, "I've been wanting to have a baby since I was two years old ? I'm destined to be a mother."
