It's May — you know what that means. It's getting warm, the flowers are blooming and the time-honored tradition of prom is back again. So get your corsages, turn up the cheesy music and fuel the limos, because this week we're catching up with your favorite stars and helping them relive their favorite prom memories.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo seem to have had very different prom experiences back in high school. Minnillo, who grew up all over the country as an Army brat, had a full-on glamorous prom experience, while Lachey, who grew up in Cincinnati, had a more low-budget prom night.

It was the divorce that everyone saw coming. British glamour model Katie Price, aka “Jordan,” and washed-up pop singer Peter Andre called it quits a week ago amid rumors that Katie loves to booze it up and mess around with other guys. Today, sources are reporting that the estranged couple are trying to work out arrangements for their children - but both sides are still very emotional and volatile.
The couple, who both left the UK after announcing their separation last Monday, are returning for talks on Thursday to discuss who will care for Harvey, seven, Junior, three, and Princess Tiaami, one, according to the Daily Mirror.
They are believed to have arranged the meeting over the phone.
Following the announcement that their three-year marriage was over, Katie, 30, fled to the Maldives with the two youngest children while Peter, 35, went to Cyprus, where he is being supported by his family.
According to the Mirror, Peter gave his wife - still best known as Page Three model Jordan - no illusions about why he is returning to the UK for the meeting.
‘I’m only doing this for the sake of the kids, not you,’ he is said to have told her.
The couple are expected to discuss the possibility of sharing custody of seven-year-old Harvey, Junior, three, and Princess Tiaami, 22 months.
Details of how dramatically their relationship had deteriorated before the break-up emerged at the weekend, with the News of the World claiming the couple had not had sex for two years.
A friend of Peter?s told the newspaper: ‘To put it bluntly, Jordan stopped fancying him. It caused big problems because she has a huge sex drive.Things haven?t been right in the bedroom for almost two years.?
Apprentice-reject Mona Lewis had already told how a chance encounter in a nightclub with Katie weeks before the break-up resulted in a startling confession about the state of her marriage. She said Katie declared: ?I may as well tell you that me and Pete are splitting up. You’re going to see it in our TV series anyway.’
Mona, who approached Katie for an autograph and ended up getting an eye-watering account of her relationship with Peter, also claimed she told her the couple?s sex life had fizzled out.
Katie is currently staying at the 2,800-a-night villa in the Maldives where she and her husband spent their honeymoon three-and-a-half years ago.
?When we met on I’m A Celebrity his career was over and he had hardly any money,’ she is reported to have sobbed.
?It was me who turned that around for him.?
The News of the World also claimed Katie shared a kiss with a gay barman on the same night she was photographed flirting outrageously on a drunken night out in Bristol.
The pictures of her falling out of a nightclub are said to have enraged her husband, leading to the announcement of their separation.
Ben Osbourne, 21, was pictured seemingly kissing the drunk Katie on CCTV images captured outside the Flamingo nightclub in Bristol.
Ben said: ?It was probably only a ten-second snog… but it definitely wasn?t the behaviour of a married woman.?
Meanwhile Katie has been using her computer to tell the world how she ?misses? her estranged husband.
On her Twitter page she wrote: ‘I’m still keeping a dignified silence. I have made no comments, they are made up.
‘I’m heartbroken. I never wanted any of this. We all miss Pete.’
Meanwhile Peter broke down in tears as the stress of the acrimonious split began to show.
After seeing pictures of his two young children in last week’s papers Peter couldn’t control his emotions - turning to his older brother for support.
Chris, 46, wrapped his arms around the devastated singer, helping him inside the 1million villa that Andre built as a holiday home for his family.
Peter hasn’t seen his wife since ending their relationship last week.
He is surrounded by his family at the villa near Perivolia - 10 miles from Larnaca, and told reporters outside he was ‘absolutely gutted’.
He also told journalists he was missing his children.
‘Being apart from my kids is just breaking my heart,’ he said. ‘It?s destroying me.’

Hold on: Peter is upset that his wife kissed a gay man? I’m confused. Unless, the only gay man she’s allowed to kiss is Peter. Yeah, I said it. Anyway, is anyone else bothered by the fact that seven-year-old Harvey has seemingly been abandoned by both Katie and Peter in all of this? The child is severely disabled but yet, both Katie and Peter jetted off to other countries and left Harvey in the care of a nanny. Doesn’t he deserve to be supported and cared for throughout this ordeal the same as the other children?
As for Katie keeping a “dignified silence,” all I can say is, HA! When has that orange skankhound ever kept anything dignified or silent?

Cameron Diaz is certainly wasting no time getting over her breakup with hunky model Paul Sculfor. The confirmed bachelorette was seen getting cozy with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine at Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont over the weekend. Levine was formerly linked to Jessica Simpson.
It seems Cameron Diaz has wasted no time moving on following her split from model Paul Sculfor earlier this month.
The Hollywood actress, whose year-long relationship with the former Essex bricklayer ended after she refused to move to the UK, was spotted enjoying a lunch date with Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine.
The pair dined together at the Chateau Marmont over the weekend sparking rumours of a budding new romance.
They certainly dressed the part of a new couple in matching blue jeans and crisp white tops and spent more than an hour exchanging flirty glances and conversation over a meal.
Levine, 30, is known as something of a ladies’ man in Hollywood and has been linked to a string of starlets including Jessica Simpson, Natalie Portman, Paris Hilton, Maria Sharapova and Kirsten Dunst.
His last romance was with a cocktail waitress named Rebecca Ginos who worked at popular LA celebrity haunt, Teddy?s.
Cameron, 36, has enjoyed her fair share of high-profile romances too.
Prior to her relationship with Sculfor, she briefly dated singer John Mayer and had a four-year relationship with Justin Timberlake.
Her other love interests have include Matt Dillon, Jared Leto, Edward Norton, Vince Vaughn, Djimon Hounsou and Gerard Butler.
Aside from stepping back into the dating scene, Cameron is also busy promoting her new film, My Sister?s Keeper, where she plays a mother of three in a moving story about a family living with cancer.
Famed for her quirky performances in romantic comedies, Cameron admits fans might be surprised to see her take a drastically different direction in her new movie.
But she told Vogue magazine she reveled in the challenge.
She said: ‘People who put labels on themselves limit themselves. If you are a woman who?s been labeled as a sex symbol, for instance - I mean, I am not saying that?s the label people would apply to me.
‘But if you see yourself that way, inevitably you get to a point when you are no longer a sex symbol. And if you can?t move past that, you?re putting a limit on yourself; you?re arresting your development. And that?s where I think a lot of women get in trouble.’

I read “My Sister’s Keeper” and was horrified to hear that Diaz would be playing the mother of the two girls in the movie. I can’t see her being convincing in this role at all. I don’t think she’s a horrible actress, per se, just not who I would picture playing the mother of two girls- one of whom is battling a terminal illness.
Back to the topic: Cameron certainly does have a thing for singers, doesn’t she? I doubt this will become anything serious, but they do look good together.

Mariah Carey, whose diva behavior has been well documented, threw a fit when the director for her upcoming flick Precious, Lee Daniels, pulled a diva move on her. Daniels showed up almost an hour late at the premiere of his film at the Cannes Film Festival last Friday. Mariah was said to be bitter because Mariah is a big star and all Lee Daniels does is tell actors where to stand and how to say their lines. What an ass.
“Can you imagine Mariah Carey waiting for anyone?” wondered our incredulous source, adding, “Both Mariah and (co-star) Lenny Kravitz were pissed off. They thought it was disrespectful.”
When we reached out to Daniels for comment, he seemed a bit puzzled by any animosity on Carey’s part. “I was not late,” he insisted. “I believe you have been misinformed.” He hastened to add, “I had the best time of my life though.?
Translation: He was plastered. Which is really the only way to deal with someone like Mariah Carey. Hell if anyone is going to listen to Mimi drone on about her Hello Kitty collection and her “talented” husband Nick Cannon sober. Yea, that Nick Cannon over there that’s stuffing a tray of pigs in a blanket into his pockets.

After a firestorm of controversy erupted around her decision to remove herself from Emmy consideration last go-’round, the Grey’s Anatomy heroine has reentered the gold derby this year, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Natch, cynics will snark that the 2007 Best Supporting Actress winner is back in the race because of the tensions that allegedly sprung up between her and series creator Shonda Rhimes after she took herself out of the running. (The movie starlet, you’ll recall, said at the time that she didn’t have material with which she could compete.) But I think — and I think you’ll agree — it’s likelier that even she knows that, whether viewers loved or loathed the Izzie’s-got-a-brain-tumor story, she played the frak out of it. She’s already earned one high profile endorsement…
“I think she did beautiful work,” Rhimes raved Thursday immediately following the season finale. “I think she always does beautiful work.”

Katherine Heigl just keeps burning bridges. She was poised to be the next big thing with movies like Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, but she is generally regarded as a diva and no one wants to work with an entitled co-star. She’s now starring with Gerard Butler in The Ugly Truth, but I can’t see her getting much farther in her career with thatr attitude.
Congrats to her on the Emmy nod, but no one is going to be able to talk about this without bringing up her de-nomination last year. What do you think? Does she deserve an Emmy nomination? Or does she deserve to get snubbed?

Back in the summer of 2007, rumors had been circulating that Shia Labeouf and were dating. The duo had been seen out eating together in Beverly Hills at the time, and from there the rumors began.
Well, nearly two years after the reported romance took place, the "Transformers" star has admitted that the pair were actually on a date around that time, but it just didn't work out for them.
"[I was] filming a sword fight when I got the message. I said, 'Can this be my life?' " LaBeouf told Playboy (for the magazine's June issue) about how he was first contacted by the singer. The two later decided via text message to meet up.
"It never got beyond one date," he added. "The spark wasn't there. We weren't passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends."
After clearing up the rumors, he did admit that any woman he meets and dates will have to live up to his mom, who he considers the kind of woman he'd date if she weren't his mom. "Probably the sexiest woman I know is my mother. She's an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman," he said. "If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren't my mother, as sick as that sounds."
Though the actor does have a few other contenders for who else he considers hot in Hollywood. "Ellen Page, Evan Rachel Wood, Camilla Belle, Kristen Stewart from 'Twilight,' " he said. "The best of the bunch is Amber Tamblyn, from the 'Sisterhood of Traveling Pants' movies. She may be better than all the dudes."

What do Megan Fox, Lady Gaga and Fergie have in common? I?ll just let that question just hang in the air. Here?s the thing - I actually think there are some people who are truly bisexual, who have relationships with members of both sexes, who feel attractions to both sexes. Example: Cynthia Nixon. To paraphrase some random psychiatrist I was reading about, for many people, sexuality is a lot muddier and more transient than most people understand. What bothers me is that it seems like the whole ?I?m bisexual, y?all? thing has become one of the go-to discussion points for celebrity women who want a quick hit of press. The Cannes Film Festival opened last week, and this year?s festivities seem to be subdued. Many are blaming the overall bad global economy, some are blaming the lack of any huge, exciting films premiering in the first week. No disrespect to the incredible talent of Tilda Swinton, but when her sketchy hair is the biggest news coming out of opening night, the festival has issues.
Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino are trying to bring some of the excitement back to Cannes with their premiere of Inglourious Basterds. Brad has already arrived in Cannes, and will begin to do press shortly. But where is Angelina Jolie? As it turns out, she?s still in New York. Will she come? Does the fact that Brad and Angelina are not stuck on each other all the time mean that the tabloid ultimatum has come true? Have they broken up, just as the tabloids predicted? Actually, People Magazine is saying that Angelina is ?expected? to show up, all to support her man:
As the sea along the Cote D’Azur shimmered in the sunshine, Brad Pitt arrived to add some further sparkle to his familiar springtime haunt, the Cannes Film Festival.
Pitt, 45, was spotted Saturday at the Hotel du Cap, having lunch on a balcony after flying in from the U.S. It is said he is staying in a chalet on the grounds of the highly exclusive hotel, just along the coast in Antibes, on the Riviera.
The star is in the South of France for his fourth Cannes Film Festival in five years. And, if Angelina Jolie, 33, joins him in the next few days as is expected, this will mark the third time they have strolled the palm-lined Croisette waterfront together in as many years.
On this visit Pitt is showcasing his movie from director Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds, which premieres at the festival Wednesday. The filmmaker has described Pitt’s character in the WWII drama as “a hillbilly straight from the mountains of Tennessee.”

Some sources were reporting that the whole issue of Angelina coming to Cannes isn?t about the breakup rumors, it?s about her shooting schedule for Salt. She may only get a day or two off, if that. So she could just be flying in to walk the red carpet with Brad, and then she?ll leave within hours. The press wouldn?t be paying such close attention if they hadn?t spent the last three months working themselves into a frenzy about how Brad and Angelina?s relationship is at death?s door. Even though I enjoy seeing Brad and Angelina on a red carpet, it would be funny to see the reaction of the tabloids if Angelina just decided to stay in New York, and let Brad have the Cannes spotlight to himself. Because who really needs to fly all the way to the South of France only to leave within 24 hours? That?s not much of a vacation.

TMZ has the details of some financial documents in Britney Spears’ ongoing conservatorship case and they’re pretty shocking. Britney is earning plenty of cash on her high-energy Circus tour, but it’s also slipping through her fingers like water. She spent over $10 million from February to December of last year:
Britney Spears’ conservators filed legal papers today explaining Britney’s finances right down to the last penny — and let’s just say she’s got a lot of pennies.
From March to December Brit blew $447,633.69 on security alone. Six months of household repairs and maintenance ran her $49,387.22.
Britney also spent $625,000 to pay Kevin Federline’s lawyers, as ordered by the courts. In the docs, the payments are referred to as “Federline Fees.”
K-Fed ain’t doin too bad either — from March to December, Britney kicked over $178,818.00 in child support payments.
Grand total expenses for Brit between Feb. and December — $10,116,678.23.
But the best part: Britney definitely felt the Christmas spirit — she spent $3400 just to hang lights.

Is Britney’s enormous overhead part of the reason why she went on tour and is now branching out to dates in Europe? The lawyers really fleeced her in the custody battle and seemed to be making up reasons to bill more hours and spend more time in court. Britney was responsible for paying K-Fed’s legal bills too, and when he seemed to work out a deal on his own to accompany Britney on tour his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, was quick to go to the press and say that the arrangements weren’t yet worked out. Kaplan just seemed to be pissed that he wasn’t able the broker the deal with his own team and charge Britney tens of thousands for it.

Radar Online has a new interview with Hugh Hefner on the red carpet at a Playboy benefit for US troops he held on Saturday at his mansion. It’s pretty clear that 83 year-old Hef had a few Jack and cokes before the event because his eyes are half-closed and he’s slurring and kind of slow answering questions. Crystal Harris, his new number one girlfriend, had to repeat some things to him louder so he could figure out what the reporters were asking. At one point he was asked if he’s ever considered putting Lindsay Lohan in the magazine, something he was previously rumored to have offered the actress. He had to have her name repeated three times before he realized who she was, but after the lightbulb clicked on he said “sure” she could pose for Playboy:
RadarOnline.com spoke with Hefner, as well as his blonde twin bookends Karissa and Kristina Shannon, where he took a moment to ponder past and future playmates.
“Very special lady,” Hefner said, reflecting on his relationship wit cancer-battling Farrah Fawcett.
“She appeared in the magazine first in the 1970s and, I think, almost every decade since,” said Hefner.
When asked about potential new playmates, one troubled actress didn’t even register to the 83-year-old.
When asked if Lindsay Lohan could make the cut for Playboy, her name had to be repeated several times before Hefner even realized who she was!
Fear not, Lindsay. Once it dawned on him, Hefner seemed open to the idea.

Poor Hef, he doesn’t look to be doing too well. The fact that he forgot Lohan’s name is more a reflection on his age and whatever he was on than Lindsay’s fading star. Lohan might not be too keen to take Hef up on his offer. Although it was rumored that she previously turned down a $700,000 offer to pose in the men’s magazine, Lohan’s mother Dina denied the offer was ever on the table. What’s more is that Lindsay has landed an actual role in a film, so she may want to concentrate on that for a while and not remind us that she’s usually willing to get naked for art’s sake.

In 2008, Teri blasted daughter Brooke Shields and her husband in The Enquirer
The National Enquirer ran a story in the February 28, 2008 edition featuring an interview with Brooke Shields’ mother and former manager, Teri. Teri told The Enquirer that Brooke refused to let her babysit her granddaughters and said that her daughter and the girls would only visit her occasionally for a short while. She added that she doesn’t like Brooke’s husband, Chris Henchy, and claimed he is too demanding of her granddaughters and controlling towards Brooke. Teri approved of her daughter’s first husband, Andre Agassi.
In Teri’s 2008 interview with The Enquirer, she told a story that made it clear why Brooke would no longer let her babysit her grandchildren. She also said that she’s an alcoholic and that she still struggles with drinking. It seems there are good reasons for her strained relationship with her daughter:
In an exclusive Enquirer interview, a bitter Teri lashed out at her famous daughter for turning her back on her - and blasted Brooke’s husband Chris Henchy for his “Svengali-like” control.
She also admitted that she has continued to struggle with her alcoholism.
“I don’t see Brooke or my granddaughters much, and if they do come over, it’s only for a little while and then they’re gone,” 74-year-old Teri lamented.
“I wish I could see Brooke, but all she does is work. They were here over Christmas, dropped off some packages and were gone.
“But Brooke always makes time to visit her friends no matter how busy she is.
“I’m often disappointed in her, like the times she snaps, ‘What do you ever do for me?’ That’s what her husband tells her to say.
“I preferred Brooke’s first husband Andre Agassi over Chris.”
Teri says the contempt she holds for TV writer Chris stems from his treatment of her - as well as an incident she witnessed that involved the couple’s first-born daughter Rowan.
“A few years back during a meal in her high chair, Rowan started crying and decided she didn’t want to eat anymore,” Teri told The Enquirer.
“So in a fit, Rowan threw her dishes and food onto the floor. Just then, Chris walks in and in a raised voice says: ‘What’s this?’ He was so angry he made that poor little girl get down on the floor and pick up every last thing. Can you imagine?
“Brooke goes along with whatever he says - that’s the kind of Svengali-like influence he has over her.”
An Enquirer reporter visited with the legendary stage mom at her rambling home in Haworth, NJ.
Teri revealed Brooked banned her from being alone with her daughters because of an incident a few years back when Teri was baby-sitting for Rowan at the couple’s New York City apartment house.
Teri book Rowan in a rocker and left to pick up a food delivery in the lobby - but got stuck in the couple’s private elevator for hours.
“Rowan got out of her rocker and wandered around the apartment, crying and unsupervised,” Teri told The Enquirer.
“Fortunately, nothing happened to her. But that was the end for me - and it breaks my heart.”

There’s definitely some bad blood there between Brooke and her mom. It’s also apparent that Teri has a relationship with the National Enquirer and knows at least one journalist there.

Fast forward to over a year later and Teri is staying in a nursing home in New Jersey. A reporter from The Enquirer came to visit her and took her out to run some errands and then to a restaurant next door. Of course they were trying to get some updated dirt on her relationship with her famous daughter, but they clearly know her and have a relationship with her. Brooke Shields was so livid that The Enquirer journalist was allowed to visit her mom she told People Magazine that a tabloid “checked her mother out of a nursing home.” They were only taking her for errands she asked them to run and for lunch down the block. While the Enquirer reporter may have been taking advantage of the situation it’s not like they didn’t know her:
Brooke Shields’s mother, who suffers from dementia, was checked out of a New Jersey nursing home Thursday by a journalist seeking a “tabloid story,” the outraged actress tells PEOPLE.
Teri Shields, 75, was later found unharmed at a restaurant next door to an assisted living center in Old Tappan, N.J., talking to a freelance reporter, according to police, who say no arrests have been made but that the case remains under investigation.
“I intend to take every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act,” Brooke Shields says in a statement to PEOPLE.
The actress claims her mother was targeted by the National Enquirer.
“My mother Teri Shields has been diagnosed with dementia. For her safety, she has temporarily been in a senior living facility, a very difficult decision for me,” she says. “Late Thursday afternoon, I was alerted by Old Tappan Police that my mother had been signed out of the facility by two reporters of the National Enquirer ? who falsely claimed they were friends of hers.”
She adds: “They then drove my 75-year-old mother around looking for a tabloid story. As anyone knows who has a parent who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s, it is one of the most difficult experiences you can go through as a son or daughter. The idea that the National Enquirer took advantage of her state is reprehensible and disgusting.”
In a statement, the National Enquirer responds: “A freelance reporter who has known Teri Shields for more than 10 years visited her Thursday at the assisted living facility where Brooke says she moved her. Teri asked the reporter to take her out to lunch and to run some errands. The freelance reporter then got permission from the facility to do so.”
According to Old Tappan Police Department Capt. Thomas Shine, officers were called to the assisted living facility at 3 p.m. Thursday to look for Teri Shields. A supervisor at the facility said the elder Shields had been checked out.
“It was more along the lines that she had been allowed to leave, based upon their protocol or policy,” Shine tells PEOPLE. “It had been an extended period of time” since she left.
“Our officer located her with some form of a journalist, I think a freelance journalist, in an eatery right next door,” Shine continues. “She wasn’t harmed in any way shape or form. She was fine. The officers discussed the circumstances with her. And she literally walked with one of my officers next door to the assisted living center.”
Shine did not identify the journalist or a media outlet.
The journalist was interviewed by police, as was a photographer who was working with the reporter but wasn’t on the scene at the time officer arrived.
No charges have been filed, and the Shields family had not yet sought a criminal complaint, says Shine.

People will be quick to condemn the National Enquirer, but there are two sides to every story. Having read some of The Enquirer’s coverage of Brooke’s relationship with her mom, it’s hard to know who to side with. They posted a very plausible account of events on their website, and from their perspective they were just doing their job and weren’t exploiting an elderly lady. If their reporter has known Teri for ten years he may not be aware that she’s less coherent now than she was a year ago or if she’s unable to make her own decisions. You wonder if Brooke was more upset over the way her mom has trashed her in the tabloid in the past and less about the fact that journalists visited her. On the other hand, since Brooke’s mom suffers from dementia you can understand why she is so protective of her and outraged over what happened. It’s not as if they were there to help her out without getting a story. The Enquirer’s account sounds believable to me. At the same time you also question whether Teri is able to make her own decisions at this point and if the facility had the authority to approve the visit.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz just marked their first wedding anniversary this weekend, as Ashlee’s dad reminds us through Twitter. If Star Magazine is to be believed, and the validity of this story is pretty much a coin toss, Ashlee and Pete might have another reason to celebrate. Star claims that Ashlee is currently pregnant with her second child. This story seems to be based on a single Twitter message she posted about how she wasn’t going to the doctor’s office for whatever reason, but it’s possible Star has an inside source. They claim to have “multiple” sources, so it could be true:
Multiple sources tell Star that she and Pete Wentz are adding another child to their family! Ashlee is “beyond thrilled” to be pregnant again so soon after having Bronx just last November, says an insider. But “she’s just a few weeks along and doesn’t want to tell the world for at least two more months.”
Although she had hoped to keep her big news a secret, Ashlee, 24, just couldn’t contain her joy when she dropped a small hint on her Twitter page. “No medical visit for me today,” she teased on April 23.
The new little one (Ashlee is hoping for a girl!) comes at a time when she and Pete, 29 - who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 17 - could really use a reason to reconnect. As Star has reported, the Fall Out Boy bassist misses the single life and was caught partying with scantily clad dancers in Las Vegas in April. “When it got back to Ashlee she was so upset,” says a source. “But she loves Pete, and she wants to hang on to him. She believes this second baby will really cinch the deal.”
One pal says Pete is not ready for more children. “He loves Ash and Bronx, but he also loves his freedom. He thinks a second kid could change things for the worse. He doesn’t want to be tied down and stuck at home all the time.”

Pete and Ashlee seem really devoted to each other and although Pete can be massively immature, it does look like he’s going to stick with Ashlee for the long term. That incident with the dancers was probably just a blip in their relationship and it’s doubtful he was doing much more than just partying. If this is true, congratulations to Pete and Ashlee! It might be a lot of work to have another baby so soon after their first, but I’ve also heard that it’s easier to have them closer together.
Alas, it might not be true - Ashlee’s dad Joe also tweets that it’s “totally not true” that his daughter is pregnant, although Ashlee denied her last pregnancy until it was obvious so you never know. Ashlee also wished Pete a happy anniversary on Twitter, saying “@petewentz eat me.. drink me.. happy anniversary.” Nice Visual, Ashlee.

Cameron Diaz is June?s Vogue cover girl. The pictures are lovely, and the interview is somewhat boring. Cameron spends most of the time talking about her new film, My Sister?s Keeper, and being environmentally-conscious, which, to Cameron?s credit, she manages to do without being preachy. She doesn?t even directly address her relationship with British model Paul Sculfor, perhaps because they have already broken up. That point in the interview is when Cameron is talking about how much she loves New York, having recently bought a home in Manhattan after living in Los Angeles for years. The writer points out that if Cameron loves New York, perhaps a move to England isn?t far off, to which Cameron replies ?I was just really thinking, I can’t be away from New York. I’m having a major love affair with it right now.? Yep, they?re probably broken up.
Cameron primarily talks about My Sister?s Keeper, which from the description of the plot, seems utterly depressing. It?s about a girl dying of cancer, that girl?s sister (played by Abigail Breslin) and the mother of the two girls (played by Cameron). It?s probably a tearjerker. Cameron talks about how her father died during the film shoot, and how that affected her. She also covers the ?sex symbol? label, and how that?s not what she aspires to. Here are the highlights from the interview:
[Cameron?s] clearly not looking to be a poster girl for the environmental movement. She is there for the environment if it needs her, buying carbon offsets with no great fanfare, making ecologically sensitive shopping choices quietly and happily. She is trying hard not to preach or scold. Of her Prius she says, “It’s just a car.” She has had one for years, before they became (her dream come true) popular. “It’s just a choice people can make.”
What she is eager to talk about on the road is, quite naturally, her new film, out this month. It’s called My Sister’s Keeper, and if you were to describe it in a too-fast kind of way, you might say it is about the death of a child.
“It’s about falling in love,” she says, eyes on the road. “It’s about all different kinds of love. Parents falling in love with their children. Children falling in love with their parents. Falling in love for the first time. Falling in love with being a teenager. All of the things that you fall in love with, that our hearts give way to over a lifetime, and then the heartbreaks when those things get taken away.”
It sounds like too much for one film, but the director, Nick Cassavetes, has taken what might be a melodramatic courtroom drama and fashioned a rich portrait of a family as it responds to a child with cancer. Abigail Breslin plays Anna, the dying girl’s sister, who narrates the film. Anna is eleven and has endured years of medical procedures to prolong her sister’s life. Anna was conceived as a genetically engineered child, a bone-marrow-donor match (something that is in fact medically possible today). As the film opens, she questions her role as her sister’s life-support system. Cameron plays her mother, a fierce attorney who has given up her practice to concentrate exclusively on Kate, her older daughter, who is dying of leukemia.
With My Sister’s Keeper, she appears to have gone above and beyond the call: During filming Cameron’s father, Emilio, died. He was young, just 58, when he died suddenly of pneumonia. The film shut down for a short time, and then she returned to work. “I think,” Cameron says, “emotionally.?” She pauses as she dwells on the psychological impact the film had on her. “It definitely took its toll. Definitely.”
“New York is the best city in the world, no doubt about it. No other city possesses what New York possesses,” Cameron says. [The] paparazzi-scarred actress (she has successfully sued the National Enquirer and The Sun and had a famous altercation with paparazzi while dating Justin Timberlake) deftly keeps the talk to larger love affairs. “I was just really thinking, I can’t be away from New York. I’m having a major love affair with it right now.”
“People who put labels on themselves limit themselves,” she says. “If you are a woman who’s been labeled as a sex symbol, for instance?I mean, I am not saying that’s the label people would apply to me. But if you see yourself that way, inevitably you get to a point when you are no longer a sex symbol. And if you can’t move past that, you’re putting a limit on yourself; you’re arresting your development. And that’s where I think a lot of women get in trouble.?
“It’s a journey,” she adds in a mock-heavy stoner accent. “It’s a total journey.” After the laughter subsides, she goes on. “But it’s also true. I mean, I’m not 25 years old anymore, nor do I want to be. I wouldn’t even want to go back to being 30. You know what I mean? That journey?I’ve done it already. I don’t want to do it again. It’s a lot of work to get through it, and I am excited about moving forward. I think that people get caught up in getting back to some place that they already passed. Or to a place where you cannot stay.”

That whole ?sex symbol? part of conversation threw me. I guess she?s saying she was never a sex symbol, because she knew it was limiting? Or is she saying some people considered her a sex symbol, and she found that limiting? Back in the day, I know that guys really liked her, and she was hot stuff around the time Something About Mary came out, but was she an honest-to-goodness sex symbol? I always had Cameron pegged in the Sandra Bullock-esque ?Tomboy/Girl-Next-Door? category. Which is just as limiting as the ?sex symbol? stuff. But I will give Cameron a lot of credit for never whining about aging in Hollywood, like so many actresses seem to do these days. Cameron?s approach to her age always seems to be ?this is where the party is, right here?, and that really works for her.

Natalie Portman is denying all of those romance rumors between her and Sean Penn. The rumors have been swirling for about two months. Allegedly, Sean and Natalie were making out around the weekend of the Oscars. When Sean formally filed for separation from Robin Wright Penn in April, gossip soon heated up that Natalie might be the real reason for the split.
In her denial, Natalie Portman basically says that she and Sean are friends and nothing else. This in itself is a huge deal - Natalie Portman rarely, if ever, talks about her personal or dating life, so the rumor that she?s a ?homewrecker? must have been bothering her. She?s a smart girl - smart enough to know that her good-girl image could be ruined by taking up with Sean Penn. But is she smart enough not to even get with Sean in the first place?
Natalie Portman says she isn’t cozying up to Sean Penn.
“Sean Penn is a friend and colleague,” the actress, 27, tells Usmagazine.com. “The reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue.”
Tabloid Star magazine claimed that Penn, 48 — who recently filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn — and Portman were “making out” at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower Hotel in March.
The New York Post reported today the pair have been “cavorting.”
But Portman continues: “I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so.”
Both Penn and Portman served on the jury of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
Penn — who won his second Best Actor Oscar for his role in Milk earlier this year — initially filed for divorce from Wright Penn, 43, in 2007, but his petition was later dismissed. Three days later, she filed her own paperwork. In April 2008, the couple’s divorce petition was dismissed at their request.
Portman split from indie rocker Devendra Banhart last September after four months of dating.

Nice mention of Devendra Banhart. For a quick refresher, Devandra Banhart is a Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter and some kind of icon to the indie-rock kids. That?s Natalie?s real type - those 20-something, whippet-thin hipster guys with dark hair. Not the over-40 Oscar winners who could just as easily spend the night with some hookers and cocaine. Big difference. Which makes me believe Natalie?s denial, hook, line and sinker. Sean is simply not her type.

While it has been strongly denied that Harrison Ford will passing of his Indiana Jones title to Shia Labeouf, there was something he passed off to him and that was…the hat according to IOL.
He said: "It has his sweat stains from the whole movie in it. We were way out somewhere at an airplane hangar on the last day of shooting, and he took the hat off his head, signed it and handed it to me. "When I looked at the hat I saw he had written something with a silver Sharpie (pen). It said, 'It's all yours now, kid - Harrison.'"
But LaBeouf is quick to point out that he won't be taking over from Ford any time soon: "It's easy to perceive that as his handing the reins over to me on a franchise or whatever… that's not it. "It was his way of saying 'Life is going to get crazy now, so strap on tight, kid.'"
I am so glad that he wasn't handing over the franchise to him because I don't get why he is Speilberg's go to boy. He just doesn't do it for me, does he do it for you?

Katherine Heigl is once again putting herself up for Emmy contention again according to EW's Michael Ausiello. I guess she feels the writers finally wrote something worthy for her ego. Personally I thought she could have done a better job with what she was given, Justin Chambers certainly did. If anyone should get the nom, it should be him. Granted I just don't like Katherine Heigl, so what she did might be Emmy worthy, I just can't see it. Wouldn't it be great Karma if the Emmy voters don't nominate her, but they will.
BTW who else thinks she will be back next season while TR Knight won't be. They have to kill one of them off because otherwise, I think, we the viewers will feel ripped-off.
