He?s conquered his vocal issues and is already back on tour, and John Mayer has a special surprise in store for his fans when his new album Paradise Valley hits stores.
The ?Half of My Heart? crooner invited his on/off girlfriend Katy Perry to add some flair to his track ?Who You Love,? while R&B singer Frank Ocean makes a guest appearance on ?Wildfire.?
Earlier this year, John sang Ocean?s praises in a Rolling Stone interview- "Frank is such an interesting, deep, touched, wonderful guy. They don't make a lot of other Frank Oceans, and the guy is looking for another. And the way that his mind works is craving the same frequency that he's able to communicate on, and I think he's just searching for that kind of depth that he has inside of himself in someone else. He's fascinating to me. He's so great."
During the same chat, Mayer made a roundabout comment regarding his feelings for Ms. Perry- "I'm quite happy. I'm happy in all aspects of my life. I'm very happy in all aspects of my life."
Paradise Valley is slated to drop on August 20th.

Taking care of some promotional duties, Amber Heard showed up at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood for ?Jimmy Kimmel Live? last night (August 7).
The ?Rum Diary? dame was in the house to promote her new movie ?Paranoia,? and her mom and dad were even in the crowd to lend their support.
Amber joked that before the shoot, she had no awareness of two of her uber-famous costars- ?Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Liam Hemsworth [are in the film]. They told me who Harrison and Gary were as I was getting there?. They?re legends and it?s an honor.?
?They?re amazing, and I just feel really lucky that I get to work with these pros,? added Ms. Heard. ?Paranoia? hits theaters on August 16th.

As if his life wasn’t fantastic enough, DiCaprio can now fly AND he has a hot model friend watching him in amazement. They’re probably going to do it later. Leo got pap?d making out with his summer girlfriend Toni Garrn, and I guess the paparazzi have just completely decamped to Ibiza, waiting out more photos of Leo and his friends. I see Ethan Suplee in these photos ? he?s an old-school member of the P-ssy Posse. Vladimir Doronin also seems to be on the yacht in these photos ? this is possibly Doronin?s yacht. Vlad and Leo became bros years ago, back when Vlad only got invited to Hollywood events because of Naomi Campbell. I don?t see Vlad?s girlfriend Luo Zilin in these photos, but maybe I?m not looking hard enough? oh, wait!! I see her.
When Leo wants to ?hide? from the paps, he puts a towel over his head and wanders around. But other times, it seems like he doesn?t care and he?s just living his life. Here are some photos of Olivia Wilde sporting her very own pair of Katie Holmes-styled fug booties in NYC last Friday. Her outfit is both flattering and cute, but she needs to lose those booties of obscurity. Olivia’s career trajectory is an odd one — she was one of those “it girls” a few years ago and showed up in all sorts of box-office disasters (and quite recently as well with The Incredible Burt Wonderstone), which obviously were not her fault because she was playing “the girl” in most of them. She’s playing Chris Hemsworth’s wife in Rush soon enough, so maybe that movie will fare better for her.
Olivia also has a starring role in the most oversharing relationship of the year, that of herself and Jason Sudeikis. You know, they talk about their incredible sex life of athletic proportions and then try to take it all back like two douchebags. Interestingly enough though, Olivia (age 29) has a new column in Glamour about what one should do (and not do) when turning 30 years old. Glamour calls her “a hell of a writer,” and I have to admit that they could be correct. Olivia calls 30 the “Cut the Bullsh-t and Go Be Awesome” age, and here are her tips for those who don’t know how to deal:
DON’T freak out about all the brilliant people who accomplished more than you by 30: “Yes, Einstein had discovered the theory of relativity by your age, and Emily Bronte had written Wuthering f—ing Heights, but honestly, what you achieve is far less important than what kind of human being you are. What do you want people to say at your funeral: ‘Olivia may have cured HIV, but she ran over my cat and drove away laughing’? No, thanks! I’d rather be a good person who makes people happy than a d-ck who wins a Nobel by 32.”
DO enjoy your sexual prime: “According to horny Professor Alfred Kinsey’s 1953 page-turner Sexual Behavior in the Human Female, women really start heating up in their thirties, so let’s just say it’s finally your turn to act like an 18-year-old boy-except you’ll be 1,000 times better at…everything.”
DON’T cut your face: “I am so saddened and grossed out by young women who look like creepy, old aliens because of their new Barbie noses and lips. Is that a smile or a grimace? Did you melt hot wax on your face, or is that your skin? A better approach: Take care of yourself now that you’re old enough to know how. Drink water, sleep eight hours (I wish), and don’t go within 400 feet of a tanning booth or I’ll slap you. Hard.”
DO travel: “This is possibly the last time until retirement that you won’t be considered a bad person for booking a last-minute ticket to Morocco with friends just because you damn well feel like it. You’re old enough to know where not to go (Cancun) but young enough to feel guilt-free being entirely unreachable.”
DON’T propose to the next guy you meet just because you worry he’ll be your last chance at lifelong companionship: “Sure, you’ve attended more bridal showers than yoga classes in the past year, but that doesn’t mean you’re destined to be a craggy spinster, searching for roommates on Craigslist at 50. The danger with ‘husband hunting’ is you start to see every date as a job interview; it clouds your ability to get to know someone.”
DON’T feel pressured to pop out kids: “I love kids with a passion I usually reserve for hot cheese, miniature chairs, and Prince concerts, but I feel no stress to reproduce simply because of a fear of withering eggs. Wait for the right partner, and make sure you’re where you want to be in life before picking neighborhoods based on school districts. This is not to suggest you should live irresponsibly for the next 10 years, then expect to get knocked up when your chosen dude finally sneezes inside you. But you’ll never find the right baby-maker or enjoy baby-making if you’re doing it out of anxiety. Relax, be good to your body, and when the time is right, get busy.”
DO learn a new skill: “You’ve already lived longer than most women in the thirteenth century, so why not look at your thirtieth as a rebirth? I started stand-up paddleboarding at 29 and consider it my baby step toward becoming a badass 30-something semipro surf goddess (as long as the sharks go vegan).”
DON’T be bogged down by your past: “Consider your baggage (bad boyfriends, job setbacks, body issues) lost by the airline of life, leaving you empty-handed at your new destination with only one choice: Go shopping.”

Sigh. I have to admit that Olivia’s a pretty good writer in this instance. Although she undoubtedly had some major help in the editing department, the ideas are probably all hers. Turning 30 was kind of tough for me in terms of assessing accomplishments, and I’ll have to deal with 40 in a few years. Just thinking about how Emily Bronte published Wuthering Heights at age 29 has always made me feel like an abject failure, so I’m identifying with Olivia’s thoughts here. But you know, success really is relative, and I don’t think Olivia aspires to be a successful novelist like most writers do. She’s got the acting thing.
By the way, did you catch how Olivia insinuates that she was “bogged down” by being married to Italian Prince Tao Ruspoli? Then she scores herself some points for strategically name-dropping Prince (the artist). It’s difficult not to like someone who likes Prince. Clever girl.

Sometimes I get jealous of the Brits because they have better pejoratives than Americans. ?Slag? is a word that gets thrown around a lot on Britain, but no so much in America. I guess the American equivalent is ?slut? or something. But ?slag? just feels nastier, dirtier, more insulting. I was reminded of this when I was reading some of the coverage of Kelly Brook?s latest scandal. Kelly is a ?glamour model? in the UK, and she has somewhat of a fanbase internationally too, mostly because she?s got that girl-next-store prettiness plus an absolutely fantastic, curvy body with perhaps the best natural rack in the world. Kelly started up with a guy named Danny Cipriani last year ? Danny had previously dated Katie Price, so that should tell you something about Danny. But the current scandal is that Kelly caught Danny sexting SIX other women. And some of them were ?motherly slags?. Oh? this is going to get good.
Furious Kelly Brook raged at boyfriend Danny Cipriani after discovering he had cheated with SIX women, it was claimed. Actress Kelly, 33, “hit the roof” after discovering the saucy messages and naked pictures on the 25-year-old’s phone.
She then set about ringing at least six of the women whose details she found on his phone and even sent the girls naked pictures of Danny’s “other women”, it was said. Actress Kelly, 33, reportedly bellowed at one: ?You are just one of many.?
According to The Sun sent Stacey a picture of a girl called ?Jenna? naked on a bed. With it was the message: ?Your (sic) in good company.? When Stacey asked who the girl was, Kelly texted: ?Someone Danny is f******. One of many?.
Stacey Simcox, one of those whose details were said to have been found on Cipriani?s phone, claimed she had been rung up by Kelly. Stacey, 25, of Birmingham, claims Kelly asked her if she was ?another one he?s been f******?, it was reported.
Stacey, who said she had never met Cipriani, it was reported, claimed Kelly said some of the girls ?were all slags and some were motherly?. She claimed Kelly told her she was in the motherly bracket.
Kelly was ranting and raging, it was reported, and Stacey claimed: ?You could tell she was really upset.?
Kelly had texted Stacey posing as Cipriani and asking to meet up, it was claimed. Stacey said Kelly sent her a steamy picture of a woman lying naked on a bed, said to have come from Cipriani?s phone. But Stacey replied asking who the girl was, and the actress texted back, ?Someone Danny is f******. One of many,? it was alleged.
Model Kelly, 33, had rekindled her relationship with Cipriani this year.
In May, Kelly was involved in a war of words on Twitter with nemesis Katie Price – who briefly dated Danny in October 2011 – with the mother-of-three claiming Danny will ?never be faithful?.
Yesterday Cipriani?s spokesman declined to comment.

In case you couldn?t get the hang of the Brit-speak, the gist of it is that Kelly found all of these photos of naked women on Danny?s phone, so she decided to call all of them and send each woman photos of all of the other women on his phone. Kelly also told off the women, insulting them and calling them ?slags? and ?motherly? (which I assume is some kind of major burn in Britain).
Now, Kelly is all of 33 years old. She really should know better, I would think. I?m giving her a slight pass because I think she was caught up in the moment, perhaps she had just discovered the wealth of slag-tastic photos on Danny?s phone. But still? this is juvenile. At least it seems like Kelly did make a clean break ? the UK tabloids report that Kelly kicked Danny out of her house last weekend, and Danny has been begging Kelly for forgiveness. Pretty much any random dude off the street would treat Kelly better than Danny, so I hope she just cuts her losses and finds another (better) boyfriend.

Kate Upton scored a MAJOR magazine cover, y?all. I?m proud of her. She?s harmless and she gets a ridiculous amount of bulls?t about her body and her ?look?. Kate covers the September issue of Elle ? you can see the slideshow here. I don?t care for the cover image at all. Her hair looks too stiff and the gold jewelry is overkill. But I really like the cleavage-y, shadowy photo a lot. And not just because even I would motorboat her. The quotes from Kate?s interview are pretty interesting too.

As for ?treating models like children?? you notice that in the very next quote, she?s talking about someone ?taking away? her cross, like a child would say ?mom took away my toy.? But I get what she?s saying. We all infantilize models specifically and women in general. It?s interesting to hear her talk about it. As for her religion ? she reminds me of Jessica Simpson there. Papa Joe always said that people didn?t believe Jessica could be a good Christian girl AND have big boobs.

Yesterday, Jennifer Aniston did a 4-minute long interview on Good Morning America. It was 4 minutes of DRAMA! Except not really. I made Bedhead and CB watch it because Aniston actually referenced our (incorrect) story about Aniston?s possible wedding in Virginia. We just got a bad tip on that one. But after I sent the video to CB, she reminded me of her theory that Aniston is on some kind of medication and that?s why her speech patterns seem kind of loopy at times. See? That?s why CB is nicer than me. She watches an Aniston interview and she thinks Aniston is being ?medicated? and I watch the interview and think ?Lord, is she hammered and/or stoned in the middle of the morning??

Jennifer says she wants to travel the world, which is what she always says in interviews, forever and ever. She?s also asked what her biggest interview peeve is, and she says: ?Something about family and trying to relate it to the movie with, ?Oh, if I was to have a child how many kids do I want?? And ?do I want a boy or a girl?? I didn?t realize you could place orders, I honestly didn?t realize it was like a drive-through, that you could talk to a little electronic voice.? Um. You get asked about babies in every interview because you?ve made promises to your fanbase over and over to have babies.
When asked about family and her family specifically, Jennifer says: ?Well, what family means to me is the family I?ve chosen ? and my friends and my partner are truly my family? I surround myself with my amazing work, my amazing friends, my amazing partner, my beautiful dogs ? and I tune that noise out. I mean, I think it?s very sweet that people want everything for me.? She realizes that much of the ?noise? is her self-perpetuating talking points, right?
When I was looking around to see if Aniston had said or done anything of note this week, I came across this fascinating review/career takedown of We?re the Millers and Jennifer?s career. You can read the whole piece here ? there is quite a lot of shade and quite a lot of truth in that piece, at least as far I?m concerned. The Daily Beast?s hypothesis is basically that Jennifer made another terrible comedy and her attempt at being ?raunchy? and edgy is cringe-inducing. Some highlights include ?She?s a movie star with no star power? and ?The film is not good. And neither, really, is Aniston.? And ?She?s failed as the next rom-com queen. She?s flailing in her attempt at becoming a lascivious leading lady.? The whole piece is like that, efficiently pulling apart the theory that Jennifer is now or has ever been a lead actress in successful films. They do give her some credit for being a ?brilliant character actress? though. Which might be the greatest insult of all!

Sigh? does anyone else feel sorry for Orlando Bloom? These photos just gave me second-hand embarrassment for him. Orlando has been in New York for several months now, rehearsing the new Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet. Orlando is 36 years old. Romeo was supposed to be a teenager. So, on that alone? I feel sorry for him. He?s much too old to play Romeo, but his acceptance of this role speaks volumes about the state of his career these days. Stuck in this sort of juvenile forever-heartthrob Teen Beat sort of thing.
Orlando?s Juliet is an actress named Condola Rashad. She?s really pretty, although I question her insistence on wearing high-top sneakers to the photocall. She?s 26 years old ? again, Juliet was supposed to be a teenager, although I?m giving this mid-20s actress a pass because I could see her pulling off ?teenager?. I guess it?s also notable that Juliet is being made into a woman of color. Is that notable? Eh. It speaks to the larger themes of Romeo and Juliet and the power of love in the face of societal, racial and familial norms, I suppose.
All that being said, just from this photocall alone, I fear that this production is going to be a MESS. You know someone was like ?We?ve got to youth it up! I know, put Orlando on a motorcycle! Get him some leather pants!!? Even Orly looks embarrassed. Poor Orly. I guess the production is going to be super-modern. Maybe Mercutio will be a Hell?s Angel.
He would have made a half-decent Hamlet though? I wonder why no one thought of him for that?

These are photos of Mark Wahlberg (and Stanley Tucci!) last week on the set of Transformers 4. I would cry some tears for Tucci, but after realizing that John Freaking Malkovich appeared in Transformers 3, I have realized that no actor is above a quick money grab. Meanwhile, Mark is still promoting 2 Guns (his buddy movie with Denzel Washington). Just yesterday, we touched upon two issues of this story. I discussed how Mark told Justin Bieber to pull up his pants and stop acting like a little “b—–“, and Kaiser covered Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp blaming the critics for the abysmal failure of The Lone Ranger.
Now Wahlberg has spoken with the LA Times about the apocalyptic (in industry terms) flop of The Lone Ranger, which has caused Depp to threaten to retire from his rather prolific acting career. As I said a few weeks ago, the problem with Lone Ranger was not only Tonto’s bird-head but the Ranger‘s massive, $250 million (plus publicity) budget. Surprisingly, Mark Wahlberg is of a similar mind:
On The Lone Ranger problem: “First and foremost, the media is targeting all these movies. There’s intense scrutiny on us, way more than before. They are spending so much money to pull the wool over the audience?s eyes with these effects-driven movies. It’s not like Jurassic Park, where you saw something groundbreaking and innovative and said ‘Holy … I gotta see that. Every end-of-the-Earth movie kind of feels the same.’ They?re spending $250 million for two dudes on a horse? Where?s the money going?”
But Wahlberg don’t play that game: “Transformers is a different thing. What Michael’s been able to do is elevate the material and take the human element to a whole other place. Having the father-daughter relationship [that Wahlberg?s character figures into] is so much more interesting. Michael Bay isn’t going to be in a situation where a movie is $100 million over budget. I’ve never seen anyone that can manage the entire thing so single-handedly and seamlessly.”

As annoying as Mark Wahlberg usually presents himself to be — remember, he would have killed all the 9/11 terrorists, given the chance — I have to agree. Why did Disney spend $250 million other than to secure Johnny Depp? Sure, they spent several million on special effects and threw a few million the way of an unproven Armie Hammer, but an unjustifiable amount went to Depp. And yes, this was for a Western, and these sorts of movies historically hold absolutely no international appeal. As much as it pains me to admit, at least we know that Wahlberg and Michael Bay’s phallic robots will make enough money to justify their own overblown budget. I haven?t written about LeAnn Rimes since July 17th!! What in the world? We should all be very, very suspicious when LeAnn goes incognito for a several weeks. It means something big is about to happen. And so it is today. LeAnn and Eddie were keeping it low-key because they were finalizing their reality show deal. Their reality has been rumored for a long time ? I?ve lost count of how many times I?ve written about it. LeAnn and Eddie were pitching a ?scripted reality show? concept to various channels, and it looks like they?ve found a home on VH1.
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s new TV show has found a home. Vh1 is set to premiere LeAnn & Eddie (working title) in Fall 2013/Winter 2014 with six half-hour episodes.
“We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or better yet who we’re really not,” the couple, serving as executive producers, said in a statement to Us Weekly. (Rimes, 30, and Cibrian, 40, married in 2011, two years after the couple met and fell in love while still married to other people.) “We’re thrilled to partner with Vh1 and The Gurneys [of Gurney Productions] to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music.”
Tom Calderone, President of VhI, also said in a statement: “LeAnn and Eddie are both talented entertainers who have really captured the public’s imagination in the last couple of years, but there is so much more to them than what you read in the tabloids. This is going to be a really fun show in which we hope to reveal what their lives are really like – from the normalcy of their home life, to what drives them artistically, to the chaos of their celebrity life.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in April that Rimes and Cibrian were pitching a TV sitcom based on their lives. In May, the Spitfire singer told Us that they were “in talks” to develop their own sitcom. “We’ve been talking about a show. It’s not a reality show,” she said. “If anything, it would be based around our normal lives, but it would be scripted. We want to take our lives and laugh as much at ourselves as we think other people do.”
“It would be taking our regular life and elaborating on it to make it really over the top and funny,” Rimes further explained. “After all these years of having stuff thrown at us, it would be great to laugh at it all.”
Vh1 reports that the series will show the couple’s “normal modern family” life of balancing career and co-parenting Cibrian’s two sons with ex-wife Brandi Glanville.

LeAnn also tweeted, ?Thx for all the love about our new show. We are very excited to do something new and unique.? So ?new and unique? that it basically sounds like every other dumb reality show. I was looking through VH1?s roster and I realized that I haven?t watched any of their original programming in a really long time. I don?t watch Hollywood Exes, Lala?s Full Court Life, Love & Hip Hop or Couples Therapy. But it sounds like LeAnn and Eddie?s show will fit in perfectly there, right? I wonder which networks passed on the project?

Here are some photos from last night?s LA premiere of Elysium. The premiere was a huge event ? much bigger than the sad little Jobs premiere which also took place last night. Unfortunately, there weren?t many big-name Fashion Girls in attendance. Still, we get to look at nice photos of Matt Damon, and how bad can that be? I don?t know what designer Lucy is wearing. All I know is that it feels like I?ve seen her in this dress before. She wears a lot of blue on the red carpet. But I?m glad to see that Matt hasn?t knocked her up again ? for a while there, she was in a constant state of pregnancy, it seemed. Also: Matt got pranked by Jimmy Kimmel during the Elysium junket:
Jodie Foster wore Roland Mouret. It?s kind of boring, simple dress, but I love this color on Jodie. She usually wears Armani too, so I guess it?s notable that she?s in Mouret.
